had a long wait for service, the small fish and chips I ordered although it was shown on the menu apparently was not actually available. I was brought the large fish and chips and can in all honesty say that it was the worst fish and chips I have ever had in my life

Lovely place unfortunately the wait for our food was over an hour when it came was cold and not much of it. After rewarming my wife's food she started to choke on what was to be a pice of glass. Complained to the waitress who was very apologetic but nobody came to see if she was OK. Very frustrated about lack of consern.

With little effort this place could be amazing, considering the view and location. So its a real shame that no one is interested of changing décor or giving the place a small makeover. Huge potetial missed there :(

Drugs in the car park being smoked every night, comittee was told and do nothing, it's a health and safety disaster as it's so run down, park area disgusting along with the rest of it. Also spoke to a lot of boat owners and was told of theft and no facilities for boat users also I was shown a video of the guy in charge of the yard rallying a car around the boat yard horrifying to think people pay for secure storage

Visited this establishment with my three kids, avoid at all costs full of drunks who have no respect for other guests also noticed a young girl being served alcohol. Outside was an awful mess and the smell of substances being smoked there was definitely not tobacco. Was surprised to hear of a off duty police officer using the establishment could often be found so drunk that he falls to sleep in the bar. We left pretty swiftly and won't be teturning.

Rundown place very unwelcoming furniture miss matched and could do with replacing. Smoking areas are disgusting and what they call a park should be pulled down before a child is hurt. Potholes everywhere in carpark and it could also do with a clean bins full rubbish everywhere. Was checking it out for a possible Sunday lunch booking but I don't think so. I also own a boat and was thinking of putting it in the yard but heard off one local the yard is neglected by the committee. Stay away at all costs.

We visited for a family Sunday lunch and it was a pleasant experience. The food was a standard carvery and reflected the price you paid. It was quiet but being a sunny bank holiday Sunday, I'm guessing most people would be at the beach. The venue is a little dated and the parsnips could do with some improvement. I'd probably visit again sometime in the future but it's more of a stop off for locals as opposed to a restaurant you'd travel to visit.

Beautiful attention to detail for our Christmas family dinner for 12! Lovely atmosphere, value for money with drinks and food, Pretty table display! Has been newly decorated since our last visit and it’s fantastic! Staff were very attentive and joined in the festive spirit. Dinner itself was outstanding! Lovely range of starters and desserts too. Crumble and custard always a winner. Always a worry of mine when we go out for Christmas lunch with the children that they have to sit still and that I will have to enforce that! I needn’t have worried. Such a lovely atmosphere. Children could relax in the very welcoming and family oriented environment. See you next year!

Just back from my second visit to the Loughor boating club for a Sunday carvery! Stunning dinner fair play! Just as good as the first! Absolutely stuffed walking out of there! Good selection of well cooked meats & veg on offer! A special mention for the stuffing, the chef's grandmother's recipe! You really cannot go wrong for the price! We'll be back! Well worth the 104 mile round trip!

Very pleasantly surprised by this place. Went as a last minute arrangement but ended up with a very tasty carvery. The meat portions were generous and the veg was cooked just right. Its not the most glamorous place you'll go but it's quiet with great view over the estuary.

I have been to the restaurant on a couple of occasions before as a member of a group of 20 plus people. The food has always been of a good quality- bearing in mind the numbers involved . Even when I was last up, the food was still lovely and warm- and there was still plenty of it. We decided to go for Sunday carvery today to see if it was equally as good- it was.The meat was well cooked, tasty and ample for the money. There was good choice of vegetables, all warm and restocked. I was amused to read one review which criticised the lack of salt. This is a very personal thing- I added just a little to mine- but for my daughter it was just right. For those who read reports- there is a hygene certificate on show. My daughter, who works in catering, said that it was good level bearing in mind that this is not a full time restaurant, but serves as a meeting room, bar etc when the restaurant is not open. The tables, cutlery etc were clean and the table mats too.We enjoyed a nicely priced two course meal. Maybe not cordon bleu, but very filling. As I stated my daughter is in catering and she thoroughly enjoyed it too. We will go again and can recommend it. Compliments the staff on their friendly service as well

