Dine India in Gwynedd

Dined on a Saturday night and it was busy . Its only a small restaurant and they had a couple of big parties in but still found space for us. Food was excellent, and the service too. There's no bar so its bring your own drink which works well. Even though it was busy and rhy were doing takeaway orders the food arrived without delay and was great. I'd definitely come again as the lamb makhani is as good as Akbars in Manchester. If your in town give it a try Well done lads 👍🏻👍🏻

Best Indian in Tywyn. This bloke will go out of his way to make meals not on the menu, the other place won't. This place may be a lot older than the other one but the food is far superior. This is the only Tywyn Indian for me Vindaloo Bryan

Myself and my husband had food recently from here as we're locals, and it was very nice. Everything was still piping hot when we got home and it all tasted delicious. Would recommend!

Always a great takeaway from these guys, enjoyed weekly, if not twice weekly on some occasions. Well worth a visit or indeed a collection. Order is always spot on, with our meals cooked to perfection

We're on the lookout for good local curry houses, and Dine India is the third we've tried so far. The Tandoori Fry starter was excellent, and Chicken Chilli Massala hot enough without burning! Take your own alcohol, not a problem, and the only minor gripe is that, like another similar place in Tywyn, it's 'cash only'. We'll have to go again, and find out if the rest of the menu is as good as the dishes we had.

I am local to Tywyn and every time we have a take a way he tries to over charge us, we now calculate the price before we go and take the correct change it is expensive enough without being charged extra. Food is quite good but let down by his over charging. CHECK YOUR PRICES OF WHAT YOU ORDER BEFORE YOU PAY.

Moans first - this place is not licensed despite saying so on the windows but you can take your own, also they only accept cash, as do the other establishments along that road. We initially didn't think we'd be eating there as my wife will only have Paneer in her curries and they didn't appear to have any except for the Sag Paneer which I think is cut quite small, so we paid for our popadoms and dip tray, was in the process of leaving when the chef came through from the kitchen to say he'd managed to get some Paneer. So glad he did, the curries that followed were some of the best we had tasted, chicken baltis, prawn pathia, a chicken one with banana and my wife's paneer massalla, naan breads were all light and fluffy, all eaten and enjoyed. The staff were polite and friendly and obviously didn't want to loose our custom over a block of Paneer. Seemed fairly quite for a Friday evening, but was doing a fair trade in take aways. Will definitely be returning on our next visit to Tywyn.

This is the best curry you will get in Tywyn and Aberdyfi . Very delicious and the staff were veery nice and freindly . The family loved it ! 100% recommend.

Came here for a meal as it was our first visit to Tywyn.. 2 of us were seated next to the door, which constantly remained open and had people in and out consistently, with a draft on us. Although the restaurant was empty, asked to move and was ignored. Ordered popadoms and mains. Although the food was nice, it certainly wasn't worth the money or experience. We each had a curry, rice and naan bread. Over £45 for 2 of us. What got us the most was we each had a diet coke - £3.60 each for a small! Poured out of a bottle you get at your local convenience store! Absolutely outraged. No atmosphere, no real service (our table didn't have the correct cutlery so took it off the one next to us), lots of people in and out. Decided to dump our food on the table, my naan bread ended up on my plate? in its dish without any care or service from the man serving (not worthy of waiter title). No offer to serve the curry out on plates as most indian restaurants do. This either needs to be a restaurant or just a takeaway, it can't manage with both. If it wants to be both needs to think about customer service, customer experience and how they can not let take away and in-dining experience affect the other. Could utilise the space far better! Will not be returning to eat in, possibly for a takeaway if there's no other options left. Won't be recommending. Real shame as it could be lovely.

We had a takeaway for 4, & in our opinion is was bitterly disappointing. If I’d been blindfolded I wouldn’t have known what I was eating, so called king prawns, but bits of mush in reality. The others were not impressed either with their meals...

Delicious take away. The food was fresh, piping hot and delicious! Service is always excellent and nothing too much trouble. The owner will always make the effort to prepare anything you want that's not in the menu if it's possible. Great service and great food!

