Waited nearly 2 hours for our food, even though they were not busy. Most of the food came out cold even though we had waited so long for it? We then found mould inside our dessert! Would not recommend this place at all. -1/10

We went to three of these sweet places because they all looked so great. Not one of them dissapointed. Coffee here was good and while the selection of sweets was not as vast as some of the others on the street, we thought they were very good. Partial to anything chocolate of course.

Our driver recommended this place to us, we were looking for a place to have dessert and coffee. The location is good, but I was surprised when we entered that it was empty, 2 staff were only present, they were nice, the decoration is ok but , and they were playing nice arabic songs, we ordered arabic coffee, dates, and one red velvet cake piece, the coffee was average, it was brought to us in a thermos, the dates were not of a good quality and the cake was not impressive at all, and ended up paying a £51 !!

Came here by chance, after we drove past and saw a particular cake advertised in the window. We quickly found a parking space and walked back. We need not have bothered. Although advertised as 'Lotus Cake' it contained no Lotus paste or anything like that, instead apparently the Cake is named after the 'Lotus' Biscuit that they put on top of the Cake. There were 4 or 5 young waitresses behind the counter, too bad none of them could explain what was in the Cake. We then decided to have some other cake and it took 3 of the Waitresses quite some time to figure out how to assemble the cardboard boxes, designed to easily fold up for takeaways. It looked as if they had to do this for the first time. To top it up, I then was being presented with a hefty bill. Nice décor, but highly overpriced and inexperienced waiting staff, although I must say that they were friendly and tried their best. They just did not succeed.

I don't take issue with the food (3/5) just the prices and the service which is simply not on par with what you expect considering the location and what they charge.I think they've come to rely on a steady stream of wealthy middle eastern clients who think location and decor are what matter. The staff at the smaller branch were quite nice to be fair.As a seasoned Londer i can sense these things. They have a target clientele and others fall by the wayside.Their events bookings were frankly all over the place and didn't seem to have fixed prices so we cancelled. This place could be great if they just took the effort to LISTEN to the reviews, reduce prices and show professionalism with ALL clients not just the ones they deem naive and wealthy.

We walked a few doors dow, then I said we needed to experience this little tea room as it was so special looking. The waiter gave us a table right away and I explained that we were just going to have drinks and he was very pleasant about it all. My daughter ordered a mint tea in a clear pot with tons of beautiful mint leaves and I ordered a cappuccino which was delicious. We sat and enjoyed the ambiance of the place and during our entire time there, not one single customer came in and we ended up having the whole place to ourselves which was so rare in London but what a special experience for us both!Maybe it would be different service wise and quality wise if we came for dinner etc. but our short time there was lovely!

My partner and I fancied coffee and cake so popped in. The service was dreadfully slow we were totally forgotten about and there were three staff and not many more customers. So I went to the counter to order, when the order arrived it was awful. The coffee was bitter and the profiteroles were so sickly sweet they were inedible when they eventually arrived. I had walked past here a few times and assumed the posh looking L'Opera was a Mediterranian restaurant and as we were staying in a nearby hotel we walked around the corner for dinner. It was raining and we did not want to go far. It was cold inside this fairly large restaurant and we were shown to a window seat and given a menu.I asked for drinks and, to my surprise, we were told that they didn't serve alcohol. I then realised that we had walked in to an Islamic restaurant - and not of the liberal or cosmopolitan kind. I ordered a lamb dish with french fries, my wife ordered a chicken dish with rice that came with a garlic sauce (according to the menu).I got the lamb dish with rice! My wife got the chicken dish with chips! and hot chili sauce!I scooped my rice in to some spare bowls I found, transferred the chips to my plate and gave the rice to my wife. The waiter approached and asked if we liked our food. I grunted as I believe they deliberately messed the simple order up.Both dishes were merely luke warm, approaching cold. They seemed as if they had possibly been prepared hours earlier. They lacked any warmth or any real flavour. In fact we cannot remember having a worse meal anywhere, but we were cold and hungry and wished we had stayed in our really nice hotel around the corner to eat again. We ate most of it, whilst sipping some water. L'Opera is not a cheap place, but miserable in the extreme. We will never, ever return. I reluctantly put £35 on a spare plate and handed it to our waiter on the way out. I did not ask for or wait for a bill and believe that sum just about covered what we had ordered.Give the place a swerve unless you like expensive cold food and do not drink beer, wine or liqueur coffee. My mistake in visiting here is your good fortune - forewarned is forearmed.

The girls wanted to stop for a spot of tea, so we went into this nicely adorned spot and got a nice seat close to the window. Our server was friendly and cheerfully offered us a food menu, but since it was mid afternoon we just had warm refreshment. My wife had strawberry and my daughter had green peppermint tea. I had what could easily be one of the best warm drinks I ever had. You must try a honey ginger with steamed milk. Yum, yum, yum!!!!

