Nuevo nombre.

Popped in after visiting Harrods, it's very close by. The restaurant was very friendly and helpful, and the food great and good value. My niece was tired and tamtrummy, the waitress gave her a few baklava and it cheered/quietened her straight away! A big thumbs up from us all.

The quality of food was good. Everything tastes fresh and homemade. The price is on average and the furniture is all right. The service was fine, just a bit of lack of ambient / positivity in the atmosphere. We had 5 starters, 2 mains, 2 bottles of sparkly water for ~70£. The portions were enough for 3 persons.

Imagine going to a Lebanese restaurant, ordering tabboule and not being able to have it without bourgoul. It means it’s already mixed. That’s a shame cause any type of salad should bemixed upon order and not before. Don’t call yourself a Lebanese restaurant please. This restaurant felt truly eerie at 7:30pm on a Saturday night. We were seated by the front window as a sign perhaps that there were occupants to all that drove by. The room is white and tablecloths white with pink carnations, it felt a little like a stage set. The food was not inspired, rice was extra as was yoghurt. During the meal the three men in the room decided it was time to sort and put away the cutlery ! The experience was sad and we will not go back.

We wandered past here on our way to a very disappointing pub but we noticed that Beiteddine was full of Patrons from the Middle East region, so we thought that was probably a sign of good food. We were right. The Hummus was to die for and every dish was delicious. Ours were all lamb based, which is not a meat I eat generally, but I believe I am a convert. Yummy. We were given a plate of a milk based custard and other delicacies for dessert and they were soooo good.

Very disappointing and in fact quite shocking due to our treatment by the manager. Having made an online reservation quoting tastecard we entered and were told we can't use tastecard for an online booking. We were Happy to leave but after much discussion we were given the discount (in an empty restaurant at 545pm). We ordered our food and had to request a drinks menu as this was not offered. The food came and my 'mixed veg' was cubed carrots, peas and cauliflower: clearly a frozen mix: very disappointing for what usually costs £4.95. At no stage were we asked how our meal was. When the bill came, £5.80 had been added for service (15%). Given the poor service I put down half (I will happily tip good service, but not poor). The manager queried this and I attempted to explain why. At which point the owner walked over and was very rude and threatening to me and my husband. He would not listen to our calmly put complaints and strongarmed us into paying the full price. He was very intimidating and I was quite shaken to be treated so rudely. Especially for a high priced establishment in Knightsbridge. I did not enjoy the experience and was very disappointed by the complete lack of respect for the customer.

Simply awful. Food: Re-heated frozen veg served in bowl for £4.50. Cubed Lamb was good but sparse. It came with a small triangle of pitta bread with tomato puree smeared over. The minced lamb skewers were tiny. It came with a white pitta bread out of a supermarket packet. Both cost nearly £17 each. Service: Gave food order....no drinks. Had to ask for a drinks menu. No-one checked if food was ok. 15% service charge. When we said we would pay half of it the owner waded in using his large frame in an aggressive manner to demand the money. When we questioned the service further he became more aggressive. If you book using taste card - don't do it online. They don't tell you but you have to phone. It was made very clear that they were doing us a favour by letting us eat at their empty restaurant. Summary: Avoid at all costs. Being located in Knightsbridge does not justify such high prices for such sloppy supermarket food and awful service.

The restaurant was not too crowded, no need to wait to get a table. Usually, in Lebanese or Arabic restaurants in the States, the portions are too big for me that it doesn't matter how delicious the food is, I always feel too full at the end, but the portions at Beiteddine were just perfect. Booked the restaurant via the Gourmet Society app, rang and confirmed. Arrived shortly afterwards and again mentioned the card which we were assured was okay. The restaurant was empty but even so, we were made to feel like we were inconveniencing the waiter somehow. Having disturbed the waiter busy reading a paper at the bar, we ordered. The food arrived and was nice. Nothing exceptional, just nice. We enjoyed the meal and asked for the bill. The bill arrived with an extra £26.50 added as a 'Service Charge'. I explained to the waiter that whilst we had enjoyed the meal, I was not happy to pay a service charge that we were not told about. He said it was on the website. I showed him that it wasn't. He denied it was their website(!?) and went to get the manager. The manager arrived and again I explained that whilst it was a nice meal, we were not happy to pay a service charge of £26.50. He told me it was compulsory and on the website, again I said it wasn't. He then said it was on the Gourmet Society website, again I told him it wasn't. The manager then said "You cannot expect to get a discount off the bill and not pay some sort of service charge!” I explained that this is not how it worked. A service charge not made clear to be compulsory on the menu, or verbally, BEFORE ordering is not compulsory in the slightest. Even then it is disputable if the service is not up to scratch. After as much polite disagreement as I could muster, we paid the bill minus the service charge and left. Oh, and that was after we had our card -literally- thrown back at us at the table. Poor service all round and no I would not recommend it. A kebab shop would provide a better balance of food and service.