Fantastic food. Eat in is no problem but if you have takeaway, order it when you are ready to go and pick it up (if you want it hot) and definitely check your order is all there before you leave. Do this and you can't...

First visit in August to collect takeaway - drove 20 mile round trip to collect, got home & veggie option requested was definitely not veggie. Rang & was advised to bring back - they provided correct dish in end but no compensation (eg take off bill for inconvenience)for having to drive back or even an apology which would have sufficed.Decided to try again in October - yet again got back home & the order was wrong - definitely not 2 chicken tikka masala’s. Rang again as definitely. It doing 40 mile for a take away again & they said they will take off next bill but not going to bother going back a third time!!Prices are fairly expensive for a takeaway & rice does not come with dishes.Food was average if you get the right thing but service is awful.

Arrived at restaurant midweek. A few empty tables but manager not interested in offering us a table. Asked if we could book a table for later, again not really bothered and barely looked up to talk to us. Don't bother unless you want terrible service

Recently had a meal at the restaurant/takeaway and had a funny experience.The restaurant had about 4 tables with people eating however there must have been 10 people waiting for takeaways.There was one person in front of house taking orders for the tables and the takeaways so much so that we had to get our beers from the fridge go behind the bar and get glasses and a bottle opener.We found out that our ladies could not have a drink unless it was a beer or soft drink.Luckily we had a bottle of brandy and a bottle of diet coke with us.There is a sign in the window saying bring your own bottleSaying that the food was good and reasonably priced

The food was served quickly, and was top drawer.. all 4 dishes really good. Tandoori mixed grill is all my son will order, and he said this was the best that he’d ever had. My chicken chilli garlic was one of the best I’ve ever had. The food was spot on.Drink selection is poor (but you can take your own - we didn’t know this).The decor is also tired and a bit shabby. This is we are only reviewing to 4 stars.The one waiters could cheer up a bit, but they were ok.

On a recent visit to Twywn we fancied dining out and as a Indian cuisine lover with Bangladeshi heritage my standards are to a high level. Dine India appeared dated in decor and appearance yet this in no way reflects on the divine food that was served to us! Order was as follows: Chicken Madras, Lamb Rogan Josh, Keema Pilau Rice, Chips and a Garlic and Corriander Naan. Everything was served hot and was all gorgeous and full of flavour yet the naan given was a garlic and cheese.. not something I personally enjoy yet we did have the offer to change as it was incorrect to which we chose to go with it and try something new. The naan albeit wrong was still lovely smaller than the size you would usually expect but I wouldn’t mark down for this at all. I believe you are aloud to take your own alcohol yet there are some spirits served. (Not a wide or popular range in my opinion but each to their own). We had soft drinks so cannot provide any further detail on range. The man who welcomed us and served us was friendly and efficient in his duties to which made us feel comfortable and tended to. This is a small restaurant but lovely for a family, couple or friend based meal and I will most definitely return on my next visit!!

Please note the following: -It’s cash only.They don’t serve wine, but are happy for you to bring your own bottle. The appearance is just like any other Indian restaurant. The food is really good and the man serving us was happy to explain how certain dishes were prepared. Plus, we couldn’t believe how cheap it was compared to the other restaurant a few doors down. Well worth a visit.

Really impressed with our visit, the food was well prepared, presented and extremely tasty. Butterfly prawns & shish kebab both beautiful starters. For main there was mixed tandoori grill, dine India special, chicken dupiaza, house special balti with rice and naan. To put it simply, there was nothing left. One of tastiest Indian meals we've had in a very very long time. We will definitely visit again. Note you can take your own drinks and must pay with cash. Scored 4 purely based on food.

Superb Authentic Indian cuisine , Lovely Eastern Flavours, One of the finest Indian Meals that I have ever had, My main Was The Balti King Prawn Saag, My Wife had A Vegetarian Meal Which She Really Enjoyed, And despite the face that they were very busy we were made to feel welcome and got excellent service, 5 Star ***** I'll Be Back!Very Reasonable Prices.

