Madelina Café in Lambeth

Como cliente habitual pensé que esta gran cafetería no puede sorprenderme más. La calidad, la comida fresca y el café es algo que puedo acostumbrarme muy rápido, pero Madelina Brixton recientemente abrió noches de vino todos los viernes y sábados y esto fue una gran sorpresa. Definitivamente recomiendo esta cafetería por lo que se ofrece todos los días y por un gran ambiente con buen vino y deliciosas carnes curadas y tablas de quesos finos en las noches de vino.

Estábamos buscando un café en el área de Brixton y vinimos aquí. El menú parecía tan agradable que decidimos almorzar mientras estábamos allí. Wow! La comida era deliciosa, opciones vegetarianas realmente encantadoras y porciones generosas de comida fresca de sabor hermoso! Muy bonito pequeño café con personal amable - volveremos!

Cold coffee. Leathery pastry. 10% service charge paid at till for someone to grunt at you and walk 5 paces from till to your table. No doubt out of business in 6 months and wondering why.

We went for brunch and it was lovely. The place is really cute. We went for the eggs Benedict and were lovely. The girl and guy working there were really friendly. I would come back! The coffee mugs are stunning and are for sale if you wish to buy one!

It advertises itself as dog friendly, strangely doesn’t offer any water to dogs and let their house dog pee to mark his territory whenever another dog comes in. We were lucky he didn’t pee on my husband’s coat which was on his chair, the dog peed on literally a couple of ce time gets away and indoors. Thanks for the welcome (hygiene and smell). The food is ok, nothing spectacular and the salad they give is old so we asked for another one and they brought a similarly old salad where I had to really pick out the only few leaves that were ok. To top it all they make you pay for the food and the automatically I clouded tip before even serving you anything so you pay for service before it even happens… we won’t be returning.

The food was excellent, fresh & well sourced for quality. Both my eggs & the bacon were clearly high quality as was the sourdough. Staff charming & very helpful, prices excellent for the quality. Add to this a charming rear outdoor area & it was a stylish & enjoyable surprise off the main beat of Lordship Lane.

This cafe is between Brixton and Clapham so is easily accessible, including via public transport. Going out for breakfast, but wanting a cooked breakfast can often be tricky as eggs aren't properly cooked or the tomatoes are from a tin. Not in this case. I had the veggie option and it included grilled halloumi, spinach among what you'd come to expect. The beetroot balls were intriguing and tasty. Not cheap, but not pricy either.
