M & S cafe in Cardiff

47 minute wait for a jacket potato - told there would be twenty minute wait - after 35 minutes when asked was told it would be a further ten minutes because "it's hard to tell how long it will take" - no apology for the delay 🙄

Despite advertising sourdough bread and in spite of selling it in their food hall, this is now unavailable. Poached eggs on toast. It came suspiciously quickly. The wholemeal toast had obviously been pre-cooked and kept ‘warm’. It was chewy. The lovely looking eggs were perfectly cooked but lukewarm. Urgh. Come on M&S. you can do better.

Lovely staff, clean seating area, good assortment of sandwiches, cakes, hot meals and drinks, I opted for a slice of carrot cake yummy

Queued for ages to order. People serving slow as anything. Dirty tables everywhere. When food brought over to table the man serving was so miserable. Literally dumped and walked off. No asking if I wanted condiments. Which I did. Not good

I went for a quick bite to eat as a treat away from my diet. I ordered the crispy chicken burger, and let me tell you it was anyhting but crispy, it was soggy on the outside, dry in the middle and tasteless. I had a side of chips which were also insainly dry, and they were those big chunky chips that get stuck down your throat. The bun was OK but a bit too sweet for my liking. I was seriously disappointed because I've always loved marks' food but never in all the years had I been to the cafe. I will certainly not be going back, what a rip off. I'd have rather consumed my calories from KFC where I know the chicken had flavour and is crispy like they say.

Popped in for coffee and a toastie. Although there were a number of spare tables none of them had been cleared and leftover food and dishes were piled up. If I hadn’t already paid I’d have walked out. When the waitress brought my food I asked her to clear the table which she did reluctantly and didn’t wipe the table. Others were also complaining. I thought Culverhouse X was bad enough but this was even worse. They are quick to take your order and your money but can’t clear the tables. Disgraceful. M&S you need to sort this

Called in to M&S cafe for a coffee while waiting for a family, never been in here before as I don't come to this side of Cardiff often, lovely clean cafe. Was very busy which is always a good sign, staff were very nice and helpful, some of which are young but very customers focused. Used the loo before I left (as you do) and again very clean. Would be happy to stop longer and order food next time.

Popped in here for a lunchtime snack after shopping with my daughters. Good service but the obviously been busy as the tables were full.of dishes and dirty. However the food was good, hot and promptly served !

Called in at M&S cafe for a coffee and light lunch. My partner and I each chose turkey sandwich. It was rather late in being served by which time we had finished our coffee. When the sandwiches arrived and i started to tuck in, the taste was not what i expected. My partner who is not keen on fat had opened her sandwich and it was full of fatty bacon. It was very difficult to find any turkey. Not enjoyable at all and fully priced A lot of room for improvement

Popped in for quick lunch, but not a great choice of food shelves were empty, long time getting served as the staff were busy talking and not bothering about the queue. Come on m&s get your act together. Could be so much better

Typical M & S, confusing when you walk in as where to get everything. Food good quality and reasonably priced. Tables not cleared very quickly so many with dirty dishes. Ideal for when shopping

I come here regularly. It can get busy and suffers with congestion issues at times, one time there was even a wait for available tables but 9/10 the cafe is really good. The staff are professional, helpful and as mentioned in other reviews - friendly. It goes a long way as it makes you feel welcome. The quality of the food is good too and it always come quickly. Staff offered me sauces at my table with serviettes, which was a helpful gesture. You can always park close by too which is helpful. Head and shoulders above the likes of Morrisons, Asda and Tesco in the local area and worth paying a bit more to dine at as it’s almost certainly going to be a nonsense-free experience.

The last time I went here for lunch on a Saturday, I made a mental note not to repeat the experience, but because it is so convenient for taking my elderly mother to, I gave it another chance. The menu is limited but that isn't a problem if everything is available. However, at 1.00 pm on a Saturday, they were out of fish and chips. There was no prior notice of this, so we had to make a very quick decision and chose soup. Only two of the three choices was available. We then waited half an hour to be served with our food. There was just one young man going back and forth to the food hatch, and presumably, only one person preparing the food. I then went to the counter again for tea and cake and was told they only had tiny saucers and no milk jugs so milk had to be put in a cup. I asked if they were short staffed and was told 'No, they were just very busy!' M&S, it's Saturday lunchtime in the middle of November! What do you expect?!!! Considering how rushed off their feet the staff were, I have to say they were very pleasant and as efficient as could be expected, but if management employed more staff, just think how many more people could be served in the time and more money taken? Surely not rocket science!

The M&S Cafe at Leckwith makes for a great place for a swift lunch when shopping. A decent lunch is very limited at Leckwith Park, so the ability to have a proper meal is great. The cafe could do with a more cosy appeal, but the food is fairy good!

M and S tea is always just perfect, Good choice of snacks and stuff. Pleasant staff always keen ti help and take a card and you can get a free drink every now and again!

El personal en el Culverhouse Cross M&S; café son encantadores, serviciales y considerados. El café ha sufrido una renovación desde mi última visita y está bien distribuido, la comida es el M&S; estándar que usted espera y puede depender de un aperitivo o comida.
