La Porchetta Pollo Bar in City of London, Westminster

A wonderful place that makes you want to return again and again, but the girls working there take away that desire. You have great food, drinks and awesome atmosphere, but the staff is very rude, especially the female part of it. I don't recommend this place solely because of that.

The food was good but the girl with orange hair was very rude and not friendly at all. I could go back with my family again if the service was better, but now it's very bad.

Place is OK overall, portion size is great. If you just want to stuff yourself go for it but if you want proper food it is better avoiding this place. While the pizza was overall OK, - (dough not a properly proofed dough but edible) - the carbonara is an absolute shame for a so called Italian restaurant, cheap ham, dried and with cream... No eggs to be seen nor even pepper...

One of my favourite places to eat in london! Took my date here and the guy making the pizza must have been able to tell because he pulled our order into the shape of a heart, it absolutely made our night! <3 The pizza itself was incredible, perfect ratio of cheese to sauce and crust cooked to perfection… if you’re on the fence about visiting this place please please try it!!!!!

My fave place to eat in the West End. Big bowls of steaming pasta and freshly baked pizza. Portions are huge and not too expensive. Usually very busy and tables are close together, so not necessarily the best choice for a quiet intimate dinner! Two floors (plus a couple of tables on the pavement in summer), street-level is much better, but there's lots of seating downstairs. Went again today, glad to report that it hasn't changed much. Has to be one of the top pasta joints in town, surely?

Popped in here after going to the theatre. Quite a small place, noisy with music and the staff singing but very friendly and the food was amazing and good value. We had two pizzas, a coke and a beer for about £33. Not the place to dress up for but perfect if you want something served quickly and don’t want to spend all day there. The pizzas were made in front of us and were superb. I loved it that one was called ‘ The Maradona’ too and that there was photos of him, it really added to that feeling that you could be in Naples. Would give it 5 stars but the missus said that it was too noisy for her.

Llegué temprano a las 5 pm - ish en un viernes por la noche para un bocado pre-teatro para comer y fácilmente consiguió una mesa para dos abajo. El lugar se llenó rápidamente y había colas afuera para cuando nos fuimos. La pizza es deliciosa, fresca y enorme (y barato! ) - compartimos uno entre dos, que acaba de dejar espacio para el postre. El personal era amable y atento. La única desventaja es que una mesa para dos no es lo suficientemente grande para los tamaños de los platos! Me alegro de que lugares como este sigan existiendo en el centro de Londres.

I recently had dinner here and really enjoyed it. It was quite busy, but we were lucky to get our seats quickly. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. However, the tables were a bit small, and there wasn’t much space between them. We ordered bruschetta as a starter, along with a Calabrese pizza and a Maradona pizza as our main dishes. The bruschetta was scrumptious and very filling. The Calabrese pizza was a bit too spicy for us, but the Maradona pizza was quite good. We had leftovers, and the staff kindly offered us takeaway boxes at no extra charge. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place!

5 stars all round for this restaurant. The staff are so warm and welcoming! Special shout out to Todo and Jacob, who both made our experience exceptional. The food is delicious, and the portion sizes are HUGE. You will not leave there hungry :) very authentic Italian vibes. Food is affordable. The atmosphere is busy but in a nice way, it is a popular establishment. The staff work very hard to make it a good experience for customers. I will be coming back for sure and bringing others.

