Lovely food, very quick service, perfect experience.

Organise Family Get together of 22 for Mums 80th From start to finish - Incredible. Staff all lovely, kind, professional and respectful. Service was first class, Food wonderful including a special 3 course Menu as well as main. Couldn't do enough for us, was a real family reunion as some hadn't seen each other for a while and the staff gave us the space and attention perfectly. Couldn't of asked for a better day Many Many thanks all.

Good selection on menu had smoked salmon and goats cheese ciabatta sandwich which was delicious staff were really friendly

We are a party of 18 people and I was initially a little reluctant to return to Lollo Rosso as previously when we visited in September the service was poor, meals missing, delays meaning 1.5 hours between courses and generally some other negative reviews during that time period, however, the food has always been lovely so we thought we’d try it again. I have to say that the difference in between those months was amazing. We were greeted quickly and the table ready for us. Whilst there’s always some delays with a table of this size, meaning not everything comes out at the same time, the service was greatly improved compared to the last visit. The staff were very attentive and always checked whether more drinks were needed and if everything was up to standard. Starters, main courses and desserts were amazing. More than enough (potentially too much) and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the meals! I was so pleased that this visit was a success and I’ll have no concerns of returning in the future.

Booked on line for a Thursday night visit. Upon arrival, despite several tables being unoccupied, we had to wait to be seated as none of the available tables were clean. The restaurant wasn’t particularly busy either. Cutlery was dirty and the service was very slow. The waiter swore in front of children (about the dirty cutlery) and was generally uninterested, not paying attention when people were talking to him and smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. Portions were good sizes and the food well presented, however the food seemed incredibly bland. £170 for a below par evening - won’t be going back.

Had a fantastic lunch with friends today. Great food, great staff. Great atmosphere. Very reasonable. What more do you want!!!

Lovely meal spoilt by service We had our starters and main courses, plates taken away and dessert menus handed out. Unfortunately we were forgotten about, plenty of staff milling about. Eventually a member of staff came over so we asked for the bill. Such a shame, we’ve been going there for years

Having been to lollo rosso on multiple occasions I have found my last 3 or 4 visits have not lived up to expectations. Having to wait for very long periods of time and having to go up to the bar each time for drinks. Food coming out at really poor intervals leaving some people with cold food. I feel like they have lost the touch and struggle to keep up with demand

A large establishment set out on two floors Clearly a popular choice for the people of Morpeth as it was PACKED Albeit it was Easter Saturday when we visited, there were plenty of large groups celebrating birthdays et al The staff were all fantastic in both efficiency, friendliness and overall politeness and service My dad’s a real stickler for levels of service, having worked in hospitality himself and he was extremely impressed Shout out to our server - Dianna - who was only 3 months in her new job Food wise…portions are a decent size You won’t be leaving this place feeling like you need more to eat We had starters of the calamari and garlic mushrooms - both were decent Mains varied from a chicken dish that was well received, a salmon risotto that was waaaay too salty, a linguine pescatare that lacked the flavour you would’ve expected and their Penne Lollo Rosso - which required chilli flakes to bring out the flavour I actually wanted carbonara but was disappointed to learn it is not made the correct and traditional way of NOT using cream (it’s not difficult and I struggle to understand why Italian restaurants fail at this) Oh….the sticky toffee pudding was tremendous - would’ve loved to have tried it with custard instead of ice cream Impressed that, as it was half term, the kids meals were free Would I return - yeah, but I doubt they will have learnt how to make carbonara without using cream though

We had the £18.95 lunch menu. All the food was excellent. The Greeter was so friendly and helper - I even congratulated him on his "smiley welcome" !

Been coming for years but very disappointed this time. Had lasagne, didn’t find any bechamel but a thick layer of melted cheese which set as I ate. Only ate 5/6 forkfuls and left the rest. Coffees came luke warm, to be fair they were replaced and no charge was made. No one seemed to be in charge, the staff were all very young and it was hard to catch their eye, seemed disinterested. I wonder if the cafe is taking away the focus from the restaurant?

