Loving Hut in Crawley

This is a fully vegan restaurant recommended by my vegan daughter, but I wondered if I would find anything I could enjoy as a gluten-intolerant, non-spice loving diner. What a happy surprise! I had plenty of choice from the menu and could specify the level of spiciness. The food was very tasty and came in generous portions. From outside it looks a small space, but there were several tables for us to eat at inside on a cold day. The staff are what makes the place so good. Welcoming, friendly, helpful and cooking the food fresh.

This place makes me wish I’d done a better job at school so I could fully articulate and convey the visit we had… The warm, friendly, relaxed vibe is so refreshing, the menu answers what you didn’t even realise you wanted to try, and the kind & wonderful people working there are why I’m even attempting to convince everyone of how absolutely essential it is that you go here! We used to visit Loving Hut Southgate approximately every 3-4 weeks. (Pre-Covid) Now we are relieved to find that both the Asian food and service is back to Pam's usual high standards! Naturally the prices have gone up a little but that is welcomed when compared to the possibility of this little gem disappearing! We are always happy to visit Loving Hut Southgate for their own cheery brand of great quality Asian food made from scratch and cooked fresh every daily. If only other local cafe's were so happy to provide handmade and cooked from scratch food on a daily basis. Regarding payment: Thankfully their payment system now allows an electronic tip option. (Previously not available)

They have me something that said it was chicken but it was fake chicken don't call something chicken if it isn't make with chicken

I have been here a handful of times with my partner but the quality of food has just deteriorated over the months. Never in my life have I experienced food in such an awful state of taste and presentation. The food being that disgraceful that I’ve gone out of my way to create and account and type this all up. The amount of 5 star reviews are very misleading as the food has gone down hill. I honestly struggle to deem it fair that the reviews are still up despite the quality going down. Ingenuity! I am lost for words to have actually come out of my way and drive to a supposedly high rated vegan place to be left hungry and of utmost disappointment as I have had an experience as bad as this. The noodles were soggy and presented as if a child had thrown them on a plate, dipped some veg in soy sauce and splatted them on top. Not to mention being hit with a cost of £7.90 despite the website stating £6.95. The cost is the least of my problems here, but the quality of food and experience were ridiculous. The ‘chicken’ wrap with Sriracha sauce was dastardly and left me feeling infuriated. The wrap itself was of a good size for the price (once again more expensive than the website states) and had a tasty tortilla bread. The wrap contained around 90% veg and no more than 5-6 small pieces of vegan chicken. The quality of food is devastating and I had the biggest lump in my throat when paying due to this. I walked out of the shop wanting to turn the place upside down at the fact they they have increased the prices also charge the price they do for the quality you receive. I know vegan food is generally more expensive portion to portion size, but this was sickening. All I can say is avoid this place now at all costs and do not consider wasting your time coming here as you will be left hungry, upset and disappointed with the areas in which this place lacks.

I just love Loving Hut because it is a very lovely place with very good food and amazing staff. I really feel loved and welcome every time I come here with my family. Very affordable too with mouth watering starters, decadent desserts and very healthy smoothies.

our favourite takeaway ever - our go to as a family always. cannot recommend this place enough and Pam is the best !! get the battered sausage, crispy chickn balls and the cripsy noodles, you wont regret it !!

Amazing! A place where the staff truly care about their food! The love and joy they put in their food is unreal. Easy menus to read, 100% fully vegan! I cannot believe how realistic the chicken and prawns were. Did not lack in flavour or spice. Additionally, the staff were extremely polite and catering. The food was not greasy for a Chinese either! Very clean all over and tidy. The price is very good. Dessert options are great, huge variety. Will be visiting more often! Thank you.

This place is fab! I have been here a few times now and every time is fantastic. My husband who is not vegan has also eaten here and he enjoys it too! Very friendly staff and very chilled atmosphere. The food is really tasty and well presented. Definitely recommend!

