Lunchi in Birmingham

Chanced upon this randomly as I needed to get some lunch on a weekday.. A quaint and cute space with interesting artwork on the walls (my fave is the Sunflower painting that caught my eye, simple and stunning!) .. really fresh and affordable food including coffee! Made my experience very comforting.. I had a Chicken Zinger Hot Melt in Ciabatta and an Oatuccino! Very yumm! Oh and the service was very good as well. Very approachable lady at the till..

I'm not really sure what people in see in this place because for us it was a disappointment. We visited this place on a Saturday right after Christmas. We ordered a cappuccino, a latte and a sausage roll each because there were hardly any cakes left. The coffees were very disappointing. My latte was very small, and also was quite tasteless with the cappuccino not being much better. We ask for the coffees to be extra hot and they were served more like lukewarm. The sausage rolls were also very disappointing with rubbery pastry, and the sausage meat was very greasy and chewy. Next time we are in the Jewellery Quarter, we shall go to the Greggs opposite the clock tower instead and avoid this expensive rubbish.

Very nice food, nice atmosphere and super friendly staff! Will be having my lunch break here more often!

Nipped in for a light lunch, friendliest person on the counter, went by her recommendation and was not disappointed. Fish finger melt and chicken and bacon melt…. Delicious and a nice slice of cookie dough Ferreira Rochet cake mmmmmmm

They will literally make you any sandwich and just how you like it !! Everything is fresh and tasty and just how it should be. The staff are really nice, allow me to be picky with what I want without making me feel bad for it. As a fussy eater with sensory issues, I feel like this is my new safe lunch spot as they are happy to make your food just how you like it where possible. Thanks for the best sandwiches

Thank you for not charging for dairy alternatives. I'll come to you regularly as a result! Already my 3rd visit. The food is here is always handmade in front of you and fresh like a deli. Therefore if you don't want x contamination better to come when it's quieter or just get a samosa here as they can manage this with a napkin. (I'm vegan.)

La mayoría de las cosas son £ 6 pero luego la comida es cara hoy en día y la calidad aquí es fabulosa. Todo es casero y muy sabroso. Un lugar fabuloso para el almuerzo. ¡Tomo todos mis clietns aquí!

Wow what a find. dropped in for a sandwich and coffee. Sandwich absolutely brilliant IMO, coffe good, staff very Friendly and the food was delivered in a timely fashion. Not overly expensive given the location. two sandwiches, two cappuchinos and one samosa(MMMMMMMM) all for £22. highly recomend if you are in teh Jewellery Quarter area.

The food was tasty but a few things let the place down. My glass was chipped,which would have been fine but the one I was then given was "steam cleaned" by the coffee machine. Leaving it warm and still grubby. My sandwich was put on a napkin. I didn't want to eat the paper that stuck to the bread, so most of it was wasted. The lack of usable napkin meant I needed to wash my hands which highlighted the lack of hand towels in the loo. This place has great potential but needs a bit more care to be taken with the little details.

we just had the most delicious mac & cheese we've ever had served by some very friendly and efficient staff members - major props to the fella in the kitchen!! thank you!!

Cheese and tomato sandwich: lovely. Coffee Americano: lovely. Staff: lovely. Raised patio in the sun: lovely. There's only one word for this place: excellent!

Good range of options Fresh ingredients and done quickly. All you could want from a sandwich bar. Would go again and recommend.

Popped in for a quick lunch after some shopping. Brilliant service from some lovely ladies that made us feel really at home. Followed by some delicious food at a great price for the centre of town. Would recommend to anyone looking for a drink or a bite to eat in the jewellery quarter.

Great food, eat in or take away. Jerk chicken is always a good call. Wide range of salads and wraps too. Best part it works well in summer for light bites or in winter when you need something hot. It’s a good staple of the JQ

I recently had lunch with my mum at this lovely spot and I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which added to the overall ambience of the place. The service was top-notch, and we felt well taken care of throughout our visit. I particularly enjoyed my chocolate frappe, which was essentially a milkshake but oh so delicious! I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great lunch spot with excellent service and a warm atmosphere. Thanks for the wonderful experience!

Get there early to avoid lunchtime rush! I have eaten in once and had lunch to go twice. The food is good, with loyal regulars clearly making this place their go to lunch option! Every time I have come here, at around 1pm, there have been quite a few items missing from their menu. I was told I needed to arrive early as they make everything fresh and sell out of daily specials quickly!

