Lotus Garden in Chorley

Stopped tonight to.buy a sweet and sour chicken (Cantonese style). It was very good!

Hadn’t ordered for several years due to a poor experience/ quality but took the plunge recently and more than happy with the quality and experience. We had been using a takeaway in Euxton but lotus garden was on this occasion better quality- more tasty and less salty/soy sauce. Will visit again soon

After moving back to the area, we were looking for a decent Chinese takeaway. We think we have finally found it. The food was delicious. Remember to take cash tho! Will definitely Be back

Terrible poor quality food. Spare ribs just bone fat and deep fried. Spring rolls full of bean sprouts only and with no other vegetables. Chicken fried rice more like bland boiled rice. Absolute rubbish don’t waste your money!

Wrong order , bland and watery curry . Won't be going again .

We’ve been many times since moving to Eccleston over a decade ago and it is great to have a takeaway like this in the village. Could you get higher quality Chinese food further afield? I have no doubt, however I have generally found the food to be enjoyable although sometimes variable in quality. Generally very efficient customer service, not to say there haven’t been occasional hiccoughs at very busy times, but we are talking about NYE here, so not the usual experience. It must be noted that they are still cash only, even in this post-COVID age, so don’t forget to go to the cash point first! The food is decent value too, in general, and I will continue to use them for my Chinese takeaways.

Ordered shredded chilli chicken and vegetable fried rice. The chicken dish was very sparce. It contained uncooked carrot and roughly 3 tablespoons of sauce!!! Not even enough to cover the vegetable fried rice, which was tasteless. The whole meal cost £11.60!!! Very expensive considering what I received. Will not be going there again.

My duck chow mein came in a tub that said it was microwave safe. Make of that what you will, but I wouldn't be surprised. Probably won't bother again

Friendly and knowledgable staff. Got my order pretty fast and price was more than reasonable. My king prawn foo young was superb.

Absolutely awful. Special fried rice bland. No taste and burnt frozen chips! The waiting area in this takeaway is filthy! Also filthy magazine on counter from 2015! Take a look round next time you visit.

Had my first (and last) meal from here tonight special curry and salt and pepper chips,i am so disappointed at what i got the salt and pepper chips where absolute rubbish like cheap frozen rubbish and the not so special curry was tasteless, on the plus side service was quick but i will not be returning

Used to be the best Chinese for miles tried today for the first time in many years gone rubbish chips were dried up reheated and curry was tasteless won't bother again

Never had a bad meal from starters to main love chicken chow main salt and pepper 🌶 dishes. Sweet and sour .the duck is very nice and also the foo young 👌 been going now for two years + the portions are great 👍

they make the best salt and pepper chips about and there chilli beef and noodles are class would highly recommend

The battered chicken and prawn balls were greasy and stodgy, egg fried rice was bland and the Salt and Pepper chips were just meh, not great overall. I wore a mask when I went in but none of the staff wore them and neither did any of the 4 people who came in whilst I was there.

The food took longer than we were told, the meet was dried/seemed reheated and one of the three main meals we had ordered wasn't included

Lovely salt and pepper chips and chicken. The sweet and sour is delicious too! Love the prawn toast also!

And no better a year later they seriously need to get a new chef .was completely bland i am lost for words

Bland sauce, tasteless vegetables, chewy meat. A bang average take away at the very best. Not recommended

The Lotus Garden used to really good, but a few months ago I had chicken satay, the sauce was like dishwater and tastless. Then on Christmas Eve I had salt and pepper chicken, it had an overiding fishy smell and it was very chewy, disgusting and totally inedible. At first I thought they'd given me salt and pepper prawn, it ended up in the bin. Even the prawn crackers tasted really odd. I won't be going back. If I could rate with zero, I would have done.

Been a while since my last visit but thought I would try again and see if it had improved, and should never had bothered, so chow mein was that salty it was inedible the chicken in it was processed thin sliced chuxken and soup was like wall paper paste with a funny taste, worst Chinese I've ever had.

Excellent Chinese take away. Friendly staff, great food. Love the tofu in black bean sauce!

Tried the Lotus Garden last night. Wish we hadn't. The boiled rice was decent but everything else was either burnt or completely tasteless. Won't be going back. What a shame.

I have used this take-away occasionally over a period of a few years. Recently it has gone downhill and tonight I had a really poor quality meal. Bland would be the most descriptive word... Do not think I'll be going back...

EDIT: Food back to a good standard. It used to be really good food but recently it's gone down hill. Any dish with beef or chicken is terrible. The chicken is slimy and not like chicken at all and the beef is also slimy and does not have a texture of beef and tastes a bit fishy!

Very poor quality food. Little flavour and bland. Avoid if at all possible as there are surely better choices in the area.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! Gave us the wrong meal and had to go back - wish I hadn't bothered, it was disgusting!

