We had a lovely meal here tonight, the food was fantastic and the restaurant is lovely....immaculately clean from the floor to the toilets, you can see the pride the owners have in this business. Only one occupied table when we arrived at 6pm, but filling up by the time we left. For a Monday night, I think that speaks for itself on the popularity of this lovely restaurant.

Absolutely amazing Italian restaurant. The staff were lovely and the food was perfect and we had no issues at all. Definitely will be returning.

We went there on Easter Saturday 2024, we had booked a table (Recommended) but were somewhat early, the place was pretty near full. We were met at the door by an over worked waitress who still managed a broad welcoming smile who showed us to our table and got us sorted with menus. The starters were excellent, the Focaccia with tomato, Parmesan cheese and Parma Ham that I had was of Pizza proportion, still I munched on, my companion and I both had Pasta dishes as our mains. The mains were well presented tasty and generously proportioned, we had some Garlic Bread to sop up the sauce. My companion and I were so full that we did not have desert, probably the first time that has happened in years, instead we just had some really good coffee. La Famigilia although very busy still maintained a really nice buzzy ambiance, the staff worked hard to take orders and serve food and were really friendly and professional. All in all a really great restaurant experience and if i am in the area again I will make sure to visit.

Booked this little restaurant and that was not a mistake. It was busy with a couple of hours waiting for a table if you had not. The menu is extensive. The portions are massive the service and staff are polite quick and efficient. Do not miss this if in the area. Remember to book.

What a find!! Recommended by friends so friendly and nothing was too much trouble, I wanted a dish changing,no problem, I also asked for something not on the menu!! No problem, highly recommend.

Visited for my wife’s birthday with the family, even though it was extremely busy , the service was 1st Class . The food is authentic Italian, fresh, and absolutely delicious.. by far the best Italians in the area .. 5 Star

We had a very enjoyable meal. Good food and good portion size. My husband asked if the Calzone could be vegetarian and although the waitress initially said no, the chef was happy to replace the ham with mushrooms. Good to see it is used by locals - always a good sign.

Getting too expensive, card machine never seems to work, bring cash , plenty of cash or be steered to the machine across the road.

On a really busy evening, the service was exceptionally good given . Whole restaurant was serviced by excellent owner even with her broken arm! Very much a family effort as food was delivered by a couple of chefs - all with smiles and humour when it must have been a stressful period. - food was honest home cooked Italian and great value. We were very impressed by linen table cloths and napkins which are a rarity these days. Altogether a very enjoyable dinner.

Not visited La Familia before and was quite hungry. Booked last minute but they squeezed us in. I had a Calzone pizza and have to say it's the best Calzone pizza I've ever eaten. It was so tasty and a good portion size. 2 of our group had neat feast pizzas which also looked awesome. I also had a small bowl of chips. I will certainly go back. Staff were very friendly and welcoming too.

Great little Italian restaurant with honest food and friendly (albeit a little slow) service. Portions are huge so you won't go hungry. Also excellent for gluten free including pasta and pizza.

We were a party of 7 friends in for dinner. The restaurant is lovely, great atmosphere and friendly helpful staff. We all loved the food. It seemed like authentic Italian/Sicilian. Generous tasty portions at very reasonable prices.

We had a wonderful family dinner here. We made the booking based upon other Trip Advisor reviews and were not disappointed. We had a range of meals in including pasta, pizza and chicken, all our party said that it was probably the best Italian food we have eaten. Delicious food, excellent service, nice atmosphere and good value. We couldn’t have asked for more! Wouldn’t hesitate to eat here again.

Excellent food and service as usual. We booked for evening meal with family who were visiting the area. The staff are very efficient and friendly. The food is delicious and even catered for coeliac and vegetarians in our party.

Lovely food and staff but waiting staff have always been rushed off their feet when we've visited. Find yourself having to catch their eye to order drinks, etc rather than them coming to you. Extra waiting staff would make it a must-visit.