Fabulous meal with fantastic service. We didn’t have a reservation for Friday evening but the staff found us a table quickly and were so polite and helpful. Service was excellent- the staff were pleasant, efficient and attentive and went out of their way to make sure that everyone was having a lovely evening. The food was delicious and the wine excellent. We hope to eat here again soon. Highly recommended!

Great place, lovely pizza and great lunchtime deal.

I took my daughter and her fiancé out for her birthday and we had a great time. The food, service and atmosphere were first class. I had linguine alla aglio e olio, my daughter had risotto and Mike had the lasagne. All very good. Portions were generous without being intimidating. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Lollo is our regular go to restaurant , food and staff always lovely but the Mother’s Day celebration menu this week is exceptional. Thank you to Enrico and all this hardworking team who always make our visit special.

Would not return here, I have been here twice now and haven’t had the best experience, visited last night with a large group our table was booked for 7-15pm and we didn’t get seated til 7-45pm then waited another 15 mins to order drinks after managing to grab the attention of a staff member, the drinks did arrive quickly after that but the food order took forever to request and a long time to arrive, however the food was delicious and hot but took way too long to arrive, when we were ready to leave we asked for the bill five times with different waiters and they kept passing the buck to each other we ended up having to go to the bar upstairs and reel off everything we had, i understand they were busy but they also had lots of staff most who were only interested in their regular customers when we said to the girl who took our payment that we had asked many times for the bill hence the reason we were at the till paying she just said oh it’s always the same when the singer is on, they are lucky we are honest people as we cold have left half our food off as they hadn’t spilt the bill by tables as they had suggested in the first place I felt as though we were a nuisance and won’t be returning a further time.

Celebrated a wedding here and the staff were amazing , very professional and efficient . Food was top notch we will definitely come again next time we are up north.

Just visited and had a very disappointing meal. The lasagne had far too much salt and the cocktail was way too strong. Had an excellent meal last year so expected the same high quuality.No tablecloths on the tables either.

As a family we go regularly. Tonight we had a child free night and enjoyed a fillet steak surf and turf and a Lollo Rosso Salmon, with a Bottle of red. Absolutely fantastic. Food, wine, and service 10/10. Thanks again guys.

Great food, great service and a friendly atmosphere. We visited the restaurant with our son and daughter in law and were not disappointed. The fillet was huge and perfectly cooked, the service was on point, professional without being too stuffy. Will definitely be back! 🥰

Disappointing visit tonight, staff are different and not as friendly as the previous staff. Prices have increased and the portion sizes are smaller.

Not being from the area and it being late in the evening on a Fri we stopped in and were seated immediately. It was busy and upstairs was half full however service was prompt & it wasn’t too loud. Food was excellent, hot & plentiful in portion size. Calzone was stuffed, crispy with a sumptuous tomato sauce on the side. Perfectly cooked pasta retaining its bite with an excellent balance of ingredients in the sauce. Sid of chips were crunchy & fluffy. The decor is modern, classsic, open & even the bathrooms are nice. You can see the pizza oven & prep. Also seen a private room for bigger parties but equally as cute a restaurant for an intimate date. Downstairs has a disabled bathroom.

Had amazing food and excellent service. I will be returning for the amazing Penne Carbonara and sticky toffee pudding . All dishes were excellent. Salmon risotto and sea bass were equally enjoyed.

Count this restaurant as one of THE reasons to visit Morpeth. Post Xmas catch up with my bestie here right at the end of lunch service, food was quick to appear, service was excellent and the bill was a pleasant surprise as well. We ate from the 3 course lunch special menu but opted for the coffee as the 3rd course as the portions were such that there was no room for ice cream! It has a vibrant atmosphere and is clearly popular but didn't feel rammed or hectic. A thoroughly enjoyable experience. Picture: chicken bourgignon with saffron rice (lunch 3 course special menu).

Accommodating and friendly staff. Absolutely loved the mushroom & truffle ravioli and a traditional limoncello/ amaretto offered after our meal even though we were last ones in and quite late on a Monday night, we very much weren’t rushed out at all! Good alcohol free options for a pregnant lady too. Will definitely be back when I can have the real cocktails :)

What a great restaurant, was visiting friends who took me here and it was superb. Staff were super friendly and helpful. The food we had was outstanding. Will definitely visit again on next trip.

