Very good quality food, we ordered traditional polish starter- beef steak tartare- one of the best I have ever eaten, for main leg of duck, traditional pork escalope and beef goulash. All was presented very nicely and was tasty. Service was professional. Definitely good place to go for traditional Polish cuisine.

Overall, it's a plus, but nothing great. Very nice service. The cook seems to like salt very much :) The thirst after dinner was incredible.

The waiter who had a shift at this place today (20/04/24) was the most unsympathetic person I have ever met in this industry. No imagination, perfunctory answers. The food was tasty, but in terms of customer service, unfortunately I have nothing good to say.

The best potato pancakes I have ever eaten. Pancakes with lots of delicious meat. I recommend it, great Polish food in London, a real Polish restaurant.

Saturday night the 10Feb 2024. It was always nice there.Now you have an unprofessional security guy from Africa. Change the guy as he is to rude to face customers.If he doesn't like someone he shouts. Securities are not allowed to shout at clients especially when there is simple polite talk. He decided to shout randomly and wouldn't bother to call the manager. He doesn't care about this job and is supposed to be fired. You have well manners clients in the restaurant and shouting somehow no reason is disgrace to this country. You had such a nice security. He is turning down your business. Who wants come and see this mental security. Shout is a for of abuse. Don't go to this place until they change the mental security guy.

Hidden away on the first floor of the Polish Social and Cultural association, this is a great Polish restaurant with some great dishes. Overall, it was as close as you can get to real Polish flavours outside of Poland.

We organized a wedding here, super nice staff, very helpful. The food was very tasty and huge portions. Super delicious fruit cake. Chef Michał is a treasure. My wife and I are very pleased and we highly recommend it 😊👍👍💍🥂🥂💒

Very lovely restaurant with great polish food and life music on Saturday. We went with friends and we had really good time.

Service was excellent. The barrister was friendly and efficient. There were plenty of choices for coffee and tea and orange juice are either freshly squeezed or from a carton. Your choice. Coffee came in 3 sizes. I asked for cappuccino with semi-skimmed milk but felt that the milk wasn’t fresh. It tasted more like UHT. The orange juice was lovely though. Both came to about £6.50. Plenty of seatings at 10:30 am on a Saturday.

Kochani jeśli jednak planujecie imprezę w Łowiczance proście manager Magdę o pisemna umowę bo was wykiwa! Ja prosiłam ale nie dostałam bo wszystko było niby jasne. To cwana babka, przed rezerwacja i wpłaceniem depozytu jest miła ale i opowiada, płacze i narzeka jak ona nie raz została potraktowana źle i jacy to klienci są okrutni dla niej oj, oj wyzywają, nie płacą i tak dalej a na koniec imprezy okazuje się kto kogo oszukuje. Pani manager sama proponuje że owszem da „dyskanciki” i tak dalej, ale na rachunku tego nie widać i miejsce obiecuje to, które rezerwowane było miesiąc wcześniej, że będzie tak jak obiecała a 3 dni przed imprezą dzwoni że niestety nasz stolik będzie gdzie indziej a jak nie pasuje to szukaj sobie czegoś innego, bardzo kompetentna osoba na miejscu managera, gratulacje! Czekaliśmy 'to be seated' ale nikt nie podszedł więc zrobiliśmy to sami. Następnie bardzo długo musieliśmy czekać na nasze zamówienie. Porcje były bardzo skromne w stosunku do ceny jaką musieliśmy zapłacić. Niestety nie zmierzamy wracać ponownie do tego miejsca.

Wraz z mężem byłam tam dzisiaj i nie polecam tego miejsca. Obsługa nie miła, wszystko robią z łaska, nie można spokojnie zjeść, bo już chcą zabrać talerzyk. Dramat. Jedzenie też daje dużo do zyczenia. Małe porcje, ziemniaki zimne. Porażka!

Rezerwacja wieczorowa ale my byłyśmy w porze obiadowej . Był tam kiedyś kelner , operatywny chłopak ale rzucił prace ! Potrafił zachęcić klienta do pozostania , polecić danie … staff , który tam pracuje to jakaś porażka ! Pani manager tez zimna i obojętna . Raczej nie wybiore sie w przyszłości i nie polecam . Jest tyle świetnych miejsc naokoło gdzie czujesz sie komfortowo i ważna! Dopóki obsługa sie nie zmieni , razem z kierownictwem restauracji to i atmosfera pozostanie taka sama . Tyle

Pyszne jedzenie! Pani Manager jest bardzo pomocna i nie stwarzała żadnych problemów przy rezerwacji sali. Spokojnie odpowiadała na wszystkie pytania, poświęciła mi sporo czasu na objaśnienia. Zdecydowanie polecam zarówno na imprezy (Komunię, wesele) jak i na niedzielny obiad w miłej atmosferze :)