I'd seen branches of Loving Hut around but never visited one. I was catching an early morning flight and found myself in Crawley the previous evening, so I and my wife decided to try Loving Hut. It's a bit out of town as we discovered when walking there, but at least it meant we could burn off some of our meal on the way back to the hotel. The menu is all vegan and having been vegan for over 3 decades that is just what I like to see. It was quite busy when we arrived and we were surprised to see that most of the clients appeared to know the staff like old friends. The atmosphere was welcoming, chilled and there was a friendly vibe. One man had popped in for a coffee and ended up buying a meal and a takeaway...at least that's what he said, he may have been joking. Spoiled for choice I ended up ordering a German-style spicy sausage hotdog thing with chips while my wife had a kebab. She had juice and I had a matcha latte with almond milk, while for starters we shared a crispy tofu dish. The food was well presented and very tasty; I have never eaten a meat-based sausage or kebab in my life, so cannot compare the food here to them, but my wife said both were very realistic. She thought she'd made the wrong choice with a kebab when food for other customers was being served, but once she tried her meal she was pleasantly surprised and said it was delicious. I should have been more adventurous because there were some more unusual food choices than a hotdog - like Indian rendang, Malaysian curry, duck and rice, prawns etc. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the smoky spicy flavours of the hotdog and the pretzel roll that contained it was another plus. ` I wish we had a branch of Loving Hut nearer us.

This is my happy place . The food is always amazing & the atmosphere within is so peaceful & calm. The staff are always so friendly and honestly can’t fault this place.

Food is always excellent and tasty, you can ask to have it mild or hot spicy and adding vegan prawn/chicken/tofu/mutton. Customer service is very welcoming, always with a smile. The restaurant is located a bit off the centre about 10-minute walking distance.

Went again, this time with my family. We tried a variety of dishes (duck+rice, prawn wrap, noodles, sweet potato fries, butterscotch and coconut cake) and shared them between us. Simply delicious. Lovely atmosphere and staff. Almost a zero waste eating experience too. Cannot fault this place. Even my family members enjoyed the food and were impressed.

So much variety, calm, quick, clean and simple... And all vegan and so local! Narrowed choices down to the quinoa and kale burger with sweet potato fries, hut special chow mein with soya based chick'n and sweet chilli crispy plant based prawn wrap. Incredibly delicious. Cleaned the plates. I don't like eating out usually but I definitely liked this place and their team.

Was in Crawley to see a show at the theatre, stopped off at Loving Hut on the way home. Extremely friendly and helpful lady greeted us on arrival. I ordered the house special chow mien and spring rolls, while my girlfriend had a "cheese" burger and sweet potato fries. All of the food was excellent, my girlfriend is not vegan but said that she easily could be if all vegan food was this nice! Being a bit greedy we ordered three slices of cake to share (they all looked so good we couldn't decide!), and they were all delicious.The restaurant was clean and tidy, the toilets were really clean and disability friendly which was nice to see. There was plenty of vegan pamphlets etc and even a copy of the bhagavad gita to read. We chatted to the very friendly lady that served us afterwards, was a really lovely experience all round!

We went out of our way to visit this restaurant, it's not in a busy well known location but what a find it was. Delicious food, very friendly staff. I wish I lived closer, if I did I would make this my regular place to eat.

We had the dimsum for two, green smoothie, flat white with soya and raspberry and peach tea. All excellent.

Nice little Cafe/ Restaurant. Very clean. Good freshly cooked Vegan food with Thai dishes as well as Vegan Burgers.

Who thought Vegan food was bland and tasteless? Think again as you get blasted with their starters, curries and amazing desserts. The curry was so tasty I had to order another one as I had to share the first one! Certainly one of my favourite Vegan outlets!

I may be a bit biased being vegan but I absolutely adore this place. You could not ask for friendlier staff, better food or drinks.

We went here for the first time today and chose the vegan doner after seeing a FB post about them. We were certainly not disappointed! They were delicious. We have been longing for a good vegan place to eat in Crawley for ages and we have finally found one. We will both definitely be going back!

It looks like a chip shop or and other greesy spoon cafe, don't be fooled. The food choice is wide. I loved the choice of burgers, the fish and chips with mushy peas looked good. The curries were good to. The deserts were not too heavy so no need to share. Parking was easy around the corner in the shopping parade. Its in the middle of a council estate which seems so wrong but it is a destination diner. It should be on just eat as the folk in there were youngster. Has a very Buddhist vibe based of the cooks and the tv channel. This seems to be in the wrong location and could do well with a higher profile, so it's really a hidden gem.

I visit Lovin hut quite often. Always have an amazing service and lovely food. Would highly recommend.

