Costa Coffee in Crawley

Staff very friendly and knowledgeable about dietary requirements. Fantastic service. They can’t help the design but I wish there was an outside window. Also, more gluten free food options would be fantastic. Remember - anyone can eat gluten free stuff, but for those who have to avoid gluten, our choices are limited to just ‘safe’ foods.

Staff dictate the experience of a brand as they are the face. Having had a disagreement with the previous manager and being banned it’s now a lovely place to enjoy a latte as the staff are so much nicer. It’s a pleasure changing my review from 1 star to 5 stars…

The managers of this Costa are failing to train their staff. I was given a meat toastie when I had ordered a vegan one as I can’t have meat or dairy. The manager wasn’t at the store when I spoke to the staff. I was told it was a mistake from a new employee, but if they were trained right by the managers this wouldn’t have happened. This incident has me physically sick and in pain how dare you do this to me. Incompetent idiocy, the managers should be fired.

Placed a delivery order at this costa for a coffee, vegan toastie and vegan cake as I can't have meat or dairy. I received a real meat toastie and unfortunately didn't realise until I had eaten a lot of it. I went into the store to make sure I was correct and I was, the staff who were there were very apologetic but the manager was not there. I was told that the staff member who fulfilled the order was new and got confused about the toasties. This wouldn't have happened if the managers were competent in training their staff, and apologies aren't very comforting while I'm laying on the sofa feeling incredibly nauseous with stomach cramps, crying at being tricked into eating meat after ten years of not. After I returned home, I looked at the cake I had ordered and saw that, that too was wrong! It was a non vegan lemon cake instead of the Bosh gingerbread one. It's absolutely disgusting what you've done to me, the managers should be fired.

Considering it is located inside a Tesco store, it was one of the best Costa Coffee outlets I have visited. Staff and service were very good. Thank you.

THIS REVIEW IS MEANT FOR THE COSTA NEAR THE ENTRANCE TO THE COUNTY MALL IN CRAWLEY (NOT TESCO) As a customer of Costa in various Costa shops in crawley during the week atleast 3-4 times a week and spending around £20 each time, I'd regard myself as a regular customer in the know and should be viewed by Costa as valued right???, WRONG, This particular Costa shop has gone down hill in terms of staff level, Friendly service, staff ability and their overall customer service and ability to communicate in good English, on top of that the location attracts the usual undesirable types, beggars, chancers and rather chavvy types, but it was tolerable when the old manager was there and staff believed in good efficient friendly service, now the drinks are half measures but not half price, staff believe in service without a smile, toilets are disgusting and clearly nobody cleans them or checks apart from opening and closing, prices keep going up whilst value, quality and service go down Don't get me wrong I'm happy to pay for a good product with good service but this particular store doesn't have either, The manager there will know ive written this and I don't care because he should be embarissed, this store let's homeless people hang around begging from customers, they mess up the toilets and homeless people come in and ask for free water which they are given no issue, I as a working disabled person pay my full price and often have to ask 'can you fill my cup' short measures disgrace often, the staff think it's OK to do this and get moody when asked for actual value and what I've paid for, my drink often costs over £4 for a medium, I have issues with my hands to carry so I ask for a large cup with a medium drink in so I don't burn myself, it's a constant issue to get a large cup and a bit more hot water so I don't get burnt and get my full drink, Today I was refusedva large cup and a bit more hot water,???? So I burnt myself later on and didn't get my drink topped up for an extertioate cost, but it's OK Costa this store would rather give free drinks to pests, homeless and beggers instead of paying disabled customers that struggle and are refused a bit of kindness, but I'm sure the undesirable people that don't pay will keep the store open right??? WRONG, I was so annoyed with the awful service today and usually it's bad but today was worse Because the manager backed up the miserable girl serving me by saying ' ' no he can't give me a large cup and a bit more hot water apparently he's been told off for doing i', who told him off he's the bloody manager and I'm a regular customer not a work shy taker that has all day to beg, harass and bother working people, So the male manager backed up the miserable poorly trained girl server, I was refused by a morbid looking eastern European girl that has an awful attitude, no manners, rude, short and clearly deserves to be working for whatever they pay in her own country with her rubbish service, she doesn't deserve a job and really isn't cut out for customer facing work and the manager at this store, well he disgraced himself by backing her and will be dealt with when I put my formal complaint in as high as I can go because I felt very shocked, powerless, insulted by today's visit, other Costa stores always give me a larger cup and a bit more hot water, so I can only imagine it's not policy but actually personal against me because of this so I have to defend myself by putting in a formal complaint against this store and ALL it's shortcomings in ALL the areas.

Ordered a £3.80 hot chocolate and asked if there were any flavours. Was recommended the orange hot chocolate so agreed. Put my card on the reader to find if been charged £4.60! Asked for a refund but was refused as supervisor too difficult to find to organise it. So she put a dollop of cream on and gave me an extra 1cm long piece of Terry chocolate orange. Disgraceful.

Can't start shopping without my coffee and cake .Costa is my favourite place to go .Their salted caramel frappe with coffee and cream is a winner on a hot day.Or a caramel latte if its a bit chilly. The staff are all amazing and need to be bigged up for what they do

Very dark and dingy place at the back of first floor in Tesco store. No coffee available as machine was being tinkered with. Had a sandwich which was dry and tasteless. Staff were pleasant though. Won't be returning 🙁

Friendly staff and fantastic coffee!

A great place to relax and to study / work from if needed. I visit this Costa at least 3-4x weekly for several hours, to study and work from. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Its a clean , well kept place. They always have what I need and I'm being always served within minutes of standing in a que. All team is very pleasant but I like Kasia and Junaid the most.