En una reciente visita (24 de noviembre) a Londres con un amigo irlandés para experimentar las luces/decoraciones navideñas alrededor de la capital. Estaba lloviendo fuerte y estábamos mirando menús en las ventanas del restaurante, antes de darnos cuenta el gerente estaba sentado comiendo en la ventana y nos había convocado e instruido a su camarero para que nos encontrara una mesa. Dijeron que no tienen mesas arriba pero si bajamos y nos acercamos a la camarera de abajo ella nos sentaría abajo. No estoy seguro de por qué nos dejaron solos para valernos por nosotros mismos y pasar por el mismo rigor de conseguir un asiento, pero de todos modos bajamos la empinada escalera y nos paramos al final de las escaleras. Era bastante tranquilo y una camarera nos había visto, pero decidió que no quería tratar con nosotros, así que nos quedamos torpemente esperando un breve período antes de que me acerqué a ella y le pregunté si podíamos tener una mesa para dos. Ella echó los brazos a un lado y dijo siéntate donde quieras excepto esta mesa, esta mesa o esta mesa, ya que hay reservas, dijo. Esto significaba que solo había una pequeña mesa de 2 asientos en la parte inferior de las empinadas escaleras, así que literalmente todos caminando arriba y abajo de las escaleras estaban justo encima de ti y pasando por delante de ti mientras comías. Esta chica pasó por delante de nosotros un par de veces y nos ignoran por completo a pesar de que solo había un máximo de dos mesas de personas (4 en cada uno) y todos estaban establecidos y no se les sirve. Habíamos cerrado el menú y estábamos sonriendo y esperando pacientemente, pero con mucha, mucha hambre. Eventualmente logró llamar su atención y preguntarle amablemente si podíamos ordenar. Parecía molesta, pero tomó nuestra orden. La comida tardó mucho en llegar, incluso los lados que pedimos y las bebidas también. Mientras esperábamos vimos a esta jovencita vagando por el suelo charlando con el personal masculino (chef) a la vista de todos como si estuvieran en una cita. Él parecía muy enamorado de ella y subieron a las escaleras, justo en frente de nosotros y estaban a tientas y riéndose entre sí. Fue muy inapropiado. Un grupo de personas bajó las escaleras y estábamos nerviosos pensando que nos trasladarían a la horrible mesita al lado de las escaleras, pero entraron y luego se fueron no mucho después (posiblemente lo que deberíamos haber hecho cuando experimentamos la mala actitud de la camarera). Siguió coqueteando y charlando con el joven chef, como si estuvieran fuera de la vista de todo el mundo arriba, así que estaba bien seguir así abajo. La comida llegó y se estrelló contra la mesa, le dimos las gracias y se fue. La comida era muy buena, me encantó la porción grande y la deliciosa pizza y pasta. Cuando terminamos de nuevo tuvimos que esperar mucho tiempo para pedir la cuenta a pesar de ser una de las únicas mesas que todavía en el restaurante y haber terminado claramente hace mucho tiempo y mirando alrededor para el servicio. Ella se pavoneó eventualmente, sin amabilidades, sin preguntar si nos divertimos, simplemente me dio la cuenta que incluía un 10% de servicio (que definitivamente no se merecía) pero soy un buen tipo y sabía que la propina también fue para el chef, etc. A pesar de pagar la cuenta y darle una propina y YO decirle Gracias tom ella ella simplemente se dio la vuelta y lloró sin un Gracias o un adiós. Una actitud absolutamente terrible. Afortunadamente cuando subimos las escaleras todo el personal dijo gracias, adiós. Un gran grupo de empleados. Es una pena que tuviéramos una camarera tan terrible, ¿es un miembro de la familia? ¿No sé cómo podría mantener un trabajo de otra manera? Se fue sintiéndose un poco irrespetado. Somos gente profesional y pagamos buen dinero a este restaurante cuando podríamos haber ido a cientos de otros, no salimos a ser tratados como niños de una niña de la mitad de nuestra edad. ¡No moveremos la mesa a mitad de la comida por el amor de Dios! Tampoco tenemos que presenciar al personal besándose y manoseando cuerpos en la escalera mientras comemos. Recomendaría este lugar si se puede comer arriba, ya que la comida es genial, el ambiente se ve muy bien, pero no abajo. También el servicio del 10% está incluido en la factura y no es discrecional, que es tal vez por qué ella era tan viajero porque sabía que estaba recibiendo una propina, independientemente de lo poco profesional y grosero que era.

I had heard great things about this Italian restaurant and I can say that it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment we walked in, the service was exceptional; The waiters were very attentive and friendly throughout our meal, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The food was simply delicious. Every dish we ordered was full of flavor and the quality of the ingredients was evident. Furthermore, the quantities were abundant, which left us more than satisfied. And best of all, the prices are very reasonable! It's rare to find a place where the food is so good and yet so affordable. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic Italian experience. I can't wait to go back and try more of their menu!

Terrible service, rude and arrogant waiters towards customers (except Marzia). When we asked for the bill, they rudely and aggressively told us to calculate it ourselves and call them back to proceed with the payment. When we called to pay, another waitress (Luna) complained, saying she was finishing an urgent task before coming. We mentioned this to the manager in Italian, who then spoke to the owner in English (thinking we didn't understand) and even pushed my friend, telling us to leave. All of this just to eat a pizza? Remember to treat customers well and be less rude.

Excellent place to dine. The quality of the dishes is the best we have tried in London and the price is even better. To this we must add the great attention of the people who were working and the speed with which they served us the dishes. 100% recommended

Tuve una pizza muy buena y grande y refresco aquí por menos de £ 15 que dada la ubicación es muy razonable - en el borde del Soho justo al lado de Charing Cross Road - el restaurante estaba ocupado, que siempre es una buena señal. Visited for lunch. Managed to get a table for two. Loved the warm welcome and pizza chef right behind us in the open kitchen. The pizzas arrived without a long wait and were absolutely delicious! The size was generous and on another day, we would have accepted their offer of a pizza box to take away what we couldn't finish. They were kind enough to allow me to take some photos. Always an amazing pizza. One of the few places where I can have a pizza and feel light afterwards. Never disappoints and also open till late.

