Beautiful venue, tastefully furnished and decorated, creating a lovely dining experience. Mixed with unbelievably good Italian food - i could literally taste Italy in the tomatoes - and wonderful service - i could not fault it, and we will definitely be back again.

Apart of the good service( still left £40 tips) and wine nothing was not even average... Carbonara served were cooked at least 10 min before they ve been served, there was no "creamy pecorino" but cooked eg. The pizza was like a piece of ruber and the Ferrero Rocher chocolate cheesecake was just a normal cheesecake with a Ferrero praline beside it. There is no point to speak about the steak... So Mr. Owner, you need to find a chef ASAP or Gino D'acampo will be very upset

Had a great night service and food were great

On arrival we were left for a long time at the table without any drinks and the restaurant was almost empty so no reason for it …. Average food. Seafood pasta, sea bass was amazing as well as mussels. Bruschetta not grilled enough almost too soft and too dry but when they found out that it was not very good they did not charge us for it. Unfortunately we did not look for free food but for very good food. Sorry. Overall decor very nice and welcoming with cosy soft furnishings and impeccable white table cloths. Renato saved the day but the experience was lacking something overall.

An absolute gem of a restaurant! The whole experience is fantastic! The decor is fantastic and even the toilets are classy! Food and drink amazing, and too cheap in my opinion. This is one of London's best kept secrets, and should be visited!

This was the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. My husband and I were staying at the ME hotel, breakfast is served in Lucino’s. It took quite some time for the waiter to take our order, we both ordered eggs royal, coffee and tap water. We had to ask a second time for the water as it did not arrive. The table next to us had their food arrive at the table, they reminded the waiter that they had asked for water twice already and it still had not arrived. The unenthusiastic waiter replied ‘ok’ and walked off still not serving water! I ended up giving them the remainder of our bottle of table water. The food arrived, mine had a long hair lying across the top it, the waiter said they would replace it. My husband then cut into his eggs, one was rock hard, completely over cooked. The second was raw. Raw egg white run all over his plate. My replacement eggs arrived, I was shocked to find they were cold. Not just Luke warm cold, but fridge cold! The muffin, eggs and sauce all fridge cold. Clearly they do not cook orders fresh to order, but reheat to order. Except someone forgot to heat mine up. We decided we did not want to waste anymore time in lucianos and would need to get breakfast elsewhere. We complained to the waiter whom seemed disinterested. The manager was within earshot and approached the table but was just smiling and nodding. She was not shocked on hearing that the food fridge cold, did not offer an apology and seemed to agree with us on how terrible it was. Luciano’s was appalling! If staying at ME hotel DO NOT BOOK BREAKFAST!

Rude waiter and zero service (Ignored, Arrogant, no offer of parmesan cheeses, olive oil etc had to ask and wait, we went to desk to settle) , Starter (Bruschetta) was tasteless.

This was our second visit, and it was just as good as our first. Service is excellent, attentive but not intrusive. Food is superb, portions good size. Highly recommended.

Me and my partner Tim went to the london restaurant last night and it was lovely, great food , reasonably priced and I have to say the high light was our waiter Ali , what a guy , so funny and made us feel at ease. Loved him , thank you 😊

Stunning place, delicious food (I recommend the Rib Eye), excellent wine list and delicious tiramisu. I thank Renato infinitely for the fantastic welcome, we had a great time! A truly great dinner and evening. We will return here next time in London. SPOT ON!

Wonderful atmosphere, friendly staff and great food.

Was recommended by the hotel concierge and had reservations. Young Lady at desk was warm and welcoming. We were seated in a half empty dining room toward the kitchen. After about 15 min we were greeted by a gentlemen in a suit who delivered the menus and disappeared, he returned after a while and begrudgingly took our order. We were brought out a very nice anti pasta after about 45 min, the gentleman did apologize for the wait. We had to find a server to get some olive oil for the bread. Dinner was brought out later still and it was no more than ok. The lasagna was decent , the eggplant was cooked well, but overpowered by a pancetta flavor. We watched servers dote on other tables and repeatedly return to the tables to check on their guests. I cannot say the same. Finally another worked asked if we were done, and we asked for the check. The bill was dropped with a bold Line - total. A smaller print lighter ink- optional 13% server fee- and the total in bold print When the worker return for the credit card I said only charge the first fee- he shocked that we wouldn’t pay the optional fee for service that was poor. I said well we were forgotten back here and we were quite unhappy. He sheepishly smiled and agreed. Very disappointing and we made sure to let the hotel manager know about the experience.

