Crowwood House Hotel in North Lanarkshire

Avoid this place at all costs, unhelpful staff and disgusting management that are more interested in taking your money than solving issues with customers. It says on the website free breakfast, however I was charged separately for breakfast I was also charged £150 for a night I didn’t stay and was refused a refund even though I had no choice but to leave early due to the unhelpful staff members who refused to make my stay comfortable. View from bedroom was of the overflowing rubbish skips and staff outside smoking. By far the worst place I have ever stayed.

Excellent service in restaurant and fabulous food. First time staying overnight and room was spotless! Pleasantly surprised and will definetly be back. Reception and cleaning staff couldn't have been more helpful.

I was here for a conference and lunch. I did not stay in a room. The hotel service was excellent and the lunch was fantastic. Hopefully be back to try the dinner menu.

Arranged to meet an old friend for a catch up as handy to motorway. Contemplated dinner but unfortunately the confrontational approach of manager when having pre dinner soft drinks was off putting. We had sat in an area which seemed like the reception, then moved to a downstairs cold area, set for dinner which was empty. Not able to take jackets off we returned to reception then told to move as it was under refurbishment. These premises appear to not encourage passing trade or create a welcoming atmosphere hence we left and will certainly not return. In addition the restaurant was practically empty and there were no signs saying area was cordined off.

The hotel staff are very friendly and the rooms are fine. The adjoining bar / restaurant is really weird. It's not a bar. You can't order a drink at the bar. Instead you've to order and pay for everything at a maitre d station. The Indian styled menu is good though.

Rooms and hallways a bit dated and cleanliness is lacking.

Had a weekend stay here with extended family back in August. Although nothing wrong with our 4 rooms we have been CHARGED TWICE for the booking and the hotel is refusing to refund their mistake. A significant amount of money! Would not recommend.

Rooms ok hospitality excellent. And cheaper than premier inn. And better food.

What a DOWN!!! The room was not cleaned, fresh towels - none! The food was OK and “clear” This hotel is definitely not recommended!

We stayed there for 3 nights in August, as a bus trip, and all we can say is "NEVER AGAIN", the hotel was dirty, the room faced the 4-lane highway, extremely loud, rooms dirty, staff unfriendly, etc., is not at all recommended.

Decent hotel, relatively clean and tidy parking available and attached to a very nice Indian restaurant. Wasn't the cheapest at 65 per night but there wasn't much else around. Overall it was a pleasant stay

Hotel is right on the main street. Some rooms are just 5 meters from the street. The breakfast on a group trip can really only be described as poor. Dinner for groups fills you up but doesn't fill you up anymore. My recommendation is to spend a little more money and sleep in peace.

Like other guests of the hotel, we had not chosen this hotel. The first impression wasn't so bad. We didn't have high expectations. We had read about the fact that the hotel is winding, there is no elevator, and the furnishings are outdated. Dinner was good, we could choose from three starters and three main courses. The variant of getting drinks, first ordering at one counter and paying, then picking up the drinks at the next one, was new, but not a problem. But if you wanted to sit together for a while after dinner, that was more of a problem. On the one hand, there were only a few places to sit, and on the other hand, the drinks were served very early and we were asked to leave. On the subject of WiFi, one had the impression that it was switched off promptly at 8 p.m. According to a statement at the hotel, there were technical problems. Since they also appeared on the second evening, one could doubt the statement. In summary, as an individual tourist I would never book this hotel. And I can only advise everyone else not to do that.

The hotel is remote from Glasgow, there is no possibility of experiencing anything on site in the evenings. The hotel bar closes at 10 p.m. The hallways smell musty and there are water stains on the walls. Rooms are so noisy, as if you were lying in the same room. The food was comparable to a youth hostel. There was nothing fresh for breakfast, just some canned fruit. Only the egg was very tasty. The waiters made an effort, but were unorganized in handling our tour group. All in all a better motel, but not a mid-range hotel. We traveled as a group in July 2024.

I recently stayed at the Crowwood Hotel and enjoyed my experience. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The Alba Restaurant served delicious food, adding to the overall positive experience. However, the room decor felt a bit dated, and noise from the main road was noticeable at times. Overall, it's a good value for money and I would recommend it for a comfortable stay in Glasgow.

On arrival we had to wait on the pre booked table we reserved. We ordered drinks while waiting and told we couldn't get them until the table was ready and we were seated. Starters arrived ok, and then the main course arrived, but starter plates hadn't been cleared,table overloaded with crockery and cutlery with one stressed waiter trying to sort everything out.

