Great sports boozer, just what we were looking for!

Good pub, darts, pool and a pleasant beer garden with heating. Good atmosphere.

Watched a band called 'No Weddings ', they were great. Shame pub wasn't busy.

Nice venue in the middle of Southsea friendly bar staff good beer.

Good lively atmosphere, The staff were friendly and welcoming. Live music / DJ / Football at weekends.

Live music on Saturday plenty of choice of drinks. What's not to like?

Been in here many times the staff are brilliant and most of the live music i’ve attended has been phenomenal. The usual bar tender on my visits is Finlay who is outstanding for customer service.

Came in for some drinks & ended up having food and can I just say that it was brilliant! Marnie the chef was a star , Lewis was amazing and helpful, and ruby was very welcoming and always had a smile on her face! Will definitely be back again :) it was a very sunny day so I do feel for them all working in this heat just glad they got air-con :)

Absolutely terrible experience. Food delayed by 2 hours, employees mucking around with customers, plates very expensive considering how small they are, drinks app wasn't working but no signage and still allowed people to order. Toilets blocked and smell awful. I'd recommend anywhere else, you will probably get a better experience on all accounts. Oh and your employees think it's a social event. Good Luck

Absolutely shocking. Food was a disgrace and waited over an hour and half for it. Ordered a round of drinks through the app waited half hour, went up to ask where our drinks are and the bloke said 'the app doesn't work'. Happily took our money though. No apology whatsoever, no signs to say not to order on the app. 23 quid for 3 small plates and 2 sides, the word small is an understatement. Completely understaffed by 3 or 4 staff memberes. One staff member messing around with his friends in the pub while the football was on while there was people waiting at the bar, tables needed cleaning etc pointless him being there, also told my partner to calm down after complaining in a nice manner. Also a nice bit of mouldy lettuce on the plate but I can't see where to add a picture. It was abysmal at best.

Nice local pub, went here after taking our daughter to the theatre. Staff were lovely, but the food service was a bit slow. We had to wait 30 mins for food, which isn't ideal with a hungry baby.

I came in to The Lord John Russell today and the bar team members were very friendly including Zac and Cameron

Sorry but £15.00 for a roast , to be served in a bowl ! Looked like a dogs dinner , swimming in gravy. As for the beef was not from a freshly cooked roast , more like the frozen slices from Iceland! No one came to ask if my meal was OK, so unfortunately I returned the dinner to the bar , explained that the cutlery was dirty , and I cleaned myself with the table vinegar , ... and the food was not worth 15.00 . I had no apology from the staff. I won't be returning

I came to visit with my family as I heard good reviews however upon arrival I was greeted by a woman with brown hair and short she was extremely rude and clearly didn’t want to be there. She was very happy communicating with my boyfriend but wouldn’t even look me in the eye. She kept asking if he was okay but completely ignored me. She was clearly flirting with him to the point my boyfriend felt uncomfortable and wanted to leave. It’s a shame one person has let down the whole pub. I believe her name was Jordan or Janet. Don’t bother coming.

Went for Bottomless Brunch with my friends, we LOVED it! The staff is super friendly, the food is amazing and the cocktails are fabulous as well. Everything exceeded our expectations, we definitely will be coming back! :)

Lovely place especially on a sunday came for lunch it was perfect even down to the deserts and the bar man Jack served us perfectly , even had a help yourself to a blanket area loved this on a cold day, no complaints !

The food was excellent, jack the bartender was an absolute diamond, would 100% recommend for food and drinks.

Bar staff and Manager Jordan are lovely. Drinks and bar service are prompt and nice. But waited over 45mins for two small bowls of chips and some chicken wings. And they were missing elements from the menu description. Most of the menu wasn't available. And It looked like the chefs were sat in the garden drinking instead of working. Table next to us also waited over 45mins for chips. And the portions of chips are very very small for £5!!!....... would come back for a drinks. But definitely not food.

Amazing food prepared by head chef Jack. We had the beef roast roast and the festive macaroni cheese. Both really tasty and excellent service from all staff working.

This pub has transformed since the refurbishment! The team are friendly and proud of the change and that comes across! Food is good and service excellent, couldn’t ask for any more really!

Lovely atmosphere with great food and a large selection of drinks. Staff are always extremely friendly and will go the extra mile. Recently refurbed and it looks AMAZING! Cant wait for more visits. Extremely dog friendly too. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.