Hubby and i have been Dine India tonight for our Anniversary ,,,we had the onion Bahjis and then chicken Tika Masala ,,it was fantastic ,plenty of it and nice and hot ,,The waiter was very fiendly ,its a small restaurant just what we like ,reasonable priced too, we will be going back again ,,Thank You ..

Really rude service. I honestly don’t think they wanted any customers, we were treated completely indifferently. Very strange. Cold atmosphere. No idea what vegan means. The food was rubbish, way way below average. Portion sizes very small. Avoid if you can.

Waited 2 hours for main course, only one waiter to deal with restaurant, deliveries and take aways, when it came some food was cold and others bore no resemblance to what was ordered, avoid at all costs.

I wouldn't even give this restaurant 1 star if I had the option! We are on holiday and fancied a takeaway- phoned to order and were told they do not do deliveries and would be collection only which wasn't the end of the world. My boyfriend walked down to collect and it was ready very quickly, very expensive and very distasteful, it looked shocking and was barely Luke warm. Wouldn't ever order from here again and to make things worse the guy wasn't particularly polite on the phone and it took ages for anybody to realise my boyfriend was actually in the restaurant when he went to collect it!

The food we received was not what we are used to in our area. We ordered 2 separate dishes but looked exactly the same however the food was very nice and would happily order whatever it was if we knew (it seamed like a traditional Indian home cooked curry) the place was pleasant, toilets clean and would be happy to visit again.

These are the best Indian in tywyn..I asked for a chicken tikka wrap which they don't have on the menu and they made me one..and for that iam so grateful and happy!! Thank you guys so much..

Quit possibly the biggest dump I have ever had the missfortune to visit.Four of us attended on a Saturday evening,the place is worn out and downright scruffy,my curry cosisted of mainly raw peppers and chillies with 4 tiny bits of chicken it should have been a combo the lamb was non existant.The waiter was the most arrogant we have ever experienced.In all "JUST DON'T GO THERE".

Been here a lot recently! Food is amazing! Very polite man doing the service! Does eat in and take out..I’ve never had any problems the food portions are very good, Prices also..if you are in the area you should definitely visit..not the biggest restaurant but quality food that’s all that matters

Visited on a Thursday evening & it was pretty quiet inside the restaurant but we chose our seats & ordered our food. The curry was excellent as was the service received & we also got a taxi ordered by the staff. I would recommend the restaurant & would definitely eat there again, great curry.

We waited inside the restaurant for several minutes before we were eventually greeted... by the chef. Apparently someone else was "coming in a minute". The chef himself took our order and disappeared into the kitchen to cook it - while we sat waiting for our drinks. The waiter (and our drinks) finally appeared just before our meals arrived. The food was reasonably good but the service left much to be desired.

Chose this for food over the other curry house based on the 5 food hygiene in the window ( I don’t really trust places if they chose not to display this.) Ordered basic options because recipes change from place to place. Had chicken tikka massala, chicken dhansak, keema rice, keema nan and poppadoms. All food tasted lovely. Plenty of meat in the curry. Good sized portions. Poppadoms were really nice (not oily like they sometimes can be). Only downside was they hanged per poppadom when most places tend to jus put some in for free.

After twenty years of eating at the the other Indian restaurant we decided to try Dine India and we were pleased we did. The food, service and surroundings were good and the menu choices good also.

Had a delicious takeaway on the Saturday evening, so tasty we had the same again on thursday! Lovely friendly staff..

Average food, not a lot of chicken in the curry's although the sauce is quite good. If dining in, it is quite hot with no air con or air flow. Decor is hideous!

My husband and I went for a meal last Wednesday and we both absolutely loved it. I had the special biryani, which was one of the best I’ve ever had and my husband had some sort of chicken curry (can’t remember exactly which one) and he too enthused over it. We also had a Nan which again was first class. The service was also good. Will definitely go back again next time we are here.

