It was quiet when we went there, but I'm sure the atmosphere is better at different times.we only a drink so can't crate the food

Great little boozer on the seafront. Very friendly barman and cracking pint of Guiness.

Was looking somewhere dog friendly as we had our dog with us and wanted to sit inside and wanted something different to fish and chips Sadly that's only positive I can say on this place Guy on the door radio up to ask for a table for 2, we went up and the lady sat us at a table for 4 people (2 person tables was available) My partner decided he wasn't hungry so it ended but just ordering food for me and drinks for both of us The same lady that seated us said is that it (with a disgusted look on her face) your at a table for 4 people I may have to move you (they'd seated us there 🤦‍♀️) Went back and told my partner we have to move but they didn't in the end Same lady brought over my food and slammed it down making me jump as we was looking at the views out the window It was slightly burnt but at least part of the experience was warn Don't think we'd use pub again

Always thought of this as a locals pub. Called in for a quick couple of pints. It was ok for that purpose but not high on my list for return visits.

Spent the day in Scarborough stoped here for food and drinks the resturant is up stairs and is dog friendly. The ladies who served were so polite the only downside were the food it was ok but chips were over cooked and no one ate them 😔 but otherwise it was ok

We had a very bad experience today at Lord Nelson restaurant, lady from the bar was not friendly and helpful at all, we had to wait more than 30 min for food, just some sandwiches and chicken nuggets, kids menu. The food wasn't fresh, I would definitely not recommend it. Shame, the see view is beautiful, they should invest more in personal

I'm appalled by this place I suffer with irritable bowl syndrome, after having a awful sediment infused pint which they refused to change. I then desperately needed the toilet when I was intrupted by a rude obnoxious member of staff who refused me entry in the most condescending way humanly possible and said it was for paying customers only. (Despite my efforts to explain I was a paying customer).

Lovely staff efficient and on the ball with people trying to sneak in to just use the facilities, mowtown, and 80s hits on at a pleasant level in the background. I was in at 2pm on a tuesday, so cant comment on what its like when the kataoke is on. Good little place to rest your legs and have a drink.

Karaoke bar with reasonably priced drinks

visited here for a few drinks with mates. It was quite busy for the afternoon. Drinks prices were reasonable considering it's packed with mainly tourists. Very old tho definitely needs a lift but I assume the owners want to keep it in such an old traditional way. I was speaking with one of the guys drinking there and he said the best thing about this place is the karaoke stuff and it's always full during that time. The location is absolutely spot on, bang opposite the beach. If ever again in Scarborough will visit again.

Didn't have food. Just a very basic pub, beer was good and bar staff were friendly. It was a very hot day and this pub basically fit the bill

Bar man was a miserable sod. Poor choice of beers but lots of larger choice which is irritating.

My family tried to go in here on a Saturday afternoon for a drink. When we entered the main bar was nearly empty, there was a guy who was smoking inside with his dog, a man from behind the bar who was talking to the smoking man told us we couldn't come in as we had a child (5year old) with us. We said we were going up to the family friendly area upstairs and was told it was closed for food and they don't serve drinks up there. So we left and went to the new Lancaster who were actually welcoming. Would not return to the Lord Nelson again.

Great karaoke bar! Some of the singers sounded professional. Other customers were friendly, looking to have a chat.

Really enjoyed it in here the last few days, did a lot of exploring as it was my first time being in Scarborough since being a kid and it was really fun, the karaoke was a great vibe, everyone was really welcoming and friendly, bar staff were amazing and very attentive, lovely people to talk to. It was a shame I had to leave and get the train back to Manchester really haha but I'll definitely be back here again, great pub!

specific problem with heather, i was told i was ok to keep my legs (calves specifically resting on a seat) to help my severe scoliosis and keep me comfortable after being told to remove legs by patrick then told by another member of staff my legs are ok , heather decided it was suitable to come over to the chair i was resting on and aggressively yank the chair from under my legs even with me explaining my physical disability, extremely uninclusive and extremely disrespectful towards disabilities, heather should be ashamed. after heather did this, the owners son told me i was ok to keep myself in a comfortable position on a chair. heather has 0 respect and seemed happy for me to write this review, threatening me as a 20 year old girl with her 50 year old husband. Horrible service and extremely uninclusive.

