Dry special chow mein, not much meat or chicken in it, nothing else

Service is always good, food arrives on time stated! A lot more expensive tbh compared to most chinese’s certain foods warrant the prices others fall below the standard of the costing. For example curry sauce is quite watery in a curry. However still a very nice Chinese

My go to Chinese takeaway love it

I ordered a family meal for £39.00, which was significantly more expensive than other Chinese takeaways in the area. However, the quality of the food was extremely poor. The chicken in the meal resembled rubber, ruined my jaw, and the rice had an unpleasant, stale taste. Like it had been sitting for days. This experience was highly unsatisfactory, and I advise others to avoid purchasing food from this place. As a paying customer, I expected to receive a high-quality meal, but I was sorely disappointed. AVOID.

-Chicken in curry was like mushy rubber -Chicken in “crispy” lemon chicken was soggy -Chicken rice noodles were a pile of bland slop -Mix starter was dry as a bone Just basically paid £40.40 to dip a bit of prawn toast in black bean sauce Awful food

Have always loved the food from here but what have they done? Had a chicken curry with chips recently they put the chips in with the curry when they used to be separate and the curry had very sparce amounts of chicken and peas in it. Seems they have upped the prices and cut the ingredients. I have no objection to paying more but don't spoil your product by cutting it down. Very disappointed.

DRIED OUT, GONE OFF CUCUMBER Manager refused refund after i said i would bring the UNTOUCHED food back. Told me no refunds as they cant replace the food they had delivered. Then cut off the phone line.

Desk lady was lovely but had some salt and pepper chips and they were very bland could’ve done with a bit more flavour to them

Well, tried this restaurant twice, Delivery and second for pick up first time I was very sick so I ordered a take out so couldn't taste proper, lost taste buds. But today OMG best sweet n sour chicken I ever had, it was the most tender but crispy enough outside special fried rice was very tasty

Been using lotus garden for over 3 years. Counter staff always polite well presented and happy. Very welcoming . I have seen them dealing with very difficult customers and remains calm and collective. Food is amazing I would never eat at any other Chinese. Owner always willing to amend my order to suit my dietary needs. Keep up the excellent work

Where to start order a mega chicken salt and chill pepper box meal waited out side for 20 mins after then going in and waiting. The 2 young girls in the front desks were very rude and kept on swearing in front of me. Considering I am a paying costumer this is unexpected. I think the young one was training and learning the ropes and the front of house staff don’t even wash there hand when they go serve up your food will definitely 100% be contacting trading standards as there is definitely a breach here with this Chinese takeaway. In terms of the food it was cold and bland and all the meat had a weird aftertaste and the chicken wings were very bloody so was unable to eat a good portion of my food definitely would not recommend this Chinese take away.

Very bland and tasteless food. Pre-ordered but still had to wait 15 minutes. Food hygiene rating of 1 says it all. Wish I'd checked that beforehand.

Good food good service would recommend

When I first ordered from here it was so nice until yesterday when the spring roll smelled like a fish tank not been cleaned for months and was cold in middle chicken wings were giving off a weird smell and special currry and the peeking ribs were not good owner offered free winds and spring roll but I passed on that I have deleted there number and won’t be using them again why can’t takeaways just do good food it’s simple

I've been using lotus garden for over 26 plus years, and the food has always been consistent. In fact I would have and did rate it excellent, however......... I'm not sure if its changed hands, had new cooks or just buying cheap quality ingredients now. I always have the Singapore chow mein and know how it should be by previous standards. My Singapore chow mein was all glooped together and extreamly greasy ( its never been like this) in all the years I've been using them. No green peppers and the chicken wasn't cooked in soy sauce which all adds to the flavour of the food. 5 spice and pepper were also missing. Apparently the chef (very good English too informed me ppl don't like the peppers in it, lotus garden chefts don't speak very good English). Previous to this my order was messed up and was told I would have 2 free Singapore chow meins. I did say I will not be bothering to collect on it after the utterly disgusting dish I was served up on my last visit. I will not be returning anymore it pains me to say this as I need to find a replacement .

Will not order again ordered prawn curry hot and they sent roast pork and chicken it's not hard to get a simple order right

I've been using this Chinese shop for about 15years . I won't go anywhere else, even though I've moved out the area, although I have on odd occasions if its been closed but nothing compares. tonight I popped in after the late shift at work to find the lights low and the guys closing up. I said not to worry I'd pop somewhere else. the young lad and young lady went out of their way to whip me up my meal. nothing seemed to much trouble. here's to the next 15years lol🥂😁

Placed an order and part of it was missing. I tried to phone but when the order came the shop was closed. Needless to say I’m very annoyed. The chips tasted like they’d been cooked in butter and some were undercooked. Not a good experience, even worse 1 family member had to do without food because of your mistake . Needless to say most of the food went in the bin. What a waste!

Best Chinese takeout we've ever had, won't go anywhere else.

Excellent service from the very polite girl who took our order, to the professional delivery service to the door (socially distanced of course). The food was lovely. Well cooked and not over priced. Free spring rolls also with my order. Thankyou

Prices keep going up not as good as it used to be, hardly any meat in some dishes other places we've tried are better and offer more choice and much more value for money.

Order a variety of food all cooked to perfection. Can well recommend this chinese takeaway. Delivery driver very pleasant and polite. Will certainly order again.

We chose lotus garden due to or usual being closed during lock down. Even when or usual was back open we decided to stay with them as food was good but after 3 different occasions they’ve got the order wrong and don’t buy the salt and chilli prawns as you literally get 5 in there for £6 just a joke!