Fantastic family meal. The staff squeezed us in and were very attentive, despite the restaurant being super busy. In fact the female who runs the front of house is simply outstanding - friendly and attentive. She clearly knew what stage every table was at and never missed a step in terms of service. We had pizza, seafood pasta and deserts. All were perfect. All in all a great experience with great atmosphere. Highly recommended!

We regularly eat here whenever we visit Amble and inevitably have a good meal which is presented well and priced even better. I find it difficult to criticize the restaurant at all as we never have any complaints. I just wish that all eating establishments produced such meals as regularly as La Famiglia

This was the best place in amble, staff really nice and I enjoyed every single minute there. Food was delicious and the wine was spectacular. The chefs came and asked specifically what we needed and did an amazing job on the food. Looking forward to coming back again next summer

Went with friends who have just moved to Amble and WOW everything about La Famiglia was fantastic service ,food and price food really was superb and plenty of it .I had steak in a sauce I think mainly tomato but couldn’t believe the size of the steak (large) and cooked to perfection it’s a great pity we live so far away but might impose more often on our friends just to eat at La Famiglia try it you won’t be disappointed most certainly highly recommend

Nice Italian restaurant on the main shopping street in Amble, Northumberland. We were just going to go for a meal at a local pub but our pub of choice had stopped serving for the evening so we decided on La famiglier. We had a very nice meal served by a friendly Italian lady who seemed to be doing everything at front of house, serving food, drinks and clearing tables etc. She was very busy to say the least but all done with good humour. Nice food at a reasonable price. We would go again.

Okay food, pizzas not very good at all - think they were frozen bases

Very tasty food and good portions, for a very reasonable price. We shared a bottle of wine and had cheesy garlic bread, pasta mains (carbonara and veg lasagne) and finally, home made tiramisu. Excellent and friendly service. Steady stream of customers (certainly for a Monday) - and many seemed to be repeat visitors.

Fantastic food, reasonably priced, would have given 5 stars but I only got 4 small meatballs, I could have easily eaten double the amount given the size.

Great food but unfortunately the two young waiting staff were kept so busy serving drinks they simply couldn't keep up with food orders. We had such a long wait for a pudding menu and then for someone to come back and take an order that we gave up on pudding. They were both working really hard though

Tasty food, authentic Italian, well-cooked. Reasonably priced, service was really quick. We got seated without pre-booking and parked right outside, so all good and would dine there again if we were in the area.

Nothing less than a 5*. Originally we had not booked and upon arrival a couple of tables free. Lovely waitress/manager seated us which she didn’t have to and she put in one hell of a shift! Evidently short on staff but this lady has the whole restaraunt on point... never an empty glass and food was DELICIOUS. Travelled from Croydon, South London and this place beats all the Italian cuisine we have had! 5*!!!

Fabulous food! We had the calamari (light, crispy and tender), pizza (wonderful flavour in the tomato sauce) and mushroom risotto (the most delicious I have even had). Great atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Walked in at 5:30, empty. Waitress would not offer a table as they were apparently fully booked 😂😂 Walked past an hour later and still empty tables. Joke of a place. Avoid. Rossini up the road much better.

Clean and welcoming restaurant with friendly staff giving great service. We were in for a lunchtime special which was an absolute steal- extremely tasty fresh food for the price. The garlic mushroom starter was perfection😁

I originally awarded 5 stars but feel the need to edit after our last visit We returned after a lovely meal on our first visit ( see review further down) My husband ordered steak again as it was cooked well the first time (he loves steak and cooks a good steak himself) When the steak arrived he said it didn't look as good as the last time and when he started to eat it it was very overdone on one half and very underdone on the other half. He had asked for medium rare. He ate the steak however left quite a bit that was inedible. We rarely complain so didn't say anything. However when asked how the food was after our meal my husband commented politely that it was not as nice as the last time which was met with a very abrupt response saying they cook it all the time! No apology or asking what was wrong with it, making us wonder why they even bother asking if they aren't prepared for an honest answer. I'm hindsight my husband should have sent the steak back but we didn't want to make a fuss. We just offered an honest opinion when we are asked! We left quite disappointed by the lack of interest and abruptness. So will now find somewhere else local that values customer experience! Really lovely meal, I had pasta, my husband had steak. Excellent menu choice. The restaurant was very busy but the service was still great, staff were extremely friendly and attentive. We will definitely return.