Nie polecam dla osób które chciałyby zarezerwować lokal na imprezę. Pani manager to osoba która nie powinna być na tym stanowisku. Zarezerwowaliśmy lokal na komunię, mąż umówił się z Panią manager na konkretny dzień i godzinę na wpłatę zaliczki. Gdy mąż podjechał do lokalu Panie kelnerki uświadomiły iż nie wiedzą kiedy i czy wogole będzie Pani manager. Gdy mąż podjechał drugi raz usłyszał od Pani manager że sala jest już zajęta, ponieważ biedna Pani manager gdy informowała że sala jest wolna nie była akurat w pracy i nie wiedziała że sala jest już zajęta. Pomijam już fakt iż Pani manager na poinformowanie że sala jest zajęta miała tydzień! Tak się nie postępuje z klientami!!!

I am so disappointed that a very good restaurant which I have been going to for many years has had a change of management. It now has poor service, the ambience has been ruined with some bright overhead recessed downlights. The lovely soft-glow side lights on the walls are still there but for some reason were turned off. I attended a group meal for which the order was placed in advance and we paid for it before eating. I was surprised to also have to buy drinks at the bar and bring them back to the table. Apparently this was due to a lack of waiting staff. A number of us had to wait ages for our meals and when they arrived they were the wrong items because they waiting staff didn't really know who had ordered what. When my meal finally arrived after a mix up it was dried out and tasteless. Which was a shame as someone had put a lot of thought into the presentation on the plate. It was one of those evenings where you end up drunk before you have started eating. Half the restaurant was empty as in the floor was empty. I'm guessing the tables were moved to the alcove for our group. There was a curtain hanging in the middle to separate the empty floor area from diners. The music was good as it has always been on a saturday night but there was a general lack of ambience and a large area of unused space. The staff were struggling, I think there may have been only 3 people serving (two waiting staff and a manager). I have been told there were arguments heard from the kitchen. I really hope the management read this as constructive feedback and make some improvements. This used to be a fabulous restaurant with fantastic food and a great menu. I'm not sure whether it has been badly decorated or whether they are in the middle of redecorating. It's a great shame because it has so much potential. I hope that they find the help they need to manage it properly and bring it back it's original quality and feel good vibes.

We booked a table for tonight. Turned up and they were closed. I understand if they decide not to open if they only had 1 booking but they had my number so could have called or sent sms to let me know. This is the 2nd time this year they’ve done this!

Jedna gwiazdka za przystepne dania. Od poczatku jak weszlismy z zona spotkalismy sie z obojetnoscia kelnerow. Widac bylo ze stoimy przy znaku "Please wait to be seated" nawet po chwili podszedl pan w nasza strone tylko zeby wziasc dlugopis z biurka, w nasza strone zero. W skrocie, gdy juz usiedlismy dlugo czekalismy na Menu, przyjecie zamowienia oraz wydanie posilku. Jedyny plus to ze bylo smaczne. Naprawde jedyny plus. Dodam ze w lokalu byly zajete 4-5 stoliki.

No menu in English, no help provided by the staff, no care or welcoming environment. For third generation of polish people who can't speak the language is not a nice feeling.

A hidden gem -- it's tucked away upstairs in POSK but the food and service are fabulous. If I had to pick just one dish, don't be afraid of raw meat the steak tartare is out of this world.

Food may seem expensive, but it is very tasty. I ate few kind of dumplings (pierogi) there and they were delicious, though they costed 9,5 pounds. The staff was friendly and the order quickly realized.

The food was very good and the presentation outstanding! The only massive issue is that they had extremely loud music from 2 men band/Dj and while eating we had to shout to be heard; couldn't have a relax dinner conversation. Three of us asked the waiting service if they could lower the music just a tinny bit, but they paid no attention. So I'm giving them only 2 stars. It would have been nice if they let us know about the extremely loud music when we booked the table, but they didn't nor care when we asked them politely to lower the sound.👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾

I would like to raise complaint regarding my experience at the Lowiczanka. I had booked a buffet for 15 people (6 children) on 24.06.2022 for a meal after a memorial service for my uncle. The service that I had received was poor, in specific, this relates to an older lady that was on duty that evening. She was utterly rude and disrespectful. She had no sympathy towards my families situation. Towards the end she was having an argument with me and to calm the lady down, one of the people that attended my meal paid her £20 to clam down. Moreover, the food was poor quality and was not worth the money paid; there was no juice available, the quantity of food was low, the food was cold and it did not taste nice. I have spent a fortune for poor food and poor customer service. This was my first and last appearance at the restaurant. Tremendously disappointed.

