M & S Cafe in King's Lynn and West Norfolk

Visited M and S cafe Aintree today. Hardly any staff allocated to cafe. Regular customer who has seen a steady decline in service. Today, long queue with only Carole serving and run off her feet. Limited menu available now for weeks. Everyone in queue complaining. Not what's expected.

Have started visiting this cafe weekly and haven’t got any complaints about the food but am fed up having to clear a table every time I go in today was very bad don’t understand why the management hasn’t addressed this problem as it has been going on a while as I have read other people’s comments.

We mistakenly visited this cafe, based on previous visits to other M&S cafes, which are almost always good. Not so this one! The tables weren't cleared promptly, the coffee was over-brewed and harsh, whilst the baked potatoes were most likely a couple of days old and overdone. Only hunger kept us there.

It seems somewhere along the way this M & S Cafe has lost the plot. I was shocked by the number of uncleared tables, all 7 of those in my sight, piled with crockery etc. There were three people behind the counter chatting, and when one finally attended to the mess, it was rather cursory. I would not have found this acceptable at any time, but while Covid is hanging over our heads, it's irresponsible I complained to the store and got a stock apology, but see from a previous review this mess is not unusual. I won't be eating there again.

Usual M&S spotless and well laid out in the town centre. Usual clothing range and a food hall. Nice to see it still open.

It may not be the most exciting place to eat or drink, but the food is good and reliable for a quick lunch or coffee. Nice to know it's consistent and that most of the items can be bought in the shop too. The teacakes are the best around and I've sampled quite a few in my time! The scones come in a close second. A regular haunt when shopping in Lynn.

Came here for some food and a drink couldn't believe the amount of tables not being cleared and it wasn't busy,not the normal standard for m & s

Worth going to. Good range of food, very clean and welcoming staff. Upstairs in store and would go again.

A very pleasant little place to stop for lunch. We felt totally safe during these strange times. The lady serving (sadly didn’t catch her name) was super friendly and helpful suggesting where we sit and she even spray cleaned our chairs which was reassuring – had never seen that being done before.

Visited today, but basically the restaurant/Cafe area is way too small. It gets chaotic especially difficult when my wife is in a wheelchair. Staff always friendly and the toasted sandwiches are always delicious though.

The jacket potato with chili con carne was hot and came with a generous salad. The cake was delicious. Thew choice of drinks was wide.

Lovely staff, clean and decent venue on the stores first floor. This is not food its M&S food of their usual high standard served very pleasantly.

too much early morning chatter by serving staff.otherwise average cafe. good variety of food choice both hot and cold

Called in today for hot chocolate and a scone. 6 people in queue. 4 staff but no organisation whatsoever, lots of talking going on but little or no action and no urgency whatsoever, so by the time I am served fifteen in queue behind me, yes I did count them as I was so amazed by what was happening. No plain or cheese scones so drink only. Half the tables laden with dirty crockery and nobody even attempting to remove them. Shall not go again

Popped in here during a shopping trip, excellent coffee and toasted teacake, lovely friendly staff quick service, back soon.

Coffee was very nice but service was a bit slow. Not enough staff preparing meals. Needs better organisation.

Went here whilst shopping in Kings Lynn, and my wife and myself both commented on the poor food and expensive prices

Got cought in a downpour and thought a coffee in Marks would go down well untill the storm passed.I ordered a latte, firstly I needed to ask for a biscuit ( one is normally included and served with a coffee) but somehow was forgotten when I sat to drink my coffee it was barely Luke warm, by now there was a long queue so couldn't be bothered to return it.I'm sure if I had they would have either made me a fresh cup or at best warmed up the Luke warm one.I have noticed on occasions that this café is not to the usual high standards of other M&S café's I have visited. However my only complain of today was the disappointing latte.

Popped in here after shopping, we enjoyed a lovely cup of coffee and a delicious cake, friendly staff, quick service.

As with all M&S; Cafes, the good quality of the food on offer is always the same. As most of it is available in the Food Hall, it is a good advertisement for the shop. I regularly use M&S; Cafes as I know what to expect. They do have the best toasted teacakes and the scones are good too.

Alwaysn pop in here for our coffee and toastie, staff always very pleasant and smiling. Nice selection of cakes always available

Main problem, there`s so many tables in a very confined space, no natural light, whilst it showed some improvement since out last visit, it could easily be made so much better. First its an eating place, not the local library, we witnessed two people at least using the tables as their place to read with no food or drink in front of them 45 minutes plus, equally, the situation is not helped by those people grabbing a table before queuing to order, hence there`s no seats left for those having queued and paid to sit down. We noted three staff, little wonder the tables went uncleared of dirty crockery, sadly, when the tables did get cleared, they were not wiped down properly. Our visit was just after noon and we queued for ten minutes, out hot food arrived very promptly and was hot through, likewise out hot drinks were served hot. Staff appeared to be rather indifferent, some might say its all you could expect given there was too few of them to provide a really outstanding level of service. Prices have now reached unacceptable levels for the quality of the food and service being offered.

It has not improved since our last visit, which is a few years ago, still too many tables in a cramped area, sky high prices, staff not very helpful, after being over charged, no form of apology, not a lot of snack choice, for a Marks and Spencers establishment it is a bit lacking, especially after the prices charged

Light and airy and easy to find things and some good things on offer. The food hall was up to its usual standard

The food department is excellent and all the staff extremely helpful, wish it was my local store!!!!

Good choice and comfortable surroundings to catch up and have a coffee with family and friends. Reasonable prices and good service

Lots of very yummy foods to choose from and well worth the money . Excellent breads , biscuits and wines too.