We arrived to an empty restaurant and were met at the door. On asking if we could use our Gourmet card we were grudgingly allowed in. We were eventually asked for our order although nothing happens quickly in this restaurant. We ate our meal and drank our 1 glass of wine each which was then whipped away before we could ask for more. Anyway the food was ok but not much different to a £5 kebab from the local takeaway. We decided to leave, so paid the extortionate bill which included a cover charge and an £11 tip. Fortunately we just decided to pay it and leave so didnt suffer the same as others on here. Wish we'd read these comments on here first.Wont be going back. AVOID.

My wife and I really enjoy Lebanese food on our visits to London. We just haven't found it as good in the States. Beiteddine was really terrific. We often stay at a hotel in nearby Knightsbridge and happened into Beiteddine late on after a concert at the Royal Albert Hall. We were hungry and would have settled for a lesser meal but we were treated to friendly and attentive service and some really flavorful and tasty food. All the basics here with great hummus, salads, lamb. All really well prepared and fresh. Any negative reviews all seem to relate to the failure to honor discounts and don't be deterred as our experience was our top London Lebanese and we've been to five different ones.

At the time of booking the restaurant confirmed The Times discount of 25% on food and wine.On arrival the restaurant denied all knowlege of The Times discount scheme. We argued. The manager then said it didn't apply because we hadn't told them about it at the time of booking. We argued. They then grudgingly seemed to accept it.The service was perfunctory and rushed, bordering on rude. The restaurant was not busy. They just didn't seem to care. The food was fine, but the two main courses (total £36, billed as six skewers) arrived as a few small cubes of meat on one plate hidden under salad and bread, with the starters and looked like half portions. The bill arrived and only applied the discount to the food. (The Times deal is 25% off food and wine, or 50% off just the food). The service charge added was not discretionary, was 15% and was applied to the undiscounted prices: for the aggressive service we received. There was also a cover charge (something I've not seen for years). At this stage we didn't bother arguing: it was late, the restaurant staff had a pushy air about them and we were keen to just get out.We spent £45/head. Afterwards we could not reconcile this to what we had ordered.Overall we got the strong impression we were not welcome and only tolerated because they could load-up the bill with all the extra charges. I expect most of the customers are from the local hotels and know no better.

I went to this restaurant Friday, 4th October 2013 with my friend after work in the evening. Since we both have taste cards, we crossed checked both online & by calling the restaurant directly about the advertised ,50% off the total bill. The restaurant confirmed that was fine. We went in the restaurant, the welcome greeting from the waiter was very poor. So we sat down and thought to ourselves lets just give the food a try before final judgement. The restaurant was not busy, they made us wait almost 20 minutes before coming over to take drink and starters orders. While sat down and waiting for waiter to acknowledge us as customers, he was instead welcoming new customers that were Lebanese by origin. This is when we realised the change of character, he was much more friendly with them, they food and drinks came before ours and we were just ignored. Ounce the food came it was average, starters were not warm enough and main course lamb was over cooked and chicken sharwama was plain. We definitely were not impressed. Then at the end we got the bill which was high, we questioned him about the 50% off, he argued that he already done it. This was a lie, me and my friend paid £21 each for what should have been 14 each maximum. we felt completely cheated. So my advise is don,t go to that restaurant unless you are Lebanese by origin. West experience ever.Emma from Knightsbridge

We tend to be foodie snobs, but we would go back to Beiteddine in a heartbeat and have even started eating more Lebanese food after returning to the US.

Others have also commented. The restaurant was fairly empty, with two or three tables, and yet the service was really slow. Also, avoid the house wine; hang over the next day.Not sure we will be going back.

I'm not sure why this elegant little place, located just off Sloan Street, does not show up at the top of the list of Lebanese restaurants in London. The menu has all the expected goodies and each dish is carefully prepared, including some unusually soft batrakh with wonderful garlic and excellent sausages (makanek). The service is friendly and attentive although, funnily, the waiter at first told us that the raw lamb specialities on the menu were no longer available; when he learned that where we come from dishes with raw meat also exist he agreed to have one made special for us. I'm not sure what the true story is - maybe he thought we did not know what we were ordering at first and to avoid embarrassment told us a little white lie. (I notice, however, that their website no longer shows these dishes so maybe they are indeed off the menu.) At any rate the raw lamb was excellent, as is the pita bread. (I can do without the other bread they bring to the table, a sort of bap with seeds on top which is too heavy for the food in my opinion.) We had some excellent arak with the food - much better than wine! Nicely laid tables, subtle decor, mournful Arab music in the background.

Went with a group of friends to try out the 50% offer on a Monday evening. The restaurant was empty and there was no background music being played. The starter took 30 minutes to arrive and the main a further 40 (which is astounding baring in mind there were no other customers in the restaurant). The food was lukewarm, the lamb overcooked and the chicken wings burnt.Waiters were rude and very short giving you the feeling that you were inconveniencing them when asking for an extra drink or plate. After inquiring about the bill the waiter took offence and started making condescending comments. Overall, we did not feel welcome and it was one of my worst dining experiences.Very poor. Will not return and would not recommend.

