Esteemed Management, I am writing to express my profound disappointment with the accommodations provided during my recent stay at your hotel. I had the misfortune of booking a luxury room for a wedding, only to discover that it was in a deplorable condition. The room was not only filthy but also presented several safety hazards, including plug sockets hanging off the wall and a bathroom extractor fan held together with tape. Upon reporting these issues to the reception, I was offered an alternative room for the night, which unfortunately was not much of an improvement. Despite assurances that the maintenance team would address the problems and the room would undergo a thorough deep cleaning, neither of these promises was fulfilled. Upon returning to the original room, I was dismayed to find that the only cleaning that had been done was to half of the bathroom floor. This lack of attention to detail and disregard for the well-being of your guests is unacceptable. I feel strongly that the amount I paid for this room was not commensurate with the quality of the accommodations provided. The substandard conditions not only detracted from the enjoyment of my stay but also caused significant inconvenience and frustration. I have several photographs that clearly depict the state of the room, should you wish to review them. I trust that you will take appropriate action to rectify this situation and ensure that future guests do not encounter similar issues. Great hotel. Gym and pool really nice. Food was fantastic

The swimming pool was OK but needs alot of upgrading, the cleanliness of the sauna and steam room needs to be addressed. Here for a spa and rest day only used the pool for 45mins as the rest of the facilities aren't clean. The hotel itself needs modernised and there is such a stale smell throughout. First time here won't come back.

My review is with regards the spa within the Crutherland Hotel. I made a reservation at the spa for my sister & myself. It was to celebrate my sisters birthday. I booked on line and an employee of the spa called to confirm the date & treatments this was followed up with confirmation email. We arrived & waited for our treatments. When my sister got into the treatment room she was told she could not have the treatment requested as the machine they use was not in the room although it had all been confirmed. My sister had to have a different treatment. Package included afternoon tea which was shocking to say the least. Firstly staff seemed total unprepared for us coming into resturant. The young girl on reception desk had to ask me 3 times what name it was under & what we were booked in for. Afternoon tea consisted of white & brown sandwiches the bread was hard and thick with not very nice butter. The scone were okay but the cakes were I inedible they even looked terrible. The resturant was so cold we had to ask them to put heating on & it is in desperate need of a revamp. Not a good experience at all & I was so embarrassed as I had booked it for the special occasion. I could not complain at the spa desk as there was no one there when we were leaving.

Restaurant ladies were good.Rooms were ok but not as expected for Macdonalds hotels.

Nothing like the video online or there website , very very outdated decore it feels like walking into a old gentleman's club . All carpets throughout are very warn . Staff seem to be walking round in a daze not understanding what there job is . Just seemed chaos when it didn't need to be .we did have a nice stay but for what they charge theres much better out there and it's definitely not 4 star a very poor 3 at a push and that's for the location

Really enjoyed my stay here accomodation, great food. Friendly staff. Only one complaint in that normal access for guests with mobility issues to the spa werent possible and chair lift broken.i was not advised of this at checkin. I had to go right outside and around back to get my treatments. The spa staff were fantastic and did everything to make my visit very enjoyablle. Would definately recommend.

You should be ashamed!! Do not book this hotel! I booked this hotel for 2 nights and received confirmation, travelling to the hotel I received a call from the hotel to advise due to the IT issue the website had not updated and was incorrectly showing availability when this wasn’t the case and there are sadly no rooms. Whilst frustrated I understood and they confirmed over the phone I would of course not be charged and they’ll cancel their end. About 5 days later when looking at my credit card account I could see they had taken the money. Since finding out, I have tried to call and sent a total of 3 emails to them and their PR team to which none have been responded to and it has spanned 6 days! No acknowledgement let alone the refund - I have had to talk to the bank so I won’t be charged interest and to help me resolve this. Disgusting company and would never spend a penny here again.

Friendly staff, but the gym & dressing rooms, lockers badly need improvement, and better soap in dispensers at the showers is a must, especially for people entering the pool, always short on soap

Lovely location and surrounding, hotel itself it getting a bit tired and could do with some updates. Little things missed, bath not cleaned properly, no tea or milk in the room.

Very creeky floors were annoying at rimes

Great place room was basic but clean and beds were comfortable toilets were very clean plenty tea and coffee service at breakfast lunch and dinner were brilliant even staff cleaning rooms making sure if you needed anything the spa facilities were amazing pool sauna and steam room were excellent and the massage suite well what can I say excellent

Got a facial and massage, have dry skin on face, after treatment was told don't touch your face or get wet, so couldn't use facilities.

Was here for a wedding, the place is in need of major TLC. The hallways, rooms, bar and lift need refurbishment. Rooms are spacious and clean, bed was comfy enough. Food from the restaurant was average and was just a bit underwhelmed at the fact its branded as a spa hotel. The pool was nice but closes too early if you wanted to go a swim after dinner.