Recently dined here with my husband before going to see a show in the west end. First impressions were really good. The restaurant was decorated lovely and the staff were welcoming but unfortunately that's all I can really say positive about the place. The food was very bland and nothing special despite the price we paid for it. Also they got my starter order wrong, but I was still happy to eat what was brought instead. I feel the portion size was okay for mine but my husband was still left hungry after his. Also service was very rushed.Our starters arrived less than 5mins from ordering. Very disappointed.You are just paying for the 'name' of the restaurant.Honestly had nicer food in my local pub. I have given 3 stars due to the appeal and look of the place and for the staff.

This is a lovely restaurant in a wonderful location. Definitely lives up to the expectation. We were served by Daniel who was an excellent server and did everything he could to give us a top notch experience. Would love to return!

Visited for my friend's birthday. Had a bit of trouble finding the restaurant initially my phone was directing me to 330Strand which was in fact incorrect. On arrival however it was a lovely experience. The restaurant was extremely quite but our reservation was for 3pm so not surprising really. We chose the 3 course set lunch menu and we were also able to take advantage of the January sale which was excellent. My friend had calamari to start followed by bolognese and then tiramisu. I had bruschetta, and amazing chicken in cream sauce and gelato to finish. Dishes were beautifully presented and delicious. The set menu even included a complimentary drink and we chose Prosecco and an Aperol Spritz. My friend was delighted when presented with a happy birthday plate. Really lovely experience and will definitely return.

Our evening at Luciano by Gino D’Acampo on The Strand looked promising with its elegant décor and festive atmosphere but quickly turned disappointing. Service lagged from the start, with overwhelmed waitstaff causing delays. My food arrived burnt and inedible, and although replaced at no charge, the delay ruined the meal’s timing. The rest of the food was mediocre, failing to meet expectations for such a high-profile restaurant. Other diners around us had also expressed dissatisfaction. I was contacted for a review by OpenTable, on doing so, I was asked to contact a staff member for further discussion, but after multiple follow-ups, I received no response, suggesting insincerity in their public assurances. Overall, what was meant to be a joyful evening turned into a frustrating and unsatisfactory experience. This restaurant could truly learn from the Orange Tree Bar & Grill Restaurants in Staffordshire & Cheshire. Now that’s a restaurant where excellent service and quality food are the norm!

We finished theatre across the street and needed a bite. The restaurant is beautiful! It ends there. Staff are disinterested, service was slow. Maybe its the location and full of theatre goers not interested in eating good food. Dunno. Food was ok. I’d only go back if i had nowhere else to go

This restaurant out to be featured in Gordon Ramsey's Hell's kitchen. The services is terrible, we waited 45 minutes before getting our drinks and services was constantly poor throughout the night. Food is average at best.

Mr. GIOVANNI a 10 in attention, a professional, attentive, detail-oriented, polite. In short, we loved the restaurant. He called us in Spain, spoke with my husband, suggested a reservation for the end of the year, very good attention.

After visiting the wonderful Monet exhibition we crossed the road to Gino’s London restaurant. It’s not a trattoria price wise but you can order pizza at a reasonable price. We had excellent pasta shared a nice starter and many thanks to our our waiter Renato who helped an enjoyable luncheon visit

We had diner for a very special event for us at Luciano. However, it was a total disappoinment. The service quality was quite low for such a restaurant. Food served before wine.. And the taste was nothing special. Two of us ordered the same pasta and the food served in different sizes. Carbonara was far away from the original recipe. And the prices were very high in return to what you get.

Hi Very disappointed tonight We have been multiple times when in London Tonight maybe it was the day after Christmas and the freshness and staff wasn’t the same We had to return the carbonara as there was no sauce to it and just dry The other dishes were ok but not the usual quality We explained the carbonara issue to the waiter and he took the feedback to the chef Disappointing Chris

I visited Luciano’s for Christmas lunch and had a pleasant experience. Our server Kate was extremely attentive and made our experience once we sat down very enjoyable. Negatives were: Had a 3pm booking, didn’t get sat until 3:40pm. Food was good but for the set menu cost, I was expecting amazing.

Dont go if you are expecting good service. This restaurant ruined my birthday! It’s noisy, the staff is rude (I am not sure if it is because of I am asian, cause I saw the staff keep chatting with other customers and they seems good, but another table who are chinese are facing similar issues with us.) There is no service in the restaurant. I wait for half an hour for taking order, one of them came and said she will comeback in a second then I had never seen her again. After the main, a manager took away my dishes and me and my boyfriend are expecting the dessert menu. We wait for them for half an hour, no one provided it to us. The more important thing is, during the whole dinner, the waiter were keep kicking my chair! They just pass away and didn't say anything to me! Even not a sorry! Thats just take a second! If you guys don't want any bad experience with your date/birthday/any celebration don't go! Thats really bad!