Ordered from here as live in Eccleston and didn't want to drive 6 miles to normal Chinese. What a mistake, worst we've ever had. Gloopy hot & sour soup that resembled wall paper paste, seaweed that was cold and soft, salt & pepper chicken that was tough as old boots and a curry sauce that you could stand the spoon in and all you could taste was curry powder. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Would of give no stars but no option! I used go to this Chinese all the time wen I visited my mum I did rather burn my 20 quid than go to this place again chips bone dry reheated 10 times curry so thick was stuck in the tub dipped my cold dry batterd chicken balls in the wall paper paste iv had spicier kormas used be unreal this place s**test food if et for a long time this

Not impressed tonight they got my order wrong, when I went back they sorted it but it just tastes like they changed the sauce and not the meat, fried rice tasteless might as well have had booked. Will be my last visit

Do not eat from here food poison heaven, Chicken is stringy, tough, tastes horrible and smells it too! Ordered some chow mein and there was a fingernail in it ?! Disgusted

Delicious! Whoever family and friends visit from out of town they always ask if we can go here for takeaway! Always fast and friendly service in my experience - 10/10 would recommend ✅

What a disappointment! The sweet and sour chicken required a serrated edged knife to separate the pieces of chicken from each other. The pork in the pork dish was so tough that it was impossible to chew. Needless to say, our meal was binned and we won't be using the Lotus Garden again.

Another of those local takeaways that is stuck in the dark ages. Same old average Chinese food that you could get 40 years ago, still made with cheap Asian supermarket ingredients and sauces and with no flair or imagination. No website so no online menu and they do not deliver. Needs dragging into the 21st century!

First time I have been as I have just moved to Eccleston. Food was cooked really quickly. Got it home and it was delicious. There were 3 of us and we all agreed it was great. Will definitely be going again

Can't believe we returned yet again - this used to be such a good take away, now they can't get an order correct, the food tonight has been inedible and there is no way we are going to use them in future. The rice tastes of salt, the beef and tomato looks like dishwater and tastes disgusting. We ordered 2 pinapple fritters and yet again they only provided 1. The only thing edible was my sons salt n pepper chips! Will not be going back no matter what other peoples reviews may be

Very quick service and excellent food

Werent the best werent the worst just bang average the curry sauce was illuminous yellow and the rice was undercooked however the flavour was decent and the chips are a different class great fpr eating with the family in front of the tv

This is a good Chinese takeaway. A varied menu...always well cooked. Excellent service. Only shortfall is the absence of credit card facility.

Food was a excellent quality & staff helpful

Had special curry, meat was tender but the sauce was disgusting tasted raw as if they had thickened the sauce with flour and not cooked it properly yuk!

Ordered my food over the phone and the lady read it back and stated 5-10 minutes before it was all ready. I walked up 20 minutes later to find it was nottnready so waited a further 15 minutes. When I got my food home I found that two items were special fried rice not special chow mein. I phoned up to complain only to be told it was my fault and have the lady argue back down the phone. She finally agreed to make my order again. When I got back she then tried to charge extra for the different meals. This obviously did not sit right with Mr as it was not my mistake. I gave her back the unordered and unused special fried rice only to witness the meat being removed and placed into my chow mein without the use of gloves or washing her hands. Absolutely disgusted in the service and the food was not much better. Avoid if you can.

Really good food, great service and generous portions. All at a good price.

The food is of good quality however dry and a little over priced. We always get the same and never had any problems, quick service although do not delivery.

Probado como un esfuerzo decepcionante casero. Yo podría haber producido el mismo con algunas carne cã y un tarro de una dulce y amarga (aunque encargué Szechuan!!!). Muy pobre. Recocido blanda seca gruesas de arroz. Si quieres pagar una prima para evitar cocinar Después asegúrate de recoger en un lugar especial. Basura. Nunca más para mí.

Been lots of times over the years and have always enjoyed the food here - although in recent visits I have found that although enjoyable it doesn't seem to be as good as it once was - maybe my fading memory?

really not for the faint hearted. The food is dreadful and the kitchen looks suspect. There must be more e factors in their sauces plus sugar and salt that are really, really bad for you. Shame the village needs a good chinese!

Tenemos una comida para llevar más sábado desde aquí. La sal y la pimienta pollo es realmente agradable, así como el de chili pollo. Es un poco más caro que los otros sitios pero creo que vale la pena el costo extra. El servicio es muy rápido y la comida es excelente. Tenía un corto mientras estamos la comida no era tan buena, pero realmente es volver a lo mejor.

Esta takeaway chino es un poco más caro que otros de la zona. dijo que la comida es consistentemente buena calidad y sabrosa. Rara vez están esperando para pedidos de teléfono y no cometer errores.