Visited Lollo Rosso for the first time today - and we'll certainly be back! Our lunch was a birthday treat for me from my lovely wife, Julie - and what a treat it turned out to be. From the moment we arrived, the staff were welcoming and friendly and wasted no time getting us settled. Special mention must go to Dean, who was both attentive and knowledgeable: he recommended a beautiful smooth Puglian red wine, which was brilliant ( and that's an understatement!) Our food was a delight, from start to finish; rounded off with a limoncello and cappuccino, the whole meal was superb. We'll be back: and if you have yet to visit, just do it. You'll love it...

First time visiting this restaurant. Ambiance, and waiter service very good. Sadly the vegetarian risotto was very very salty. My cousin also tasted my dish and agreed. I tried to eat it regardless but didn’t make it even half way. I told the young polite waiter who offfered an apology saying the usual chef wasn’t here. I asked him to please feedback to chef that there was far too much salt in what would otherwise be a very nice dish. I didn’t want to complain or ask for a refund as I think this was perhaps a genuine error. On my way out, the chef (older man, bandana on his head, beard), was at the desk waving me goodbye with a wide grin. It would have been appropriate to offer an apology instead of a cheery goodbye! I will come back but will steer clear of the risotto. Food and drink was reasonably priced.

Quality Italian food, simple tasty and good price. Lovely place to enjoy wine and tasty food with friends.

Wey Hey!! Fab restaurant in Morpeth. Been for lunch a few times and had a family evening meal. Never been let down. If there were more stars they would get them. So we went to Lollo Rosso Italia for my son's engagement celebration. Firstly it was a cold day and the place didn't open until 12pm so the line outside at 11.55am was promising. Normally if there's a queue it's a good place. We got seated in a party of around 15 and drinks soon followed pretty quickly as did the menus. The kids and starters (for those having them) came promptly and my wife had the goats cheese with bruschetta finished with a thick gorgeous balsamic drizzle. Others include a small portion of spaghetti and meatballs amongst others. Kids were catered for with half pizzas and chicken tenders in breadcrumbs and of course chips! This is when things started to go a little wrong for us. Not in any way with the staff or food but what we could only put down to being a busy Saturday lunchtime. It was a full hour before we then got our main courses. And those of us that didn't have starters like me. We're now starting to tuck into the table cloth or whatever they could. I got a prosciutto fungi (ham and mushroom pizza) and I can't tell you how it tasted as it just flew down my neck. I mean an hour! The kids by this point had eaten so we're getting tired and restless and it was hard to sit still for them. We skipped dessert as we didn't want to be there another hour. Summary, food and venue and staff all really nice. But no matter how busy a restaurant gets waiting for one hour between ordering and arrival of the food is pretty poor. Especially when kids meals and starters came so quickly. Would I ever return? Yes I think I would. All the food was absolutely lovely. I'm told 😁

Love this place. All the food is always amazing

We live quite locally but this was our first time visiting - why haven't we been before! Everything was lovely, great portion sizes and hot, not to mention utterly delicious. However I have to particularly mention the staff, who were not just friendly but were funny and engaging. It was very busy and everyone was still smiling and just seemed happy to be there. We had the set lunch menu which was great value. We'll definitely visit again. Lovely place.

5 adults and 2 kids. Pasta pizza and a sirloin steak. 2 starters and 4 alcoholic drinks and 4 soft drinks. Bill was £377.00. Questioned it obviously and the waiters excuse was they must of added another tables order on or a table who left without paying!! Still came to over £200 when It was corrected. First time we've been but never again.They weren't even bothered. I think they rely on people being drunk and wouldn't notice but we weren't and we did!! Overrated pasta and pizza cafe.

Absolutely impossible to make a reservation. Tried 6 times to call at different times and no one answers the telephone!

The interior is beautiful, the staff are amazing and the food is excellent.

Overpriced Italian food. I’ve had better in Newcastle city centre. I think the new owner is only interested in profits. I wouldn’t go back if my life depended on it. They are a profit machine. Giannis is much better. Even Wetherspoons!! 🙌🙌🙌

Myself and my wife dined here on a packed Friday night for a late 10yr anniversary having had a busy few Weeks and in desperate need of some TLC. Not only did the team squeeze us in (sorry for not booking) with no delay, but the service, food and atmosphere were sensational! This is and will continue to be for many years an absolute gem in this community. The place was running like a sewing machine! Thank you for the fantastic evening!