Byla tam wiele razy, pierwszy raz okolo 18 lat temu. Zawsze byla tam dobra zabaw a ale niestety od jakiegos czasu zaczelo sie to zmienic. Good restaurant but not recommended on Saturday as it’s very loud. The music is very loud and you can’t have a conversation during the dinner. I also think they are low waiting stuff during busy nights all 3 ppl are working very hard and everywhere. The food it’s very tasty 😋

El lugar es bueno y el personal muy servicial. Lamentablemente, el día que fuimos en cerveza fresca no estaba disponible, así que probamos la cerveza Lech. La cerveza estaba muy buena. Probamos la papa pierogi y la carne, comparando eso con lo que teníamos en Cracovia, no me impresionó en absoluto. Demasiado pastoso, así que no lo recomendaría. Pero si te gustan los pasteles tipo tarta de queso, definitivamente vale la pena probarlos y a la mayoría de la gente le gustarán. Vaya de cualquier manera si no fuera por la comida, entonces la música todos los fines de semana a partir del viernes en el sótano.

Pretty much every member of the British-born Polish community in London (myself included) has eaten at this restaurant at least once. I've been coming intermittently for the last 25 years or so since I was a child. The food has always been pretty good (not necessarily great) but given POSK's status as a pillar of the Polish community, we always come back. After my most recent experience, I'm not so sure. Apologies for the lengthy review but I wanted to capture every detail. I booked a table for my girlfriend and I for what the restaurant had advertised as its 'Valentine's Ball' (Saturday 15 February 2020; 7.30pm). My girlfriend, who is Irish, had never been to POSK and has grown extremely fond of Polish food so I thought it'd be a nice occasion. Firstly, the deposit I paid was fairly ridiculous - £44 per head. This supposedly included a glass of bubbly on arrival, 3-course meal, live music from a band, and 'zabawa' (loosely translates as 'fun'). I decided to go ahead with it anyway in case it was busy. I asked what would be on the menu that evening - they said it had not been finalised and couldn't say. On the night itself, we were not impressed. The restaurant had insisted on putting together an overpriced 'Valentines-themed' set menu which did not include much traditional Polish cuisine (this had been the main draw for us) and some pretty substandard dishes. I ordered a very average seafood platter to start (prawns and salad, essentially) whilst my girlfriend ordered beetroot soup and was given a measly portion and the most ridiculously small piece of bread. The mains were a bit better (chicken and lamb dishes) but the dessert was very poor. I'm not even entirely sure what it was because it did not match the description on the menu (praline cakes). The service was pretty dreadful, even by the standards of communist-era Poland, which seems to have clung to POSK somewhat. Waiting staff were not rude/unfriendly per se but completely oblivious. The 'glass of bubbly' on arrival was extremely cheap prosecco and half-empty. I had to ask for tap water for the table 3 times over the course of 45 minutes before it actually arrived. Every time I tried to get a waitress' attention, it was in vain. It took what felt like an age for our table to be cleared in between each course. The cherry on the cake was the supposed 'band/live music'. This literally consisted of one bloke on a keyboard playing pre-recorded tunes. It was laughable. Most of the diners couldn't believe it. Given POSK's reputation for excellent jazz, would it have killed them to hire a real band for one night? At the end of the night when I wanted to settle the bill, the waitress explained that the £88 I'd paid in advance was a deposit against which they'd deduct the cost of the various things I'd ordered (two 3-course meals and a bottle of wine). The set menu had ridiculously inflated prices in an obvious attempt for the restaurant to cling onto as much of the deposit as possible (e.g. £8 for soup). The total bill came to £87. I of course wasn't going to ask for the £1 back but the waitress didn't even offer it - she simply closed the book and walked away. Overall, the evening was just a poor experience. There are so many other excellent Polish restaurants in London such as Ognisko and Mamuska (I highly recommend the Ginger Polish Restaurant on Cricklewood Lane - an absolute hidden gem with delicious food, generous portions and incredibly low prices) that I don't think I'll bother with Łowiczanka any time soon. A real shame.

Really nice affordable place, with tasty food and excellent customer service.

Friends and I decided to have an evening out at this very special Polish Restaurant, they have a very good menu, every dish on the menu is excellent. The service is friendly and efficient They have a dance band and although the dance floor is moderate a good time is had by all. I have been frequenting this place for many years and find that now there are many couple of all ages. It has been refurbished recently and looks friendly. We had Goulash with Potato Pancakes, Duck leg and Polish Schnitzel which is gigantic, nothing was left on the plates it was so good, alas only one of us managed a sweet Apple crumble with ice cream. I can only highly recommend this place and have already booked for my next visit. I believe the band plays only on Saturday but one can have a good meal from Tuesday to Sunday. For some of the days I would think booking is essential.

I checked the opening times and took my visitors to try Polish cuisine. Unfortunately there was a closed event so they didn't let us in at all... They could update their website with such news plus they told us we always need a booking on Sundays, their website didn't state such information too. Eventually we went to the small Maya bar where the borscht tasted like instant soup and the dumplings are not cooked from fresh but frozen. You even pay more for each slice of cake you eat.

