Lucky Star Motherwell Chinese Takeaway in North Lanarkshire

used to be IMO the best in motherwell, then the portions packages got slightly smaller and the prices shot up, still a descent take away but value for money is poor now.,

Chinese is my go-to takeaway. I tried perhaps 5-6 Chinese takeaways when I moved to Motherwell but Lucky Star is for me, the best. They have the kind of curry sauce I really like, and I love that they give you an option to make it hot (but sadly does cost extra). Their BBQ ribs in gravy and their chow mein with gravy are both heavenly, and their chop sui is pretty tasty too. You need to try their chicken noodle soup and pay for the 'make it hot' option... It's something special. PS. They used to be part of Uber One but after that changed, they introduced a £4 delivery fee and increased dish prices, so been ordering less 😔

Took forever to arrive ,even though we had given full address and pinpoint on map,to be greeted by we should give better instructions by a very rude driver. Food got 2 stars as the chow mein was just ok,my meal was put in bin ,chips raw,curry sauce still had large lumps of powder and chicken pieces either brick hard or undercooked .

Order never arrived!! £30 worth of food stated as delivered NOT delivered!! Absolute joke.

Missing items on order. Phoned and they said they never charged me for that... So £16.30 for: Beef curry, portion of crackers and tub of carry sauce

This is one of the nicest chinese takeaways I have had . It's usually my go to place but unfortunately recently no matter how I order phone . App or just eat there is always a missing item from my order and when you phone to inform them all you get is there's nothing we can do .

Company stole my money and refuse to pay back the money they took for a delivery I never received.

Food was always of a great standard. However, the attitude of the woman serving leaves a lot to be desired, and as a result, I won't be returning.

Received my delivery without prawn crackers that I paid extra for. I called and the lady asked if I could get them next time I order, there will NOT be a next time! I didn’t like the chow mein that has some sort of brown sauce in it that tastes putrid, I said I would like to order something else that I WILL pay cash for but encountered such an unprofessional reply that I am disgusted with her. She said why did I order the chow mein if I didn’t like it? Me, being from a different country said I didn’t know it came like that. She said I shouldn’t have ordered it so I interrupted her saying in a stern voice that if she didn’t want to take my money I would go elsewhere. What a way to treat a new customer that wants to pay for something else. Business must be booming! She did say that I should go elsewhere then bye and put the phone down. I’m sitting here with food I can’t eat 😂

Change name 2 or 3 times on just eat but the same problems food is good but if you can get it delivered and its not cold

This has always been our 'Go To' Chinese takeaway and we've never had an issue in all the years we've been ordering from here, but, tonight is another story!!!... The chicken curry!!!... It was absolutely disgusting!!!... It had such a powdery tinge to it, in so much as it tastes EXACTLY like that cheap, disgusting Mayflower Curry sauce that you find in Farmfoods!!!... There's absolutely no way, that was a GENUINE curry sauce!!!... I've kept the specimen for proof as there's no way I'd want anyone in my family subjected to it, not even my dogs!!!... What's going on Lucky Star??? Truly THE worst food we've ever had!!!... I've literally drank so much water that I'm about to burst, just to get rid of that horrendous powdery sauce!!!

Lucky Star Motherwell Chinese Takeaway offers delicious food, and their delivery service is impressively fast. Highly recommended!

We got munchy box. No naan bread or salad in it. Not much meat in box. No more munchy box.s for us. 👎

Recently moved nearby and ordered a takeaway from here. Never post reviews but meal both myself and wife had was fantastic, best Chinese takeaway I've had in a long time. Will definitely order again

Ordered from here about 7 or 8 times now and they have quickly become our first choice of takeaway. Food is always hot, fresh and delicious. The longest we have waited for delivery so far is 25mins and normally they are even quicker

Called up to find out that after you pay the £3 delivery you will then be charged an extra £2 at the door for delivery also so all in £5 and Also have to pay 2 delivery charges , won't be back absolutely shocking .