Nice friendly pub on 5he sea front. Didn't eat there, so I can't comment. There are plenty of drinks to choose from. They were very accommodating, as there was a coach full of us, on route to a football match.

Super friendly pub, lovely local feel to it and welcoming to new customers. Would happily come back again. The man behind the bar was great, made me comfortable and made plenty of conversation.

Great place, fantastic atmosphere and the bar staff are very pleasant. James the owner is extremely friendly and always gives a warm reception upon arrival. Bob who does the Karaoke is great at handling the decks and is very helpful.

Fun night here , excellent customer service would recommend.

Helpful staff. I have two Autistic daughters and the staff were so kind to them and all my oldest daughter wanted was porridge. They catered for her needs. Highly recommended

Friendly staff and great for a karaoke night. Closes early if quiet, so don't assume it's one of those bars for a quick 'one for the road'.

We were kicked out because we needed to change our baby in the toilets and he said we'd have to wait for 20 minutes for a table upstairs even though we were going to have a drink in the bar too ⭐

Lively pub decent karaoke good compare

They are dog friendly, but not in the evening on karaoke nights. Makes sense it's too busy for a puppy. Pub classic food and environment. Food is cash only, no card payments.

Awful service today. This says family friendly outside. My 4 year old sat at a table as we arrived and tapped his fork on the table (the horror) and was told off by the member of staff. Then he kicked his shoes off so he could cross his legs on the chair and was told off again for taking them off. If I’d not handed my money over I’d have walked straight out of this place. Clearly in their view children should be seen and not heard. Poor kid didn’t dare make a sound in there. Horrible staff!

Great drinks and lively, karaoke atmosphere.

me and my 4 daughters walked into the pub and we were instantly singled out by a cruel bartender. i was taking them out for a nice day since they have just finished exams but this ruined our experience. the bartender continued to hurry us to pick a drink and when one of my daughters didn’t want one, he asked us to leave. also he kept looking at their behinds and laughing with his cronies. will most definitely not be coming back. i do not recommend this pub to anyone.

Best karaoke around and run properly.. Felt safe as doorstaff in and a pleasent atmosphere. No nonsense karaoke ...we r djs from Blackburn and it's good to find a karaoke as good as ours. Has most songs and pleasent attitude to his singers. Recommended .... We will be back again !!!

The bartender was rude, hostile and unfriendly (the male one). Probably lack of communication skills. Thousand of times had seen drunkers inside and never anyone had any problems. Don't recommend

Says that it is dog friendly. When we got inside,it was about six o'clock was told have to leave at 6:45 with the dog, because it is karaoke night. Wouldn't mind but our sausage dog is a great singer. Don't bother very unfriendly.

Popped in for a rest and a pint. Comfy seating, helpful and friendly staff, situated near the seafront. Great view!!

Great pub, Karaoke brilliant, landlord spot on.

We were hungry and cold with 2 children and a dog looking for somewhere warm and dry to have dinner and a few drinks. Saw the signs stating dog and family "friendly" so thought we'd give it a try. However, as soon as we stepped in the door a barmaid greeted us by telling us "you can't take the dog that side you will have to go that side, and in the same breath looked at my daughter who was finishing a small pot of seafood and said "and you cant bring your own food in here". It sounds like nothing and i could completely understand if we had all brought in a meal from the chippy but she had a mouth full left. We just turned and walked straight out. Wouldnt have felt comfortable spending time in there, didnt feel welcome at all. Cant imagine we will ever step foot in there again as there are so many other places there with lovely warm welcoming staff and customer service.

Great pub good beer and atmosphere

We called in for a drink it was very quiet as it was a Wednesday afternoon in October. The bar man was friendly enough and the beer was good. They do serve food but only at weekends. No negatives to add just a typical local pub.

Right on the sea front with an old school feel to it,clean and tidy with helpful staff,be happy to go again.

Absolutely LOVE this pub, we called in for my daughters first legal drink when she turned 18, and it's now a family tradition to go every year after we have spent the day at Scarborough. The landlord is friendly and has a wonderful memory...He recognises us every year!! The prices of the drinks are competitive, the atmosphere is welcoming, the music is fantastic and the other customers have been known to sing "Happy Birthday" to my daughter and buy her a drink. For all we live in Leeds..We consider Lord Nelson our "Local" and look forward to coming back every year.

Lovely food, more than enough for both adult and children's meals and very nice staff who were very welcoming.