Absolutely wonderful bite to eat for breakfast. The full English was exceptional and the service was friendly & fantastic. Value for money was very reasonable but nothing felt cheap. Highly recommended and can’t wait to go back when I’m next near by.

We ate here today and were really impressed. Good selection on the menu, tasted delicious and good value for money.

Stopped off for lunch whilst jewellery shopping. Husband loved his steak ciabatta (and he really is difficult to please) and my chill and rice were just scrumptious - chunks of beef, not mince. The chai cinnamon frappe was to die for. Friendly service and attentive waitress.

I stopped in here with my sister during our visit to the jewellery Quarter. I am a coeliac vegan and chose a falafel and salad sandwich on gf bread, the older woman serving said 'oh you're not really vegan then' when I asked for 'butter' before I had the chance to explain I was asking for a non dairy spread, sadly they only use dairy butter and offer no alternative, they have no vegan mayo either. This server was very abrupt in her attitude and not at all customer focussed, she made no attempt to make us feel welcome and her attitude bordered on rude (not just to us) The food was average.

The staff are so rude!! Initially the counter service was abrupt to say the least but the server was even worse. The order came incorrect and when this was pointed out she literally snatch the ciabatta off my daughter. On seeing this I went up to the counter server and told her - she acknowledged she’d taken the order incorrectly but no apologies were given. It’s the last time I spend £55.00 at this venue. Extra star given because the food came hot.

My favorite place in Jewellery Quarter, regularly come for their hot sandwiches for lunch, if they don’t have any left they just make it in front of you, the food is excellent, the staff is super friendly and efficient, I love this place.

A real find - perfect for a stop if you are touring the Jewellery Quarter. Zinga Chicken Melt was excellent, as was the Cajun Salmon.

Absolutely brilliant place! The staff are so friendly and efficient, the wraps are full of taste and gorgeous, the scotch eggs are delightful and huge, one of the nicest lunch time purchases I’ve ever made! and . . . The coffee is beautiful. 100% recommended 👌🏻👍🏻

Went in a couple of weeks ago with a work pal and ordered two full English breakfasts. Good produce, lovely proper field mushroom, quality bacon and sausage and eggs, tasty grilled tomato, nice toast.., piping-hot and cooked to perfection by the nice young lady who was working at the front and doing the cooking. Definitely the best English breakfast in the Jewellery Quarter.

Fantastic little place, open early on a Saturday when little else open. Amazingly tasty Hot Chocolate though a little pricey!

Food was ok.would have been better if my first choose was available but was told they did not serve all day breakfast even though the signage quite clearly states all day sat / Sunday. If this is not the case it needs changing or staff need to know this menu item is available when a customer requests is at 3pm on a Saturday.

Friendly service plus good food and outside seating (for when it’s not raining). Hot and cold dishes available.

Nice shop front venue with good food but I felt letdown by a misleading menu and a waitress making a mistake with my requests. So Full English for £7.00 but it doesn’t include a beverage, tea is not included in the “Full” English. Tea is an additional £2.00 and refills are not free so I paid £9 for a Full English breakfast with English Breakfast Tea. I wasn’t asked if I wanted another cup of tea during my meal even though the tea arrived before the food and I finished my food without a drink. When my food arrived I asked for red sauce and got HP brown left on the table. The food and the tea were excellent. I probably wouldn’t have bothered with a review but I am waiting on my car being serviced at a garage down the road. (Beverages are free there). So I have a half hour or so of procrastinating to do or I could review this very nice cafe let down by not so nice value for money and mildly inattentive staff.

Been here several times with my family it’s a great food place always fresh tasty food Yummy sandwiches the girls will make whatever you ask for! Always pleasant staff Will be back as I work around the corner! ⭐️

Difficult to choose from the selection of breads and fillings for my lunch break but tuna with salad on a white baguette was a nice fresh choice. Always reliable and unsurprisingly often busy.

Pasamos por una taza rápida (y un brownie sin gluten) mientras compramos en Jewellery Quarter. El personal era increíblemente amable y la pequeña cafetería tenía un ambiente agradable. El baño del cliente estaba impecablemente limpio y encontramos los pequeños rollitos de chocolate que venían con nuestras bebidas tan sabrosas, que compramos una lata cuando nos fuimos.

Entramos en el almuerzo - buen menú saludable. Teníamos el bistec, huevos y patatas fritas, así como la ensalada de halloumi. Llegó a menos de 20 para los dos.No atestado, personal amable, servicio rápido y limpio.La comida fue excelente: la Sra. Combat_Wombat es muy difícil de complacer (como su madre) y quedó muy impresionada con la ensalada. Vale la pena pasar por aquí.

