Lo's Cheeseake Emporium in Cambridge

Food and coffee ok, but service slow and I was a bit uncomfortable with the owner telling off her staff as they served me ... it was just a slightly odd atmosphere

We used to come regularly but sadly, it's not as good as it used to be. There is barely any cheesecake available despite us arriving just as it opens. Last time there was only three flavour options available and only two scoops of each so not even enough for our group. The cheesecake is good and the reason why we visit. We sadly have to stand at the counter for quite a while before we are even acknowledge let alone served. It doesn't take much to say "we'll be with you in a second" or even "good morning, won't be a minute" Our last visit we had to stand in the doorway as there were cake boxes on every table and we didn't know where to sit. Again, we weren't acknowledged for several minutes and we were the only ones there. The standard of coffee presentation varies with each visit and sometimes we're lucky enough to get a spoon and the cute cork coasters. There is also now a shop dog and although he/she is super cute, it barks very loudly in the corner which is very annoying and off putting when you're trying to have a conversation over a coffee. It's sad because it really is a special place and completely unique but when you and others travel for 30+ mins to visit and get some amazing cheesecake to find the standard just isn't there anymore. It's not worth the trip now when there are so many other places offering unique experiences.

We ordered a special occasion cake for our son’s birthday and it was truly incredible, certainly the best we have had and we have had some expensive ones. Lo’s, made by Georgia, are the not cheap but they are best value of all cakes, so try one, they are amazing. It was massive, so do check the size before you choose.

This place has so many flavour biscuits to choose from, so many flavour cheesecake fillings, so many toppings, from cookie dogh, custard cream, jaffa cake, pretzel, meringue, haribo, caramac. My new favourite place to grab a sweet treat in the whole of Cambridge. MUST GO!!!