I came here around three months ago and it was delicious. The size of the pasta is insane! But it has wonderful taste and it is al dente, I recommend it 100%

Fantastic experience, not only was the food excellent (Italian is always a good idea!) but the service from Lucio and Luna was absolutely top. Thank you for teaching me how to pronounce 'oregano' Luna. God bless Italy and these staff members along with the chefs who served and fed us so well. All my dear friends! :)

We always love coming here when we travel to London. Italian food of 10 in the I continue. The place may seem small but it is not, fast service, friendly and attentive waiters and large portions. Both the pizza and the pasta are very good. I will return.

My husband took me to this place 20 years ago when I first came to London and I love it as much now as I did then apart from the fact that they don't do zabaglione any more. I had to learn how to do it myself now!!! The food is authentic the service unpretentious and friendly. Prices remain reasonable; I always bring people here when we're in the West end and fancy Italian. Highly recommend.

Llamé alrededor de la hora del almuerzo para preguntar si estaría bien volver en algún momento después de las 5 y estaban más que felices de mantener un lugar para mí. Pedí la lingüina con champiñones, crema y pasta de trufa negra, que era delicioso y una porción muy generosa! De postre, tomé Torta de la nonna, que era un limón encantador - y tarta. Great welcome and shown to table upstairs …the restaurant was very busy but didn’t feel rushed. The food came quickly and it was delicious. We didn’t have a starter , we had carbonara and Gnocci with Gorgonzola …..both were lovely and full of flavour. It’s a wonderful buzzing , atmosphere and fantastic value for money …had a great bottle of Soave with the food which was also very well priced

This place was a life saver as we had a dog, and they were very welcoming and seated us quickly even though they were extremely busy, The red wine was a little sharp, the white pinot was only OK, we ordered a bruschetta which sadly was terrible it was so hard I couldnt even bite into it but they took it off the bill so that was good, we had a ham and mushroom pizza which was ok, i think given they were so busy maybe the food is better when they are not so over run with customers overall an OK visit

They tables are squeezed together, I had literally no room to put my winter coat on. They prioritise making money over customer comfort. There was no seat on the toilet in the women's restroom. Wouldn't recommend. I recommend Franco Manca instead.

Skulle finde en sted tæt på Prince Edward Theater, og så tilfældigvis dette sted. Det var helt fantastisk - autentisk italiensk pizzeria, lækker mad og god betjening. Talte med en gæst ved nabobordet som var kommet der i 20 år !!

Éramos tres adultos, tres niños y un bebé dormido en un cochecito. El personal se inclinó hacia atrás para acomodarnos sin tener que colapsar el buggy y logró encajarnos. El servicio era amable, la comida era deliciosa y llegó rápido, y todo era muy buena relación calidad-precio - alrededor de £ 11 - 13 para la mayoría de pizza o platos de pasta. Generosas porciones y coberturas. Ambiente borroso - música abarrotada, bastante alta junto con conversación animada y una sensación optimista. El único inconveniente fue la falta de una silla alta cuando el niño de un año se despertó, pero nos las arreglamos. Esta fue nuestra segunda vez en La Porchetta y estamos contentos de haber encontrado un restaurante tan bueno y barato en el Soho. Volveremos de nuevo. Recomiendo el fusilli con calabacín, avacado y tocino, un delicioso toque de Gorgonzola en la salsa cremosa.

We've eaten here a few times over the years, the food is great and terrific value, the place is very unpretentious which is a bonus, it isn't a fine dining experience but it always has a busy and lively atmosphere and an authentic character.

While on our way to a restaurant elsewhere we came across this place which had people queued outside - waiting to be seated and it had a nice vibe to itself and the ambiance is very quirky. Managed by Italians, this place is very nice for pasta and their plate sizes have good portions. We ordered 5 different main dishes and 1 starters: 1) garlic bread - this was like a pizza but with no cheese and was not very tasty! 2) Insalata Di Pollo (Grilled Chicken Breast salad) - one of the most heaviest chicken salad i have had; the chicken was slightly grilled to its dry end but the plate size was humongous!! Loved it. 3) LINGUINE CREMA FUNGHI E TARTUFO - lovely pasta with cream , mushroom and truffle paste with extra cheese on top, grated at the table! Very authentic and delicious. 3) TAGLIATELLE SALMONE - salmon based pasta 4) mixed sea food Pasta which also was nice as well In addition, for drinks, 2 in our group had a small bottle of red wine and a negroni as well. The bill wasn’t bad and for 4 people was around £85/-

Brutal honest. Cheap food, big portions and low average quality. If you enjoy a place where reggaeton is blasting while the waiters are screaming and arguing in Italian you should definitely give it a try.
