Great place to eat and stay overnight. We had two nights in a Deluxe double room which was great, clean ,comfortable bed and a very nice clean shower room. The only thing I found to complain about was the size of the bed linen. Come on guys you need to use super king linen on a super king bed sheets that don’t tuck under the mattress and a quilt that doesn’t even reach the edge of the bed doesn’t work!! The pies are great

Stayed for two nights either side of a paddle through local Dudley caves. Booking and checking in was simple although getting through on the phone was very difficult. Deluxe room was fine with a nice en-suite. Food, with pies being the highlight, was very good and the restaurant service quick for such a busy place.

The famous pie factory, I've been here a couple of times in the last 10 years, it's a very quirky pub with sawdust on the floor. The food was hot and tasty, I couldn't eat all my gammon so was provided with a box to take it home. Will I visit it again? Hell yeah!

I've been here 7 or 8 times over the past 5 years. It had always been 5 star. Today it wasn't. Battered chips were very dry and cold. Absolutely not fresh at all. There's no excuse to be serving chips that bad. Normally your battered chips are top notch. Mushy peas also just didn't taste right. There was a very sour/off taste and smell, like something had gone off. It was 6pm and very quiet when we arrived, so maybe the chef felt they could pass off yesterday's/the afternoons food. Sort it out. Really disappointed. I'll come back again, but if it's not up to standard next time then it will be my last visit.

Returning to Mad O'Rourke's Pie Factory for the second time was an absolute treat. The experience was just as amazing, if not better. The **Lamb & Mint Pie** was again perfectly cooked, with succulent lamb and a refreshing mint kick, wrapped in that signature flaky, golden crust. Paired with a **Guinness in Black**, the meal hit all the right notes—comforting, flavorful, and filling. The atmosphere is lively, and the service top-notch, making the entire visit well worth the price. This place has definitely become a favorite for quality pub fare!

Cold and wet Tuesday, arrived at 5.15, asked for a table, now I don't expect a red carpet but a smile, a hello, any kind of greeting would be nice (aren't we in the Black Country supposed to be friendly??) instead I get a surly face asking if I'd booked a table, it's 5.15 guys, there's only three or four tables occupied so why not just seat us?? Then as we take our table we're told we must vacate by 7.00, I felt like, and should have vacated then, talk about being made to feel welcome? If a business survives on repeat trade I'm afraid you're going about it the wrong way. And cold!!! freezing in there, nice big fire at the end of the restaurant, might be an idea to light it, just a thought, although that would mean losing a table. Food, average, nothing to complain about apart from cold chips, saltiest gammon I've ever had and a fairly nasty pork chop so nothing to really shout about either. Honestly, you will thrive as a destination pub/restaurant on your hospitality, value for money and quality, if the owners really care they should read some of these reviews and take note... there are other places to go, which is good cos I won't be bothering with this place again.

I'm Black country born&bred- so Black country, My great, great, great, great, great grandfather was William Perry;aka. The Tipton Slasher. This was a historically accurate Black Country monument - in 25 years it's turned into a trashy, mundane tourist trap, complete with overpriced, mass produced food, zero atmosphere - do they even sell Lumphammer (that was the "little pubs" brewery signature drink) in pints or would that have to be litres too? It was wooden benches, spit& sawdust on the floor, cow pies in a 1.5 pint pudding basin filled to the brim with a hearty serving of stewed steak & kidney & gravy complete with a puff pastry lid and 2 puff pastry horns to "dip-in" (soak up any remnants of gravy- eat one and get the 2nd free. It was an eatery but still for many, a local pub with darts, dominoes and quiz team. Had the name not been at the top of the page, I wouldn't have even had recognised the place. Like London, it offers tourists an opportunity to empty their pockets and to witness first hand what the Black country absolutely was NOT. *Couldn't comment on "rooms" as this is the first I knew of their existence. **Service? What's that? Wait a minute - I do remember a lady dressed in an apron carrying steaming pies from the kitchen to the bar where rumbly tummies drank and talked ( no music as I recall) until the number on their raffle ticket was called. 💷I'm still trying to pick my jaw up from the floor where it dropped seeing the prices on the menu. ***Location: this is a museum piece and a very, very poor one at that. Hands up if you live within 20 miles and have been there within the past 25 years??? (I won't hold my breath).

