Lubens in High Peak

Lubens is always a lovely experience! We booked a table early in the evening prior to visiting the Opera House which is only about five minutes walk away. We've eaten there previously so were confident the food would be excellent! We weren't disappointed it was as good as ever. We both had a starter then had a vegi sharing platter which was very well presented and tasty. I finished off the meal with a lovely desert. We had a couple of beers and a bottle of wine and the whole thing was under £80 which, for the quality of the meal, we thought was very good value for money. The restaurant has a lovely look and feel and draws you in.

Absolutely gorgeous location with fantastic food and service, we would highly recommend! We were in Bakewell for a visit and saw this restaurant was voted number 1 on tripadvisor well we certainly agree, it deserves every vote.

Staff very friendly and attentive. Food was okay, nothing out of the ordinary well at least on our visit. Too much sauces.balsamic and the pickled cabbage. All I could taste was sauce. Always best sauce served on the side. The rest of the family said it was just okay. Chips were lovely.

We were staying at Ensana Buxton Crescent and were intending to eat in the Ensana Bar as we had our dog with us. The Ensana bar was characterless, dull and had an uninterested waiter. So, a quick search in Trio Adviser threw up Lubens just 3 mins walk away. It was great. Very lively atmosphere, almost too loud at times. Very welcoming with the Labrador who got a bowl of water. Menu a bit restricted if you’re gluten free hence 4 rather than 5 stars. Waitress was exceptionally good and deserved her tip. Good veggie choices. Specials board a bit dull. Overall much much better than eating at Ensana.

Gorgeous little restaurant and bar in Buxton that serves great food including vegan and vegetarian options. The staff are so friendly and accommodating, a lovely man served me which made my visit all the better (pretty sure his name was Josh). The place is picturesque with nice furniture and decorations, making the atmosphere really inviting. All the food looked delicious and the portion sizes are great. I travelled from Brighton and stayed in Buxton for a couple days and it was the nicest place I visited on my little holiday, spent with the best company. I can't wait to come back, thank you to the staff I met for being welcoming and kind.

Didn’t book but turned up at 5 to have a meal. Although the menu is not extensive, I can confirm that the meal was very good and tasty. The trip advisor reviews are well deserving and the ambience nice with chilled vibe. Defo worth a visit.

We had walked past this place over several evenings and seen it packed so decided to try it for lunch and were not disappointed. Chose a sharing platter, and it was beautifully presented, so much choice, all so fresh and it almost beat us! Great value as well. Coffee served with an amaretto biscuit; lovely attentive service but not intrusive. Overall a superb place to visit.

A great find in Buxton, the place had a cool relaxed vibe with a good uncomplicated menu , I recommend the Delhi sharer washed down with a good pint .. excellent value money ..

We were staying in Buxton for a short break, literally round the corner from this place. We were drawn in by the atmosphere and the local vibe. We weren't disappointed. We came two nights in a row. Visited NYE for a date night. The atmosphere was lovely and warming. The team were brilliant and very welcoming.
