Great Wall in Chorley

Had a good star review on Deliveroo so we thought we would try here. Order arrived on time and the salt and pepper chips were basically oven chips with hardly any peppers just seasoning and stale. The rice was barely warm and the crispy shredded beef was well over cooked but still unsure if it was overcooked or if it was undercooked. The sweet and sour chicken was a soggy texture and tastes like it’s been reheated. Paid £26 and is definitely not worth the price or portions. Would not order from here ever again or recommended to anyone. I would never normally leave a review for anything but I would feel sorry for the next people to order from here and have the same experience as us.

for £29 most of it went in the bin was tasteless chips were over cooked will never ever use again. maybe you need to check who are on your site absolutely not happy will be using other ways of ordering food

This is bad, I usually leave constructive comments but not this time. the Szechuan beef tasted like sweet n sour with some chillis thrown in, the noodle soup was just passable and finally the ribs might as well have been on the pig there were that chewy.

The chips were old, dry and seemed re heated/fried or simply warmed up. Old chips. Prawn crackers were such a small portion compared to previous orders. Some of the chicken balls were very small, no portion control. Not good. Over £60 for three people. Really not worth the money.

Ashed for more money at the door when I had already payed on the app

We got the salt and pepper box A, wouldn’t get again best part where the chow mein and fried rice. Chips tastes and look like frozen chips, next to no seasoning for the salt and pepper, chicken pieces dry but curry sauce was good. Wouldn’t order item again but would try something else

Ordered accidentally but due to the 4 and a bit stars decided not to cancel. WHAT A MISTAKE. The food was vile, the only thing that wasn’t was the S&P chicken and that was because there was no flavour at all. The food was so oily and the rice was so dark and tasted awful. The grease even jumped out as you bit in. I’m a chubby girl who doesn’t waste food but I gave it to the cat. She left it too. On a positive note Tupperware games strong, just expensive for four tubs for £30. Avoid.

I am really sorry to say that the meal we ordered on the 15th of Fenruary was awful. It was tasteless and the fried rice tasted burnt. The chips were dreadful. We have had food from here for years so we were VERY disappointed. Unfortunately we will not be ordering from there again.

not that impressed with the munchy box if I'm honest. only 2 ribs and not a great deal of salt and pepper flavouring, seemed more like a huge portion of chips with some scraps of chicken on top. the sweet and sour prawn balls however were good

Disappointing- food was plentiful but lacking in any salt n pepper seasoning. It felt like quantity over quantity, and some chicken didn’t taste as fresh as it could have.

Got the salt and pepper box… wish I’d not bothered. Chips, chicken and spring rolls all way over done. Like we’re talking dark brown not golden. The OK sauce, tasted like perfume. All in all a solid waste of £30 and sums up the state of 2023. Thank you and goodnight

I have eaten Chinese all over the UK and quite a few in other countries. The Great Wall is definitely the worst one. BBQ ribs cold and the BBQ sauce was like water. Sweet and sour chicken balls, the outside was cooked as was the chicken but what was around the chicken was not, sweet and sour sauce, well I expected more than just sauce. Egg fried rice, chocolate brown in colour and tasted awful. Cost £21.00 it went in the bin last night but I retrieved it this morning to take photos of it and maybe stop you from making my mistake by ordering from the Great Wall.

Guys honestly this is a shambles. The food is terrible. Salt and pepper chips were a disgrace, no chilli, cold, soggy, hard chips. Genuinely a joke. Mains were also bland, too salty. Egg fried rice has no egg in it, dark coloured hard rice, very cheap ingredients used throughout. Chefs execution is very poor. Awful place, an absolute waste of money, would never return. Come on guys, serve the people better, just terrible. Nothing good to say at all, clearly cutting big corners!

Ordered in advance for 19:40 delivery. Arrived quarter to 9 no communication. Food average, salt and pepper had hardly any pepper. Rumours of large portions over stated.

Never again keep trying after awhile not going, then like a chorley lad, givecit another go. Large spring rolls.good. Salt and pepper chicken, one bite, like it had been reheated several times, binned it. Thai green curry, the duck was like slime, and just about tasty the rest. Bean sprouts , soggy, terribly soggy. Best thing was prawn crackers and they were free. Sorry never again. There is only afew Chinese takeaways in chorley. UP YOUR GAME PLEASE, YOU AINT CHEAP EITHER.