Very filling the gravy inside pie was lush, there didn't seem to be many chips in the little basket but there was more than enough . Was more than a little bit disappointed in the puddings , we had a share platter says it would suit 3 people gosh wouldn't even feed 3 toddlers . It looked like they had gone in a supermarket and brought packs of tiny doughnuts, Brownies, , wavers choclate sauce , I'm sure it wouldn't of cost more than a pound to put together and they charged over £10 for it ! Shocking valve and disappointing after such a lovely main meal. Staff were friendly and the place was clean would go again but definitely not have a pudding

*Anaemic chips, poor quality pie, with over cooked chicken and undercooked pastry accompanied by a cold gravy. staff were an imperfect balance between ignorant and arrogant.* Wholly rushed, entirely overlooked. The staff couldn’t look myself and my accompanying patrons in the eyes, ignoring our table for over 20 minutes while they ate pot noodles (boding well that the staff avoided the restaurant food). Followed by the rude staff trying to collect our dishes before we were finished. I was forced to hold my plate to resist the removal of my food half finished after telling the server we were not finished. I understand a busy service can be stressful but this was totally uncalled for. Upon arrival to the pub we ordered a drink, the server rudely asked if we were eating because we ‘must have a table immediately’. Keeping in mind the venue was empty. - often times, it is not what you say, it is how you say it. If the evening was heavily booked a little advice of this would go a long way and we would book accordingly. Self described world’s best pie… unlikely! 🤢🥶 I have never left a review prior to this, I believe positive feedback is best provided directly and negative comments/reviews are unproductive online or otherwise. I was left feeling genuinely awful and with a sense of anxiety over the food consumed. Wholly summed up as arrogantly ignorant, seasoned with a vindictive service with major lack of quality to back it up. Welcome to Wolverhampton… Not to mention the rooms were advertised as en suite only to find a communal shower and toilet. The TV did not work and rooms were characterless and bland meanwhile advised as fun and quirky. Everyone’s experience is different and this demonstrates how poor staff can be responsible for ruining potentially great establishments.

I used to come loads before I moved away, I went today with my family for a carvery I used to absolutely love their carverys. Unfortunately it just wasn’t the same as it used to be I know things change but when it’s changed in a bad way it’s just a shame. The turkey was nice the pork was dry and chewy and the beef was full of hard fat (I know this could be the cut of meat but maybe give people a heads up if they want it) the stuffing used to be so good cooked with gravy, the stuffing today was just dry with a tiny bit of gravy. The roast potatoes were soft not even abit crispy. The broccoli, cauliflower was always my favorite here but the veg was hard and the whole thing was tasteless. It had gone up in price like everywhere else I don’t mind that at all but when it’s gone downhill it is a disappointment. Such a shame.

My partner and I visited yesterday and ordered a starter to share which was nice, then a pie each for our mains. While my partner ordered the mint lamb pie, I ordered the "Peppa Pig" bbq pulled pork pie. We also ordered drinks where my partner asked for a pint of orange Tango and I ordered an orange juice with ice. She received a smaller bottle and was then told they don't do them in pints, and my orange juice didn't come with ice. Then our pies came, and my partners' one came full to the pastry with chunks of lamb - gorgeous. However my bbq pulled pork one was very heavy on the sauce and very little pulled pork compared to how much lamb was in my partners' pie. In fact when we had both finished, my partner had left some of hers, with a good several chunks of meat left in her pie pot at the bottom. Whereas mine was left with an inch deep of bbq sauce. The sauce was way too rich to enjoy in that quantity when you have so little meat. So the majority of the sauce was left. I passed on my feedback to the staff who apologised to be fair, and said they'd pass on to the kitchen. Then we had the bill, and we went up to the bar where the till was to pay. There were 3 or 4 members of staff walking around us and chatting to each other, completely ignoring us. I'm standing there with the receipt in my hand by the till, and being ignored. Not one of the staff had the decency to ask "can I help you?". I couldn't believe I had to say to the nearest one "Is this where we pay the bill?" and then she proceeded to bring up the required amount on the till for me to pay. Needless to say I wasn't impressed by my first visit. If we come again I shall definitely be trying a different pie, but will hope the service improves by then too.