A guy from Costa (didn't check his name, but it was a morning shift on St Patrick's day 2023) impressed me this morning by handing me my coffee before I even ordered it! This may be a little thing (to remember a frequent customer's choice), but it definitely had a good impact on my QoE.

Coffee too strong, dirty tables

The worst Costa Coffee store I know, and a shame because it used to be one of the best. Usually something broken and certain food or drink not available, slow service and poorly made coffee. I love Costa Coffee, but this one has become really bad over the past year. Won’t visit again sadly.

I use to work in Costa before and I have never experienced this awful service. I came to Costa for a toastie at 17:30 and they close at 18:00. This rude lady jumped out and said I couldn't have a toastie as they shut of the oven at 17:30 and told me I better have a take away cup as they are closing. I am a fully paying customer I want to spend my money at costa but it seems like the staff don't care and want to make money. I will not be returning to this costa again.

Nice location, relaxed coffee experience. Currently sitting here while reviewing. Coffee and food expensive, tables dirty left over from previous customers.... Okay I've worked as a waitress before and yes it can look like that. But no reason why the sofa/chairs would be covered in food. If your cleaning tables why can't you clean seating area.... Yuck! Come on #Costa you can do better!!

The worst iced flat white and chocolate frappe which I ever had in my life.

They close at 5pm, I arrived at 4:50 to try and buy a toastie.. the barista told me she can’t because the machine is closed.. why? If they close at 5pm so should the machine.. that just lacks commitment and not doing there job to service customers within opening hours .. Next time I suggest to close the machine when store closes, not before..

Lovely friendly staff, good range of foods to go with your drink. Clean seating areas and tables. Not too busy on a Monday afternoon either.

Love going to Costa Coffee, barristers are always friendly. Unfortunately my phone is set to Spain (my home country) so I am unable to gather the online rewards from the play store...

Dirty. There were hardly any customers there, and the empty tables had not been cleared or wiped down. I was given a dirty fork that looked like it hadn't been washed to eat my piece of cake with so I ate it using my hands. Dissapointed.

How is it possible to make a bad Hot Chocolate? Well, they managed to do it at this place. I may as well have thrown £2.90 outside the window.

Very poor service and whoever was in the coffee machine needs training ASAP. Paid for my coffee and couldn't drink it, tested like burn . Never again will visit this Costa.

The staff are always friendly and make you feel very welcome. Alma is a lovely lady she always greats you with a smile and remembers what I order. The place is always clean and tidy. It's my favourite costa.

Had nice food and drinks with my son

Flies everywhere around the coffee machine yesterday afternoon. The jugs with the milk bags were all lined up on the counter, all bags open, with flies sat near the opening! Very filthy. They didn't seem bothered at all by the fact there were flies quite visibly all over their coffee machines and cups etc. I would rather go without coffee than go back there again.

I like the fact that there is the Costa Cofee in store, and the fact that the prices (or many items including Coffees and toasted sandwiches) are actually priced cheaper that say the Costa Coffee in Next. e.g. Chicken and Bacon toastie is £3.50 in Tesco Costa, while it's £4.05 in Next Costa. However, I found that the staff while generally are well trained, recently come across as too busy and/or with the attitude of 'can't be bothered to give that little extra like a smile and a polite service', and now come across into the Starbucks staff mentality of get them served and get them out of here with the least amount of work and customer service possible. Its is a shame as I love Costa, but all their outlets in Crawley are slowly deteriorating in their happy/friendly service I have been used to in the past. Other than the above, the food and drinks are always good IMHO and you cant go wrong with the choices available. Just bare in mind that if you 'Costa' in a shop rather than a stand alone Costa outlet, then expect to pay a little more for your stuff. All in all I would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for the lack of friendly happy service me and my family have been given in the past.

The manager who does the closes is very polite and always helpful. Unlike the manager who opens in the morning, the evening one always has a smile on her face and is helpful when describing drinks and explaining offers etc.

Tried the Christmas hot chocolate... really good. Barista was cheerful, and good at making the drinks. Toilets here (Tesco responsibility, not Costa) were an absolute disgrace.

Great job from manager at this particular costa coffee place! She’s great and her staff is lovely! All the team is really welcoming and always remember what we want! Always a meeting point before a long day at work. Recommend for sure!

Average Costa coffee. There are better independent coffee shops.

I stopped by as I had to wait for two long hours to get the coach back home after a flight. I grabbed a sandwich and a vanilla latte (my favourite). The food was really good the drink as well. And the place is very comfty and perfect if you have to wait for hours. You have the free wifi that you can use and you can also charge your laptop or your phone. The staff was really welcoming and friendly as well.

Сега да кажа какво мисля за тази Коста...ами нищо общо с истинския кофи шоп даже неможе да се каже, че това е изобщо кофи шоп, поръчах си любимото, но нямаше нищо общо с очакванията ми. Даже и типично по български тоалетната беше заключена, и неможе всеки да я посети.

Looks well now it has been redone. Staff are always friendly and polite. Service is quick. The staff are a credit to Costa. I suggest a free holiday to a coffee plantation in the Bean Belt for each of them, or the roastery in Lambeth, or failing that at least some free coffee and cake!

Costa coffee I find that service is slow mostly. The coffee could be better. Since the American firm took over it's gone down hill, plus it's not Italian

Costa is my favourite coffee shop so I may be a bit biased in this review. You get the usual service, the usual good coffee & other drinks selection, the usual environment as any other Costa. Beware, however, this gets extremely busy around lunchtime so you may have to wait for a little bit in the queue.