When we arrived in room 5 the first thing that struck me was the musty smell emanating from the room and the adjoining hallway. Second disappointment, the room was filled with around thirty midges flying around the room (there were mainly on the window which, I suppose, overlooked the restaurant trash cans? On the bed as well as in the bathroom). I don't know if we were the only ones in this situation but given the smell in the hallway it wouldn't surprise me if other rooms were affected. In all cases we asked to change rooms because the idea of ​​sleeping with a room full of midges seemed unacceptable to us. The staff was understanding and transferred us to another hotel in the same group (the Mango). To my great surprise the new room assigned to us (number 3) also had midges (around ten). The quantity of insects being much lower in this room we killed them and decided to stay because we were exhausted. Another disappointment: the next day we returned to the Crowwood hotel to have breakfast (paid £40 for 2 people for 2 days): on our arrival breakfast did not take place in the main room of the Alba restaurant but in a room much less comfortable upstairs. In addition, the buffet barely had any food left. There was still some sandwich bread, jam and orange juice… we didn’t go back the next day. In short, I don't know if our expectations are too high, but even if the price is attractive, we invite you to avoid this hotel.

Very basic rooms. Clean enough. No frills. No room service. Difficult location so walkability not really possible. No views. Nearby activities are nearby local golf course. Ideal for golfers. Good points were restaurant attached to hotel with decent food served - if somewhat overpriced - and bar open roll late for drinks to be taken to room.

Good place for staying and getting into Glasgow to avoid driving and parking. The Stepps train station was a 20 min walk and trains were frequent and took us to Queen Street station.

I didn't stay over so can't rate the rooms. My friends and I went for lunch. Really good food and an interesting menu with a mix and match choice of Indian and European. The staff were happy to substitute items on the menu and the food was really delicious. Beautiful restaurant with ample space for parking and at an extremely good price. Can't wait to go back again.

Stayed here last August during UCI World Champs, when Glasgow hotels were super busy. Decent location (if you have a car), the hotel itself is nothing special (think Premiere Inn), but reasonable value for money. A couple of things that detracted from our experience: - The stuff we met (reception, restaurant) was giving us attitude in response to most innocuous questions. This confrontational mode was a major turn-off. - "Scottish breakfast" in the hotel was a joke - you'll get a much better breakfast for less money in Glasgow. Overall, the hotel has good potential, just need staff with better attitude and improved breakfast menu

Arrived at hotel to find no one on reception; waited around fifteen minutes before someone showed up (no way to signal for attention), but they were very nice and helpful once there. Nice location, decent room, though exterior Aircon vents were too loud until 9PM.

Hotel for purely overnight stays. Reception is far from welcome. Staff are more concerned with themselves than the guests. Music with East Asian influences is played far too loudly in the lounge. Drinks must be ordered in 2 stages. Restaurant is only Indian food. Location of hotel is bad, busy road and nothing in the area. We took the bus to Glasgow for a restaurant.

Located right on a main street (rooms sometimes look noisy), bathroom was clean. It felt like there were 3 carpets on top of each other which was strangely soft to walk on. In the breakfast room, the edges of the carpets stood up, which really meant a fall and risk of injury. Unfortunately breakfast, which was supposed to be warm, was rather cold. Dinner was 👍 good in terms of portion size and taste. Staff was friendly.

A hotel just for staying overnight. The rooms are furnished with a kettle with tea or coffee, a hairdryer and a television. a large bed, which is very comfortable, but completely carpeted. Which is a big drawback. It sticks to your feet. nice hot water in the bathroom. The bathroom also has a bathtub, although it is very narrow. We give it three stars.

Birthday party meal For 13 people the food was delicious the service was excellent and they made my daughter very happy as the staff sang happy birthday to her

Hello I don't think I have ever given so much star ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ to any hotel that I have visited in the past but, they deserve every one of them. Loved it.

The service was great but unfortunately they need to decide on what type of restaurant they are. Their Italian food was a poor imitation, but their Indian food was very good. My advice would be stick with what you're good at. I didn't appreciate being overcharged in the end. It was a set lunch menu and they tried to charge for 5 people when there were only 3 of us.

My wife and I lived in this hotel for 1 week during the pandemic. It was not an easy time, but I am only now writing a review about it, because the hotel staff did everything they could for us at the highest level. I especially want to highlight and praise the chef who prepared our food during that difficult time. I remember the food was brought directly to our room and left outside the door, but the food was incredible. It was Italian cuisine. I had never tried this kind of food before, and I still haven’t tried it now. It was a super food based on pasta varieties. Every day there was different food. I still have the taste of that food in my mouth. We would like to say thank you to the chef who prepared our food. He may no longer work at this hotel, but thanks to him, and thanks to the staff who took care of us then. We walked along the golf course every day and we felt incredibly good then. It was spring, April 2020. Thank you dears.

Went for lunch with friends. Surprised to see Indian options on the dual menu, which we all then decided to pick. Food was lovely. Service was excellent. Our one year old daughter was even welcomed by other diners as she crawled all over the dining room after we had eaten.
