One of my favorite dining establishments in the city, this restaurant consistently delivers an extraordinary culinary experience. The food is nothing short of divine, and every penny spent is well worth it. Having savored both the Tomahawk and Porterhouse on multiple occasions, I can attest that they are always cooked to perfection—medium rare, with each bite melting in your mouth. These exquisite dishes are beautifully complemented by a selection from their superb wine list, allowing you to perfectly tailor your meal to your personal taste.

Absolutely worth every penny. £100 a head 3 course Prime rib meal is served with class, and full of flavour. If medium rare isn't to your taste they will cook it to a more done temp. Meat coma comes for free.

Gorgeous hotel and ambience. Cocktails were amazing but sadly the Lutyens Grill Steak unlimited experience far from what we expected. Starter of oysters was the show stopper but steak, a little too raw for our liking, no steak knives as quality of meat should speak for itself but we had to cut, pull and tear the meat with normal knives which was far from graceful and enjoyable. Lobster started a little overcooked. Deserts very good. Now for the real issue, whilst well staffed, it was overkill. As soon as you raised your head from your plate you were surrounded by staff who at one point tried to take both starters away despite one still being eaten, tried to take not just my empty glass but my friends glass that she was still drinking, hoovered whilst we were engrossed in conversation until it became uncomfortable and we had to ask her to come back in 5 mins. All in all not the laid back relaxing experience we had hoped for and steak very disappointing given price per head

magnificent experience. on Friday evening you can have the three course prime rib menu. They make you choose an appetizer (I started with half a grilled lobster) and then bring you mashed potatoes, spinach with cheese, sauce and a slice of prime rib (succulent and cooked to perfection). you can ask it as many times as you want without end. Then they make you choose dessert too. The waiters are expert and kind. truly a place with great charisma. there was also some great live music coming from the ned. Magnificent

Scallops were nice, meat was cooked to perfection, I really enjoyed the dauphinoise with truffle and the lobster mac and cheese. We shared the cherry cobbler, which was delicious. All together we had a very nice evening and the waiters were attentive, constantly filling up our water and wine glasses. It was the three of us and we spent almost £500. At the end we were a bit cheeky and asked them if they would give us a little drink/shot on the house, waitress was so lovely and checked with her manager but she declined. Yes, they obviously don’t have to say yes but given what we spent and for such a big hotel/venue it would have been peanuts. That was a bit disappointing.

Faultless service, food and atmosphere. I had a soup starter and the iberico chop. Husband had scallops and steak. Proper old school vibe and menu but I liked the fact that there was a really diverse bunch of people there enjoying themselves, not just a city gent place. Can’t wait to return.

Upscale and classy grill restaurant in The Ned Hotel. We ordered oysters and burrata as starters, oysters were great with a delicious vinaigrette, served with lemon and Tabasco. The burrata with pear and thyme crumble also tasted wonderful, a very balanced dish. I can also recommend the Millionaire Cocktail. A subtly sweet rum cocktail. The service and attentiveness of the staff was fantastic throughout, drinks were always refilled and nothing was missing, the table was always kept clean. At the beginning the different cuts of meat were introduced, Tomahawk, dry aged sirloin and Wagyu steak. The two of us chose the 1 kg Tomahawk medium rare, which was hit exactly. Plus mashed potatoes with confit garlic, lobster mac and cheese and delicious sauces. Together with the starter we were more than full. Everything tasted wonderful. The ambience is upscale and classic, the lighting was too dark for our taste, you had to get used to the “darkness”, so I personally like it better when the tables have a little brighter light. Otherwise the whole building appears luxurious, the path to the toilets is an eye-catcher. The old bank building is evident in the huge vault in the basement, which is interesting to look at. The meal without dessert totaled €290 including a service charge of 13.5%. A successful evening

It's a rarity I leave a bad review but there are some issues. Service was good. No issues there. Lighting too dark for my taste. The food however was a let down, but I will share the good and bad: Prawn Cocktail was genuinely fantastic. Scallops were so so, the sauce really overpowering any sweetness of the meat. Mash was very good. Bernaise sauce was very very good. Possibly the best I have had. Now the bad: very simply it is unacceptable for a steak to be served underseasoned, which two out of two were. There are better, and more reasonable, steak places in London.

