Superb takeaway. Large portions and delicious. When down on holiday will come back. Prices are reasonable and pleasant staff.

The lady really went out of her way to look up their ingredients to see what I could havevthat was gluten & wheat free. I missed Chinese so much but she did me sweet & sour chicken with rice Cantonese style. Best I've ever had and so grateful to her for taking the trouble will feel our regular go to take our place now. Thank you

Had a takeout from lovely on monday rare treat these days and quite a whole since using lovely anyway what can o say absolutely great meals for our family and compared to recent other take out meals not too wallet busting either food was hot even after a 7mile drive home and no complaints about any of the meal 10.10

We placed a large order here on Bank Holiday Monday. We have used this takeaway before and it has always been really good! Our latest takeaway was superb, all of the food was cooked perfectly and boiling hot when we returned home 10 minutes in the car. Our favourite dishes were the Deep Fried Chicken in Peppercorn Salt, Beef in Black Pepper Sauce and Special Chow Mein. The friendly lady who worked front of house was also extremely good at her job and provided us with excellent service. Looking forward to returning soon!

The Lovely Takeaway in Hawkhurst town is My best experience in Chinese culinary in the Great Britain. I live here for about 12 years and the Lovely has best taste I ever taste here in the UK 👍 I lived 12 years in USA and I always loved Chinese food and had nice experience in some Chinese restaurants and I was always looking for close taste but I had no luck. We have had take aways from here for several years and the food is excellent, cant fault it at all. However since Happy House has closed down its so much busier and takes so long to get your food. Three times now I have been given a time to pick my takeaway up and had to wait for around 30mins for it to be ready. Not great in these current times when you have to wait with 7 or 8 other customers in a small shop all within 1m of each other. Either more kitchen staff needed or better organising skills when taking orders.

Ordered over the phone. Went along to collect our order at the appointed time. Order was ready within 5 minutes. Alwas welcomed by staff. Great food.

Lovely is the right name.. A visit up from Wales to visit relatives..decided to have a Chinese... Now... omg! How delicious all the food was.... very hot a big potions ... my only little complaint is no poppadoms.. I know you may say it’s a Indian extra but home in Wales we have them in our Chinese too...

In 2018 this was the best Chinese out of the three in Hawkhurst (although the other two were not bad either) however we stopped going about a year ago when there was an apparent change of ownership and a sharp decline in quality. A couple of weeks ago we decided to give it another go and I'm pleased to say that it seems to be back to what we remember. There's a good selection of menu items, good value, and, dare I say, it's lovely again. Menu states they are specialists in Canton & Peking cuisine.

Massive portion sizes and really tasty. Would definitely go back and make this my regular take away.

Always had good takeaways from here. Recent visit - excellent sweet and sour ribs but other dishes the meat was quite dry. Seems a bit hit and miss as to quality and suspect some dishes reheated several times. Bit unprepossessing from the outside and really don't know how they turn out so much, so quickly. Generous portions and quick service. Will use again. Pity there isn't a decent Chinese restaurant to eat in locally now Tenterden restaurant closed. Business opportunity? Shame they don't do Chinese duck in smaller portions any more.

Top notch Chinese food, lots of options in Hawkhurst but this is the best. Well cooked and generous. Have tried most of the menu so order what you like and you’ll not be disappointed. Everything is very good.

Does the normal chinese food, but does some speciality items as well. Try the Singapore noodles. Can be a little hit and miss, sometimes really good, other times could be better. Does take away as well. Well worth a try.

Being vegan isn’t easy. Eating out is heck let alone cooking for a family of vegans & non vegans. Hence I was so happy to have my dietary and allergy requirements catered to so very professionally and artfully. Bean Curd? More like my vegan request has ‘Been Heard’ by the excellent staff at Lovely. I can’t wait to gobble up some more Lovely food from your Lovely ‘straunt. Vibes.

We have been using this takeaway for the last 25 years, which speaks for itself. Last summer we went on holiday in July, during that time the establishment had changed hands. We have persevered out of a sense of loyalty,but tonight is just the limit.We were given a collection time of 40 minutes. After a further 30 minute wait in the shop and a chaotic collection system ( or lack of it) we bought our cold meal home. Chilli beef with no chile sauce, soggy undercooked chicken, not a good meal for our £40. There are two other Chinese restaurants in Hawkhurst we will be visiting them in future. Such a shame.

Looking forward to a family birthday takeaway last night we had a horrendous meal from Lovely. Every main dish literally tasted like bleach or some kind disinfectant, we couldn't eat it and three most of it away. The chicken balls were the only passable bit. A total waste of £40, we will never ever being going back there again. Soooo disgusting and totally spoilt our evening.