Overall, our stay was fine. The good: The Spa was really good (both thr staff and the treatments). Food was quite nice. Rooms: while dated, they were clean. The bad: The bar (called The Cocktail Bar), only serves 4 or 5 cocktails on the menu. But on a Saturday night, none were available. The dining area: we had dinner in the hotel on the Saturday night. But no music was playing (even just quiet dining music) meaning the area was quiet and there was absolutely zero atmosphere. Alongside the lack of drinks, we ended up just going to bed early which was disappointing. Likewise, many drinks on the menu (from Guinness to whisky) were unavailable. Bar staff was indifferent and he wasn't particularly courteous. Wifi - the wifi is awful. Pretty much zero signal in our room. Overall, the hotel needs a revamp. It is dated and much (in terms of walls, furniture and fixtures etc) are damaged or broken. This really makes it look dated (but not in a good way).

Went for a spa weekend. Was greeted by the reception at the spa being rude and quite frankly condescending. My booking times on my email confirmation were not the same as what the hotel had. Spa treatments were amazing and spa facilities such as pool sauna etc v good. Service through out the stay was not good, the restaurant didn’t have a good ambiance and service was poor, asked for three different drinks which all were not available. Several small issues such as a butter knife with a stake, and milk at breakfast served in a gravy dish? Several touches were missed and for the price payed level of service did not match.

Had a fantastic time at the Spa, the steam room and the sauna were fab!! All facilities are clean and taken care of. The hospitality service was absolutely delightful and helpful the whole day with a shoutout to Drew who's very welcoming! We also had the afternoon tea, and I havs to say I had the BEST scone I've ever had in the UK. Will definitely come back soon.

The hotel is very nicely located. The staff was listless and absent most of the time. Getting a beer was a challenge. Prices very high. A Guinness costs the equivalent of €7! In the nearby Carrigans (restaurant) the price is €4.20. Overall, the hotel has had its best years behind it. Everything is very shabby. I can't say anything about the food and spa as we didn't use either. We will not book here again.

Been before but came today for a wedding and bed, excellent venue with a great large hall and outdoor areas to filter into. As for Hotel rooms they are clean and traditional with good a/v and wifi throughout the extensive and maintained grounds. However midges are a big issue, obviously this is season dependent but added with the Windows that don't fully close and it becomes an issue. However food and service more than makes up for it and there are electric charges coming soon, so traveling up in your own car is becoming easier

Lovely place to stay we stayed in the elm room which was perfect

We have stayed for a night on the way to Loch Ness. Great for a night or couple of nights stay, Quite an outdated decor through the hotel with not the best quality of sleep on old spring mattresses , good swimming pool and saunas for a bit of relax after 6h journey from south of England. Lift to floors is an experience on its own with bumps and weird noises it makes, hotel definitely needs a refresh

Superb spa experience, treatments and facilities. A wee bit run down throughout the establishment, only reason not to make 5 stars.

Nice, quiet hotel . Not for tourists

Breakfast it's not a buffet, you have to wait long long time for anyone to come to your table - only one person in charge, and you're waiting and waiting... the worst service in whole UK - I travel a lot.

Unfortunately I cant give anything for the rooms but the service and spa were great. The staff are very welcoming from the first call booking to arriving and then the spa treatment. I picked the lady Sioban who was amazing. I got the back neck and shoulders massage with the back of my legs and arms. She made me feel so relaxed I fell asleep. This is a first. My wife got Beth and said the same. Thank you for everthing Crutherlands. I will defo be back.

good hotel, some fixtures a touch jaded but fantastic beds, clean rooms, nice service, excellent food. need to light the lounge fire in winter for atmosphere which was missing a bit, but rooms can be very warm if preferred. quiet location just outside town but only 5 mins cab journey to town and station. nice grounds with interesting river in the gorge. would stay again. Got a good room rate - special for early in the year

Had a nice overnight away with family

Great hotel for a short stay in a cozy, quiet and relaxing environment. Nice pool with sauna and steam room, well equipped gym. Fantastic massage at the spa. Tasty food at the restaurant. Friendly staff. Just a little refurbishement of some little things would make it 5 stars.

The hotel was ok. Spa and pool were too busy with young families with kids for us to enjoy. Evening dinner was fine however breakfast was not so much. We were offered toast with our breakfast and coffee that never came until breakfast was finished. The staff in the dining area were fantastic. You could see that issues were out of their control but they did their best to keep assured. And were constantly apologizing to everyone.

Lovely hotel, friendly staff, good restaurant, clean rooms and bathroom. Large comfy bed but sleep spoilt by leaking gutter. Lift out of order. Problem as I am disabled.

We booked a family room, we found the room left with a used jug for water and used glasses. The room only had 2 plug sockets. Then found the beverage only everyday tea as a tea option, a coffee (caffeine) and 3 decaf options. The loo roll holder felt like it was gonna drop off. The room was cold. Room number 210 We booked dinner, bed n breakfast so we had a table in the bar. The starters were delicious, then our steaks arrived but was cold n incorrect. We awaited them to be remade and again it was amazing when it arrived. Breakfast was a lovely spread. Overall the facilities were good, dated room decor, random missing things like water fountain for spa usage. Heating should be switched on before guests arrive.

Lovely hotel, great Accessibility room. Lovely helpful staff. However, two single beds pushed together to make a king size bed is fine but it has to have a king size mattress, not two single mattresses.