Out for drinks and food with a good friend. We go to the Ned and plan to dine in Lutyens Grill. We book a table in advance The initial greeting was lovely. The staff took our coats. We had a casual friendly conversation with some of the front of house staff and was seated at a nice table. The food took a short while after our starters but all was well. Water and wine was of good quality. However as the table is being cleared my friend and i ask to take our left overs away. The waiting staff was not pleased but returned with one bag. We check the bag and the food is all mixed in one box. Im a pescatarian and dont eat meet plus my friend is allergic to mushrooms which was shared at the beginning...why was it not clarified how we wanted the food handled? Im annoyed not wanting a fuss or double handling of food therefore I decline the offer to seperate the food. A short time passes and were offered dessert. My friends gets a coffee and I begin to finish my glass of wine to only have a card reader shoved in my face. No greeting, no excuse me as were in the middle of a conversation, the man continues to jest to me paying Although surprised at the rudeness. I agree to pay after looking at the bill while the waiter huffs and holds the card reader close to my face. Upon reviewing the bill is not ours and twice the value. We inform the waiting staff and he doesn't apologise but grabs the receipt and correct the issues but then stand over my friend with card reader again pointed in her direction. We ask him politely to give us a moment. He agrees and rushes off and begins to land other customers bills on their table despite them not having ask either. Now it's not closing time, what's the hurry to get the customers out. The interaction was poor and in my opinion inconsiderate as we were still finishing drinks. Then when I pay he doesn't give me the card back he hands it to my friend and she's explains its mine, despite seeing me pay he ignores her and places my card and receipt on the table despite my hand being open to collect it from him. I didn't not deserve that treatment and it was totally dismissive and u called for. I won't be going back any time soon. This experienced tainted a lovely evening.

Given most of the reviews I’m guessing we chose an off day to dine at this restaurant. Having said that there should not be any off days given where it positions itself, price-wise. Apart from the Prawn Cocktail starter (which was really good), the main dishes that my date and I had (steak and lamb) were both bland (unseasoned), overcooked and tasteless. The oil used to cook the fries was clearly well-used, given the smell and taste. Overall not a good dining experience and not one that I would look to repeat. What is more we were sat next to a group of rowdy individuals making it difficult for us to converse. Service given by the waiters was mixed. When told by my date that she wanted to keep the remainder of her starter (that she was unable to finish) the waiter obliged by returning it in a paper bag whilst we were being served our main dishes. Not good. Why he didn’t simply return it at the end of the evening, when the meal was being paid for is a mystery. Unlike others, I cannot speak highly of this restaurant, at all. Sorry!

If there were stars for the venue, I’d have given five as the Ned itself and indeed the grill, are beautiful, but the food ….. To be fair the service was excellent and you were made to feel very welcome. The prices though, are extortionate; a price for the main and a price for the accompaniments and of course any staters or desserts, drinks etc. I have to admit I panicked when I saw it and tried to choose wisely! Prawn cocktail £21 and although lovely, there was nothing special about it. I chose the cheapest steak, a rump at £37 with cabbage at £8 and very salty chips £8. I asked for well done; my steak knife struggled to cut it, it was like chewing leather and I have had beautifully cooked well done steak at other restaurants and at home, so I know it’s possible! Sadly I can’t recommend Lutyens grill at the Ned because the food just isn’t good enough for the price, but the venue and staff are great.