While there was a lot of it, it didn't taste of very much and was pretty greasy and dull. The vegetables in it were overcooked and the curry sauce was thin and watery.

We had not been in Dine India for a meal for a long time, previous experience wasn't good. We were recommended to try Dine India again, my daughter even saved me some of her take away to try. It was very tasty, we decided to try the restaurant again. I am very pleased to say we had an excellent meal. The service was very good. We will certainly be going back for another meal.

My friend and I tried this place whilst on a short break. The food was very nice and the cleanliness of the place was of a good standard. The only thing that I felt let it down was the one guy answering a very busy phone, taking walk in orders and trying to take orders from the seated customers. The starter plates were left on the table even when the main courses were delivered.

Despite my previous review - see below - I decided to give this place another chance. To be utterly honest it was the only restaurant open after having been to the nearby cinema! This time a different gentlemen quickly got off the telephone as we walked in again on a deserted restaurant and took our order and kindly allowed me to bring to the table what was left of the bottle of wine I had bought while watching the film. The food was freshly prepared and was good and tasty. Only three little niggles - there was nothing to put our extra side dishes on to keep them hot so they quickly became cold, strangely the two tables either side of ours had not been cleared away and the front of house guy spent most of our meal chatting on the telephone at the front desk. However despite this I am pleased to report that we enjoyed the meal so thought it was only fair to leave a more recent review than the previous one.

We called into this restaurant on spec and although there was plenty of room on arrival, the place soon filled up and became pretty busy within about twenty minutes. although there was only one member of staff front of house, he managed to juggle serving the sit down customers, takeaway customers and handle phone orders without being flustered. The food itself was very good and is highly recommended. we had a vegetable biryani and Chicken Malaya along with a Peshwari naan and all were to a very good standard. We wouldn't hesitate in coming to Dine India again.

We went to the Cinema in Tywyn and fancied some food afterwards. Just up the road from the Cinema there are a few eateries, so we went to take a look. I really like Indian food, we all do, the trouble is most Indian restaurants are fake, being mainly Pakistani or Bangladeshi. They copy Indian dishes so we have an Indian meal cooked by someone who isn't Indian.

Service was very good ,friendly staff and the food is delicious. We ordered take away meals on two different nights while staying in Tywyn and both times were ready when they said they would be. ,

We eat here all the time food and service are always very good we tie it in with going to Tywyn cinema and it works well as always served fast all curry dishes are different and we love the tandoori mixed grill thanks see you soon :)

Ordered at 7.35 to be ready for 8.15 still waiting at 8.40 and later .... not good enough! Food is normally ok just very disappointed in how slow they were not even busy season yet 😩

I am greatly saddened to leave this review especially as I was just about to post one about a delicious meal we had enjoyed here a few weeks before. This time I should have realised that all was far from well when I looked into the window an hour earlier and saw the owner/manager pacing around his deserted restaurant wearing a base ball cap and a thick black leather jacket. When we walked in later there was a guy waiting for his takeaway and he smiled when we asked the owner/manager if he was able to fit us in and could we have his best table. He gesticulated to a table by the only visible heater - it was next to one covered with food hygiene reports, other paperwork and his baseball cap. Then without giving us menus or offering us a drink he disappeared into the kitchen. We waited for about five minutes and then got up to look for a menu - as we could not find one on any other table we opened the kitchen door and asked if we could have some service. Our leather coated friend abruptly said there was another customer before us and started helping the chef pack the take away order - I gently wondered then why it took two of them to do it! Eventually after carrying out the order to the waiting customer he came to our table clutching menus but by then neither of had the stomach to remain. Maybe he was having a bad night and it appeared that there were only two of them running the place but they were certainly not rushed off their feet and one would have thought on a very quiet Wednesday evening our money for a three course meal together with drinks might have been very useful to this establishment. We felt that from the moment we had arrived 'mine host' made no attempt to be welcoming in any way - it was if he felt that he was the one doing us the favour and we genuinely believe he could have been so much more hospitable. In fairness I am not going to leave a damaging low overall rating as the last meal was so good and indeed we were served by a much more obliging person but maybe something could be learnt from this. Twenty minutes later while carrying our Chinese meal home, Dine India was still devoid of any other diners but all was right with the world ........ as the guy had his blue baseball hat back on his head again.