Went to Lotusgarden to place a large order the place was empty and I was told to wait outside with a shake of the finger and a very loud voice I am a 52-year-old not a five-year-old definitely will not going into that place ever again the staff working behind the counter are extremely rude

Bang on that nice even had to call to give compliments to the chef beef curry spot on egg fried rice spot on chips spot on I'd give it more then 5* if I could 😊👌 10/10

Ordered crispy lemon chicken and rice. It was gross. Slimy, soggy and chewy. There was nothing crisp about it. My son had curry and chips. The chips were soggy and looked burnt. Looked reheated. This place has gone down the nick.

Rang an ordered, couldn't find my address, gave my post code, oh yes we know that, driver came, said it was not for us, went 2 doors away...still no food...I rang the same person said I gave the wrong address..NO I DID NOT, YOU SAID YOU KNEW THE ADDRESS. when the food eventually arrived...it was COLD, CONGEALED, INEDIBLE...THE YUK SUNG HAD NO LETUCE, again I rang....the same person said OH SORRY.....I WILL HAVE A WORD WITH THE BOSS WHEN HE ARRIVES....still no satisfaction....the meal went in the bin....no phone call as promised and when I rang tonight....WELL WE DID OFFER TO REHEAT THE MEAL AND YOU REFUSED...... DISGUSTING FOOD....DISGRACEFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE....I WILL SHARE ALL OVER FACEBOOK, TWITTER, AND ALL MY FACEBOOK

Ordered from here for 20 years plus. We noticed downturn in quality recently, then last night sent the whole family meal back. Poor quality but worse, hairs in the food. I spoke to the new owner on the phone. He was very apologetic and refunded the meal he blamed a bad batch of bean sprouts for the hairs. I asked why was he still serving them? he replied "its all the warehouse had". thats just silly. losing a load of clients over not getting another supply. We wont be using it again and only just found out Sue and Dave no longer own it. First meal in over 25 years returned. What a shame. The end of an era.

Amazing friendly staff, great food,very clean always wear gloves and hair net. Would recommend.

The chicken down there is spot on its very nice especially the chow main and the food is really fresh

Amazing food, I always go to this Chinese ,the kitchen is very clean and the food if freshly made and if there is something that isn't on the menu they will make it for you very friendly staff highly recommend.

Poor quilty the food was vile our first time ordering and will be the last curry need all chewy unbeatable bits than meat and completely tastless the chips burnt and hard dessusted for the money we spent

I use this Chinese now a few times not the nicest curry otherwise the food is okay friendly staff nice and clean but go to the other Chinese down the road that dose a lot nicer curry but we all have our own preferences

Just tried this takeaway on a recommendation. Needless to say will NOT USE AGAIN!! Singapore rice noodle mixed meat had questionable prawns in looked under cooked. Crispy duck was soggy and chewy the pancakes were thick and inedible. Only nice bit was the chips!! Horrible and I don’t usually write reviews.

Only went here cause my regular one was closed. Bad idea not nice at all. Meat was very chewy in the Singapore chow mein & the beef in black bean sauce. Sauce was vile. Defo be waiting 4 my regular 2 open again in future.

Our local Chinese - good portion sizes, chicken balls are huge and yummy, sauces seem to have changed recently though for the worst but still nice. Would recommend.

Just received food well part of it anyway, no egg fried rice and as for the vegetable chow mein in oyster sauce there was no sauce 2 slices of peppers 6 peas and 2 mushrooms which I did ask for no mushrooms 3 brown old looking carrots I'm sorry but this has to be the worst food I have ever received! I can handle something being forgot off my order but when it looks like old veg being used they will never have an order from us again!

I ordered a takeaway from this place I asked the lady to repeat my order three times before making the order and when it came it was missing some items the food was absolutely rubbish and the spring rolls had no vegetable filling inside the curry taste like paste I will never order from this Chinese ever again and if I know anybody who eats in this Chinese I will strongly advise them not to eat please if anybody is thinking about eating at them this takeaway please do not

Warmed up, over cooked rubbish, 1st time ordering from here , and the last, the plain chow mein was like rubber, and the chips tasted like they were cooked days ago then warmed up

Delicious food with a great selection of dishes, great service, very reasonable price, fast delivery.... I can't fault it. My top favourites are their house special curry and egg fried rice, their special chow mein, their sweet and sour chicken balls, their crispy duck with pancakes and hoi sin sauce and their barbecue spare ribs are to die for!

We use this takeaway for food when we are on shift on a Saturday night. Have to say we have never had a bad meal, love the chicken curry and the swee chilli chicken. Lovely.

After ordering take away on a Saturday night, lady on the phone said 40-45 min wait- standard really! After an hour still no food. My husband rang to see where it was and they said 10-20 more minutes!Once our food arrived the curry was bland and the rice was over cooked and stuck togetherSafe to say we won't be ordering again!

Had a meal delivered - the chips were very cold and crispy. Everything else had a lot too much grease on for our liking. Very expensive compared to other local places.

We don't usually have a Chinese takeaway, we like Indian food, but as a change, last night, I didn't feel like cooking an evening meal, so we decided to try the local Chinese takeaway. We rang up Lotus Garden and ordered the set meal for two, and was told that we could collect in fifteen minuets. When we collected the meal and got it home I was impressed by the lovely smell as I opened the piping hot dishes, the meal was tasty, hot, and the amount of food was adequate. It was an excellent meal, and will use this local Chinese takeaway again, soon.

we used this takeaway for as long as it's been open, weather it's been for just the 2 of us or if we've had guests it's always been very good food always hot and delivery prompt.

Daughter had a Chinese delivered!! Chicken balls was pink inside they refused to come back out and changed them saying she was lying ..... That they sold lots that night with no complaints .Had to go to shop to show them then was given refund after complaining .... Wouldn't order from there again.Terrible service Terrible food