Lutyens Grill is a high-end steak restaurant located in the historic former Midland Bank building in London. The restaurant is set in a beautiful wood-paneled room creating a very sophisticated and elegant atmosphere. The service is excellent, with attentive and knowledgeable staff who are happy to recommend dishes and wines. The menu features a wide selection of steaks, as well as seafood and other dishes. We opted for the Hereford chateaubriand, which was cooked to perfection and served with delicious armagnac sauce. We also tried the fries, which were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. However, I would have preferred a chunkier type of cut. Overall, we had a very enjoyable meal at Lutyens Grill and I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a special occasion meal.

A quieter place at the Ned relatively to other, which make it better for business lunches. However, I had perhaps higher expectations from the food. Service provided by the waiters is fantastic, but you would expect that considering the discretionary service charge will be quite hefty due to the price of the food. I had the scallops to start and they were amazing. I didn't enjoy my fillet steak and dauphinoise that much, but that could be because the complimentary bread and butter was surprisingly filling so by the time our mains came out, I wasn't so enthusiastic. The steak was perfectly cooked to my liking though and whether or not I enjoyed every dish, I can't deny it was all cooked very well. It's quite dark inside the restaurant. I like that it feels private behind a closed door, and still close enough to the bustle just outside with the live music clearly audible at a comfortable level. The Ned (where the restaurant is located) is bustling and busy on a Friday night. It felt like every person working near by was there after clocking off. The eating experience is nice but can be a bit intimidating. I like that the waiters will make sure the table is clean between courses, and they came to fill our glasses with tap water constantly. They also took our coats and returned them back to us when we were ready to leave. However, I did feel like I had to be careful not to put my elbows on the table, and to hold my fork properly! Overall we enjoyed our visit here, but the price locks it out from being a regular visit. If you want a great steak you can get more food for less at Hawksmoore. But if you want to feel like you're getting a fine dining experience with your steak, Lutyens is worth a visit as a treat.

Delicious food. Fantastic service and a beautiful setting. They start you off with complimentary bread. It is warm and although a tad salty I still really enjoyed it. I then had the steak tartare which was again really good. It was packed full of capers and flavour. My partner had the scallops with chorizo which were really tasty and well balanced. We both had the filet mignon which were perfectly cooked. We also ordered the dauphinoise potatoes, the Bordelaise sauce and mushrooms. The potato slices for me were a little underdone but the flavour was good and the mushrooms were great. The sauce completed the steak well. At the end of the meal they also gave us complimentary chocolate and kind of jam cube which was interesting. The employees were super attentive. We had tap water and there wasn't a single moment my glass was empty. They clear the table in good time and I don't feel we had to wait long for our meals. They opened the door for us and took our coats but given the price mark I guess you are paying for good service. (It cost us £180 for the meal and that was without any drinks). The restaurant is in the Ned where there are other bars and restaurants with a live band in the middle. You do have to leave the restaurant and go downstairs to go to the toilet which felt quite far away but they were clean. It's set in an old bank so it looked pretty cool and you can see the vault door downstairs. Outside was the highlight for me though; it's surrounded by beautiful buildings and just a short walk from the Royal Exchange. You can walk to the restaurant from London Bridge. It takes just 17 minutes and gives you an opportunity to get some nice photos and burn off some of the meal 😉.

