Chicken chow mein without any chicken.. really disappointed won't be ordering anything again!

Where do I start. Use to be the best Chinese in the town but it’s a country miles off now. Food always takes ages after being told 20 mins on the phone, expect more like 45-50 mins! Opened up my chilli beef after driving a 3 mile round trip and it was bone dry with no sauce and with no delivery option it’s a nightmare to get any issue with your order resolved without getting back in the car & heading back there yourself while the rest of the food is stood waiting going cold. Never get any free prawn crackers or fortune cookies unless you spend over £25. Very disappointing

By far the best in oswestry. There food is amazing and great price. We ordered a meal for 4 and it was ready in 10 mins. There chicken and mushroom curry is out of this world.

It would be great if they got you order correct! Even corrected them and still got it wrong

On our last visit a couple of weeks ago the chicken chow main had very little meat and the house special rice was very poor,have been going here for years but not anymore,very disappointed

Delicious food cooked quickly. It is a takeaway, so no atmosphere to speak of.

Picked up takeaway and drove home only to find part of it missing. Asked them if they would refund the missing food, but I had to either drive back to collect the missing food or pick up the refund. We're not in town so would probably have cost more in fuel. Wouldn't transfer refund online so won't be using again. Shame

Had a chicken and mushroom curry tonight and it was horrid, could not eat it. The chicken looked dark like duck and the amount of fatty skin that was in it made it taste like fat. Could not taste the curry after a few mouthfuls it went straight in the bin.

Not what you expect to find in your spring roll. Shockingly they are also made on site at the lucky star Chinese in Oswestry who weren’t very concerned and basically asked us to keep it quiet…. I feel so sick as I only found this when I bit into it and it was in my mouth when it cut me 😩😩🤮😭 please be careful if you use this Chinese. I’m so worried incase a child is given one or if it’s possibly in any of their other food. It could really cause some damage as it’s a disgusting piece of rusty barbed wire!!!!

On holiday in the area and wasn't disappointed, food was lovely and would not hesitate to use again 👍

It was Tuesday, and we wanted a Chinese... round by us there was nowhere open... so I travelled for miles in a straight line till I found one. This. The first thing that struck me was, in its own way, it looked pretty cool from the outside. The young lady inside made me laugh when she said it is because they've got brains, because everyone else shuts theirs on a Monday or a Tuesday, so they shut theirs on a Wednesday. We got a couple of McChinese things in that you get them everywhere, normally replicated - chicken chow mein and cantonese sweet and sour king prawn. The taste was brilliant. I also bought a seaweed and a duck and pork friend rice. The seaweed especially can be done badly and well. This was right up there with going to a very good restaurant. Wholeheartedly recommend. Bang on. Well worth the travel, and will put up with now, 20 minutes journey to make this my go to Chinese.

Staff are friendly and helpful. The food is always decent.

10/10 - what an amazing place, the girl taking our order was exceptionally nice and helped us to make our order vegan, food quality was 10/10, place is clean, it is hard to find a place this good. Definitely recommend and will visit again when in the area 🙂

They were shut tonight and I really fancied Chinese food, unfortunately for the first time in ages I went somewhere else, I only ate half of it but the dog enjoyed what I left. Next time it’s shut I’ll have Indian. Lucky Star is the best in the area by far.

No contactless payment. Cash only. Really? It’s 2021. I didn’t bother. I bet a lot of their people have walked as well.

The most expensive Chinese in Oswestry but the food normally justifies the price. However the past 4 times I've been I've had to wait for 20-30mins longer than the time stated on the phone. Not ideal when you can't even sit inside. I probably won't come again after I was told to collect in 50 mins, arrived 5 minutes late as I know what they are like, to be told it would 'only be 5 minutes' and have been left waiting for another 20 minutes!

Prawns and meat in our house special still chilled when eating, Shame as it's normally good.

Very tasty n spicy Singapore Fried Rice with chips and cup of curry sauce - Lush Covid precautions in place (June 13th), cash only with all change sanitized for customer and staff safety. Perspex screen in place. All appreciated by me.

Previous 3 times of going we were left waiting for longer than they had mentioned over the phone when placing the order (20 mins longer). Food can be good but has recently been very inconsistent. When complaining about the wait the owner couldn't have cared less, this is what prompted me to leave this review. Wouldn't return as since then we have tried other options out (Golden City, New City) which are more friendly, fresher food and either the same price or cheaper.

Great Chinese takeaway in Oswestry good sized portions and quickly put our order together the girl who was taking the orders was also very polite and friendly. Highly recommended

We were visitors to Oswestry,and ordered a delivery.Excellent,only had to wait 15-20 mins. for it.And I can honestly say it was the best chinese take-away we had had for a long time.Very fresh,and the meat and chicken cooked well and tasty.Thank you very much Lucky Star.

Always a very friendly service. One of the girls knows the menu and prices off by heart! Fantastic food and always ready when they say it is. Not surprisingly this place is very popular!

having eaten Chinese for many years and having a good friend who was Chinese at school I feel in a good position to post a review. best takeaway crispy duck, average prices and good size portions. my favourite is the Cantonese style sweet & sour. sometimes free prawn crackers as well! just tell them when ordering Jon recommended them.