Great food. Outstanding carpaccio - on a par with or even better than Harry's Bar in Venice. Spaghetti with creamy black truffle sauce melts in your mouth - one of the best pastas ever. Wild mushroom risotto is outstanding. Service before the theater can get a little forgetful but only a minor comment. Just be sure to remind your waiter as the time limit approaches.

Buzzy vibrant environment with good food and attentive staff

Me my wife and my mum had lunch at Lucianos recently for my mums birthday celebration. My mum turned up slightly later than us and was told there was not booking in our name even though we were sitting at the table how does someone forget that after 10 minutes, which shows no attention to detail. The service was average, every member of staff looked unhappy and don't remember anyone smiling, you have to ask for everything rarely did our waiter come to us. The waiter never told us the specials also never told us what dishes were not on and the one I chose was not on so had to quickly choose another. The food was OK mine was a bit cold probably because it was sitting on the pass for so long, 45 minute wait for our food. It is expensive for what it is, 3 bowls pasta, 1 garlic bread, 1 zucchini fritters, 1 vanilla ice cream, 3 coffees and a bottle of chianti which again was just an ok wine, was £177 inc a £21 service charge for really average service and food. I am not adverse to paying the money but would have expected better. The decor and ambience was nice but the rest of the meal and service just average. I would not go back.

We travelled across London to visit this restaurant on the recommendation of a friend, but unfortunately, our experience was thoroughly disappointing for several reasons. Firstly, the staff appeared completely disorganised. Our waiter looked dishevelled, as though he’d turned up after a heavy night out—bloodshot eyes and an inability to focus on what we were saying. Every time we ordered something from the menu, he seemed confused, asked us to point to it, and then lost interest, gazing around the room instead of paying attention to us. We ordered cocktails and water, but once we’d finished them, no one came to offer refills or check on us. One drink was all we got. We asked for our garlic bread and mozzarella starter to arrive with the mains, but it didn’t. When the bread came early, it was just plain warm bread—no trace of garlic. We called over a waitress to explain that it didn’t taste of garlic and we asked for it with our mains, and she simply removed the dish, saying she’d let the kitchen know. There was no further communication until ten minutes later, when another garlic bread arrived—again as a starter again. This time it had a slight garlic flavour but still no mozzarella. By this point, we’d given up, we felt like we were speaking a different language. To make matters worse, the staff waited until we’d finished the bread to bring our mains, and they removed the leftover bread from the table without leaving it for us to finish. The mains themselves were decent, but by then, the overall experience had soured the experience. We still hadn’t been offered more drinks or checked on during the meal. Finally, it took us ten minutes to flag someone down to pay, only to find a £17 service charge had been added to our bill. We paid but received no “thank you” or inquiry about how our meal was—just a complete lack of basic courtesy or personality. Overall, we left feeling thoroughly unimpressed.

My Favourite Italian in London! I celebrated my birthday here yesterday and the staff & service was fantastic. Food was delicious and so were the cocktails! The staff looked after my party of 15 ladies and we absolutely loved it!!! Thank you for Roland and the Team x

I went here expecting a run of the mill brand. It was amazing. The food was excellent and well sized portions. The restaurant is beautiful and the staff immaculate and attentive. It's expensive but very very good.

Food was delicious and the server really nice. Didn’t add 5 stars cause the lady at the welcome desk shouted at us because we were apparently 20 minutes left, but she had the wrong time for our reservation that was 21:15 and not 21:00. Apart this, evening was great

The ambiance was lovely, and the staff were incredibly polite and attentive. However, I must highlight the issue with cleanliness - the water glasses were dirty inside, and I found a piece of metal in my pasta, which was quite surprising. Despite these setbacks, the food itself was quite tasty. Considering everything, I would rate my experience a 3 out of 5.

Unacceptably overpriced. The reception staff was rude, immediately reminding us of the 90-minute table limit before even greeting us. The food was subpar and completely failed to honor the special occasion. An absolute waste of money—this experience has put me off dining out for a while.

Fantastic experience for a birthday celebration. Lovely staff were attentive, friendly and efficient throughout. Steaks were perfect and cocktails well made. Well run operation - not a foot wrong on a busy friday night in December. Excellent!