We placed our order at 7pm and didn’t receive it until 9:45pm after being told the order would only take 40 minutes to arrive. We had to phone the restaurant 3 times in which we were told the first time that they didn’t even know if it was out for delivery or if the food had even been cooked. After this we phoned again before deciding whether we should cancel the order or not, the order was apparently next to be sent out. An hour after this we phoned again as it was coming closer to 10pm and we were then told the order was on the way after waiting over 2.5 hours. We are only 10 minutes away, and we were told that our order is taking longer because of how far away we live? It’s sad because the food wasn’t bad, but we will avoid ordering from there in the future. The service was not great either.

If you're looking for a Chinese that will deliver 3 hours after ordering then perfect. Call handler also doesn't care as when calling to ask when the order might arrive (1 hour 30 after ordering) you'll be told your food is sitting waiting but no idea when it will be delivered.

Ordered quite a few meals tonight. Absolutely fantastic service. All containers wrapped in clingfilm to stop leakage, portions were great and all were piping hot. Would recommend Lucky Star and rate it 10/10. Well done .Will definately be back and hopefully all my friends and family to. Thank you.👏👏

Ordered the salt and chilli munchy box and it got delivered 10 minutes early and it was boiling hot so 10/10, the food was fresh and juicy, gravy was great and I will continue to order from here 10/10

I..... I don't know what to say. I work in a takeaway so I know sometime it's really hard to get the delivery quick and fast. But it took an hour and a half for my order to arrived during the weekday which whoever worked in a takeaway will say it's hardly busy. Not my concern but the driver seems a bit too depress. Second time ordering from this takeaway from what I can remembered, first time being few years ago. I will compare this to other takeaways. The foods is bad bad. King prawn satay comes with 3 skews, 1 skew less than others with 30p more expensive than the others. Chip, chicken ball fried rice with sauce comes in a plastic container while others comes in a mini box or polystyrene container. Soggy chicken balls. Satay sauce from the king prawn satay looks more like a black pepper sauce than satay sauce. I feel like they are cutting corner in tern of ingredients you can hardly taste anything with the king prawn satay. You can only taste the.... the prawn. No satay taste and all with the "satay sauce" that doesn't taste like satay sauce. Luckily I didn't order more than this as it would a was the money and a waste of food. Never again.

Tastes horrible, hate it no flavour at all very basic food

Went into lucky star for first and last time . Unfriendly and ignorant counter girl got my order wrong , probably due to the fact she stared at her mobile phone all the time I was there . My trainers were sticking to the floor like some jakey pub and when I phoned to complain about her mistake the customer service was shocking . I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy

The new manager was replaced and the food was much better than before.

If you enjoy waiting 3 hours for your order to be delivered then this is definitely the place for you. Some people like speedy or even normal service. Not me. I like to scan my phone for delivery updates every 10 minutes and listening to my stomach grumble. Still waiting on this dump to deliver my chicken curry. Hopefully it will take another 3 hours. I quite like eating my dinner at 4 in the morning.

Had singapore fried rice - quick friendly service. Food tasty but only had two shrimps in a big portion of rice was expecting few more shrimps please!

Shocking service, ordered 1 chicken curry, rice and chips, 1 beef curry with rice started dishing it out to find there was no beef curry. Phoned back up to tell them there order was wrong, waited another half an hour everything freezing by this point to be told they are only sending out another beef curry.The chips and rice was cold, we weren't happy as this was a meal we we're looking forward to before my husband went on night shift. The next day and we're still waiting on our money back, the service needs to improve drastically and we won't be going back.

Ordered chicken wings from lucky star in Motherwell an hour ago and got all drumsticks, horrible starchy batter and called the shop to let them know. Female member of staff assured me it’s a mixture of both when in actual fact it was all drumsticks. Politely suggested maybe they should mention this to customers on the phone for her to laugh and hang up. If you want salt and chilli wings OR customer service don’t go to lucky star!
