Lunchbox Cafe in Gwynedd

We popped in to the lunch box in the off change we could use there electricity to charge our phone and to my delight they said yes we decided to order the sea food & chicken nuggets and chips and it was perfect had to order the sea food again before we left . And now we back again the next day the breakfast was lovely defo recommend this place by far the better cafe we have used her in Barmouth

Lovely homemade food and the nicest, most accommodating front of house. The staff are incredibly kind and make you feel so comfortable. Would recommend!

Good home made food. Excellent vegan options for three of us, as well as other things on the menu. The staff were very friendly and provided very good service. We would highly recommend.

Called in here for a pork and stuffing roll and had the most scrumptious experience. Unfortunately they had run out of pork (as it was near to closing) so they asked if I would like beef instead, I went for that with my wife having a lemon meringue and drinks. The young girl serving was most pleasant and could not do enough to make our sit in pleasant. The drama started there for me as I managed to leave my bag in there with a fair amount of cash and all the hotel keys from where we were staying. I did not realise this until well after closing. We returned to the shop to find it shut up and thought it was going to be one of those days. We rang the number on the door that was for deliveries only which to us was a bit of a long shot, but low and behold ten minutes later I had a reply from the guy there who told me indeed I had left my bag there and he had put it safe for me. I was thinking that I would return to the shop the next day but the chap said don't worry I will come back in five minutes and he was as good as his word turning up on his motorcycle, opening up and giving me the bag. I found this to be incredibly honest especially in this day and age and my faith in kindness and honesty somewhat restored. Thank you once again to the staff, and coupled with a lovely meal I would recommend this establishment to anyone.

Had a nice bit of lunch here , pork bap , and toasties were fresh to order , filled a hole , would def visit again,not a huge amount of seating but ample space to eat

A first time visit for us although we visit Barmouth regularly. Wish we had found it sooner. It’s not very large, but the tables are well spaced so you don’t feel hemmed in, it’s also very dog friendly which is important to us. They serve basic meals in the main, but it’s all home made. There’s the usual full English, a selection of curries plus a few other appetising dishes. My wife went for the Welsh Lamb Cowl, which was delicious, I went for basic Ham, egg & chips. The ham came as two thick slices and was superb. The staff are brilliant, especially the young lady taking the orders, she was friendly and nothing was too much trouble, she is a credit to the cafe. We will definitely be calling in again and we highly recommend it.

Popped in for breakfast and ordered 1 large and one normal . Waitress mixed up the order but once sorted was a tasty breakfast and freshly cooked. The tea served hadn’t been boiled properly and when asked to change for a coffee instead that arrived as instant, she then said we do fresh if you prefer and changed it no problem. Can’t think why any cafe would serve instant coffee when you can serve fresh. Nice enough place though and very good breakfast.

Husband and I stumbled upon this little gem of a cafe on our trip to Barmouth on 16/05/2024 . Lovely waitress and very friendly owner/chef made us feel instantly welcome ! We are vegan/vegetarian and there were lots of choices on the menu for us ! I originally chose the vegan cowl and crusty bread but this unfortunately was sold out so I opted for the vegetable curry in a jacket potato and side salad and hubby chose vegetarian breakfast with a side order of fries ( which were to die for as they were skin on and lightly coated in a seasoned crispy batter ) When our meals came to the table the portion sizes were huge and looked amazing ! Extremely clean , cozy and dog friendly ! We will be back next time we visit Barmouth and hopefully I get to try the vegan cowl ! So glad we found this special little place

Wonderful food with a view of the scintillating High Street of Barmouth. Good value and excellent service. Cash point across the street and art abounds. Perfect.

Good cooked breakfast and cup of tea, really friendly service and excellent with my son who had a cheese sandwich cut into little triangles and a milkshake. Cheerful bright deco, would recommend. I’d be happy to pay more for a premium local sausage option.

Wonderful friendly stall and excellent food at a very reasonable price. Lovely sit down breakfast was consumed. Vegetarian and meat choices made everyone happy. If you want great food at a good price for a sit down meal in Barmouth you can't beat The Lunchbox. Outside- look up to see the Boot- then you are there.

What a great place. Very friendly. Great choice of vegan and vegi , but not forgetting meat eaters. Very dog friendly with sausage for his breakfast. This is a very unpretentious place, giving good quality food at very reasonable prices.

Friendly cafe a short walk from the beach. Barmouth is a tricky place to find vegan food so we were delighted to find some options here, including breakfast and plant milk for drinks. Big portions and great value. We were so full up from breakfast that we had no room for lunch! Lovely coffee too. The waitress was super friendly and didn't stop working the whole time we were there, polishing cutlery and maintaining great standards that the prices wouldn't lead you to expect. Lovely little place catering to a growing market and a pleasure to find in Barmouth.

Really lovely team behind the counter, freindly, helpful and fun. Nothing was too much trouble, even our dog was given a warm welcome. We had 2 all day breakfasts, coffees, toast and couldn't fault the food or the service. Happy days 👍🏼

We both had a lovely cooked breakfast, and enjoyed it. The staff were very friendly and we enjoyed a good chat and were made to feel very much at home.

The staff were welcoming and super friendly. The food was freshly and well cooked and very good value. Would highly recommend (but don't leave it too late in the day to visit as they had run out of some things when we arrived at 3ish, but were very happy to make substitutions). They were also very dog friendly (we don't have one but it was obvious with others who did) .

We popped in today after our walk from Fairbourne. To be great by a extremely friendly lady. So warm and welcoming a rear find these days and a credit to the cafe. The food was warm well cooked, and hit the spot perfectly. And I liked there plan to save waste ask if you wanted the added side salad because if your not going to eat it we won’t serve to save the waste. Great value not over priced. Well worth a pop in. And thank you for the extra mile the tip about the boat back was great thank you. We will be back again.

I had the large breakfast with a pot of tea which came to £9.50. The brekky was cooked ok and presented well. I replaced the hash brown with extra tomatoes as i am not fond of those on a brekky and this was no problem with the pleasant young girl who took my order. Good background music in this establishment with the Small Faces, The Who, The Kinks, Spencer Davis Group....so someone likes there mod and soul retro era music.

The staff are amazing and so welcoming, they really do care about there customers not like most places, where they just care about taking your money. This cafe has a Clean and fresh decor, and great tasting food. If you like a family run restaurant...

Cracking little café loads of different dishes available , spotlessly clean and a nice atmosphere very good BLT in a baguette and a very good cup of tea.

Visited bank Holiday weekend. We were hesitant after seeing the hygiene rating of 3. We decided to go in and give it a try. My son ordered chicken nuggets and chips myself a tuna salad and my husband a burger. To be fair my son enjoyed his and my salad was OK. My husbands burger was like rubber and he could hardly chew it. He said it was the worst burger he had ever eaten. We paid and left. My husband felt sick afterwards. Would not visit again.

I've been going to Barmouth for a number of years and I visit the Lunchbox Cafe regularly. The food is delicious and the lamb dinner is a must. The staff are so helpful and friendly and they cannot do enough for you. Something I saw in the window of the cafe, that I thought was a wonderful gesture was a notice stating that any person living on their own are more than welcome to come to the Lunchbox for free Christmas lunch and festivities. Not only is this a great cafe, but it is also doing a good thing for the community and I say well done.
