Very disappointed supported this takeaway since it opened.Recomended to many friends. However last nights meal was awful.Leave the lamb well alone, unless you wanna lose all your teeth.

Fantastic food, good for the traditional Bengali food rather than the “traditional English style” dishes. Really friendly people working there. Highly recommend

We ordered the popular dishes most of us love , madras, korma , nan etc . The madras tasted of pepper it was far too hot without any flavour. The onion pakoras were tasteless as was most of the food. The prawn purée was vile . Never again.

The food in this restaurant was amazing and me and my family loved the chicken tikka balti curry the most. So good, so appetising and overall, a great takeaway 👌

It appeared to be very quiet which is always a little concerning when trying a new take away but there was no need to be concerned, the food was amazing. Staff friendly and welcoming. Quite basic seating/eating inside but food great. Think I’ve found our new favourite take away

Palkee is the latest in a series of takeaways on this site, going back many years. While waiting for the food, I had a great chat with the owner about his plans for this new restaurant, and I wish them well. They've also put in some tables if you want to eat on the spot. They say the (pretty huge) menu is authentically Bengali. My tastes are fairly mild but I largely left my choice in the owner's hands. They came up with Gosht Khali Bhuna (lamb bhuna), Dhall Samba (daal with spinach), rice and naan, all comfortably within the £20 budget. A few nice additions too. The verdict? Very good indeed. For home delivery, minimum order is £13, plus £2 delivery within 2 miles radius (presumably anywhere south of the river). No delivery cost for those of us lucky enough to be able to walk round. On a first visit, thoroughly recommended.

Maharani is my local Indian takeaway, and the only place I order from. Food portions are a good size, everything tastes great and the staff are always so friendly when I go to collect. Highly recommend!

I used to like Bridges a lot but I've been disappointed by the value recently - I had a slither of a slice of cake and it cost £4.20. A slice 2x the size would be £2.20 at Caffé Nero (so about 1/4 of the price). I know Bridges cakes are delicious, homemade, etc. but when you pay as much as £4.20, you don't expect a mean portion. I'd probably choose a different local café next time. A big shame, though! Also worth mentioning that there's no customer w.c.

We had a good time here, place is atheistically very beautiful. Though we didn’t get seat inside any bird cage but were in main hall on regular table, main hall was beautiful. It needs to be booked in advance as place seems quite popular & busy. We had ordered Fresh Thai salad, Vegetable Spring rolls, Thai Green Curry, Vegetable Pad Thai, Mango & chilli mocktail. Drink was average, nothing great about it. What we enjoyed most is vegetable spring rolls, absolutely delicious & had even ordered a repeat, Fresh Thai salad was quite interesting too. We enjoyed all the items we had ordered. Our server was having her first day, which explains it why there was some communication gap , she was very cute and polite & we were not fussy or in rush. So we let it go. I would highly recommend this place for having Vegetarian & delicious Thai
