We had chicken sweet and sour balls and fried rice, the balls were vastly overcooked, some I could not cut into, the special fried rice was in 2 containers and not mixed together as you usually get it, I won’t be back to this takeaway again.

Ordered a delivery tonight. Worth every penny. Fresh, hot, big portions. Reasonable priced. Friendly polite staff. Highly recommend. Definitely be reordering again. Thank you.

I telephoned in on the way back home from work and found this take-away was excellent. Really friendly staff and the best Chicken Chow Mein that I've ever had. Thank-you.

Went to collect a takeaway, young lad working the till. Found he was very rude, and didn’t acknowledge the customers in the shop he just kept answering the phone. He’s very un-organised and make it less pleasant

Ordered almost £60, took an hour which is ok. They missed off the sweet and sour chicken balls and put in extra chips. I called to say this had been missed off and could they deliver the correct item, I was told no as the driver didn’t have time so I said I would go and collect. Drove 10 mins to get these only to be told by the poor young girls serving that the manager (who had just had a baby and was poorly upstairs, whilst they babysat a small bit of hers) that I would have to pay for the sweet and sour chicken balls again.... I argued that I had already paid for them and drove to collect them, asked to speak to the manager and was told she wouldn’t come down to speak to me, and I wouldn’t get my money back! No staff in the kitchen could speak English either. The manager had also cleared the receipts away and we didn’t get one with the order. After saying how unhappy I was and that they needed to give me the money back or the product the girls reluctantly gave me the cash back, although I do feel they will get in trouble for this. Service was awful from the manager, the poor young girls did a great job. Chicken omelette was more of scrambled eggs with chicken pieces, special fried rice was covered in a gravy sauce, no free prawn crackers after spending almost £60, chicken satay were so tough even the dogs had trouble chewing them! I would not recommend this place to anyone. Lovely looking menu that came through the door but place on arrival was horrible, unsure we were even at the right place first. The place is a joke!!!

I will never use this takeaway again... first they over charge me on delivery and tried to deny it! I eventually got my money back after speaking to the manager. I thought i would get past that and try to order again tonight. Placed the order for collection this time, to find when i go to pick it up they had given my food to someone else!!! Im livid 🤬 How can this happen?! It must of been a person with the same name and same order!!! 🤔 what are the chances?!?! When i questioned this i just got a blank look from the two young girls that work there. Absolutely useless. Very poor customer service and i would definitely NOT recommend this place.

Fresh, delivered hot and with a smile. Love the service from Lotus House. Very reliable and well worth it. We are aiming to try everything on the menu eventually but there is so much it could take us a year!

The best take away in the area , fresh cooked for the order , good curry ! The price is reseasnable !

Sometimes difficult to park nearby, but worth the walk to this tucked away restaurant. They cook to order from a huge selection on the menu, and the staff are helpful and polite, and the food is good and tasty. Cash only, no cards. Pop next door to the Nog Inn while you are waiting for food to be cooked.

After a day of pouring rain we picked this takeaway for supper. We both ordered beef curry. Very tasty and plenty of beef (I moaned to my wife that I had heaps of mushrooms in mine / then she noticed she didn't have any !), hardly a big deal though. Overall very good and worth a visit.

I've lived in wincanton my whole life, we've had over all five different Chinese take aways in town and this one tops the list! I haven't bought one thing from there that hasn't tasted great! Highly recommend!!

This is a great takeaway. Hardworking owners, always polite and helpful. Food is some of the best Chinese I have eaten, very well cooked and presented.

Not been in this takeaway since it changed hands many years ago but thought one night we would give it a go. Felt a bit odd at first like we should not have been there and it was a effort for the member of staff to serve us but non the less we ordered. Food came reasonably quickly, and it was hot. Took it home and could not wait but wow it was tasteless for us anyhow, it had a nice colour but the curry sauce looked disgusting in colour and smelt strange, i tried it on what we had ordered but sadly it got thrown away as it was not right well for our taste anyhow. While we would not go back it does not mean that others should be put off, just for us it was not right.

Telephoned the take away at 4.53pm on a Saturday and opens at 5pm on the off chance that I would be able to place an order before driving to Wincanton so I could pick it up at 5.45pm. The person I spoke to was very rude saying not open yet, I apologised and felt disappointed that it was only a few minutes (I had called an Indian take away with an order at 4.45pm and they didn't open until 5.30pm, but were polite and we're happy to take my order and have it ready for 5.45pm). She rudely stated 'what do you want!' I explained my order and she said they were closed. She then said 'do you want it or not?. So I gave her my order, she then abruptly told me call at 5 next time....well there won't be a next time I'm afraid. I went to pick up the order and a young girl was at the front playing on her mobile without even acknowledging my presence, I interrupted her and said that I had come to pick up an order. The chicken in oyster sauce was very bland with not very much flavour at all. A very disappointing experience and not very good customer care.

First time we have ventured into Winky for take away, usually we order from Yeovil but our takeaway from Lotus was lovely! Freshly cooked, piping hot and delicious! Between us all we had six dishes, all of them excellent. Teeny downside was that we felt more an inconvenience to the guy taking our order than we were welcome! A friendly smile and manners (even if disingenuous) goes a long way!

Good Chinese food, with good service. Have always had good food from Lotus House, with home delivery being available should you need. One of the best takeaways that I have had food from.

This has to be my favourite Chinese - Chicken Chow Mein - Chicken Fried Rice Combo with BBQ sauce. Delicious!
