An authentic Italian restaurant hidden away in the far end of an industrial estate. Don’t let the location or the lack of kerb appeal put you off. This restaurant has some fantastic pasta dishes and great cakes. Give it a go!

We order regularly from Lupo and it’s always fantastic…except today!! Not only was my food terrible when I phoned to speak to the manager he was rude and not willing to listen to what I said. Has now put me in a position as I feel like I don’t want to order from them again with an owner who doesn’t take criticism well.

We went for coffee and cake mid afternoon today. My friend’s cappuccino was barely warm. We asked them nicely if they could make it hotter and they immediately said ‘No’. They don’t make the milk very hot ‘in case it burns someone’s mouth’! However, my black coffee was piping hot so this didn’t make sense. I queried it again only to be told that the ‘fats’ in the milk don’t like to be overheated. I’ve never heard such rubbish before! I don’t know about you, but I’ve never been served lukewarm coffee ….. anywhere. The morale of this review is to warn anyone who wants a nice hot cup of cappuccino or latte NOT TO VISIT LUPO. To make matters worse, their supercilious attitude leaves a lot to be desired.

This was my first time here although my daughter and family are regulars. I was surprised at the location on an industrial estate but it works as the food, service and value was excellent.

Lupo is amazing, from the service to the atmosphere it’s definitely one to try! The food is delicious and the team are always happy to recommend and make your trip that little bit extra special. We’ve been many times and recently for my son’s birthday where they made a pistachio and chocolate cake. Absolutely fabulous and highly recommend.

I was so excited to visit Lupo as my fiancé and I love Italian. So we decided to celebrate our 4 year anniversary there (given we got engaged in Italy). We managed to find the restaurant ok despite the very random location (although you could argue this adds to its charm). On entry we were greeted by a pleasant enough woman and sat at our table. We ordered the charcuterie and potato balls with a bottle of red wine to get us started. All of which were delicious although the service was quite slow and we even had to put the dishes on the table behind us as no one came to collect them. My fiancé ordered the calzone and I ordered Cacio e Pepe for main. We had to ask for cutlery when the dishes arrived as none were provided on the table. Given the restaurant claim to specialise in Roman dishes I was beyond disappointed when I tasted my dish. It was as if a member of staff had accidentally tipped the whole salt grinder into the pasta. When I told the male staff member he got quite defensive and tried to convince me it was the pecorino. I've had Cacio e Pepe in Rome so I knew this wasn't the case. I asked if I could have a Calzone instead and the staff accommodated. The calzone was nice but could have done with more filling and sauce. Instead of ordering dessert we chose to grab a few pastries to have back at home. We ended up leaving with a box of six pastries which were all rather underwhelming. Don't get me wrong the restaurant itself is charming and some of the food is good but overall I was disappointed that a restaurant claiming to do Roman pasta failed on the most iconic Roman dish.

Visited here for a family meal. Cannot fault the food for taste, however the pasta portions were extremely small for the price. Both myself and my 15 year old daughter were still hungry! I was shocked then to find on the bill quite a large service charge which is surprising for a small unit/cafe on an industrial estate which isn’t even in the heart of Prestwich village. Needless to say I would not recommend or return to this establishment again. There are so many nicer places to eat out in Prestwich.

Popped in for breakfast as wanted to put money in to local business rather than McD’s etc and the board outside stated 2 breakfasts and 2 teas £12 which seemed reasonable. The breakfast was well sized however the sausage was bland as was the grilled tomato. Bacon and beans were good. The pot of tea wasn’t the best. At no point did anybody pop over and ask us if we were enjoying our meal or if everything was ok. The decor was tired with marks on the walls and the door was filthy. We were in early and the place was empty so wasn’t as though the grime had built up in the day and would have took a minute to wipe it down with a damp cloth at least. Also the table cloth was stained. When went to pay it was £15.88 and not the £12 as advertised outside but couldn’t be bothered challenging as it was the missus’s birthday. Won’t be going there again as just not good enough.

Sort your parking situation out. At least let us know where we can park when your 6 car carpark is full. Saves us getting in altercations with local residents…….

Booked a table for 9 people for a family birthday 2 weeks in advance. On our way to the restaurant we checked the website to look at the menu to discover they were temporarily closed and had been for a while. The restaurant had made no attempt to contact us to inform us they were closed and when we called up to confirm they made no apologies. If we hadn't checked we would have been left stood on the street on a Friday evening with nowhere to go! Disgraceful service, will not be going again despite positive experiences in the past.
