I don’t quibble with prices but had two glasses of house white priced £5.50 each charged £7.50 and then £9.00 for a bottle of beer food wasn’t brilliant stodgy undercooked pizza first and last time

We love this place and again there was a friendly welcome and a lovely ambience. so Slightly disappointed by a couple of things on this occasion. Firstly the wine prices are listed as 125ml or bottle. Normally we'd have a bottle but other half was working later and pointed to a glass price £6, that's £36 a bottle equivalent. Glass seemed like it was perhaps more than 125ml and charge £9 for a 175ml, that's nearer £39 bottle equivalent. Very busy on a Saturday and didn't want to create an issue so put it down to experience. Good to know though so documenting here or travellers. Secondly, the Lasagne, despite being absolutely delicious was just a square of Lasagne. Absolutely nothing with it. No salad, veg, chips or anything. I can presume that a large tray of lasagne, with a square costing £14.50, will deliver a few hundred pounds so a little addition on the side would seem reasonable. We'll definitely be back, just a few quibbles that's all.

Excellent little Italian place, food was very tasty, good wine and great service. Not the cheapest around but we felt it was worth the money. We will be back.

I feel as though we have found a little Goldmine! What a great restaurant! We went to L'Ulivo as a family of 6 for my Birthday. The special lunchtime 2 course menu including wine/beer or a soft drink was £15.00! This is a family run business and the food is from family recipes..it was so good. All quality ingredients with excellent service. We will definitely be back! Thank you so much for making my Birthday so special!

I don’t normally leave reviews but we loved it so much!! Highly recommend for lunch. Went today as a party of 6 including a toddler. Every person in our party ate every last crumb of our three courses. The food was delicious, served hot by friendly Italian waiters. Amazed by their starter, main and drink for £15 offer which included a glass of wine (great wine!). The restaurant was quiet and yet it had a wonderful ambiance with Italian music played. Thanks to the lovely staff, we will be back!

Went for Mother's Day lunch expecting it to be busy. On arrival, we were informed that our table wasn't ready and we had to wait another 50 minutes in the bar area for our prebooked table. Took ages for drink orders to be taken, delivered and even longer for food orders to be taken. When food finally arrived, it was just average. We didn't have dessert as we just could not wait to get out of the place.

My first time eating here under the new ownership and I was really looking forward to a special family meal. We expected the restaurant to be busy due to Mother’s Day. We were seated but not given menus, which was unusual. We ordered food eventually, after asking a member of staff if someone could take our order. We shared garlic bread as a starter but waited 2 hours after our original arrival until our main courses arrived! The calzones were a generous size and delicious, the gluten free pizza was good but the pasta dish was much smaller than anticipated with only 12 pasta tubes in a shallow bowl. The staff seemed oblivious to our long wait and an update occasionally would have been appreciated.

Went into the restaurant today but smelt smoke so went straight out. Very surprised that smoking is allowed. Will return later.

We were warmly greeted and shown to our seats. The wine was superb as was the food. We can’t fault this restaurant in any way. The quality of the food and presentation was first class. The place was spotless. We will be back.

Went with my wife and two kids, 8 and 6. Don’t usual head to Alsager but wanted to patronise the local places. None of us have big appetites by any stretch, so to spend £75 and still come away hungry is a bit much. Wouldn’t have minded so much, but the food was average at best. Nothing remotely memorable about it. The place was full, not sure what all the fuss was about. We’ll head to Giovannis in Crewe next time which is better all round.

Very well run, friendly restaurant. The food was great, clearly a very popular place. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening. We sat upstairs which was perfect for my friend and I.

Average food, poor and slow service. I don't think the manager (red velvet jacket) could have been more disinterested if he tried.

Really poor experience - booked for a large group for a birthday party. When we arrived, the table wasn’t big enough for the group size we’d booked for. We were told we could move tables; we had to push some tables together and move seats ourselves whilst the waiters just stood & watched. We had to ask to order our food after 35 minutes as no one came over. Absolutely no logic to taking peoples orders, so they kept missing people out. Extremely miserable waiters who looked like they didn’t want to be there. Didn’t ask if we wanted any more drinks at all, throughout the whole meal. Soft drink glasses were filled 90% with ice. Took 10 minutes to bring the babies birthday cake out, didn’t bring any plates or knives to cut it - when we asked, the waiter just took the cake away from the baby who was in the middle of eating it, without saying a word. Food was nice enough (although more expensive than it used to be), so that’s why I’m giving 2 stars - based upon service, it’s definitely a 1 star.

Went out with group of friends, food excellent service was poor. They were forgetting things and taking forever to bring things.

Eaten here for years, but primarily when had its previous owner. Always had good experiences before, but tonight was disappointing. Staff were pleasant and we were happy with the starters, however were all disappointed with the mains. I genuinely don’t send a meal back as I am not too fussy, however on this occasion we were compelled to send back two pasta dishes due to the excessive amount of salt used. The restaurant was apologetic which was appreciated and replaced the food, however the replacement dishes were just as bad. I didn’t want the embarrassment in the restaurant of sending back the food again. I can only assume the chef thinks this level of salt is acceptable. We eat at many restaurants UK and Worldwide, and generally the experience is good here, but food is definitely not what it used to be. Sorry folks, but it’s highly unlikely we will be returning.

Absolutely lovely experience on our Christmas Day lunch 2023. Great food, great service, great atmosphere…. Service with a smile, and we will be back again!!

First time visiting this restaurant but was blown away with the amazing food and service. My wife and I shared the antipasto starter which was incredible and the bistro rump steak was cooked to perfection. Quite pricey but well worth it. We will definitely return.
