Walked in today, only to be greeted by staff saying horrible remarks about customers not quietly may I add, then I brought turkey and ham pie. Or should I say a mortens mouldy pie it’s a good thing I spotted it when I did or I reckon I’d be pretty ill right now. Needless to say won’t be visiting again and highly advised those who do to be careful.

I found this small tea room by accident as it is close to the Chequers Pub, but they are closed for lunch on a Monday. We were quickly seated, menu provided and a steaming pot of tea produced within 10 minutes.

The tearoom was recommended by my husband’s business associate. The fact it is even called a tearoom perked my interest! The welcome here was very warm, and although the tearoom was quiet today, it had a very friendly ambience and a couple of couples turned to smile as we stepped inside. A lovely gentleman greeted us and I knew we had made the right choice for our lunch today! We both ordered a Fentimans elderflower drink whilst browsing the lunch menu. My husband chose the fishfinger sandwich and a portion of chunky chips, and I chose a bacon sandwich. My request for the bacon to be “well done” was no problem at all. Whilst we waited for our food to arrive, the same gentleman (whom I think I heard another diner call “Lee”), was merrily chatting with a couple of other diners, yet to us at the same time and we all shared a smile and some laughter. Our food was great! My bacon was indeed well done (& Lee checked back to ensure they had got it right and that I was happy). The slices of bread used for our sandwich were huge! And I don’t mean unpleasantly thick, no - they were just very very large 😳👍😆. And stuffed full of filling (more like a sandwich and a half really!). Next I had a pot of tea 🫖 . Now, although I’m not a particularly strong tea drinker, I do like my tea served hot, and to drink it hot! No scrimping on teabags here - so it brewed quickly and I was able drink two cups without the temperature fading. Talking of temperature, it was lovely and warm in the tea shop… (and I feel any draughts!). Full and happy we paid our bill and headed back on the road, and here I am writing a review! And as we are not local, and the cakes & deserts looked and sounded divine, I am already plotting an excuse to return & visit again very soon …

Myself and my wife popped into the convinence store next door as we needed some medicine. The gentleman who owns the store also owns the tearooms, unfortunately we ran out of time to visit the tea room. But I just wanted to say the gentleman who owns this establishment is the nicest gentleman I have EVER met, he is absolutely delightful, helpful knowledgeable and extremely polite. I cannot wait to come back to the area and try the tearooms, the menu looked delicious and the room itself wonderful

Breakfast fit for a king, quickly served & piping hot. I wonder why there isn't mushrooms included.. This place is spotless, the staff are helpful and the food is just wonderful. Breakfast includes coffee or juice, that makes it quite inexpensive really. Although when we visited May 15 2023 around midday it was fairly busy (always a good sign) we were under no pressure to finish and leave. Will we be back? Not half. Highly recommended, try a visit sometime, you won't be disappointed.

If you want to see what people look like when chewing a wasp, then this is the place for you. Just keep watching the serving staff. The ladies seem uniformly unable to smile and although the food was to par, we were bemused as to what we had done to have this grumpiness thrust upon us - perhaps it was having the cheek of turning up and wanting to be served at a time inconvenient to the staff. Even compliments about the chandeliers were thrown back with grumpy sarcasm. Service was at least quick although we began to suspect that was in a desire to be removed from the premises s quickly as possible, so that the place was again free of those not already retired. Next time, we will go elsewhere as judging by the comments, it seems to be an established trend.

Delightful tea rooms serving freshly cooked food. I opted for ham, egg and chips. The chunky chips are an absolute triumph and the two fried eggs were beautifully cooked, large serving of tasty ham. Followed it with homemade bake well tart which came with a jug of cream. Staff are lovely and the owner, Lee, takes the time to chat and make everyone feel valued and welcome. My friend is a regular and recommends the breakfasts. Really enjoyable experience.