Primera visita como novedad al trabajo en la zona. Quería una buena ensalada pero terminé pagando 6 por una pequeña ensalada de pollo y tocino en una tina de plástico. La ensalada no tenía ningún tipo de aderezo y estaba bastante seca, aparte de una ensalada de col. Incluían un cuchillo y un tenedor de madera que se añadían a todo el dolor. La mujer que me sirvió no era grosera, pero estaba lejos de ser amistosa. Mi única visita. Esperando Pret un pesebre abierto en esta área y pronto.

Apareció aquí tan pronto como llegamos en el trimestre. Una cálida bienvenida y buenos cafés calientes.

Inicialmente vino a tomar un café y un desayuno ligero antes de Ring Shopping. Pedimos el café, pero estábamos indecisos sobre qué tomar para el desayuno ya que el menú aquí no es muy obvio. Mi café tuvo que volver a prepararse porque quería leche desnatada, pero al principio no me lo pidieron: cuando se rehizo, la leche salió grumosa, por lo que necesitaba ser reemplazada. El tercer intento de preparar el café -un cartón nuevo de leche volvió a tener grumos y se partió- en este punto, les dije que no se molestaran y solo me dieran un reembolso. Mi compañero todavía tenía su café pero negro.

Difícil descubrir qué había en el menú real hasta que camines hasta el mostrador donde tiene pizarras en letra pequeña. Ordené y pregunté qué pan me gustaría, escogí una baguette para decirme que todavía estaban cocinando y solo un ciabatta hd que dije que sí, no hay problema. Luego la veo sofocando mantequilla sin siquiera preguntarme si quiero algo, cosa que no hice. Le dije que no quería mantequilla por favor y que parecía que había hecho algo mal. Luego tuvo que agarrar la pizarra para verificar qué sucede con lo que ordené y ni siquiera se molestó en lavarse las manos después de tocarlo y procedió a hacer mi pedido.

Llamamos aquí sin saber qué esperar ya que nuestra visita al Barrio de las Joyas no fue planificada. Inicialmente nos confundimos con leer el menú impreso del buffet en lugar de la pizarra. Después de algunas consultas con las amigas, nos conformamos con una ensalada de huevo escocés y una ensalada de samosa vegetal, y mi nieta de 3 años tuvo un sándwich de tocino. Dos cafés encantadores y una lata de naranja para lavarlo. No son tus ensaladas estándar. . . . . Extremadamente fresco y sabroso, y un montón de tocino en el sándwich. ¿El cuarto de joyas obviamente tiene más gemas que las que se muestran en las tiendas?

. . . . . . Buena variedad de opciones de almuerzo. Platos calientes y fríos para comer o para llevar. Buena elección. Personal atento asesoramiento formulario. A un precio razonable. Nada era demasiado problema. Pollo Tikka sandwichera era preciosa, al igual que la envoltura envoltura ensalada de salmón y atún. Sin duda recomendaría este lugar.

Vine aquí para un almuerzo rápido después de ir de compras, así como en la trasera de aparcamiento. La comida era normal en el mejor de los casos, el servicio era un poco desagradable, lo que me pareció extraño, tengo la impresión de que me estaban haciendo un favor? He estado una vez antes y no fue mucho mejor, pero pensé que les daría una segunda oportunidad.

Con tiempo para matar (hacía un poco de frío, amenazante y blustery afuera) pensé que me gustaría probar este como una alternativa a la puerta de al lado urbano! Hace un interesante contraste con el entorno, been slicker acompañados por el agradable y tradicional Brum - mujeres que llevan. Todo está muy limpio y ordenado. El café era muy bueno, y la esponja de victoria. Mientras fue relativamente tranquilo cuando me fui, por la época en que la izquierda había una cola - presumiblemente por el almuerzo, así que debe de ser popular localmente y, desde mi experiencia limitada, justifiedly así.

Metimos en un café en una visita al barrio de joyas por casualidad. Gran café, así que decidimos volver para el almuerzo. Era un pollo Jerk así como la ensalada de wow realmente fresco y abundante. Muy limpio y claramente un destino para los locales que nos trataron como familia. El equipo de aquí es un crédito y muy amable.

Popped in to Lunchi today only because the hipstery place next door didn't have any tables free. Glad we did as had a great bacon sandwich, proper tea and free wifi - what more do you want.