I love everything about Loving Hut Crawley! The cafe offers generous portions of delicious homemade food, which is also excellent value for money. The homemade cakes are also wonderful. The staff are all lovely and I look forward to chatting with them. I have been to this Loving Hut so many times that my friend found me sitting in the restaurant on Google images. I always look forward to my next visit.

I was staying locally before flying off from Gatwick the next day. As vegetarians we had to check this place out. The restaurant is based in a small arcade of shops so we were not sure what to expect. We shouldn't have worried - the food was fantastic, staff lovely and prices very reasonable. I cannot fault the place.

Had dinner and lunch here, and was very happy with the food and service provided. Excellent, friendly staff who were very helpful. Great menu selection of Vegan food and will definitely make this a regular restaurant of mine. Very highly recommended!

We have been coming to Loving Hut Southgate since it opened. Our last visit was for my birthday and the food was delicious, as always! We started with clouds with sweet chilli dip, and the Dim-Sum Sharing Platter, yum! Then one of my daughters had a classic (vegan) chicken burger with tons of fries and we would also recommend the crispy noodles, with perfectly cooked stir fry veg and a generous portion of vegan chicken. Our other dishes were just as tasty!

Tried this restaurant for the first time with my friends and I had the vegan chicken stir fry and it was really good. It's reasonably priced and we all enjoyed it so will definitely be coming back! They even had alcohol free beer as well. Good choices on the menu.

My daughter and her partner are vegans whereas I am most certainly a carnivore. We went to the restaurant on a Saturday lunchtime.

Went with my daughter who is vegan (,i am not) and was very surprised by the menu.she had the Thai curry and i had fish and chips, fish was lovely so not what I was expecting and her curry was equally as nice,food was freshly prepared and piping hot,reasonably priced, would definitely go back

Amazing find in Crawley 🙂 couldn’t believe the vegan fish, it tasted so good. The team were attentive and genuinely interested, will definitely be coming back. Spread the word as not in central town location, well worth a visit.

Walked from Crawley to the Loving Hut for our first visit this lunchtime. We were overwhelmed by the choice and took ages to decide, but opted for the full breakfast with scrambled tofu and a mug of tea. It was perfect! Highly recommended.

I had lunch there today and my dishes were freshly cooked and delicious: Tom Yum rice noodles with dumplings and blueberry cheese cake. The main dish portion was very generous. The cake slice adequate. The "cheese" was made of tofu. Very good value for money for a total of £9.60.

Love this little cafe- come here all of the time- food is delicious and the staff are lovely. What a time to be vegan!

I had my first “fish” and chips in my 20 years as a vegan today and it was wonderful. Perfect batter and crunchy fries. My partner, had schezuan chicken and a really good coffee. We also took away two home made vegan croissants.

This place is amazing. Food cooked with love and staff were very welcoming and accommodating. Will be dining here weekly from now on as price is reasonable too 👌🏾

We came here for dinner on a Friday night about 8pm, it was nice and quiet, which was good as there's only about 7 tables. I had a really nice hot chocolate, we shared some tofu cubes, I had the tofish and chips and my husband had the 'chicken' black bean stir fry, all of which were wheat-free. The tofish was particularly nice, though the chips were a bit bog-standard which was a shame when the tofish was so good. There were 3 nice looking cakes on the counter, unfortunately none of which were gluten-free. There is also a couple of shelves of vegan goods in the restaurant, with things like sweets, wagon wheels, marshmallows and some homemade cookies to buy. The lady serving was really friendly and pleasant which really made a difference and we'd definitely come again.

I went to this modest little cafe restaurant today for lunch with a non vegan friend. I’d heard great things about the Loving Hut and have often thought about going to the one in Brighton but this one in Crawley was a good meeting point for me and my friend and has the advantage of having plenty of free parking nearby. Although a Tuesday - the place became very busy at lunchtime and no wonder. The food was delicious - freshly cooked and flavoursome. We had the Dim Sum platter to share - perfect as a shared starter, my friend had the mushroom and noodle soup and I had the vegan “chicken” in Malaysian satay sauce. This came to a modest £20! We later had lattes and cake - again, excellent - I had the chocolate and peanut butter cake and my friend had the strawberries and cream cake...mmmmm!! The staff are charming - I really can’t fault this place - my cynical non vegan friend had to admit the meat alternatives were completely convincing.....they do take away too! For those who think they could never be vegan, try this place - you won’t be disappointed!