Tuvimos una comida aquí, el 28 de diciembre la comida era muy buena, pero toda la experiencia fue decepcionante por el servicio lento y reticentes. Más de dos horas para ser servido de nuestros amigos en una mesa cercana había y esperar incluso más tiempo. El camarero era lamentable y al final, el chef había de servirnos, fue muy agradable. Una pena, pero nunca más para mí en este lugar. Si coge un gran libro! !

I visited early on a Monday evening, there were only two others in there. I don't know if there was a staff shortage but one of the chiefs appeared to be doing everything. From cooking, serving and answering the phone for takeaway orders. He was not up to the minimum standard that I would expect from a waiter, scruffy to say the least.If I was marking on food alone my meal was definitely five star the green pepper stuffed with lamb was the best I have ever eaten.

I have visited Dine India on a number of occasions during the summer for eat in and takeaway meals. I have found a good menu with a good choice to suite most people's taste's who enjoy Indian food. The food I have requested has always been very tasty and of sound quality and I have not once had to question anything they have provided me with....I have also found the staff friendly and always happy to have a quick chat, even at busy times. I fully intend to eat here again next summer.

Dine India is a standard asian restaurant who maintain an excellent standard. They have a few siignature dishes but specialise in classic anglo asian taste and they do it very well. We have never been disappointed.

We've been going here for around 2)3 years now when we visit our caravan, it really is a hit a miss place..... We ate in this time, started with popadoms, the salad for these had drops of the yoghurt in? Which made us think had this just been topped up from the last table :/ as well as the other metal dishes not looking clean an fresh :/ The starters were good, baring the salad, which was a side of white cabbage? (normally lettuce ect) 2 curry's the korma was nice, but my dupiaza wasn't great at all an just picked out the chicken! But what was really bad is the cheesy nann!!! Made with cheap cheese singles, we was totally shocked by this!!! Not what you'd expect! So the place is hit an miss, an a real shame!!! Don't think we will be returning

Great food and a good choice of drinks. The takeaway service is goo, fast and a great choice of food. Have tried several different dishes all good. The restaurant is also good too.

Einfach anmutendes Ambiente aber ganz hervorragende Küche und Qualität. Wir hatten zwei Hähchengerichte, die absolut top waren. Gutes Geflügel, hervorragende Gewürzkomposition und das scharfe Gericht hielt was es versprach. Sehr zu empfehlen.

We didn't eat in so can't comment on the restaurant service etc but the takeaway was fantastic, good prices and amazing food, would absolutely recommend.

Ordered over the phone for on 31/9/16 for collection as they didn't deliver as stated on here. Got back to our holiday home and our starters and poppadoms were missing . Called to ask and they had given them to someone else , I asked if a member of staff could bring our food as we were only up the road and it was too dark to walk out again with my children as my youngest is only 3 and I was here alone with my children and don't drive, and they couldn't . So after a second journey (15 mins there 15 mins back) they gave us a refund for our missing items instead of cooking us new ones . So by the time we got back our food was cold and half of it missing. It was also that full of grease it had soaked through the bag and dripped all over the floor. Rice was flavourless and keema naan had no keema.... would advise to avoid at all costs. It is the worst curry iv ever tasted ! NEVER AGAIN !

This is a popular place for both dining in and taking away exotic food. They are licensed and friendly. The curries are not over-hot. The premises are clean and tidy.

Travelled 15 minutes each way to collect takeaway from caravan park so wasn't best pleased when one of the 3 main meals was missing. However, probably did us a favour as all the other food apart from the Papadums were awful & swimming in grease. I was offered a refund when i telephoned to complain (not sure if this was just for the madras or everything) but could not be bothered to travel back !!

