BBQ ribs were not bbq, beef chow mein was tough meat and no flavour with the chow mein. Will not go there again

Never been here before as I usually go to magic wok but they were closed so thought I would try there food what can I say I was very disappointed it was so tasteless and very watery where has the flavour gone not happy at all I’m gonna stick with magic wok there food is so dam good so wish they were open they mite more expensive but worth the money all day long if you haven’t tired magic wok I would defo recommend

Nice food delivered this evening. Arrived quicker than expected. Good sized portions and full of flavour . Sauce containers easy to reuse to save plastic waste.

I ordered from here quite a few years ago and the food was a very poor standard. My husband said let's try it again as it's on our doorstep. Well what can I say fantastic food. Best crispy shredded beef I have in a long time. I will be ordering again

Don’t bother waste your money or time. Absolutely disgusting. Where do I start? The sweet and sour chicken was so watery and tasteless with a bunch of massive tomatoes!? Never seen this before. The curry sauce was standard. The rice was tasteless - nil salt, soya, pees, egg or flavouring. The best thing was the prawn crackles. Please you’ll be disappointed. Yikes. I was better off heading to McDonald’s or tescos for a meal deal. I am really surprised how busy lotus is.

Food is ok here but I would not have beef again it’s the worst I’ve ever had chicken is ok

I have been coming here for over 35 years and the food has always been amazing. However, on coronation bank holiday we ordered a meal and were shocked. The crispy duck lacked taste and was very fatty, couldn't eat most of it. The prawn and chow mein tasted ok at the time. My friend was violently ill during the night. The cat would eat the meat which looked grey in colour. Not sure if there has been a change in management? I advised my friend, to send sample to environmental health. I did not eat prawn or chow mein so was OK. Duck was OK despite fat.

Sorry lotus house, had a takeaway from you a few times but the last one we ordered chicken satay an the chicken wasnt cooked properly ..shame as had some good meals from here but won’t be returning .

The food is always very tasty but the guy on the phone is rude and blunt as hell not great good job the goods good otherwise these guys would be out of business if it came down to customer service

Ordered from here based on reviews, food was hot and delivered pretty quickly but just wasn’t tasty. Chicken chow mein was the only nice thing. Beef was tasteless and greasy, chicken balls were odd, prawn crackers were stale out of a packet. My friends first time trying a chinese and he was not impressed after us all hyping it up so much. Overall sub par, wish it was like the reviews said!

I didn't know you have to order by phone because of the sink hole, blocking the road that the lotus house sits in. But they still served me,which is great customer service and they were very friendly. The food was delicious, we've never been let down by them. Well worth investing your penny's in.

Really impressed with Lotus house, from order to delivery. Food was delivered quickly and the food was tasty and hot. The Chinese New Year calendar thrown in was a nice touch!

Don’t bother so unhelpful and it’s never their fault. the last two orders we’ve had from here has had things missing, when we rung and spoke to them they said “there’s two different dishes the same kind of name” well maybe next time someone asks for one of those dishes ask which one. How are you meant to eat a meal that’s meant to have rice with no rice.

Very nice chinese and great customer service. Placed an order, and due to a miscommunication we recieved the wrong items, I called back and they very promptly sorted it. Would highly recommend. Hope you all have a good 2021.

The person that was taking my order wouldn’t even let me finish my sentence before he butted in wanted to finish the call ASAP. I couldn’t think straight as the questions were so quick!

Worse food ever my wife bought this on her way from work for family..we couldn't eat it..total waste of money all went straight to the bin..the taste is unexplainable..tasteless and rice was rotten...really bad.

Don't waste your money, only thing I liked from here is Singapore rice noodles. Just ordered squid, they were old and rubbery , discolored , hard to chew.

this is a takeaway business so you phone when you are there, you step back and they then put your bag of food outside the door, works fine.

Not so much beef fried rice as spot the rice in the beef: a very generous amount of beef that just kept coming and witn more than just a decoration of peas, I felt I almost hit my food macro target with this meal. Could've done with some soy in it though

It's probably the best Chinese takeaway in the area, but that's not saying much as they are all pretty poor. I stay away from the dishes in sauces here as they tend not to taste too good, sweet and sour is a safe option but even then I find its such a small amount of sauce it vanishes into the rice leaving the experience dry and disappointing, I'm sticking to the chicken balls from now on.