Decent Polish food. However, got "kluski" with no sauce and they definitely need it. I ordered some extra and got a forest mushroom sauce which, by the way was delicious! Wouldn't hurt to improve interiors as it looks a bit generic hence, lacking good ambience. Nevertheless,definitely gonna come back sometime!

I was organising party of 40 from the work place and it was a great success. We had a buffet with mixed cold and hot food. All food was popular specially salmon in dill sauce and potato salad. Very good and friendly service from enquiries and planning menu to the parting drinks; over four hours of very good time.

Oh My God!!! The Food is so so Delicious. We were only 2 people but couldn't decide which one to go for. Ended up with 4 main courses, 2 starters and 4 desserts. And guess what!?!?!??! We have finished them all, even ordered some more to take with us!!! Strongly recommend!!! One of the best Homemade Food in London!!!!

Lack of menue options, wasn't pleased with staff service. Food was not tasty, far from traditional polish I've tasted before. Old out dated interior. Over priced what the food was. There was a comedy club running in right next to the restaurant (only separated from thin curtain) people were swearing there and very loud so you can't actually enjoy a meal. My love for polish food has diminished very badly after visit to this restaurant. I certainly won't be going back there....... NO No no....

I booked this restaurant for my wife's birthday dinner, as we were attending the POSK Jazz club later in the same building. Having read one or two less-than-positive reviews, I did so with some apprehension. However, the experience was a delight and I was really pleased we'd gone here. The service was excellent, and always with a smile, even when the restaurant was quite full. The food was beautifully cooked and presented, from start to finish. There was a great atmosphere, as the place filled up, and we left just before the live music started (it was a Saturday night). So 10/10.

Food is delicious and stuff really nice!

Ate here a couple of months ago with a large group of friends. I don't like writing bad reviews, but this was dreadful in every way. I am a veggie and it was said to be 'veggie friendly' but it wasn't at all. The only veggie starter was a thin and watery borsch soup, and the main course consisted only of half a dozen bland veggie dumplings, with nothing else: no sauce, cooked veg or salad. Yet the meat meals my friends had were served with vegetables and salad! I had to ask for something else, and they only returned with one portion of cooked veg. The other veggie eater returned their meal to the kitchen in disgust. My friends having the meat meals found it mediocre. Service was slow and uncoordinated. This place wouldn't last a month on the high street. Sadly, never again. I am sorry to have to post such a negative review.

One of the best Polish restaurant in London. Every dishes are very delicious. Also price is very good. The staff is very friendly. The restaurant is in the Polish cultural centre. The restaurant's decoration is nice.

Service was ok, but the food was nothing to shout about. The veg was not fresh, served with tinned new potatoes

The whole restaurant looks like from late 70. We ordered some main dishes ,After 25 minutes waiting waitress came and informed us that our main dish just run out . You can clearly notice that’s the same food was served next table😡 Really confusing . What’s a mess . Small portion not wort it at all for a price that we paid .Staff very unprofessional and totally lost . Chaos!!

I was invited to a Name/Birthday dinner/dance I had been to the place many times to celebrate mine and friends birthday parties as well as for carnival. I was surprised how much I still enjoyed it. It was a Saturday evening, although the band has shrunk, I still enjoyed them. The place was fully booked out, lucklily our host had booked. The menu is great, medium priced, I had been told the prices have gone high, I disagree. I had Pork Knuckle with potatoes and cabbage, one had stuffed chicken breasts, an other, duck and an other had a Schnitzel (Escalope) we had Borscht to start with they had two types one with duck and the other I believe with a dumpling. For afters one had an Apple Pancake two of us Poppyseed Strudel and the one I love but in the past it was only served in the cafeteria was an apple pie with a merangue topping with ice cream. None of us are great drinkers due to medication and we had a superb bottle of house wine for £15.50. The service was excellent, very smart looking men and girls, they looked after people with a smile and without being flustered, starched table cloth and serviettes .Fantastic, I cannot wait to return.

Estive neste restaurante somente para comer os famosos pierogis. Pedi um de cada sabor e estavam todos deliciosos.

Clients are unwelcome intrusions on the staff reading Pravda in Polish. Two waitresses- one on her first night so she is not sent to the gulag; but the Blonde Waitress could have stood in for Irma Grese at her most unwelcoming.- in an empty restaurant we- the only occupied table - were pointedly ignored, and Irma made herself busy doing nothing - we were an intrusion on this rude lump's life.. Asked whether we wanted the starters at the same time as the main course- has anyone here ever eaten a meal anywhere before ?. The food is basis and simple, The Blond is merely simple.

This place is the real deal. The patrons are Polish and the food is cooked perfectly.