Yesterday we were at the restaurant; the appetizers were fine except the fried calamari that was very oily. The main dishes were very bad: the lasagna was swimming in a pool of tomato sauce, the burrata pizza had a lot of tomato sauce and a bit of cheese, the seafood pasta had also a lot of tomato sauce. We couldn’t finish our plates. The dessert wasn’t bad, but in fancy restaurants you don’t serve desserts decorated by cheap chocolate you buy from a supermarket. We passed on the comments to the very nice waiter who served our table, however there was no reaction from the manager until after we paid and brought up the topic with him. He apologized and said that he had been informed by the waiter that we weren’t satisfied with our experience. He offered things, but I think he should’ve taken action prior to payment.

Had a fabulous lunch with my extended family. We were looked after so well by Roland and the team and made to feel incredibly special. Food and service both incredible. Thank you all. A must visit.

Gino did not let us down in this amazing Italian restaurant! The arancini were a great start, so rich with the saffron risotto and ragù sauce. The bruschetta con gamberoni was also a treat, totally worth it! The ravioli with zucca and ricotta were top notch. The carbonara was also good. Amazing rosemary potatoes. Delicious overall, great place!

Came here last year and the food was excellent. We came again in November and I’m afraid to say the food was very lack lustre compared to the last time . We will however be back to hopefully see an improvement . As a business owner myself I understand that these things can happen , however consistency is so important . I will reply below for you to save you time . Don’t bother answering with your generic apology it’s not very personal .

The food is great but the service terrible. We got our table 20 minutes late despite having a reservation. The staff are extremely unresponsive. After we were seated, we had to get up twice and ask them to take our order / get the bill.

Our evening got off to an unpleasant start. I visited with my family, who are in town, and we arrived a little early for our reservation. Unfortunately, the receptionist greeted us without a smile or a “welcome,” which immediately set a negative tone. When we asked if we could be seated, she glanced around and said, “Your table is not ready, can you wait at the bar?” That was fine with us, so we agreed and waited. While at the bar, we noticed a table being prepared and assumed it might be ours. We also saw several empty tables that were fully set but remained unoccupied. After 15 minutes, we saw a group of people who arrived after us being seated at the table that had just been prepared in the back of the room. After waiting for 20 minutes, I went back to the reception desk to check on our table. The receptionist, who was on her phone, seemed surprised and flustered, as if she had forgotten about us. Without offering any apology, she simply said, "We'll take you to your table now." To our disappointment, we were seated at a table right by the door—a table that had been empty the entire time we were waiting. It hadn’t even been set during our wait, which made us wonder why we were assigned this table, especially since we had arrived before others. Throughout the evening, the constant draft from the door opening and closing made our dining experience quite uncomfortable. While the food was decent, our excitement for the evening had already been diminished by the poor start and lack of hospitality. Overall, the receptionist’s attitude and lack of professionalism were disappointing and set a negative tone for the evening. A bit of warmth and attentiveness from the staff could make a big difference in creating a welcoming experience for guests.

Nice food but a little expensive for what it was.

I had high hopes for this place as the menu sounded great but it was such a disappointment. The garlic bread with tomatoes and basil tasted like they had poured it out straight out of the tin. The bread was so burnt at the bottom that even the waiter said it shouldn’t be like that but then didn’t do anything to rectify it. The waiter said pecorino romano cheese is made with cow’s milk until I asked him to check so I almost missed out on the bucatini carbonara. It was decent but I’d avoid the lasagne as it was had the same unseasoned tomatoes as the garlic bread. The ambience is nice but the food felt like Zizzi’s - just a lot more expensive.

The food was amazing, seriously so good and very generous portions. And thank you so much to Salma and Argens the service was great and i loved the recommendations it was lovely, definitely coming back soon 🤩

Food was really good, especially the pasta spaghetti special! Love the Aperol spritz and starters too. They sang happy birthday and brought a delicious tiramisu out. Good vibe and staff and pretty setting

This hotel has 3 restaurants and I went to their Italian one, Luciana, for a late lunch. It's practically across the street from the Courtauld Gallery so convenient for a nice, fine dining meal. The restaurant is bright and spacious, larger windows and a vibrant floral wall design (not chintz but tropical and jazzy). Comfortable chairs and tables spaced nicely apart from each other. There were many appealing menu options but since I didn't have a lot of time before my timed exhibition ticket at the Courtauld, the waiter recommended fettucine bolognese as the fastest entree which was fine.

Food was amazing and staff were lovely but the service was not the best - had to go up and ask after 45 mins if we could order our food as we had a show booked, we felt we then had to rush our food. This was such a shame as it was my first time at this Restaurant (and visiting from Cardiff) and was really looking forward to it with my friends and as I recommended we all go I felt awful.