Disgusting food, no taste. The lemon chicken tasted like washing up liquid. Normally really good but had a shocker tonight.

Best Chinese I’ve had in years. Speedy delivery, excellent portion sizes and all at a reasonable price. The salt and pepper squid was exquisitely cooked; the mixed hora d’ouvres just the right amount. I had the sweet and sour chicken with egg fried rice, the OH had chilli beef and Singapore noodles. Both superb! Highly recommended and I will definitely order from here again soon.

If I could give this takeaway a 0 I would. It was the most bland unappealing takeaway we have ever had. It was truly awful. It was missing items. No taste or flavour in any of the dishes ordered. No salt or flavour. "Crispy" duck was not crispy on any way and tasted off. Avoid at all costs..do not waste your money.

Ordered from here for the first time last night having just returned from a week away. Very pleasantly surprised, our usual Chinese being closed, we havnt ventured to this one before, but we will again. The food was piping hot, tasted wonderful and was plentiful. Thank you Lotus House.

Me and my partner love Chinese food and have had our fair share of Chinese takeaways around Maidstone! This has to be by far the worst food I have ever had from a take away, it was cold, tasted off, the beef tasted like plastic, rice was hard like it had been sitting for a while and the gravy sauce was like water. didn’t taste fresh atall! Gentleman was quite rude. Not worth the money! Will not be returning

Ordered takeaway for delivery and paid a £3 delivery charge. Food was hot on arrival. This is the best Chinese takeaway I've so far had in Maidstone. Will definitely order from the Lotus House again.

Having searched the internet on several occasions throughout the year to locate a decent Chinese takeaway, we have now found it!

Used this place several times now. The ordering seems faultless, the delivery timely and the food hot.

From outside it looks "dark" but inside is a wealth of taste..service is polite and prompt and portions are generous..

Believe the reviews.. We used this restaurant to cater for my daughters 18th Birthday. We ordered a substantial amount of food to cater for 30-40 people.The manager was so good and the order was delivered bang on time. Hot,tasty and plentiful. Great chinese and enjoyed by everyone at the party. I cannot recommend it enough. Try it, you will not be disappointed.

Elegimos este para llevar basado en las críticas- y están bien, sin duda. Fue entregado rápidamente por un hombre muy agradable, estaba bien caliente y deliciosa. Había un montón de carne, no muchos guisantes (a diferencia de otros que hemos tenido) y la cebolla cocinados, no estaban correctamente en bruto. Teníamos curry y fue el mejor que hemos tenido en mucho tiempo. Sin duda de nuevo, aunque tuvimos que pagar £1 por entrega, estar fuera de su zona. Zona de Tonbridge Road Moat park? . Calidad y servicio muy apreciado.

Moved into the area 2 months ago & discovered the Lotus. Use the delivery service three times now. Fab food, freshly cooked & hot every time. Highly recommend the set menus.

Used to be my local Chinese takeaway, and still go back there, even though we have moved several miles away. Never had a bad meals, and is my Chinese of choice in Maidstone. Recommended.

Regularmente mi ir a China para llevar. La entrega es inmediata: todas las cosas que cabe esperar de un restaurante chino. Crujientes. Amarga. Dulce. Picante. No demasiado grasiento. Hace lo que dice.

Mejor llevar china nunca. Menú enorme. El personal era servicial. Servicio de entrega. Los conductores de entrega muy agradable. No puedo quejarme de nada.

Food is always good from here, you do not get any free bits such as prawn crackers, open every day unlike others who close on a Monday. I really enjoyed the Singapore chow mien. and a nice heat to it from the chillies

I love this Chinese, the food is really tasty and you get good size portions. It's the best chinese take away I've been to. I would recommend lotus house to any one.

I've been eating in Maidstone for a number of years now and this has become my regular. Good food, friendly service and arrives when they say it will. Would recommend. My Favourite Hot and Sour Soup anywhere.
