Longparke Farmshop and Cafe in Dundee City

Have to admit we would not normally stop here, it's clearly designed for the "ladies who lunch" we had been gifted a voucher so tried it for lunch, which was OK but not very well seasoned and they had one of those trendy pepper grinders which require "krypton factor" skills to operate. That said the service was spot on and the room very trendy, however I found the chairs quite uncomfortable. That said it was very busy (see title) and I would reccomed booking, our £30 voucher covered all but 80p of lunch with 2 drinks, I would say OK for a coffee on the way up north...

As a party of 6 staying at the neighbouring lodge we were recommend to visit for breakfast. We went twice over the course of weekend. First day was Saturday morning for breakfast, all orders lovely. As a lovely day we chose to stay longer and sat outside in the sun. On return to counter to purchase more drinks for outside we were rudely approached and asked if we were planing to settle our breakfast table We did this prior to moving outdoors. It was paid. Assuming an error we returned on Sunday morning as food was lovely day before. We arrived at 10.15am but had not reserved. Looking around restaurant it was 20% full. We were met by a staff member who said they had no availability despite 80% of tables free. I said we’d be very quick, in and out as travelling home. The manager then arrived also stating they couldn’t accommodate us due to reservations in place. I then advised we were guests of the lodge and they managed to find us a corner to squeeze in to. The manager was so unwelcoming as though we really put her out. As per Saturday the food was lovely and we all enjoyed our breakfast The negative customer experience was all so unnecessary. Over the weekend we spent nearly £200 in the venue. When we left it was approx 50% full and no one at all additional to our party sat in area we were shunned to the 45mins we were there. Such a lovely place, lovely food, but really made to feel unwelcome.

Dreadful service from staff who did not want to there! Everything was too much trouble and requests were met with a surly silence. Four drinks and four scones took 7 trips over 20 minutes to fulfil and multiple requests to bring all the items that had been missed or forgotten. Two of the coffees had to go back as they had the colour and flavour of dishwater. However, that did mean that they were still hot when the scones eventually arrived! We will not be returning.

Second visit in a few days to have a snack lunch. Service quickly organised though the place was busy . Good food and lovely coffee.

Very busy on arrival. A truly lovely waitress greeted us and made us feel right at home. Spicy carrot & Coriander soup at potential, tasty lovely but could have been hotter. The Minute steak wrap was heavenly, packed with steak , lovely oh the pallet Finished off with a nice Raspberry & coconut cake. Excellent stuff .

Visited for preordered afternoon tea. We were very warmly welcomed by our waitress who could not do more for us. Unlimited tea and coffee and asked to choose 2 sandwich fillings each, so everyone got what their preference was. Warm sausage rolls, large light and fluffy scones, and a traybake, a slice of Bakewell tart and the most enormous strawberry tart. We couldn’t finish it all, but were offered a goody box each to take away what we couldn’t manage. All for a very reasonable cost. Delightful experience and one of the best afternoon teas I have had.

Went for breakfast with my wife and son. All three of us chose to have a full Scottish breakfast, and we all had different drinks. The service and hot drinks were good but unfortunately the food wasn't. The sausage was awful, the bacon very salty and the black pudding dried out. Egg, toast and beans were fine. In hindsight, should have complained but have chosen not to go back. In the past it has always been good, apart from a few months ago which we took to be a one off. Unfortunately not the case.

First time here . Found via Google maps . Had an excellent lunch . Very speedy service which is good when travelling on a long journey as we were. Will definitely be back .

We met up with some friends for a catch-up. It was a brilliant venue on quite a stormy day! We sat on comfy sofas by the fire so were really cosy. We had coffee and scones (which were huge!). The staff were lovely and very efficient. The cooked food looked great so, hopefully, we will return for a meal when we are back in the area. There is also a really nice shop which sells a variety of gifts and foodstuffs.

Booked Longparke for a birthday party and I can’t thank Chris and the team enough for the support and help they gave me to get the party organised. The buffet food was amazing and great value. The staff were bubbly helpful and professional. Wouldn’t think twice about booking again.

Eggs Hebridean was brilliant, coffee too exceptional - speedy polite friendly service. One waitress commented on liking my sons Foo Fighters t-shirt (he is only 3!) he was very happy with this! Will return soon - keep up the good work

Had lovely birthday lunch with my friend .. we were shown to out table and promptly served drinks .. food order was taken and food arrived quickly even tho it was very busy, and was hot very tasty . After our lunch we were offered comfy chairs if we wanted to move to enjoy our coffee . A lovely place to spend a cold rainy afternoon .. thanks for the great service .

Nice place for breakfast and lunches, has a nice gift shop as well. Food is very good and service is first class. Only fault I had was that on the two occasions i visited the restaurant was cold, they leave the patio doors open which causes a chilly wind to blow through the seating area.

