We stopped in here on a Sunday after our original restaurant plan had stopped serving food earlier than expected. They fit us in at 7:40 even though the kitchen closes at 8pm. The lamb shank Sunday roast was so delicious! They also offer large (250ml) pours of wine. Friendly staff and delicious food. Definitely a must see if staying close to the Waterloo area.

This was a lovely find whilst waiting for a lecture at the IWM nearby. Great selection of beers, very friendly atmosphere with engaging and attentive staff. It was really nice having bar staff with a fantastic sense of humour. I didn't have food but what I could see on people's plates looked appetising. I will try to get back for another visit and next time stay longer.

Lovely Sunday lunch, highly recommended. The pub has new owners since the start of the 2024 year, and it was interesting to speak to locals who said they have returned to visting here now that the previous owner has gone, who was apparently a lunatic.

I popped into The Three Stags on a very rainy day whilst was exploring London. it was a nice big pub/restaurant which was nicely laid out. There was a nice choice of food available on the menu. The only point I was surprised about was that the menu did not include prices... As my good old dad use to say, "If you have to ask the price you cannot afford it" so I settled for a packet of crisp - haha. I enjoyed a nice pint of Guinness and my crisps in a small both called the Chapin's Corner... All in all a nice boozer to rest my sore feet and shelter from the rain. Would I return? that would be a YES. Some of my reviews may seem unforgiving but I come from a time when everything was not “Awesome” and “near enough was not good enough”. So, if I say something is “Excellent” that is because it is somewhere better than most others… and well worth considering visiting. I hope this review was of help, please consider following my travels & reviews in the autumn of my life.

The visit to this pub was a disappointing experience. Despite the obvious atmosphere of a pub, the staff seemed to have little understanding of the basic concept that guests come here to enjoy beer in good company. After casually sitting with my friends and savoring our drinks, we were inexplicably kicked out of the establishment. Apparently, engaging in what pubs are typically known for is unwelcome here. A perplexing decision that left us puzzled. This place is definitely more suited for flower enthusiasts than beer lovers.

I'm gonna be honest, I'm a bit of a recluse and don't usually venture out socially.. But let me tell you this place is faaar from generic. It was absolutely wonderful to grab a pint & v🎶be somewhere with an actual identity in 2023 (which is a big deal for me) this bar/restaurant is very unique, picturesque and locally sourced - as I entered, (I later discovered it was the owner himself) was helping a young man to be through the dessert menu lol 🍧🍰🍮🍨 shortly after I got his full attention and although staff was behind the bar serving other customers he jumped behind the bar and served me a pint after a short and friendly discussion on what was to my taste, I got the London Black (listen.. watch out Guinness!) - the owner "Richard" (he reminded me of Marco Pierre White lol) & "Ally" (the gorgeous Australian food & beverage assistant) were rocking & rolling - Bouncing off each other.. clearly, because I know their names already. Very welcoming: It was literally like going home to a warm reception.. but with beer 🍻😇 Listen, no more words - I can't recommend this place enough, from the artwork to the lovely staff - I was looked after, I'm definitely gonna bring my daughter here one weekend for her first roast dinner given this reception. Sincerely cheers guys & thank you for going the extra mile, for having your own identity and for providing more than just the standard customer service. 5🌟

Can't actually say anything about the food since the waitress was very unwelcoming and rude and made us leave before we ordered. One queue for the whole bar. Rude staff. Won’t be going back. Edit: You had two large bookings, plus other drop ins, over two floors and decided you’d only have one staff member taking both food and drinks orders. That queue was a result of your choice. You then argued with me about the price of the wrong beer since your staff member didn’t listen properly the first time and only tried to confirm my choice after you’d got involved. Since I was hungry as well and could see that I’d have to come back to this ridiculous queuing system to order food, on a Monday night, I opted to leave.

This Victorian pub is on the corner of Kennington Road and Lambeth Road, is one of the closest to the Imperial War Museum and also pretty near Southwark Cathedral. It does not open until 12 pm though there are a couple of tables with benches outside so, in good weather at least, you can sit comfortably if you arrive early. It’s disabled friendly with a spotlessly clean disabled-accessible loo, advertised on The Three Stags website And recommended by The Good Dog Guide as dog friendly - mine was offered water on arrival - and just a very nice, simply decorated place to meet friends, have a drink and eat good food. Inside is a pub-restaurant rather than just a simple drinking place though the large wooden bar certainly provides plenty of space if you just want a pint, but the tables are all bookable for either lunch or dinner service. My friend and I were made very welcome and accommodation was made in regard to our disabilities immediately the need was perceived. Our server throughout the meal was a charming, friendly and efficient Aussie. The menu wasn’t the usual massively extensive list (which you Know means that most of it’s going to have been bought in and microwaved ‘fresh’ for you!) but a considered, fresh, limited, very tasty collection of well cooked plates. Vegetarians and vegans are catered for, more interestingly so in the main courses than the starters, as are children. I chose two dishes from the to share/starters, calamari and sticky chicken wings. Both were very generous portions, the batter on the calamari crisp and the garlic mayo creamy. A nice addition was the generous piece of lime instead of the ubiquitous lemon! The chicken wings were quite spicily dressed and deliciously sticky with finely sliced spring onion both prettying it up and adding a little fresh kick here and there. Along with the chilled tap water requested, I had a glass of what was to me a new white wine, a Cataratto from Sicily which was the perfect foil to the fried food having the most delicious fruit, slight acidity and wonderful flavour. There are several wines served by the glass in red, white and rosé in 175 cl. or 250 cl. measures as well as a few more just by the bottle. Wine is not cheap but neither did I feel that I was being taken too much advantage of, especially as the wines are a more than usually interesting selection. My vegetarian friend decided upon the spicy lentil burger with sriracha mayo and skin-on chips which she said was delicious and just what she’d fancied. Her craft beer, too, was very special; an IPA-type beer (not a lager!), it was well chilled, had a fruity scent and wasn’t too hoppy - she described it as perfect but, unfortunately, I cannot remember its name … The Three Stags is now a Free House. It’s a great pub for its local community, drop-ins and tourists alike. It offers better food than usually available, a good selection of craft and regular tap beers and good wine as well as the expected, wide selection of cocktails, spirits and soft drinks. It has good transport links and is on a less traveled path for tourists despite being not much more than half a mile from the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, etc. It’s just started offering Jazz and Pizza on Sundays and my friend and I are looking forward to going to The Three Stags again for that!

I called in here to meet a friend and we had a glass of sauvignon blanc each, although it was a nice wine £14:60 for 2 glasses I felt was a little bit expensive. On the plus side though they accepted cash which I think is great as most of the other pubs in the Area are card only!