Cold uneatable meat and very few pieces. The only thing that was eatable was the hummos which only came with one small piece of bread which was already hard from one side. For the price range, this restaurant should provide better food.

Been prompted to leave this review, after walking past the restaurant the other day and reminding myself of the terrible experience I had there last year.....which has echos of Edirok's expecience. My boyfriend and I went there when it was participating in Taste card promotion of 50% off food.We went on a sat pm and were the only people in the restaurant. The food was fine, and when the bill arrived we had spent £26.50 incl drinks, and a £7.50 tip had been added (based on 15% of the full bill before the taste discount had been applied). We thought a £7.50 tip a bit excessive and left £30 on the table. As we got up to leave the waitor then stood over the door to prevent us leaving while the other waitor told us we either had to pay the extra £4 or pay the full amount without the taste discount . We told them that a service charge isn't mandatory, and them preventing us leaving certainly wasn't enticing us to pay extra tip! They refused to let us leave so we phoned the police. The police were on there way when we managed to slip out, but not before they had tried to prevent me leaving by one of the waiters trying to restrain me with his arm and then the running after us down the street trying to take photos of us.I'm astounded that this restaurant is allowed to continue trading - do not visit - there is a good reason why it is almost always empty.

The biggest nightmare of my life was the 40 minutes that I and my brother spent at that "restaurant". We went on a bank holiday Friday at lunch time. Other than us there was no other customer in that place. Once somebody came in to use the toilet. This should have been the first sign that at London's one of the most busiest places they have an empty restaurant. Firstly the starter was tasteless soup and you can buy it in the shop hummous. The main course, was for me, kebab chicken and chips and for my brother half grilled chicken and rice. (the almost half chicken cost almost £15 and the rice you had to buy separately). The chips were the cheapest you could buy in any supermarket and drowned in oil. The kebab chicken tasted like lamb. When I said to the manager this tastes like lamb he pulled a face and said it does not. My brother tried it and said "live it there it tastes bad, like its out of date". I have left 90% of the food on my plate the guy took it without asking or saying anything. My brothers almost £15 chicken was dryer than paper. At one point he almost choked on it. He left 70% of the food on his plate. The rice was ok. Then I said we want the bill but I am not willing to pay the 15% service charge for the atrocious food and the bad and rude service. Well, all hell broke loose and the guy started to shout at me that it is compulsory and I didn't even order anything, because 2 starters and 2 mains are not enough food to order and I will not be able to leave this restaurant until I payed the service charge. He screamed at me for about 6 minutes at which point I said just give me the bill I pay it and let me get out of this hellhole. When we left not even a nod from him and I turned around and said " This is why your restaurant is completely empty." He started shouting again and was still shouting after us while we were walking away on the street. At home during the night I was sick as a dog with food poisoning. Please I am begging everybody to avoid this place even if they give away the food for free. Which they should to the dogs. I only gave it one star because I could not give it zero.

We both went for the set meal - it was tasty and served very quickly. Ideal for a lunch break restaurant. We sat outside - so was pleasant in the sun.Considering it is in Mayfair it wasn't overpriced.

Perhaps a bit lacking in atmosphere, but sometimes a restaurant being on the quiet side isn't actually such a bad thing. I thought the quality of the food was pretty good - many of the dishes were on a par with my favourite Lebanese restaurant in London (Noura in Belgravia). I particularly enjoyed the foul medames and the falafel. The food seemed slightly cheaper than some of the other Middle Eastern restaurants in the immediate vicinity, although perhaps the drinks were a little on the dear side.

Went there with my partner and a friend today for lunch. The waiter (who had a hard time understanding English) was very nice the whole time. The menu is immensely long and the choice is not always guaranty...We shared three starters to try different things and they were extremely good. Nothing to complain about. For the main course I ordered some lamb fillet but have been told there was non and asked for the cutlets instead. The others went for the "boneless" chicken as the normal one wasn't available either. Both meat were overcooked and pretty dry what was a shame, but the lamb was at least tasty-ish whereas the chicken was bland from what my partner said..Toilets were clean, but be careful in the gents, once you manage to close the door, you have to really pull extra hard to get it open once again...

Beiteddine Express in Mayfair, might be related to the Beiteddine Restaurant. Looking for a quick bite, strolled over. For 8GBP I got a wrap, salad and diet coke. Didn't have the highest expectations. Had the potato wrap (can't remember the actual name). Was good, no good surprises that would have tipped it into the very good category. I'll likely be back, because it was cheap, quick and food was alright.

Very nice and attractive, famous area, very expensive but marvellous. The atmosphere is greater than any place in London. Wonderful set up and decorations. I highly recommend Joury Knightsbridge to everyone.

Pasta dish undercooked (returned), wine not chilled, no bread offered, no Parmesan offered for the pasta, the food was good but overall a poor experience for an expensive (over priced restaurant).