No estaba mal, teníamos la Frittata a casa para cenar y lugares de la marca golpeó y Spencer en Solihull. contador Deli fue delicioso ¡ojalá me hubiera comprado la porción última en mostrador. Siempre una cálida y amable bienvenida en almuerzos y comida sabrosa, y siempre con una sonrisa. Gracias.

Being in Birmingham Jewellery Quarter as a chauffer to my much better half and her friends, I scouted for half an hour to find a good place to site with the laptop and get some work done while she spent fortunes and had fun.The Lunchi team were immediately warming and friendly, helping me out with Wifi and a plug socket, amazing tea and excellent food.Would highly recommend to anyone local or visiting and will definitely come again when i'm in the area.Thanks for a lovely atmosphere and a good day :)

I have been to Lunchi before, and the food is good food, I won't deny that however I just ordered an omlette as I wanted a healthy lunch. I therefore ordered omlette without the fatty cheese! I asked for onion, tomato, ham and mushroom. I walked back to work and opened it up to find it SMOTHERED in cheese. There is also a hair in it! Won't be going back, paid nearly a fiver for a meal I didn't want.

Visiting on a lunch time, it was busy but the staff were working through the queue quickly and the service was great.I had the warm cheese frittata with salad and it was absolutely beautiful. They also do a decent latte!All in all, a very nice place grab lunch and at a reasonable price!

Good experience with such excellent value and friendly service .Jane was a delight and obviously enjoys her job and is a great organiser.However,2 slight hitches.We visited at a very busy time so understandably had to wait.No problem there but the Blackboard menu stated,'Chicken Curry with rice or baked potato,£4.50.'When we got to the front of the queue we were disappointedly told there was no curry left even though the large menu board stated it was on sale!!My wife ordered scrambled egg in lieu.Lovely with a choice of bread but it was served on cold plates!!! My Chilli Con Carne was top notch and overall very good.Will return.

Stopped here with my sister coffee during a trip to the jewellery quarter. However, the selection of food looked great so decided to have something to eat too. We were pleased we did.The place has a nice atmosphere and the service is friendly. My sister and I both enjoyed our lunch, which was freshly prepared, as was the coffee. Would definitely return.

Visited last Wednesday when i was visiting the Jewelery Quarter. Stopped off for breakfast & was very impressed by the service, The staff were very friendly and attentive, the food was great & it was great value for money.

Great coffee, but the waitress forgot who had ordered what, we sat outside and eventually got our order. Would have scored 5 otherwise.

I popped in out to get out of the cost on Saturday to find myself pleasantly surprised with the wide range they have on other. But the best thing that I found was the nicest tasting hot chocolate ever. Next time I'm in the area I will definitely go there again.

I had a lovely lunch -wrap with brie and cranberry- which wasn't on their (lovely and varied) menu but that was no problem. Veggie options were also created. Service was fast and friendly. Shame it wasn't open on the Sunday!

Me and my partner truly love this place. It serves great coffee and the bbq jerk chicken melts are awesome.Top tip is to get there before the lunch rush so your not disappointed as there is limited seating.The staff are great. Super friendly and helpful.Looking forward to our new trip to the quarter.

We visited here for the 1st time towards end of 2013 and we have been back every time we have been in the area. It is very clean, nice fresh food and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. That is one of the main reasons for returning to this cafe and it's very nice that they remember your face! 5* definitely worth visiting you won't be disappointed!

Popped in for lunch on Saturday. Good choice of sandwiches as well as specials on board. Chicken and vegetable omelette with salad good value at £4.50 and my partner enjoyed his jerk chicken baguette. Fast and friendly service. Perfect for a quick lunch.

I've had lunch at Lunchi many times and it never fails to satisfy.I tend to get a baguette with whichever hot roast meat is available (pork or turkey usually) and it is always fresh, delicious and generous in size.It's great to grab a quick sandwich and leave, but the lovely interior means Lunchi is also a nice spot to sit and have lunch or a coffee. The thing that really sets it apart in my view is the sheer friendliness of the staff. They seem like genuinely lovely people who really know how to treat their customers.

We use Lunchi on a fairly regular basis on our shopping trips to the Jewellery Quarter for a few simple reasons. First and foremost it is pleasure to be welcomed in such a friendly manner by staff who always seem so happy. Secondly as the food is served quickly is tasty and very good value for money. Scotch eggs are not a compulsory purchase, therefore to post a poor review based on that I feel is a little unfair. We would definitely recommend Lunci to our friends.