I love Lord Morton's Tea Rooms and come here several times a year. I have just had a lovely lunch with a couple of friends. It was one of the special harvest lunches and cost just under £18. For that I had a delicious home made soup, salmon and vegetables and a cheese platter. The others had chicken for a main course and either bread and butter pudding or blackberry pie. Also included was a glass of Buck's fizz and a couple of cups of very good coffee. It was all lovely and tasted home made just like you have when someone makes an effort to make Sunday lunch. I could not fault it.Service is always good and here they make an effort to look after you. This place is small and quirky. It is a special place and we are fortunate to have it fairly near. My friends are happy to travel a distance to come here with me.

Sorry it's taken a few days to complete this review but I wanted to say thank you to the lovely ladies who served us last Thursday. We wanted to treat our friend who is not very well at the moment and in a wheelchair and they were so kind and accommodating. When I booked they explained about the disabled access and had thoughtfully put us near the entrance on a reserved table. My friend doesn't have a huge appetite due to medication so they were happy to change the soup for the children's soup but he enjoyed it so much he asked for more bread and managed to be tempted by the beautiful home made desserts. I chose the quiche which came with a lovely fresh salad, coleslaw and potato salad and was delicious. Service was efficient but not rushed and all done with a smile and in a helpful manner. There were regulars at other tables which was great to see and the place was spotless. All in all a lovely visit and we're looking forward to returning soon.

Not a very friendly reception. Had to chase up service; was asked to move to wooden chairs rather abruptly. I think the look on my face prompted the explanation (I was a cyclist but despite not being muddy I still had to move) and had to help myself to the coffee refill. Like another reviewer, I felt the local/frequent customers get better service. Also couldn’t find any vegan/gluten free items on the menu. Will be going to the garden centre just up the road in future - cyclist friendly, vegan menu and welcoming - worth the extra couple of miles.

We have eaten here many times and loved it. Some of family have also eaten there. Of late the standard has slipped due partly to the owner's abscence and the loss of some very good staff. Our recent visit and sadly the last was ruined by a number of long hairs on my meal which stuck in my throat and made me gag. The ever wonderful Jan offered her help to no avail. Should she leave , close the place. One of our favourite places is now lost to us.

We were the only customers in the Cafe area and was approached very quickly, after ordering our drinks arrived very quickly, the tea or coffee was shown as a pot, but I had to ask for a refill of filter coffee. The food appeared some time later and when it did arrive the scones, cream and jam were very disappointing, the scones were very small and appeared to me to be something you would get from a supermarket multi pack, even so there was barley enough cream and jam for them. The Cafe itself was very comfortable and well appointed, but the service and product, in this case, was poor. Perhaps I went on a bad day but what I got was not worth the price (£5.95)

I went with a friend to the Whitlenge garden centre just up the road. We planned to have lunch in their tea room but I could not find anything on their menu that took my fancy. I do not have a sweet tooth. My friend is not a great fan of noisy pubs but I like a glass of wine when I go out for lunch. I remembered coming to Lord Morton's for a ladies' lunch with girl friends and we had a great time. I found this menu much more to my liking. The tea rooms is not licensed but you can buy a bottle of wine at the shop adjacent and they supply the glasses. It worked out very well. We have always had positive comments spoken when we have spoken to people who have experienced Lord Morton's Tea room Evening Events. So as a Christmas Event was announced my wife made a booking early in the year, a good job she had as Lord Morton's Tea Rooms was at full capacity Last night. We had a warm welcome from our host and glasses of Bubbly and canapés were provided which was very welcome. With everyone getting in the Christmas mood by singing carols it was a lovely start to our first Lord Morton experience. Once everyone had arrived we made our way to our table and had a lovely well presented meal served. As they do not have a website a phone call to them is how you will find out the planned events for 2017. We and our friends thoroughly enjoyed our 1st Lord Morton's Tea room experience. Old fashioned tea room but excellent service from local ladies waiting on table. Good food at reasonable prices. Cocktails and carols in the proprietor's home beforehand.

This small tea room is absolutely brimming with character and surpasses your expectations with the quality of the food produced. The two mature waitresses are excellent and one's coffee cup is never allowed to become empty before it is filled again. The full English breakfast is well cooked and presented with ample supplies of fresh toast accompanied by home made marmalade.A booking may well be needed as it can be very popular but it just cannot be equalled.

