Ordered a large takeaway meal (27 items) for teatime collection for a party. Everything was perfect. The meal was ready bang on time, all the dishes were there, it was piping hot and the food was great. What more could you ask for? I would definitely recommend this takeaway.

Never ever had a beef chow mein that has broccoli, mushroom, cabbage & carrots in it! Hong Kong style chicken was also a joke, just battered bits of chicken in sweet & sour sauce. If I could give zero stars I would… inedible!!

I have always used this takeway. But lately it is really poor ordered crispy duck looked like they sent someone else's leavings and was freezing cold? Other items were awful, It's such a shame but will not be going back here again

This has been our go to Chinese for many years. We have always recommended this Chinese, and even when we moved further away we still travelled over to this place and unfortunately until today we didn't realise it had been taken over. Food is nowhere near as nice as it was, the food looked horrible and tastes quite bad! It's safe to say we won't be going to this Chinese again. I doubt we will find another Chinese as good as what lucky star used to be with the previous owners.

Our regular Chinese was closed so thought we would try this one. ordered on a Saturday night, so I expected it to be busier however Waited for our food for the hour called up after an hour and 15 minutes was told food was on the way waited another 20 minutes called again was told food is definitely on its way! Again still no food , so called for a third time and said Driver had to go deal with a personal matter by this point was an hour and 45 minutes. Finally, somebody turned up who was very pleasant he did explain the situation apologised and refunded our money . I explained i was told my food was on the way three times but was lied to we could have been told the truth the first time and Collect the food that would of been no problem but instead we had sat waited. So The service beforehand was very poor but the food was ok , I would eat it again but was a shame the customer service wasn’t great.

Really gone down hill this place

Ordered online from here last week. Wait time said 20min to collect. Spent nearly 1hr40 min sat most of that in the cold shop front. One order was brought out about 20 min before the other though both ordered together. Very lukewarm when we got home! Staff didn't give much apology or explanation. Will never use this takeaway again!!

Fuiyo! Great place to order original Chinese food. My most favourite dish is Crispy Shredded Beef with rice!

The food it dirty and horrible got the rice and it was like slush and the duck was not even cooked BRING BACK THE OTHER STAFF WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING AS IM NOT COMING BACK UNTILL !!!!!!

Used to order food from here but new people have taken over and the food doesn't taste as good as it did, this was my go to Chinese in alfreton but after having upset stomach twice since ordering, I'm having to travel for my Chinese, even phoned about it there English is really bad and while complaining about thier food making me sick she thought I was trying to place an order hoped this helped thanks but I'll be eating else where :)

I would never go anywhere else for Chinese food. You literally can not beat lucky star, the service is great and the good is always hot and delicious and always arrives on the time stated when ordering.

ordered from here for the first time tonight and was absolutely delighted with my order. i highly recommend the chicken chow mein it was delicious. also the staff member who answered the phone treated me with respect and kindness

Just picked up my order. Had the crispy shredder chicken there is no chicken just batter. And my chicken chicken chow mein which was slimy and smelt revolting prawn crackers also dont taste anything like prawn crackers what the hell. Never ordering for here again

Spent £32 last night, I ordered chicken chow mein, it had 2 pieces of chicken in it, a crispy chilli chicken which was just batter and no chicken at all, usually this place is great, but if you have chicken dishes, you would actually receive some chicken 😡😡, a lot of money for not a lot of food

Friendly, quick and pretty good quality. They're main advantage is that they stay open later than the rest and attend all the party goers with style and patience.

By far the best Chinese takeaway in the area. Highly recommended. Chicken satay skewers are a particular favourite of mine as is the chicken in plum sauce.

Although the food is nice, the wait on delivery is ridiculous. Near a 3hr wait on a £90 order without so much an apology.

Stunning food. The gentleman that works front is lovely and always makes an effort to speak to us. Weather he see us at his work place or just out and about. Never order anywhere else.

We don't eat Chinese takeaway often but when we do Lucky Star is always the place we head to. I absolutely love the beef chow mein and also the beef satay. That said I was shocked whilst perusing the menu tonight to see that the prices have sky rocketed since I last visited a few months ago and not just by a few pence. The spring rolls have almost doubled in price. The food is lovely but the inflated prices let them down, especially when you only have a set budget.

Food was bland, missing items from order ....chips were cold and soggy, (frozen chips not fresh) spicy chillie chips soggy and old .....king prawns in batter, batter to thick and not cooked enough, not crispy....deep fried chicken wings ....soggy no flavour to them .....we spend £70 wasn't worth it ....felt like we were robbed.....STAY CLEAR of this TAKEAWAY

Well, my wife ordered a steak and she says it wasn't bad however... we ordered spicy chips that was very nice BEST part of both meals the beef chow main i ordered was basically Slime with lumps of an unknown meat that had the texture of a lump of raw fat covered in slime with NO taste at all ended up in the bin after 2 forks - the food was vile will not order again, would not recommend.

I find peace metal wool in my meal...excellent I don't think to comment more... .👎and also is now what I order .I ask to have only meat with onion. ...I have 5 peace meat really small, I ask no sauce it has a lot... I told I'm on diet it's mean no sugar (it's has a lot in sauce) How to comment thay did axactly what I don't want ....pfff

Awful! Crispy chilli beef was chewy as anything. Wasn't at all what was expected. Very disappointing. Rang to complain and didn't even get offered a refund. Won't be recommending or visiting again!!

Use this regularly always good food. Gets busy on Friday and Saturday so ring ahead and order buy phone or online. Parking convenient next to B&M. Doesn't take cards on counter sadly but can on internet order.

The good points, quick and easy to place an order over the phone, turnaround time quick for collection too. Extremely polite and engaged in chit chat. The hot mixed special appetisers tasted great, however surprised at the small portions! Special curry was really nice and flavoursome. Chicken balls were the best I've had, Crispy shredded chilli beef wasn't at all crispy and had little chilli bite, the chilli chicken was also quite bland, the special fried rice limited. On the whole, not great, and not bad by any means - had worse! However I will stick with The Lucky Star in Kirkby

Absolutely disgusting, the pork was off, smelt and tasted horenduse. All the food smelt off. AVOID!!! Cant get the vile taste out of my mouth, £20 wasted, sat hungry n now waiting for the upset tummy. Thank u lucky star