Pranzo "veloce", mini buffet.

Nice interior and atmosphere but my experience with the desserts wasn't good. The chocolate cake was very basic like those packaged ones. Tea and coffee were ok

I have been there with my family. We wanted to have some rest after have visited the Albert museum. The area is full of posh places so we decided to stop there even if usually we don't go in this kind of places. We initially ordered a coffee but then we changed our mind and we told to the waitress if it was possible to have the coffees after the food. She said yes but then she brought the food and the coffees together saying that it was to late. The food was very good even if the portions were a bit small. The waitress were very serious and not so friendly. Overall it was OK.

No menu which was unusual, located just opposite the Brompton Oratory, great view when weddings are taking place. 8 or more main meals ready to serve, fresh/homemade with two sides for a very reasonable amount ! Quick service as meals just need dishing up. Freshly squeezed juice avaliable as part of set menu. Very French chic atmosphere!

We went into L'Opera because we had just been choosing furniture at the shop next door. Wish we hadn't. Very expensive and appears to cater for the tastes of Middle Eastern clientele who slowly filled up the cafe and by the time we left there was a bouncer on the door. We had a very uncomfortable feeling eating there.

I am English and have never been made unwelcome here, there are a mix of customers including many European. There is a Door Man (not bouncer, this is not a night club) in the evening as it gets very busy. He is very welcoming as are the owners and staff, whilst they try their hardest to fit you in, if they are full they can not perform miracles. There is a wide selection of hot and cold food the price depends on what you ask for, at no time have I ever known them to hide it, you only have to ask. It is not over priced for the quality of food and the service you receive.

Let me make this easy for you; On arrival you will be faced with a huge bouncer on the door and the owner usually sitting outside next to him. The bouncer will ask if you've made a reservation and if your answer is 'no' he will look to the owner who will simply nod his head for you to be granted access (at his own desecration)- in all my life I never have I felt so uninvited or that my fate lied in a strangers hands. The waiting staff are friendly however almost immediately you will notice the place is swamped with Arabs and when you are shown to your seat the next surprise will be that there aren't ANY prices on the menus which is completely against the law.You will also notice some beautifully places sweets on the table- DO NOT TOUCH THEM or be fooled into thinking they're complimentary unless you are willing to pay around £50 for the whole platter. When my friends and I were there, one of them accidentally knocked one of the tea glasses off the table. The staff made such a fuss over it and did not reassure my friend that it was fine nor replace her drink despite her embarrassment. We reordered another and discovered they still charged us for the one which wasn't even drunk. Upon leaving we did not feel like we were valued customers nor that we would be invited back again. Save yourself your money and the varying bill (which they just make up based on your nationality) and head over to Harrods where your treated like a valued customer.

The location is excellent, so if you are visiting the V&A or shopping around the Knightsbridge / South Kensington area, it's worth a visit. The food is great and the service as well - it's just typical of the area where you'll pay more as a result for the same quality that you would find elsewhere in London.

Why bother going to a coffee house which has ousted a great restaurant in this area. It seems the ME influence has sparked a host of coffee shops which normally could not support the rent. One can only assume they are ''fronting'' for some other purpose. Please avoid these dreadful outlets and put this famous part of London back to what it was.

My fiance and I visited on Saturday whilst waiting to go to the Alexander McQueen exhibit at the V&A. It was raining outside so wanted somewhere to dive into, there's a lot of places to eat and drink nearby, but none so welcoming as L'Opera! We both loved the interior, the seats were comfy, it was warm and cozy inside. The staff were very friendly, professional and made us feel welcome. We only had a drink and some Turkish delight but it was delicious! When we paid we were surprised at how cheap it was for the area and the Turkish delight was complimentary! What a lovely surprise. I would definitely recommend to everyone and will be visting again.

Picture this, after a really nice & very warm stroll from Kensington palace,we were walking past some very attractive eating establishments. And as it was coming up to 14.00 and we saw that there were some tables & chairs outside L'Opera in Brompton road,so the chance of a refreshing pot of tea looked appealing. After taking our seats we were attended to by a very charming young waitress, along with our drink we were pointed towards some lovely tasting cake, and an home made fresh fruit salad. And we offered numerous tasty topping to add to the taste of the fruit salad.Added to the attraction was chance to see & hear some really nice motor cars going up & down the road,it was just the sort of summer's day to be going alfresco.Summing up,very tasty breakfast tea,(although other flavours were on offer),and the fruit salad was so refreshing on such a warm day.(the best I have ever seen & tasted).!Our waitress was so pleasant, and could not do enough to make our visit as enjoyable as possible.Prices were reasonable, and were displayed on the menu for full information.Inside the decor was very pleasing and in keeping the with theme of the establishment. The toilets were located downstairs & were very clean and impressive.10/10.