Booked a table for brunch and, as always, had a lovely experience! We were shown to our seats right away and the waitress was lovely, very prompt and accommodating. The host brought over colouring pencils for the kids menu for our daughter which we found very thoughtful. Food arrived promptly and was lovely, as were the coffees. The kids portions were a very good size, well worth the money. The Scottish breakfasts were a little bit more expensive than I would’ve preferred to pay for the portion size but very tasty and all in all, a great visit.

Exceptionally let down , ordered two full Scottish breakfasts both came out just lukewarm obviously had been sat about , my wife sent it back came out again still lukewarm

Went here with our daughter as she wanted to treat my husband for a birthday breakfast. We’ve been before so we were looking forward to it. Sadly it was the worse breakfast we have ever had. The poached eggs were hard and tasted strongly of vinegar, the bacon was very dry and tasted odd. My husbands full scottish was again lacking. The sausage was tasteless, the bacon again dry and only half a mushroom! When someone approached us and asked if all was well, we told him of the issues and he did offer to make more eggs but we were needing to get off. As they cleared our plates they could see that food was left and I was most disappointed that when my daughter went to pay, no discount was offered. We will not go back again for breakfast, maybe just a coffee.

The food was very nice, so it seems a real pity to be complaining, but this is not the first time I've felt let down by the mediocre service here. No-one on the welcome desk. Shown to table, then eventually .... someone arrives to take order. I have seen this guy come out of kitchen, go back in, stand around looking vacant, and then being nudged into taking our order. Meanwhile a "terribly terribly busy" woman is vigorously wiping tables as though her life depended on it. The place was half empty, she was hardly overworked. Anyway, no complaints at all about the food, even if on the slightly expensive side. Not one single person in the entire place acted as if they could be bothered with us, or even cared slightly whether we enjoyed our food or not. So offhand that you have to wonder why they are in the hospitality business at all. Only the quality of the food saves this place.

Waited ages for an answer as to whether we could be seated or not! Shown to a very awkwardly placed table! Given wrong information about food. 45 minute wait for Terrible food! Not so much filled (and not freshly baked) baked potatoes, but very slightly garnished. Not justifiable for £8.50!!! Terrible attitude from ‘manager’!?? Was told the (in their words) ‘unsatisfactory meals’ would be taken off the bill and that we could have another free round of drinks as our drinks had gone cold as we waited for food, then we had to ask again to have them taken off the bill as they were going to charge for them!! Overpriced and very mediocre food just not worth the money being charged! Overstaffed and pretentious establishment to say the least! Staff standing around inc manager looked like they’d never had a days training between them! Staff were not knowledgeable at all! This establishment taking advantage of the fact that they’re the only place like this for miles is really unfair for their standards, where paying customers are being seen off! We Will never be back! Really spoiled our day!

Food is good although on the higher end of what I'd pay and what I'd say it's worth. Service is really shocking, I've been a few times and never had good service. On this occasion we had to ask the waiting staff to come and take our order after waiting for over 20 minutes (not even a drink order was taken), and seeing people that had come in after us, being served. Not a single member of staff was welcoming. Really puts a dampener on the dining experience here.

Breakfast at Longparke Sat 19th Aug Arrived at 10am, not particularly busy, shown to table straight away, 10 mins before order taken, 2 breakfasts £12 each & 2 teas £4.75 ordered, we were eventually served our breakfast 40 mins later, looked lovely, unfortunately all the food was luke warm at best 🙈 we asked the waitress politely to blast in microwave (as both starving by now) No apology offered at this point, but she did take back to kitchen, Another 15 mins past, still no sign of our breakfast, the waitress clearly avoiding our table, So we eventually gave up & went to till, we asked to pay for our teas & told the lady what had happened with breakfast, (again no apology offered) she just said oh ok just £4.75 for the teas then 😳 Needless to say we won’t be back! Such a shame as it’s a lovely place, & I have had a good experience before but today what a let down, customer service shocking!! 😡

Food was decent but service was really poor and we waited nearly an hour which is a joke considering the place was half empty and we only ordered pancakes and a children's breakfast. Shame there is also no chocolate sauce anymore cos there wasn't enough syrup especially for the price.

After my first visit to longparke, after it being recommended to me, myself and friends where not disappointed, from the moment we arrived Chris(manager I think) looked after us, we where seated handed menus and told the specials, I would say an asset to the cafe! He told us our waitress was Lynsey and she was also very nice, food was good place is lovely. After our visit we would highly recommend and will be back! Thanks to Chris! P.s we will look out for your comedy night! Only thing I would say is give the place a little paint 😃

Went for breakfast with friends started off having to wait 40 minutes for our meal my wife asked for well done bacon and soft fried eggs with toast on the side … when it was eventually served the bacon wasn’t cooked properly and was send back … the photo below is what my wife received and was presented to her by THE MANAGER absolutely disgusting ! to think that he thought it was edible was even worse ! our friends poached eggs where over cooked and the other had egg shell in her scrambled eggs ….. will certainly be not be going back !