Having been to Lollo Rosso a few times with friends,and enjoyed it,we decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary there.When we told them it was a special day,we were given a glass of prosecco.The meal was superb and the staff very friendly and attentive the whole time we were there.When we ordered sweets,they brought marsh mallows on a board with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate sauce and all the waiters sang.It was a memorable anniversary day.Thankyou.

Found this fantastic cafe on a visit to Morpeth recently. Very friendly and welcoming. Great food. Fantastic coffee.

Disappointed, I had the set meal lunchtime special which was poor value. The ingredients were cheaper versions of what you would expect elsewhere. Limited starters. Fish of the day coley! Mozzarella was not buffalo. Very limited vegetarian options. Vegetable Pasta dish not much vegetables and not very tasty, green leaves looked like spinach where you would expect basil. Desert ice cream, no extra topping such as fruit.

Amazing food and amazing atmosphere

Lollo Rosso did an excellent job providing high quality meals at good prices for myself and my extended family on my wedding day! Food was great and reasonably priced, staff were friendly and extremely helpful and accomodating. I would reccommend it to anyone visiting Morpeth.

We had an extraordinary time staying in Morpeth while visiting Northumberland for the first time. We had breakfast at Lollo Rosso cafe every morning and loved it and then enjoyed a special dinner with dear friends on our last night ... our meal was fantastic, the service was wonderful and the atmosphere was perfect. Thank you for a lovely and memorable time.

After a slight mix up over our booking we were seated & enjoyed a fabulous meal. I can recommend the risotto with chicken & saffron & the battered zucchini.

I been been really looking forward to visiting this place as it was recommended. However the service given by the waiters was really poor and unprofessional. Give it a miss.

Such a bad experience last night, no management, staff chatting, service slow and food v average to poor. Won’t return for a while. Waste of time and money. Really v unhappy

Unfortunately disappointed, came in for some drinks. One of the staff said we can have drinks only, after 10 min someone said sorry you have to order food too :/ big shame And they didn't give my change back!!!

Visited for my birthday and couldn't fault the service, food, and atmosphere. We were served by a great member of the team Colin, who was attentive, knowledgeable, friendly and we enjoyed a bit of chat with him. The restaurant was extremely busy as it was a Saturday evening but the service was spot on, we weren't hurried, the food served at nicely spaced intervals, it was piping hot and delicious. We had starters of bruchetta and black pudding in peppercorn sauce, which my partner said was amazing! Mains were both pasta dishes with meatballs and a chicken, pancetta with mushrooms in a tomato sauce with a fresh garlic bread to share which were delicious. We did indulge in desserts with a tiramisu and profiteroles which were lovely too 😋 We have just recently returned from Italy and this was better than some meals we had there! I've been here many times but this meal was exceptional and my partner had never been but was highly impressed so we will be back before too long! Well done all the team👍.

Our go-to place for Italian dining. Great food. They also do Gluten free pasta. Very friendly staff. Can get very very busy on weekends. Expect 30-45 minutes wait for your food to arrive on busy days.

We have had a really nice time , the Cannoli were delicious and very tasty, real Sicilian cannoli, nice coffee, nice atmosphere and lovely staff!

Twice recently we have had to wait one hour for our starters, once on a Saturday night being seated at 8pm, once on a Thursday lunchtime being seated at 1pm. Not good enough I am afraid. Different reasons given by waiters to that of the owners ranging from a party of 100 in, to two chefs down, to not taking orders to let the kitchen catch up. We love the place, frequent visitors and have sung its praises over many ,many years. There appears something fundamentally wrong at present. Staff still fantastic but you can sense their frustration at not being able to provide the service they normally do and can.

Went for food and the food wasn’t the best got given a butter knife to cut a pizza the pizza wasn’t cooked properly at all we also got whistled at by most of all the staff and we asked tgfor manger to sort it out and he laughed and did nothing do not go here waste of money and time