As its a high end restaurant, you must prepare for a little more high end pricing. However, the food we had was well worth it as it was excellent. The atmosphere outside this restaurant in the ned is hectic really loud and people every where, but as you pass through the crazyness you enter lutyens grill through a little door and once inside pure bliss. All the outside noise is forgotten and the staff give you their full attention. Food is absolutely amazing I had the Hereford fillet steak. Usually I'll have my steak medium well done but when you know theres a good cut coming you can go for a rare or in my case medium rare. I wasn't wrong either the fillet was such a tender yet soft cut, pure melt in your mouth business. An extensive wine and spirits list and the rum they had was so sweet and smooth it just slid down. Definitely would recommend this restaurant to anyone having a look into it. The only thing that might hurt after if your pocket (not the cheapest restaurant) but at the end of the day you pay for what you get and here that is certainly the case. This review is in reference to a booking for 8 people at Lutyens Grill for 25 November 2021. I made the reservation on Open Table, originally for 5 people (31 October) then upsized to 8 people by telephone call (7 November). I then cancelled the reservation on 13 November, ie 12 days in advance. As is typical, my credit card details were taken at time of booking and I was charged a £200 deposit (£25 per head). It was only in the fine print of the confirmation email (ie AFTER the reservation was made and the funds charged to my card) that I was notified the deposit is non-refundable. I have since had an absolutely shameful experience with the central reservations line of The Ned to discuss refunding my deposit. I consider, and I think small claims court would agree, the zero-exceptions non-refundable deposit policy an unfair term under the Consumer Rights Act. As “André P.” told me on the phone when we spoke, November/December time is The Ned’s busiest time of year and they are fully booked end-to-end. They have more requests for reservations than they have spots. The only reasonable conclusion (based on what The Ned told me!) is therefore that - with 12 days’ advance notice - the Ned re-sold my table to someone else, thereby profiting TWICE from the same booking. This is a flagrant violation of my rights under the Consumer Rights Act, and shameful behaviour from a large, profitable hospitality business. The Ned’s blanket policy to treat booking deposits as non-refundable - regardless of whether they are able to re-sell the table or not - is at best totally unenforceable, and at worst is an example of predatory consumer behaviour. I insist on a full refund of the £200 within the next 14 days or I will be escalating my claim. And shame on you Soho House for fleecing consumers who might otherwise not know their rights.

One if not my favourite in London and certainly in the City itself - great location, Ambience, Service, attention to detail. Wonderful choice of cuisine beautifully prepared and served. Everyone ensures you relax at the end of the day. You can ask for recommendations with confidence and there is never any rush. Always dine here if opportunity presents - very discrete and cozy

Incredible place. Me and my Uncle had the scallops and the Tomahawk steak. It was to die for! Melts in your mouth. Perfection 😍

A bit boring, but good food and service. Expensive. Bar outside is great fun.

Went on a Friday evening Good service and thankfully quiet enough to have a conversation whilst the main bar / lobby area was very loud. We had Oysters which were very good, lagoustines so so, steak very nice and Halibut very tasty. Prices are high , but we didnt hold back on wines. For dessert the Panacotta was so so

Firstly the service was great, the staff were polite, attentive and took great care of us. However we were underwhelmed by the food. We shared the scallops for starters. They were cooked well however they were very cheesy, it was the overriding flavour. The cote du boeuf for my main I found too fatty and lacking any great flavour. My wife's lamb cutlets were very flavorful but also fatty. On the whole a good experience but left slightly disappointed.

Amazing experience at Lutyens, a very cosmopolitan night out with friends at the uber busy Ned in the heart of the city. The menu is pricey but well worth every penny. The service was super, and the food portions very generous - quite the opposite of what I expected. I had fillet steak, which was cooked to perfection. My friends has a variety of steaks too all of which looked enormous. I cannot fault the experience, and definitely going back. #lutyensgrill #thened #finedining

Great service in an impressive building. Very average steak and extremely overpriced! Clearly trying to cater to one off diners on an expense account.

The food here is simply excellent. The ambience is lovely, and quite quiet in contrast to the hustle and bustle outside (there is a live band in the lobby of the Ned). Would definitely recommend.

Had the Uruguayan rib-eye - amazing. This, in my opinion, is the only steak house in London that is up on the list with Goodman and Hawksmoor (even CUT and Smith and Wollensky doesn't come close). Service and ambiance is up a notch too. Will be back!

We ended up making two trips to this place as it was right next to the hotel. Good food in informal premises. Many guests indicated that the restaurant/café is popular with people who want a quick and good meal on the go. Expect some upscale cafe food, but the service was perhaps a bit impersonal, even though we tried to lift the spirits of those who came to our table.