Curry sauce needs to be a bit thicker and the salt and pepper chips and chicken need more spice and flavouring.

I've had this takeaway fair few times having it tonight actually and just thought I should review it. It's just quality. We get the salt and pepper share box thing and it's so good. Ye can have off days and it's not that good as the last but the times it's amazing definitely out way the times it's ok.

Wonton soup- good. Prawn toast- ok. S&P chicken wings- below par, forgot to cook with the onion and peppers… and special fried rice-below par for price, didn’t have a selection of the meat on the top just one small slice of pork and 2 prawns. Delivery quick and food was hot

The Egg Fried rice and the Chicken Fried were disgusting we could not eat any of it. The Prawn curry sauce was like water. The whole order except for the Satay Chicken Skewers was a total waste of money. I WILL NOT BE ORDERING FROM GREAT WALL AGAIN UNLESS THEY MAKE GREAT IMPROVEMENTS WHICH IS SAD AS IHAVE USED THEM FOR MANY MANY YEARS

The half a pekin duck was NOT half it was several chunks of duck which was NEVER cooked as a pekin duck is normly. Very very poor

You could tell that the food had been put in the microwave before it came to the house half the rice was really hot and the other half was cold. You could tell that the chicken had been put into a microwave soggy batter This will probably be the last time not probably is the last time I will order from there very poor show.

Had I delivery in error from this takeaway that's the same name as my local one The potions were very small and couldn't eat the chicken main and pork main just eat the chips Shocking that just eat refused to refund my money 💰 the guy couldn't refund me because I wrnt though just eat online

Food lovely, but getting really annoyed with the delivery driver who consistently tries to get a mysterious additional £2 delivery fee, despite this already having been paid for via Just Eat. We ordered the munchy box and was pleasantly surprised despite all the negative reviews. We ordered nearly before it closed but the food still tasted fresh, piping hot and arrived on time. Really nice food (chow mien was a little greasy) and amazing portion size for the munchy box.

After placing an order for delivery (35-50 mins estimated) the delivery mysteriously changed to over an hour. When it finally arrived - an hour and twenty mins after ordering. I was shocked to find out I had to pay an extra £2 delivery fee on top of what I’d already paid. I had no cash, so the driver insisted I paid via bank transfer! Once I actually got to eat the food, they’d given me chicken instead of pork, and vegetable spring rolls instead of chicken. The only saving grace is that the food actually alright, but definitely wouldn’t order again after the massive faffing about.

The crispy duck starter was veey nice, although the special chow mein had a nasty taste to it and it was extremely oily as well. I have had food from here before and it was good, but tonights meal was very disappointing.

We ordered Salt & Pepper chips but did not enjoy them as they were extremely dry as if they had been heated up. Spring rolls was ‘ok’ but not much taste to them. Fantastic rice and Sweet & Sour Chicken balls though.

Well firstly an hour wait was ridiculous, became 70mins. With an hour prep you’d think the order would be correct but no, onions again? I specifically asked for no onions. Then food cold too.

Surprised at reading the reviews - best Chinese I have had in ages. Took an hour to get here but that was expected on Uber eats.

Just Eat initially said 35-50 minutes, confirmation said 60-80 minutes, actually arrived in around 45 minutes. All food was acceptably, though not piping hot, and the driver was polite. Salt & Pepper Ribs - These are the small, lightly battered type. If you prefer a bit of a kick in terms of flavour, these aren't for you. Whilst nice enough in their own right, they're very softly seasoned. BBQ Ribs - Large, plenty of meat on the bone, thoroughly covered through not dripping with sauce. Chips - Reminded me more of oven chips than what I think of as 'chippy chips', just a matter of preference I suppose. Overall, pretty decent.

Reviews are very different on just eat, regret not checking Google , food was rubbish £21 in the bin , tainted with what I can do only describe as incense sticks foral kind of taste & smell , spring roll dripping with grease , prawn toast looked old and refried , main dry with no taste apart from strange floral taste , 1 star because I can't post without one

Every bit of the meal was delicious. Cannot fault the speed it arrived, the quality of food or the overall experience. 100% will order from them again.
