Worst chips I have ever eaten, I’m so sorry but I really don’t understand how they can be this bad. Service was nice, food rank

We got a delivery. Food was okay.

Chips always look really nice but taste yuk.I walk to further ones now as i got sick of chucking yucky meals away

Wish I'd read other reviews before I went. They don't serve good old fashioned 'chippy chips', these are obvious to Stevie Wonder that they are fried from frozen. The irony that for a treat I said I'd go and get us some chips instead of buying some. Yet better cooked in the air fryer. One lucky star given from me for the curry.

Simply delicious. Opens too late in the afternoons

Called in and got chips and curry, absolutely vile chips were frozen woman went in the back to cook them as the were no fryers on at all the curry had weird taste! Two hours after eating some of them I was 🤢 vomiting !! Please avoid!! I will be reporting to council

Use pre bought frozen chips not cut potatoes , and expensive.

Awful chips. Got home and found them to be frozen chips cooked, waste of £5 spent on large chips and curry

Always great service, hot food and very quick. Great priced food too, and sometimes get free prawn crackers etc.

Absolutely shocking Chinese chippy only popped in for a chip batch which is now £2.40 😳 The chips where from a bag of frozen chips an reheated from the night before they were rock solid no salt and vinegar on and I wasn’t asked! an the batch was very cheap and nasty, I think if you can’t get the basics right then the rest must be awful..

Good portion sizes, food always cooked fresh when I've been recently, worth the wait.

Used to be a lovley little chippy untill it was taken over ate from there twice after the take over but Not been here since it was shut down over issues it then had referb and was reopened from welcome fish and chips to lucky star

Great small local chippy, food always cooked well and nice. Haven't had anything bad from them so far, been under new management for a couple months now.

Good food and nice service, must try New in town, the place has been fully refurbished and under new management, way better than the last owners Crispy chips, awesome chinese food. Definitely recommended.

This is the best chippy in birkenhead no delivery but food excellent woudnt go any where else since review mouse droppings found all over kitchen closed by council would never go back

Rating of 1 recently and now new rating of ZERO as of 20/11/19. This from the council hygiene inspectors.

Must admit it doesn't look much but food and owners are lovely

Soggy and undercooked chips not warm enough best thing was the curry

Welcomes great tasting Chinese meals served by the ever smiling Sue are delicious and excellent value for money. Welcomes large menu will not disappoint people who are looking for something different and tasty, this of course includes English meals and traditional fish and chips, you can even order a small fish if required but it's anything but small at about 10" in length and is great for people with a smaller apatite. Talking of which, there's also a small meal section on the menu which again is a great option for people not wanting or unable to eat a full sized meal. So if you're in the area and want good value, tasty, Chinese and English food give Welcome a try, I'm pretty sure you won't be disappointed by the food or service you'll receive.

Friedly family business in Balls Road Oxton. Good food and good portion sizes. Plenty of chippies in the area but not many good ones but this one is worth a visit. Unsure on the food hygiene score which shops usually display but couldn't see one on show hence 4* .

Beautiful fish and chips and chicken nuggets

Having not longed moved to Oxton, this was the first chippy I’ve tried that not only does amazing curry, but also gravy too. For me they are the deal breakers. Anything else is a bonus. I can honestly say that EVERYTHING I’ve had from here (4 times this week alone 😂) is delicious, reasonably priced and served quickly. Love it and will not be moving anytime soon. 🥰

We're a bit spoilt for chippies around here, ranging from great to dodgy. Welcome is the nearest one to me and fortunately it's great. Food is always tasty and the portions are generous.
