This is a great takeaway fish and chips establishment with a fantastic atmosphere and great staff .4£3 chips are the best I have tasted anywhere. Excellent value and always very welcoming

Excellent fish and chip shop. The Ramsey go to. After a once overcooked haddock, they have excelled on every visit since. The fish is excellent, chunky and tasty, the chips always piping hot and the mushy peas and curry sauce standard fair, yet piping hot. I have had the chicken and chips too. Moist chicken in a lovely batter (though don’t put salt on it until you have tried it first!). Staff are engaging and care and the prices are great value too. I would recommend a large chips and share them between two people. A standard chips is a lot for one person.

A busy chippy which is a good sign. Chips were fresh and delicious, sadly the freshly cooked large haddock was woefully over cooked resulting in that dry stringy texture. Batter poor also. Bizarrely a gentleman who ordered after me actually asked for his fish to be cooked less, perhaps overcooking is the norm?

Only nipped in for chips. Despite there being a one-way system inside, the chap in front of me insisted to exit in the opposite direction to that which was marked. This meant barging past me despite there being a clear route on the other side. Staff weren't bothered. Chips were okay.

First time to use this fish shop. Friendly staff and quality fish and chips at a very cheap price. The fish was delicious and so many chips. Lovely.

Lived in this town for a while but never tried this fish shop before . My partner and me took the plunge and after to say glad we did. Portions The portion sizes were very good and bigger than we expected Taste The chips were of good texture and the taste was lovely on the taste buds. I would recommend a visit if you ever come to Ramsey

Service is always good. Lollipops for the kids a nice touch. But the quality of the produce lets it down rather too often. Facing stiff competition from the White Whale and rarely meets it with anything credible.

I am impressed that this chippy has a 5 star hygiene rating and they appear to be a friendly bunch but.... Poor... the chips were greasy and stuck together, the mushy peas were like bullets and the sausage I had was stone cold. I am not from the area and I can only imagine that if you are, you have little other choice so you have to just grin and bear it and don’t know what a proper chippy should be like. Sorry guys, you are nice but your food is pretty rubbish

Good quality food and friendly staff. They have a good range of items and a meal for two doesn't break the bank.

Typical fish and chips highly recommend visit regularly but I would much prefer an establishment who accepts credit debit cards bit dated needs to get with the times

Staff are very helpful always have a smile on their faces, can be rather busy, food is very good, fish is always battered nicely not thick and greasy like other fish shops. Portions are large but are priced very reasonable. Would recommend this place.

The fish and chips have always been nothing but perfect every time we have visited. Prices are reasonable, portion sizes are fantastic and the staff are always friendly and chatty. Definitely worth a visit!

I'm not a regular Fish and Chip buyer, but when I do, I like to go for the best, and I get it here. The chips are perfectly fried and you get a great mound of them. The fish is always fresh and freshly cooked. You have to wait to be served most of the time, so that means that they are cooking fresh for you and the place is very popular. On top of that the people behind the counter are the friendliest,happiest, most courteous bunch of people you would ever want to serve you.

Best fish & chips in Ramsey, a nice plaice (see what I did there?) run by very nice people and very generous portion sizes too.

Every time we go here it's brilliant always fresh and made to order the staff are lovely always helpful and have a smile on there face

Cuando vamos a la costa nos hubiera gustado el pescado y las patatas fritas eran tan buenas como Madeira. Si te gusta el pescado más que empanada se puede conseguir algo mejor! Odiamos la grasos mejor champán y prefieren un pasta crujiente finas y funciona...

Muy buen pescado pero demasiadas fichas, única orden 1 porción para 2 personas. Teníamos recién preparado y eso significa que no ha estado demasiado tiempo. Blanco agradable y copos probado fresco

No vivió aquí largo pero también sirven pescado y patatas fritas siempre caliente y mucho más. Volveremos una y otra vez.

Really nice people with a friendly attitude, great service and a very clean establishment. The fish and chips are really good and the shop is quite close to a great public house where I can wait for them to be cooked! I never go anywhere else and would not hesitate to recommend them.

The best thing about the fish in Madeira is the fact that it comes without the unwelcome skin. That cannot be said of the newest fish & chip takeaway in town. Our meal tonight was all freshly cooked. Huge portion of chips and lovely flaky cod. If there is a criticism then it would be in the quality of sausages served but I am quite a stickler for a good meaty sausage and these don't quite hit the spot. That said they are pretty much on a par with those in other establishments in Ramsey. I have found that the servers at Madeira always greet you with a smile.

Tried the fried plaice and it was fantastic.Well fried, not to much oil in it, crusty on the outside and soft on the inside, perfect.

I have used this place a few time now. This chip portion's are big for the money & in my opinion there curry source is the best around. Unfortunately on this visit I asked for to 'COD' and chip's but what we had was not COD it was some other kind of fish. the sad true is a lot of chip shops are doing this now so when you ask for fish and chips you could be eating all types of fish. How ever I did ask for cod and got something different so for this my rating is poor.

With a name like Madeira you would not expect a Classic fish and chip shop. The fish in perfectly fryed, the fries are fantastic.

Just moved to Ramsey and after a hard day gardening I walked to the end of my road to find food...First chip shop I found was the Maderia. Nice and clean, not too busy. Ordered a pie and large chips and was amazed by the amount of chips I was given, easily enough for two meals. Very reasonably priced. The chips were fantastic - nice and hot and crispy. My only complaint - please use paper bags - plastic bags make the chips steam...

We always use this fish bar when we visit my wife's Nanna in Ramsey, It is always freshly cooked so you sometimes have to wait a little but its worth it fish and chips is best fresh not sitting around for hours like some. They do allow you to phone through your order so its ready when you want it.Parking is free right outside for up to 1 hour. big portions of chips so i recommend that you do not need a portion per person, Cod comes in 3 sizes Small, Med & Large.open until 22.30 most nights.