Not sure if there is new management here (should have asked I know) but there are different people on the counter and the food this time was not up to the usual high standard. Still good, but not lovely. Credit card receipt shows as Dockday Limited rather than Lovely as before. I'll give it another go though.

Rang to order takeaway and was ready in 15 minutes. It was still really hot when got it home and we live about 4 miles away. It was very tasty and a very generous portion size. Will go back again .

This is by far the best takeaway in Hawkhurst. Never been disappointed with the quality of the food or the service.

Ordered a takeaway from here whilst on a trip in Hawkhurst, while the service was certainly speedy, the quality and flavour of the food was very disappointing. Bit confused by other reviews as this is not authentically Chinese in any way it is very 'British' style Chinese food and you can guess this from the menu, no foods like tofu offered but you can order a gravy chip! I think it's fine if you just want a basic British style Chinese but don't visit with high expectations.

Had a tasty. set meal for one,more. than enough for two. Piping hot,well cooked food. Definitely recommend this take away.

Has to be the best most authentic Chinese iv ever been too, great food , great people, always bust but always cooked fresh, I cannot fault this food having lived in Asia myself I can honestly say it it the best in the area , eat the crap from fake restaurants if you wish, this restaurant will never let you down on quality.

This really does need some beating, eaten from here a few times now mainly when I visit my parents. We always try to have a takeout, as it's so good. It's as good as a eat in but at a fraction of the cost. Only wish it was nearer to where I live. It's one of the best Chianese I have tasted.

After 10 Years of living in the area, along with my wife we stopped at Lovely on the way home late one night. We have NEVER found a decent chinese takeaway in the Battle/Hastings area so rarely ate chinese food but to our surprise the food from Lovely was fantastic! Great quality ingredients, great flavours and no MSG'S. Can't wait to go back.

Food always very nice and different to what is available at usual cinemas. One can have peanuts and a glass of wine rather than coke and popcorn so very civilised. Only complaint is the service can be rather slow and chaotic

I have eaten from far too many Chinese takeaways to remember but I can honestly say that Lovely is the best....we have friends that drive more than 20 miles just to go to lovely after they tried it with us...I was just reminded to review as my daughter said they where closing for a holiday....I almost shed a tear as I had my heart set on one tomorrow..for those that complain about customer service they need to lighten up!! They don't do cart wheels when you walk through the door but that may be because they are so busy they don't have time to think....after all it is a takeaway not a restaurant so all that matters is the quality of the food - which is 10/10

We use this takeaway frequently and the food is absolutely lovely. Speedy service although always busy and worth waiting a while if you have to. So spotlessly clean. Only drawback is parking is limited on this busy stretch of road.

we have three chinese takeaways in hawkhurst and in my opinion lovelys is the best by far for quality and price . even when they are busy you dont have to wait long normally no longer than ten minutes from phone call to order to picking it up .Ive had many a takeaway from here and have never had a bad meal .

Fast, good value for money. What you would expect in a Chinese Take Away. They will alter your order to suit you ie leave out ingredients you don't like etc.

This has always been our go to Chinese, and with good reason! Food is always delicious, there is a great variety on the menu (though we usually just go for our old favourites!) have been going here from for 10+ years and the food is always of a great standard! All they need to improve on is a smile with the service, as the lady behind the counter can sometimes appear brusque as she is so busy! But I would still highly recommend them if you are in the area!

Having recently moved to this area we were surprised and delighted that there are several take-a-ways in Hawkhurst. "Lovely" is probably the best chinese take-a-way we have ever used. The service is prompt and the food seems to be freshly cooked. It is not oily or greasy and very very tastey. We have used it several times now and it's always been of a high standard and good sized portions.

We live close to Hawkhurst and so have used this restaurant a few times including last night. But, unfortunately we won't be using it again. Food has always been very nice and very reasonably priced, but each time the customer service has been awful - the lady serving didn't even say thank you. I walked in to pick up the take away, was met with one word from her 'name' to which I responded, and then simply '£14.90' - no 'thanks', no 'enjoy your meal'. Very poor. Shame as the food was very nice.

Specializing in Canton and Peking cooking, his is one of three Chinese take away's located within about fifty yards of each other in the centre of Hawkhurst, and is our first choice. The menu is well priced and has all that you expect from a Chinese take away. The staff are friendly and the food is prepared promptly, and always seems very busy. It is closed on Sunday.
