Great pub we were there on sat 6th for our friends birthday

Bit packed due to a darts match, lovely pub, very friendly.under £10 for 2 pints, well worth the visit.

This bar is a real blast from the past. To the door that takes you into the bar, the wooden furnishings and brass tables it was a delight to be here. Great service and a lovely pint of Yorkshire Blonde went down a treat.

Authentic and friendly old style pub. Always on our radar when visiting Berwick. Great pint of Guinness too!

Staff so friendly music was not loud at all, so whatever Giles Elliot says is wrong he is an idiot. We were made to feel so welcome we could faylt it one bit great quality beer and Laura was fantastic 👌

WOW, unbelievably rude bar staff. Sat ourselves down in back lounge (no room in front) music was at volume 11, asked if it could be turned down, told to move to front lounge if music was too loud, I told staff they were breaking health and safety laws and received a rather ugly sneer. I avoided reviewing this pub the first time I visited as I was tired and not fully with it. On return it's a historical pub with really poor staff who act as they please and care very little for paying customers.

If you like an old fashioned style pub this is it.. Great atmosphere. Very reasonable prices.. Good banter. 👍👍

Visited this pub several times over the years...Going downhill fast. I'm pretty sure that the ceilings or anything has not been cleaned since before the smoking ban in 2006.... The ceiling is a very dingy, dark brown and there is a spot where someone has actually wiped it with a cloth and it looks awful. 2 x ales on draught and 3 draught beers one of which was Guinness. The spirits are sitting among old grimy shelves and souvenirs from at least 30 years ago (probably more). The mixers are from large bottles and I couldn't see any fridges behind the bar with any bottled beers... The locals obviously like it but the furnishings are so out of date and I'm sure that if the place was to be updated they would have to spend a fortune on it that it would not see a return on their money... Will never return.

Fabulous local pub. Brenda the landlady is the heart & soul visit on a few Sunday afternoon when she's at the helm.

1st girls loo that has had moisturiser, pads, tampons, hair spray and a few other essentials. Been in berwick from 10am today, posting this at 18:54. Also lovely staff.

One of the best beer places anywhere in the nation. Plenty of cask and craft always on, regularly changing. Lovely views along the river too

Visiting this pub is like going back in time. A small friendly place, with plenty of local. The ranges of beer & drinks is reasonable. The toilets are an experience: but well worth visiting for a pint!

BRILLIANT real old pub. It's like going back in time to the 50's! The landlady Brenda is great fun and makes you feel so welcome. Wish I lived near, I'd be a regular. Prices cheap, if not cheaper than Witherspoon's!!

Time machine. Go here if you want a blast from the past. Good atmosphere with an array of eye candy to start any conversation off. Toilets are the biggest Charity collection going. Come join us if you think your hard enough.