Called yesterday with the family. Decided to have food. Bad idea!! Waited over an hour for our food, which when it came, was, quite frankly, diabolical. Adults meals consisted of about 6-8 chips, 2 small triangles which masqueraded as a side order of garlic bread, no cutlery until we asked. Complained to the waitress about the size of the portions, and the next thing the 'chef' appeared & started snatching the plates, stacking them up, and snarled "just have your money back" . No sign of customer service, his attitude was appalling. My three year old granddaughter was in tears. Avoid it at all costs!!!

I've actually never written a review before but we had such an awful experience I just had to warn others. My 3 yr old left in tears because the "chef" took her food from her after waiting over an hour for the food to actually arrive. The guy should be ashamed of himself and his attitude. After an hour 2 lots of food arrived but with no cutlery which we had to ask for twice and when we questioned the fact we had ordered an adults dish and were given a child's portion the "chef" snatched the plates off the table and basically snarled "oh just have your money back then"....my daughter then started to cry and say that man took my food and I'm so hungry to which he took no notice. I will never go there again and subject my children to that kind of behaviour and I would urge others to avoid it.

I had Sunday roast here for the first time and this is my opinion;Negatives1 no salt in any of the veg, I don't tend to add salt to any of my food at the table as I don't like too much, but the veg was ruined with no salt added during the cooking. 2 the roasties were sitting there from the first sitting which meant that they were now like chewing cardboard, really disappointed as this is my favourite part of a roast dinner. Positives1 the staff were lovely2 the dinner could have been the best in the area if only they had added the salt and served up fresh roasties 3 the meats were lush4 the stuffing was amazing 5 the gravy was lovelyWould I return? If I found out that the negatives were put right then definitely, as it is now I'm afraid that I wouldn't

Myself, partner and two year old grandchild went lunch yesterday. Partner orderd large mixes grill I ordered beef and ale pie with chips and a child's meal. Mixed grill and child's meal arrived before mine. Waiter appolgised saying my pastry lid was taking longer than expected. The salad on my partners meal was warmer than the meat.!!! Waiter took his meal back and stated they did not have hot plate in kitchen so obvious his food had been left standing while they were waiting for my pie lid!!. His food was duly brought back they had re grilled all the meat so the meat was no longer rare which was my partner's preference. The chef was very abusive when we complained and we were told that if we did not like his food to go elsewhere. My meal was lovely but given that we were two adults and a child in an otherwise empty restaurant you would think they could get the timing of the food better!!! I will say the waiter was great and did his best but chef's attitude diabolical!!

Dirty marked plates and cutlery, food ok but cooks outside smoking main entrance says it all. No sign of any hygiene certificates. We regularly have Sunday lunch at the Loughor Boating Club . Meals are served in four servings at 12 noon, 1pm, 2pm, and 3pm, though there is never pressure to move you on. Everything is well sourced and freshly cooked from scratch, to a very high standard...choice of starters and sweets, which vary seasonally, and a brimming carvery with a huge choice of meats and vegetables (and gravy to die for). The standard is very high. There is no background musak (thank goodness), and the whole atmosphere is of calm friendly enjoyment. Long may it continue!

I visited the restaurant with some friends and having had a bad start to the evening being let down by the taxi company, we hoped that the rest of the evening would be good. We were not disappointed. Siobhan our waitress was lovely and bubbly and put us all in a good mood. The food was ridiculously priced I chose the 32 ounce mixed grill which, together with my prawn cocktail starter and my chocolate pudding with cream as dessert came to just under £25.00p. Ivan the chef came to the table prior to our leaving which was an excellent sign of the service provided. I shall certainly drop anchor there the next time I visit Swansea.