A nice meal out for my partner and I. Tasty curries and vegetable dishes that were not excessively salted.The restaurant does not take credit cards so remember to visit the cash machine first.Would recommend and would go again.

Visited here whilst on holiday. Restaurant looked dated and uninspiring. Was quite busy. Only one man at front of house doing orders, phone and waiting. He did a remarkable job.We started with poppadoms and was slightly confused by the cucumber/yogurt dip. It was orange! Tasted ok though. Then had a kebab chicken grill. This was brought to us before we had finished poppadoms so felt a little rushed. We then followed with two curries, rice, garlic naan and saag alòo. Nicely garnished with coriander, but nothing outstanding in taste. Followed with a lemon and orange sorbet which was nice.All good served was red hot on pre warmed plates. However flavours were average and it did not stand out from anywhere else have been.

Only a small village,but it has a little gem.my wife and i were a bit wary at first as not many people around the place but once you spoke to the manager he makes you feel welcome,food was great,plates red hot as was the food,the chef even came out to ask if all was ok,nice touch.highly recommend this place

On a two day visit to Tywyn and at 10.45pm on Friday night Dine India was all but empty and the Proprietor wasn't really interested in the two of us dining in. He did however relent and agreed to serve us. This is a sleepy seaside town and we were pleased that he was going to serve us this late. My pal had a Chicken biryani which when it turned up was - in his words "Perfect" I usually take a while to decide but in the circumstances I asked for a King Prawn Korai. A test dish of mine when trying a new restaurant and one which always finds them out.This dish was not on the menu and the Proprietor said sure he would do it. Frankly I was not expecting much - but when my meal arrived it was perfect in every respect. A flavoursome, slightly more spicy thick sauce than a Bhuna, perfectly cooked prawns and - for what is for me the test, wonderful glazed pieces of green capsicum. Shiny, glossy and not - as is so often the case Stewed! A late night surprise that I wasn't expecting. Best king prawn Korai since a similar piece of perfection 30 years ago on the legendary 'Rajdoot' in Wimbledon Village.

Popped in for a meal but didn't book!! Got in no problem. Very busy with takeaways and kind off missed service!!! Been before no problem, poor chap must of done 10k while I was there... More staff needed just 1 but food was good and we weren't in a hurry luckily we would use again probably for a takeaway a lot quicker.....happy staff though I'd of bin stressed well done that man!

This is our local indian take away,, it's not the best but it is better than the other take away just down the road, so it will have to do.

This place is a bit hit and miss....some days the food is spot on but others it's so disappointing. One curry and rice will cost you nearly £10 so not cheap if you don't enjoy it.I don't know why but they can't make a proper kurma it's never how I remember it which is a shame, it's more like a bland curry.Worth a visit as it is freshly cooked and if u catch it on a good day then great!

Called in for a takeaway, friendly staff, great food, can't fault it at all, well worth it. Would have liked to try dining in but didn't get time. Well recommended.

This hidden gem really is a must-see in Tywyn. Staff were well dressed and as enthusiastic as one could wish for. We were guided into what felt like little India in Tywyn, and shown to a private table. Fortunately for us, the restaurant was quieter than it deserved so our food arrived promptly. Our waiter answered any questions we had about the menu and had a complete knowledge of all dishes available. As for the curry, well.. a taste sensation! The rice was deliciously fluffy, the curry itself was creamy and delicious with hints of Indian spices. The melt-in-the-mouth chicken was cooked to perfection and was full of flavor. To sum up this taste extravaganza, this is the best curry on the coast of mid Wales!

the food is absolutely amazing! I really enjoyed my meal and the staff are really nice :) I also would recommend the Sunday buffet as its all you can eat but for a brilliant price.

Looking for food we found Dine India. Everything was as it should be - great food & ambiance. Our waiter had everything timed, as soon as we'd finished one course along came another.

the currys were very tasty and enjoyable. A good curry house with good service and reasonably priced.

Great food enjoyed my meal there the only problem is that it does not take cards but that is not a real problem for great food at a good price
