Dirty Bones Carnaby in City of London, Westminster

Yes the chicken is decent at Dirty Bones Carnaby Street but the service on a not- that-busy Sunday was all over the place. It started off well with a friendly maitre d' (?) who sorted out our cocktails, starter and main. I mentioned it was my birthday and was told to expect a little something at the end of our meal. However once we finished our mains and we waited far too long for our service to resume. My rule of thumb with service is as soon as you notice it's lacking, it's gone wrong... Multiple serving staff sorted out our plates and dessert (fyi the doughnuts were freshly cooked and tasty) but no sign of the maitre d' and the promised birthday bonus completely forgotten. A promising start but a disappointing end to the evening, which I've experienced too many times at too many restaurants that I think future Dirty Bones customers deserve to know as I suspect this wasn't a one off. Honestly Dirty Bones, why such inconsistent service? And you really shouldn't make (birthday) promises you're not planning to keep or they will end up in your Google Reviews.

So, my wife and I went to this place, completely unplanned yesterday. I had the classic burger (or whatever the name of the burger with macaroni is), and my wife had the OG chicken burger something. When they brought the classic burger, I was quite sceptical to be honest. But ALL that disappeared once I took the first bite. Hands down, one of the best burgers I have had recently in London. So good on so many levels. As for the OG Chicken, wow, equally better :)). I mean it looked like an over-the-top-deep-fried chicken with little meat, but it was anything but. The actual fried part was very thin and tasty, whilst the chicken was just unbelievably tender. We also had a small salad which was very good. All in all, a place we will definitely visit again soon and a place we highly recommend.

We had an amazing time, Agnieszka is an absolute gem of a server and her attentiveness and genuine enthusiasm made us feel so well cared for – we can't wait to be seated in her section again! Food and drink wise, the bar sent out our coctails with crushed ice which makes thr cocktails a lot harder to drink, even though we requested cubes. And most importantly, please bring back the frickles as the long halves, they were 100 times better than the slices you do now, which are dry and hard.

The food was amazing- I got the Wayu burger and fries - it was 10/10. Service was incredible- my server was Justina and she made my experience here one to remember! Definitely recommend.

Came here for lunch and was very impressed! The chicken is lovely and juicy, not dry at all. I got the buffalo burger and it was actually spicy - which I loved! The tater tots are also amazing, the birria beef it's served with is full of flavour. I also liked how the staff weren't too overwhelming, as some places can be really pushy. Overall, I highly recommend if you like chicken!

Lovely atmosphere and wonderful service! Mithun served us and made our lunch a delightful experience. He was thorough, pleasant and overall great service. Will definitely visit again.

The delicious chicken and Gui 🔝

After reading other Google reviews, I was so looking forward to trying this place and having my mind blown by the food! Unfortunately, Dirty Bones didn’t really meet any of my expectations - while the service was good, the food was best described as average. The buffalo chicken burger was the highlight, with really tasty deep-fried chicken thigh and a punchy sauce, but no ‘wow-factor’. The side and small plate were actually pretty disappointing - there was hardly any flavour on the onion and garlic salt fries, and the popcorn frickles were chewy and bland, saved only by the Scotch Bonnet jam. Decided to splash out and get a cocktail to see if this is where Dirty Bones could score a few more points, but the ‘Deputy Dog’ (a twist on a classic Paloma) was again just average. It tasted like an alcoholic Capri Sun. I struggled to taste any of the grapefruit bitters. The atmosphere was also a bit odd for a place that tries to echo NYC nightlife - the lighting was very harsh which wasn’t helped by the reflective surface of the table. Perhaps a bit more mood-lighting could improve this? I’ve given Dirty Bones 3 stars on account of the burger being decent and the staff being attentive, but this was very close to being a 2-star review. I wouldn’t hurry to come back.

Really great food with reasonable prices. They have two menus for brunch so lots of choice for everyone.

They said we have a gluten-free hamburger option, it might be the worst and most carelessly prepared hamburger I have ever eaten in my life, the hamburger bun was so cold that it had still had ice cubes in it after it had been taken out of the cooler and there was only a dry hamburger in it😔

very nice restaurant i had an absolutely splendid time. the area was very nice and the atmosphere was good. The food was exquisite the cheeseburger gyozas were ansolutely immaculate and dripping in flavour. however, i feel the portion sizes could have been greater given the price. shout out to o smailly a very nice guy.

Absolutely delicious food for 6 of us, with a mix of flat iron steak, tacos, chicken, and the wagyu burger!!! Oh and the corn ribs & cheesy truffle fries... yummo!!! amazing impeccable and friendly service by Mithun!! This place is awesome!! Given my garlic allergy Mithun went above and beyond to help me choose my dishes. The cocktails were sooooo good!! We each enjoyed our food & drinks! Everything w as perfect! With so many places to choose from in Carnaby St, we are so happy we stopped here. Highly recommended!!!!

Absolutely fantastic place, The food is great, The service is phenomenal, especially GUI, Mary and wiki, and And Radu who made the cocktails… Absolutely insane. We took my mum to celebrate her birthday, And the members of staff were absolutely fantastic. They surprise my mum with a glass of fizz and a doughnut with ice cream. The service was fast and efficient, and they even charged my phone for me extra bonus. The food was delicious and great for vegetarians too

Food very good. Nice atmosphere. Service by waitress, not satisfactory. He told us that there is no bench for 2 people While everything was empty. He pleaded that they were all in custody. We sat in a booth at the bar. However, when local customers came in without a reservation, he seated them just fine. It probably bothered her that we were tourists

Came here for dinner on a Thursday night last week with some work mates. Gui our waiter from Brazil was fabulous. The food was delicious we may have over ordered. Cocktails spot on. Really recommend this place for groups.

The food was great, but it doesn’t taste like American food at all, even the ranch dressing was nothing like real American ranch. I was a bit disappointed since it said it’s American restaurant.

Crowded, no vibe whatsoever but worse than anything the food was terrible. Chicken old, overcooked and hardly any of it. The waffles were only a half portion and the presentation was rushed and looked awful. It was hugely overpriced, terribly cooked food. This is the second time I've tried this place - never again!
