Longhorsley Village Shop in Northumberland

On our first visit to Northumberland and the village shop was perfect 👌 Everyday essentials, lovely coffee and sandwiches to set you up for the day. Highly recommend 👍

Local village store selling groceries and fresh made food, sandwiches, pastries and very good coffee. Guys behind the counter were friendly, prices very reasonable, my sausage roll was good but coffee was great 💯

Great coffee and hot food to take away or sit nearby if the weather is good. Also good for any last minute food or household supplies you might need. Take care about the opening hours however.

Small place with a few car parking spaces in the road. The lass serving was super enthusiastic and genuinely interested in the food. It made me buy more than I need, great stuff. Food was high quality and varied. Great little place I will return to. Plenty of nice cakes and pies. Keep up the great work.

Canny gaff. Only writing this for advice. Sandwich was nice. But I bought 3 pastries and when I got to the car noticed they were stone cold and more than likely defrosted. If you’re going to serve frozen pastries at least have them relatively warm or offer to heat them up. I don’t want to pay £7 on food that is meant to be served warm. Other than that staff are lovely and the service was great.

We love this village shop. Always well stocked and has most things you are likely to need. Dog friendly as well. Do great hot and cold sandwiches with lots of choice. Great flavour coffee made fresh. The new burger nights they have been doing are fantastic, good meat with great flavours. Vegetarian option also delicious. All the staff are helpful and friendly. Would recommend the shop to all in the village or those just passing through.

Had a great breakfast sandwich this morning with my friend from the little shop in Longhorsley I'd thoroughly recommend this place the staff are lovely and it's a very welcoming shop with a great selection of hot and cold food, outside seating would highly recommend definitely be back.

Dropped in on my way from Coldstream to Newcastle for lunch, huge selection of baked goodies, bought a sausage roll and a steak pie which were both fresh and delicious, will be back!

Nice little village shop selling all your staple foodstuffs. Sandwiches and hot nibbles/drinks available. I was a bit disappointed there were no gifty things, trinkets, cards, pictures, books about the local area etc on sale here. It is a small shop but even a shelf in the corner would have done. Still, it's a lovely village to visit and a couple of good geocaches close by as well.

Lovely little shop, lovely helpful staff. They have a large selection of goods at reasonable prices. Hot sandwiches are beautiful and you are always greeted with a smile which makes a huge difference.

Really nice coffee with full fat milk too! Lovely breakfast sandwiches hand delivered to your parked car... excellent.

Easily overlooked, but you'll regret it if you do. Their coffee and food is amazing and the staff are always very welcoming.

Great village shop, best espresso in three weeks of UK holiday, super nice team, if I had been on holiday in Longhorsley I would have shopped here more often. Confused were just passing through. There is an allergen list for all items in the shop, and that in the village laben, hats off!

We found the village shop by accident and had such a great time. Delicious English breakfast served by a lovely and heartwarming team. It was our first stop coming from the Newcastle ferry and it gave us a warm welcome! Also the coffee was really good and exceeded my expectation! 10/10

Went every morning for a week for my morning newspaper, and occasionally bought provisions as well. They do hot pastries, sandwiches and drinks which looked good, and it was busy around lunchtime. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Found this shop by chance as i drove through Longhorsley on Sunday morning. Didn't have any plans other than get a cold drink but was pleasantly surprised to find it selling freshly made hot sandwiches and hot drinks. There was a good range of essential goods, milk etc and a large choice of savoury pies and pasties etc. Not having a sweet tooth i failed to notice if there were cakes etc available. The young lady who served was friendly and efficient in preparation of my order. By this time i had decided on a cold drink and 2 coffees. A bite size snack was also purchased for the dogs. The shop is clean, organised and well presented with what can only be described as an excellent range of breads, and savoury snacks. It was good to see value for money quality produce available in a village shop.

Just stopped to grab some lunch heading to Newcastle from near Wooler and what a lovely shop! I really enjoyed my flat white, chicken and stuffing sandwich and fruit flapjack and my husband also really enjoyed his Brekkie wrap and chocolate flapjack. Excellent value for money, very pleasant service and a genuinely nice shop stocking lots of essentials. Will absolutely be back when I'm passing through again.

Stopped for breakfast when travelling deep into Northumberland. Coffee and bacon sandwiches were good as was the pasty and cake I bought for lunch. The shop is well stocked with essentials and what it sells is higher quality so the prices reflect that.

Seriously good artisan coffee (north-shore) & one of the best sausage & egg sandwiches I’ve ever had full of flavour not preheated all, not to mention the sweet treats 🥰 it’s also nice too see this shop start doing more organic/local produce than the happy shopper items. I will back again tomorrow. So nice to have this on our doorstep of our holiday home rather than travelling to Rothbury or Morpeth every time.

Pastries are all fresh. Bought mince pies, steak pies and sausage rolls. Absolutely fabulous. Will definitely go there again when in the area.

Exceĺlent sandwiches and homemade cakes & traybakes. Good value. We had our picnic on the adjacent green where there were plenty of benches. Also a couple of picnic benches on harstanding outside shop. Lovely historic village.

Very tasty bacon sandwich, the bacon and bun were top quality and plenty of it. Also had a ham salad sandwich which again was full of quality ingredients, and 2 corned beef bites which were absolutely delicious! A very happy and satisfied customer and will definitely be back when I pass through.

Great little local shop with plenty of provisions such as newspapers, milk and eggs. The pies and cakes are very nice. Sandwiches are very slightly pricey but otherwise this is a really lovely place to grab a bite to eat and a tea/coffee.

We spotted the shop on our way home, so stopped and bought coffee, sandwiches and cakes. The food and service was first class. We have now found a great place to collect a snack on our way home from our trips to Wooler.

Used to be lovely but cooked food now always overcooked and tiny portion size. They dont offer mushrooms in the sandwiches so it's an extra £1 making it £3.80 for a small bacon and mushroom sandwich, then a trip to the dentist to fix the chipped tooth from the bacon. Over priced and under filled hot and cold sandwiches. Coffee is only filter coffee.

Sandwich was alright but not as nice as I'd expect for the price.

Fabulous home made sandwiches. Great variety. Lovely cakes and samosas too. You can sit and have your coffee on the field in the sun -it's really lovely.

Having read other reviews me and the girlfriend called in here on our way to the coast for a couple of sandwiches. While she ordered a cheese and mushroom toastie, I ordered a bacon, sausage, and egg on white. The toastie was just your average toastie, nothing worth noting, but my sandwich.... I can honestly say I don't think I've been so disappointed by food before and were it not for the brown sauce it would have gone out the window for the crows. The sausage was overcooked to the point where a layer of meat around the edge was actually crispy, the bacon was also overcooked to the point of being dry and almost crumbling. And you may have guessed where this is going but the egg was also overcooked. The egg white was too crispy while the yoke was dry and crumbly. I can only assume whoever cooked it forgot it was on the grill/in the fryer. Also of note, they had chocolate doughnuts from Lidl bakery on the shelf at almost double the price Needless to say, we won't be returning if we are in the area again.
