We had the Best Afternoon Tea here. Everything was made fresh, fantastic selection of sandwiches. 4 huge pieces of cake for each person. And the biggest, and tasty scones. Great choice of Tea, coffeee and lemonade. Staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. Really great afternoon spent here. Also we had this tailored to our taste and allergies.

Visited for tea and cake with a friend, whom I had not seen for some time. Upon arrival, we found that the log burner wasn’t lit and the tea room was cold and somewhat damp – not very welcoming. However, the main reason for not going back was due to a member of staff having an exceptionally loud voice! We couldn’t hear ourselves speak and when she spoke to other customers (who she appeared to know), we were drowned out and we couldn’t wait to leave , as soon as our coffee and cake allowed. Shame really, as the coffee and cake were very good.

Visited here a couple of times. Great tea and cakes. Wonderful staff and a lovely feel to the place. Last visit was for a breakfast - found this to be a bit mediocre tbh. The full English was quite a small portion for £9.95. The plate was cold, the toast cold and hard, plus the coffee was weak and just tasteless. Having said this I like the place and would return. Maybe not for the breakfast though :)

We came for a wander in the gardens which are romantically wild, and stayed for tea. The tea rooms are very rustic but the quality of the cakes was very professional. We had a large slice of coffee and walnut and a slice of orange and proseco, with a generous helping of clotted cream. Both cakes were fresh and full of flavour. To drink we had an apple juice and a cappuccino. There were ample amounts of both. Generally , my husband is very critical of the coffee soI was surprised to hear that it was very good. Nice little cafe in the grounds of McPenny's Nurseries. What makes the place so good is the staff. No matter who is on duty, or what time you go, they are always helpful, and pleasant. Hot meals are served until 2 o'clock, but cakes and tea or coffee along with other drinks are served until closing time. The cakes are freshley made locally, meals are prepared when ordered also using local produce.I'm with Bernard R on this one agreeing with all he says about this lovely little place.we have been coming here frequently for a long time, and never is the service or food less than excellent. In response to Carol Nash,s observation about the toilets, These are the responsibility of the nursery, not the tea rooms....They do seem better cared for these days.

Well behaved dogs allowed in if they're in a lead which is great news for my Collie cross!! In doors and out doors seating areas ( both dog friendly). A great array of homemade cakes, breakfasts, panini's etc. A good pot of tea and a piece of warm Apple cake with clotted cream set me up for the rest of the day. Super place set in a real nursery - not a garden centre ! We go there all the way from Romsey quite often, and a feature is being able to get breakfast items all day. Very happy people in charge, pleasure to be there. Cakes excellent too !

We love to visit this delightful tearoom at our favourite nursery. The food is always good and the staff always cheerful and friendly. This is a special place for a relaxing coffee, breakfast or lunch.

Just wanted to take this opportunity to praise offbeet for never failing to deliver excellence. The restaurant was sadly closed by the government during the first wave of the pandemic and the team have bounced back during such a difficult time and adapted to meet with the ever changing government guidelines. They have created the new Offbeet deli open on weekends and I have to say, visiting on a Saturday for a doughnut and coffee is truly the highlight of my week. The team are always so welcoming and friendly and go out their way to assist and answer any questions that I might have. I would recommend to anyone! :)

No starters. Enjoyed the Cornish hake with spinach, mashed potatoes and asparagus and Mrs enjoyed the fish cakes. Smaller portions than expected but this meant we both had plenty of room for dessert and can report that the spiced rum and chilli soaked pineapple with mango pieces and coconut yoghurt was gorgeous. Draught Doom bar was disappointingly gassy, like lager, but overall experience was enjoyable. Beautiful views of coast, sea and IOW and gents toilet interestingly housed various signed football shirts. Dog friendly with separate section for well-behaved dogs. Rules for dogs are on the entrance hall wall!

This review is based on my experience on the day and could be different for you, but I doubt it. Superb service from this F&C take away and excellent food to boot to. Called ahead and asked if they cooked Gluten Free on a Saturday - was advised it was cooked Tuesday to Saturday- as one member of our party had an eating disorder. Complied our order and called back a 2nd time and placed the order and was told it would be made immediately. Drove there and collected it after paying. Superb service. FYI- they do not deliver so collection is the only option. F&C was excellent and tasty all found, no complaints and empty plates as was the add on food expected within a fish and chip shop that we purchased. Have to say the Saveloys were superb and very tasty. So to summarise, superb helpful staff, fantastic food, good for people with food allergies, all sorted very quickly Try it you will be back Trudy me on this.

I can honestly say this was one of the best restaurants I’ve eaten in and eaten in so many. The restaurant has a lovely, relaxed but special vibe. The staff are exceptional. The food was out of this world!!! Incredible ingredients, flavours and beautifully presented. We chose a red, an expensive red, but instead of taking our order, we were told it’s tanning and mix might not go with our dish. We were instead recommended a different wine that was so yummy we ordered a second. Super impressed. This is a destination restaurant and we’ll be back again and again

As usual we had a very enjoyable lunch here today. Despite having two vegetarians and one gluten free out of the five of us, nothing was too much trouble. We all had different very tasty roasts. Followed by some good desserts, the toffee roulade was great. The Ship’s Sunday roast is definitely the best around here.