Family friendly Italian restaurant with a good,varied menu. Welcoming staff and comfortable surroundings. Service very good,food hot but for me not seasoned very well. Having said that It is a very good place to eat. Early bird menu particularly good value.

The food is simply delicious; there are so many dishes on the menu that look lovely. The chicken risotto is an absolute winner, and the salmon and baby prawn roulade is perfection. The staff are really warm, friendly and helpful. The restaurant is immaculate even with white table linen!

Fantastic. Great friendly service . The Fresh Tomato and Basil soup starter was delicious . Excellent value for money. Pasta was very filling as was the pizza , all freshly cooked. Very highly recommend restaurant

This is the second time we have eaten in this family restaurant. I have to say the food is fantastic, the service great, lovely atmosphere, very friendly & great with children, I would recommend eating at this restaurant to anyone visiting Amble or the surrounding area. Called on a Saturday afternoon in December after reading the menu outside there early bird specials was what we plumped for, on entering we were shown a table and drinks order was taken, after 5 minutes we were ask if ready to order, then were told the specials we're not on in December (very disappointing) anyway we ordered something else from the menu the food arrived and it was very nice indeed after a sort while another couple came in and wanted to order the special and they were to disappointed, my only criticism is it might be a good idea to tell people that the specials are not on in December before they order drinks

I am reluctant to tell everyone how good the food is in La Famiglia as I may not be able to get booked in as easy as I would like to, but honestly, the food in this restaurant is absolutely superb. The steak is cooked to perfection and the chicken stroganoff is the best I have tasted by far and the prices, they are very reasonable, that you don't have to wait for a special occasion, you can go any time. Visit La Famiglia, you won't be disappointed I promise you.

We booked a table here at the last minute after being let down by a local seafood restaurant and had a fabulous evening of fantastic food and service. We ate mainly from the daily specials menu which was perfect for us. To start, goats cheese bruchetta with caramelized onions and also deep-fried calamari (which came from main menu) The main course of fillet steak with extra large king prawns was the best fillet steak I have ever had. Melt in your mouth steak, perfectly cooked and king prawns the size of baby lobsters, no kidding, all swimming in garlic butter. We were too full to try a dessert but the expresso coffees were spot on. We will definitely be back.

We recently visited here for a meal for four. The surroundings were clean and pleasant and the staff were very friendly. The food was typically Italian, very well made, tasty and well presented. We had pepperoni pizza, Calzone, Tagliatelle carbonara and meatballs in pasta, everything was very nice, we would definately visit here again.

Where to begin? Lovely little family run place, the warmest welcome from the owner who was running every table herself on a reasonably busy Monday night. Huge portions of mussels and prawns, very well cooked in garlic, chilli and white wine. Extremely good value and fantastic service from start to finish. Would definitely return if we're ever back in Amble. Grazie mille!

Wonderful Italian restaurant and had a good menu. There was a 3 course meal special on at a reasonable price and portions. A good day out with friends I Amble. Would definitely go back for more

Early bird special is a good deal, three courses. We can't even finish two courses. Garlic bread is a must, the tomato soup is the most authentic we've had, really fresh and spicy. The Alfredo is a tad salty for me but that's just me used to low salt. And really friendly service. Good value even if without the early bird special. Plus nice seating.

Easily the best Italian in Northumberland. On the night we went in, they were short staffed and it was the owner and her daughter... the place was heaving but the two of them put any business I've ever eaten in to shame! Every single person in that place got the same lovely warm and welcoming service without compromise! I was SO SO impressed. And the food was amazing! If you're in Amble and want decent food with the best service this has to be number 1 on your list - you'll only be disappointed by anywhere else. Thanks so much we had a lovely night 10/10