Went with my colleague and felt so unwelcoming. 1st time it was busy festive period, so couldn't complain as they were busy. 2nd time it was normal weekdays. 25% occupied tables. Went to bar for a drink and one of the staff asked if we had booked table. When we said no, one of the staff staff said you need to go back (few steps) and wait there. It was like we had crossed the border of another country without Visa and needed permission now. It's not what was said but how rude the tone was. My colleague end up completing her sentence adding "please". No reaction but stonedead face. We would have waited if there was a sign or receptionist like I see in other places. I am not psychic to read invisible sign. We were instructed not to sit at certain tables and told it is table service. Fair enough we hadn't pre-booked. So take what is available. Table service seems wonderful till it turned to shameful service, when no show up for 15 -20 minutes. Finally, waiter arrived and wanted order for drink and food together. No sir, we replied that we need drink first and order the food later. It went well. When we nearly finished drink, another waitress managed to smile and took food order. I couldn't fault lamb pie but my colleague had chicken and mushrooms pie with one mushroom. Well, chickens and mushrooms look same! Just call it dried chicken pie. 90 minute later, when we were leaving . We noticed those special tables not to be occupied were still unoccupied. So I am wondering was it a plan for Asian faces to sit in a corner ? may or may not be. May be other people decide not to come. May be bland food not for everyone to enjoy. In nutshell, they need to put a sign "wait here" or a receptionist should be on site to greet. Staff need training for customer service, some etiquette, fake smiles and speak softly at least. I will book tables but will no show up. I am surprised why 25% table were occuoied. I am not going again. So Factory Pie ..bie bie.

Excellent food, really friendly staff. Legendary Beer. Had desperate dan pie could hardly finish as it was huge. Battered chips were awesome. Lumphammer Gold was brilliant. Even took some frozen pies and 2 pints of Lumphammer to go. Such an authentic old time experience. Highly recommended.

Last time the team behind the bar were pleasant and friendly, tonight think bar man was more interested in talking to regulars than service with a smile. As usual drink quality was good.

Good food, very hearty and filling. Staff were lovely and service was very quick. Drinks were good too. Plus, you can buy pies to takeaway and enjoy at home, along with 2 pints.

Recently took my husband for father's day as he's a big pie fan and I hadn't visited since I was a child. Still has the same authentic atmosphere with the sawdust on the floor. Food was spot on, great menu choice including a Sunday carvery, so all 6 of us could choose a variety of different meals. Portion sizes spot on, service good and prices were reasonable. Will definitely be back.

Good and bad .. I havnt been for around 15 years as not been near . However we did book 2 months ago and then lost our booking 🤔 so ended up going somewhere else ( so double check !! ) This time no problem. The ladies serving the table where 100% .. however the barman had a attitude & no customer service skills which I did point out to him . There was a large group of us and we ordered a few weeks prior as requested. We had the tables for only 2 hours which seemed a little short for such a big group . We all knew what we had to pay and had added a tip , ushered away from the table confussion set in and apparently 2 meals hadn't been paid for 🤔.. as it was a family and we had all added tip money not sure how that could happen so extra was paid . So suggest paying per table so that does not happen before your moved... Food was good !! I had mixed grill which was cooked OK and everyone else enjoyed . Would like to go again 🤔... however it's a bit cowboy run ... Getting home after seeing literature saying they did delivery of pies , thought it would be a nice touch for a member who was not with us . Website doesn't give information and I sent an email to them asking about if they was still offering the service .... email has bounced back and Facebook looks like you can't interact with management.... So it's a heads or tails whether we go again ... 🤔

The pub and service were great but the steak pie had way to much fat in it and when I taste fat I can't eat and the chips were really greasy like they were cooked in dirty fat , couldn't eat any of it but the pastry on the pie was nice