It is one of the restaurants that caught my attention a lot. The waiters who work in this restaurant are very well prepared, just look up from the menu and someone will ask you if you are ready to order. Instead, what I didn't like was that while I was enjoying a very well prepared risotto, I soiled the table where I asked a manager to help me, but instead he brought some napkins that I simply covered what I had messed up.

Beautiful restaurant with a lovely atmosphere and ambience, and the best tiramisu ever! 😊 The Manager, at our visit on the 16/11/24 at 7pm, was exceptional, and very kindly sorted out a discrepancy. Looking forward to our next visit 😊

Nice restaurant, amazing atmosphere, professional staff, appetizers were amazing but the sea food pasta could be better as there were very little sea food in it.

The atmosphere and decor is so tranquil. The food was amazingly delicious and very good portions. The staff are so friendly and made you feel very welcome. Best Italian I’ve visited in Covent Garden.

What amazing treat from my 2 daughters on October 5th first Mama mia .. Then big surprise your restaurant .. The food was amazing .. the waiter charming .. atmosphere was great I had the time of my life .. at 77 years old .. Thank you Gino and waiters !

Not usually a fan of celebrity chef owned restaurants but this certainly lives up to the reputation of it's creator with authentic Italian food, comfortable lively interior and super friendly efficient service, reasonably priced for location and quality of food and service, will definately be dining here again

Booked a table for 4pm. Arrived in time but stood in waiting areas for several minutes and totally ignored by several members of staff. Will not visit again.

Came here with good quality Italian expectations however was very wrong, service was very good and drinks were well made and worth the price, however the food was awful, we was a group of 15, and not 1 person enjoyed it fully, seafood pasta is very bland, pizza was dripping with oil, and the braised beef was like chugging salt down my throat, was so bad that someone felt very ill and had too go too the toilet too be sick, chefs haven’t got a clue, can’t even present a decent pizza, all just a reality Tv joke, even the chef tasted it and agreed the saltiness was incredible, don’t go of your wanting good food 👎🏼

Pretty average. Good location for the theatres. We were seated next to another couple of a table for four despite six properly separated tables for two appearing available throughout our cover. Service was mediocre (both in terms of meal service and the fact someone dropped a plate next to us and nobody came to clean up the shards of porcelain). Food is fine I suppose, just very bland - you'd accept it from one of the chains on the strand, but at £33 for a seafood main (without sides) I want to taste something - even something to dislike would've been better. Feels like it's aimed at tourists and maybe instagrammable first dates - if that's your bag, for these prices just go the The Delaunay across the way.

The absolute worst experience we had during our time in London Unfortunately, our recent dining experience at Luciano's was underwhelming. The service was consistently inattentive, requiring us to refill our own wine glasses & water despite the waiter's presence. As we looked around we noticed several tables who also had been left unattended . Several even had to get the host to get their check. Additionally, two items we were looking forward to trying were unavailable. Hi Paula Thank you for the quick response to our review. Unfortunately there will not be a next time as this was our dinner to close our anniversary trip to London . We leave tomorrow morning and Unfortunately your restaurant left much to be desired and not at all the service that we expected based on recommendations from our hotel staff and Google reviews. We ate at very good restaurants while we visited ( several 2 and 1 Michelin star such as Dinner by Heston Blumental and Da Terra) restaurants as well as small local hidden gems but yours was an extreme disappointment. Our experience was summed up by my review.

Excited to have a meal here everything looked really good. Was so disappointed in the meals we had, they looked ok but absolutely no flavour I had the clam linguine and it just tasted like plain pasta my friend had sea food linguine and it was a watery tomato based sauce which we couldn’t detect chilli or garlic. Expensive and bland was our overall view. We also had to wait an hour for our meal and wonder if this caused the thrown together meals, we complained and received money off but no impression this was taken seriously.

I wish I could give it more stars. The food was exceptional, the staff excellent and we were made to feel like family. We were given advice and recommendations on the menu and had a delightful time! Strongly recommended.

This was our 5th visit and on arrival we were seated next to table where Gino and Fred Sirieix were seated. So as you can imagine the restaurant was busy as people wanted a photo/chat etc. We waited 10/15 minutes before ordering water and wine and waited a further 5 minutes for the wine to arrive. When the food arrived it was lovely. The starters of Ribs and Prawn cocktail were great. The meat just fell off the ribs. Mains followed and again no complaints. Food was great but due to the restaurant being busy ( which is great ) the service was not as efficient as on previous visits, saying that the servers were all nice. We had to keep asking for our wine to topped up and due to time constraints we were unable to order and enjoy the lovely cocktails at the end of the meal. Next time….Thank you

The best part of service is Gianni, who was very hospitable. Food was great! The music is always on optimal levels and waiters are very polite.