Loving Hut is one of the few healthy options in Crawley at a very reasonable price. The staff is friendly. I am not a vegan. But the food goes beyond being vegan. It is quality eating and a great price.

Very lucky to find this place the night before we flew out from Gatwick. A short drive away from the hotel we received a warm greeting followed by fantastic food. It's so nice to look down a menu and be able to choose anything off of it!!!

The rest of the family have been raving about this place for a while now, so I decided to pay a visit myself to see what the fuss is all about. While I am not a vegan, or even a vegetarian, I am trying to reduce the amount of meat I eat, so a place that doesn't serve any at all seemed like a good idea.

I must confess the place doesn't look like much from the outside but this should teach me not to judge a restaurant by its looks. We were in the area on our way to Gatwick Airport and stopped for late lunch on a Saturday - even at around 3pm all tables were taken once we sat down, and it's quite small, so we will keep this in mind for our next visit.

Finally visited the Loving Hut in Southgate on Saturday - what a lovely little find !!

This was our first visit to The Loving Hut. I had the full breakfast with scrambled tofu and my partner had scrambled tofu rice and salad. Food was nicely cooked and tasty. We finished this off with a couple of matcha lattes...very nice. Would recommend a visit.

We ate here with my meat eating parents for lunch and all of us enjoyed the food. It is definitely more of a cafe than a restaurant in a housing estate type area and the food comes out at different times. The menu is mostly Chinese style dishes, the dumplings we had as a sharing starter were my favourite. I had szechuen chilli tofu for a main which was a very filling lunch, my partner had the crispy noodles but thought the dish could do with a bit more sauce. We also bought some cupcakes to take away that were fine, nothing special. The smoothies were really tasty. I would go again to try some of their other food. The staff are very friendly and chatty.

I am not vegan, but daughter is switching to vegetarian, and a friend of hers recommended we try The Loving Hut.

This is a must for all vegans, vegetarians and even meat eaters ! Very tasty food from a varied and interesting menu. The vegan "fish" and chips is a winner as is the Victoria sponge and the cheesecake (all vegan of course). The staff are lovely, gentle, friendly people who are passionate about serving tasty, wholesome and ethical food.

Love this place! Ordered from here for a pick up, food was ready for me in 15 mins. Absolutely fantastic food! Very tasty and different and it's vegan! Crawley has been dying for a vegan/vegetarian restaurant and it has arrived. Recommend to all who want to try something new

Whatever you like to eat you need to try this place! Extreamly lovely people who work here and so many choices to pick from food wise. I'm very impressed how REAL all the vegan meat tastes. A big thumbs up from me Ps. Order the vegan chicken in Malaysian Satay sauce.

This restaurant has an amazing choice of food and all vegan. Try their fish and chips or their soya lattes. Some great tastes enough to satisfy vegans and non-vegans alike. Just go there and try it.

This place is so close to us I'm surprised I hadn't come across it before. Really tasty food, staff very welcoming, tried my first crispy dumpling and it was DELICIOUS! definitely going to go back, if the rest of the food is as good as what my boyfriend and I had then I need to work my way through their entire menu! Highly recommended.

I have just visited the Loving Hut for the first time this evening. i am not a vegan, but that didn't make a difference as the food is truly delicious, and cooked freshly to order. The staff were very charming, I felt I had suddenly been transported to the Far East, everyone was full of big smiles and exuded that gentleness one finds when visiting the Far East. Not only did we eat a really tasty meal, but it was very cheap as well! really excellent value for money.

I live in Crawley & am a Vegan so it's a no brainer for me to visit - & I do, once a week.

Awesome food and lovely staff. Satay skewers and spring Rolls were delicious. Can't wait to go again!!

This vegan restaurant/cafe opened recently. Went with H to have lunch. It is on Southgate Parade. The decor is minimilist (all white inc tables and chairs). The menu is relatively short and all the dishes are vegan so there's no fish, eggs or any animal products involved. To be honest, I wasn't really looking forward to it as my previous experience of vegan food was bland and unexciting although some recipes from the Hari Krishna Cookbook were very good even though they eschew garlic and onions. Anyway, I chose fried chicken balls with a spicy dipping sauce. H went for tom yum soup, an old far eastern favourite. A jug of tap water was brought to the table....no alcohol is served.