Called here for a quick light lunch as this place was recommended. We were warmly welcomed by a gentleman server on arrival, who was very friendly, attentive and really good with customers .Tastefully decorated “ornamental style” tea rooms. First of all we ordered cappuccino & pot of tea . Great selection of tempting dishes and snacks on menu but we ended up having ham carved local ham sandwiches with tomato/mustard. This came with accompanying salad on the plate & coleslaw –I had homemade chips as well. Great quality. At the end the gentleman server filled my cup up with some filter coffee that was available. A “great touch” & rate my experience here today as 5*

On our way to a weekend away with friends in Worcestershire we stopped for lunch here, just by chance passing it en route. It was so lovely to find just what we had been looking for - good food and good, friendly service in a lovely restaurant. We had a very yummy and relaxing lunch, and were all set for the final stage of our journey.

Excellent tea room with excellent food and plenty of it, and excellent service.Nicely decorated, very smart, the only thing missing is something playing the piano for lunches, afternoon teas and theme nights!

Who would have thought that this small shop/tea room would be so good. The tea room can accommodate about thirty people and is used by 'ladies who lunch' etc. There are various themed evenings throughout the year and at Christmas time it is booked up solid. The food is good and plentiful and mine host is very welcoming, humorous, and generous. A great place to go.

This is my second visit here but again we had a lovely time. We had a cream tea break and so Jan had a very good ham, egg and chips whereas I had a ploughman's lunch. I had a wedge of Brie and cheddar, pickled onions, salad with shredded carrot, onion and tomato, pickle and coleslaw, and finally brown bread. We had a refillable filter coffee. The selling point about the place is that it is small, beautifully decorated, calm, unhurried as well as excellent service. It is homely and intimate.

We went here to have the cream tea, which was superb, and our friends had a fish finger sandwich and scampi and chips. There is waitress service and the venue is an absolute delight with chandeliers in the tea room and in the toilet. The service was beyond reproach and very attentive. The food was excellent in all three choices with the cream tea being one of the very best we have come across.

We have been going to Lord Mortons for a few years now, always at Christmas and occasionally to other events during the years. Last night was true to form - a brilliant night! Drinks and carols by the open fire to begin, kick starting the festive mood! Everybody had huge smiles on their faces and the atmosphere was set. The meal to follow was lovely, three courses followed by cheese and biscuits, mince pies and port. Coffee and more shots ( Quantro and Amaretto) and by now the festive mood was electric. Lord Lee entertained us with his tap dancing ( very impressive) and sadly he had to leave early at 9 to go to a party, so we missed him coming round later with his big diary to book future dates! It feels quite disconcerting not to have a future night to look forward to. Hopefully one can be arranged soon. The night continued with more impromptu singing, ranging from Jingle Bells to California Dreamin' to Jerusalem!! We had brought some friends from Canada - what an introduction to an English Christmas!!! Lots of singing, laughter, fun, food, drinking and more singing! Thank you Lee for another brilliant night! Merry Christmas and a happy new year. Enjoy your break you deserve it!

Spent last night in the company of close friends, Lord Morton and his girls and new friends - what can I say - if you want a very special evening then this is the place to go. We were made to feel so special and nothing was too much trouble. Lord Mortons attitude to life itself is worth bottling and holding on to forever. He is an absolutely perfect host and entertainer. The food was second to none and the ambience perfect. Thank you Lord Morton and all who have anything to do with the tea rooms for a truly wonderful evening.

We booked this with a group of 10 friends on recommendation from others who have previously visited. We understand that the management has recently changed. We were warmly welcomed and everything was prepared. The food was excellent and the staff couldn't do enough for us. The price was good value and we are definitely planning to return. For a Christmas period it was very quiet, they deserve to do well and I hope they attract more custom.

Gone downhill over the last year or so. Card only and now looking to ban dogs. Atmosphere similar to a funeral. Soon they will ban laughing and only allow people with short blue hair in. Go woke, go broke.
