It's really nice here! We had the toasties, a mocha and jasmine tea, everything was really good. The staff were lovely as well. Definitely reccomend coming here, we will absolutely be coming back!

I have been here a few times now. The food is unbelievable. One of the best brunches in Bristol I’d say. So different to anything else you’d normally get and the vegan option is amazing - the tofu is unreal. (Plenty of non vegan options too though.) The coffee is perfect too, even down to the cute mugs it’s served in. I’ve had a matcha drink as well which was refreshing and delicious. I just need to try the toasty if I can ever swerve from the breakfast!

LOVED the food, the spicy plum tofu is a must try even if you're not vegetarian/vegan! The tuna special was also delicious, can't fault the food at all. Staff is very nice as well, and we couldn't stop looking at the owner's cute dog - what a treat having him around. I think we were there on a really busy Saturday so there was a lot going on around us; can't wait to come back for a more chill atmosphere next time, I need to try the ube cake that looked incredible.

Been lamenting the lack of Japanese style breakfast options in Bristol for ages so this is a proper treat! Have tried a few of the options so far and all very tasty.

Honestly cannot fault this place - such good, friendly, wholesome vibes we are SO lucky this is our new local spot. The food is just incredible too - we could hardly choose what to order and now it's hard not to order the same again every time because it is THAT good. We had the salmon breakfast, kimchi toastie and some of the dreamy Ube cheesecake. Just wow.

Had a little catchup with my friend at lonely mouth and we got some iced matcha and toasties. The katsu and cheese toasty sounds weird, but it is AMAZING!!! It is also vegetarian! So filling as well. The kimchi toasty comes at second place for me, but my friend actually preferred it over the katsu one. The iced matcha with strawberry cream was very good, I personally would have enjoyed more strawberry cream as it did get mixed in. The dining ware is beautiful. The general aesthetic of the place is so calming, they even have a lovely little vinyl corner. Would definitely come back to try their desserts and Japanese breakfast.

Great music, great food. Very different. If you're tired of avocado on toast, go and sample Lonely Mouth. Small menu but big flavours. As a family of four, we spent £80 on food and one drink each. Everything was correct, but the food was great. Delicious pickles, nicely cooked rice, an okay miso soup, a spicy sauce offered with the food that wasn't spicy, and a very well-cooked and flavoursome piece of salmon. Everything was delicious and made with care and arrived promptly. All accompanied by great tunes. We will be back to try other dishes like the toasties. What a great idea and concept. I hope they get some success out of a tricky location. Go and pay them a visit.

My girlfriend and I had our first experience here this Sunday, where we tried the limited tuna belly over rice. Truly an incredible meal, from the perfect seasoning of the miso soup, to the insane quality of the fish (easily the highest grade tuna I’ve had in the UK), to the perfect portion sizes. The ambience was great, felt very cozy and the music was relaxing and not overly loud that it detracted from the mood. Bonus points for the cutest dog running around and stealing attention from everyone. Genuinely looking forward to the next time we go back!

Love it here, whenever somebody visits me in Bristol, I take them here for breakfast and they are always blown away. Staff are lovely, atmosphere is fantastic with the chill music, often very relaxing hip-hop. The drinks are great, with plenty of options both familiar and a little bit more unique. The food is, undoubtedly, some of the best I have ever had and definitely the best breakfast I can find in Bristol. It just makes me feel happy and my soul lights up whenever I have it. If you are in Bristol, weather visiting or you're a local, you owe it to yourself to try this. Especially if you like any kind of Asian cusine.

I was so gutted!! people have been raving about this place but the best thing was the decor. the treats we had were so dry, it was a cookie pie and a filled cookie, I feel like maybe they had been out for a while in the heat?? I couldn't finish mine. the coffee was mid, towards the end it tasted like they had either reheated the milk or the milk was gone off. we also had a matcha with strawberry cream I think cost like £6+, the entire glass was full of ice and there might have been like 3 mouthfuls of the actual drink in there. and the matcha was premade :( I was so sad!! the girls really didn't seem interested in serving anyone which was also really disheartening. I loved the decor but it felt like all style and no substance. I can't say what the cooked food is like since we didn't have it but hopefully it's the saving grace of this place. the entire thing was £21 and honestly I feel a bit scammed.

Wasn't sure what to expect as the menu on Google is from a previous incarnation, turned out to be short and unusual menu of big rice based breakfasts, french toast, toasties, and cakes The Japanese breakfast was excellent, especially the incredible plum tofu. It was also huge; enough for an evening meal. My partners Chazuke with salmon was also good and similarly satisfying, though he preferred mine. I'd love if there were a few more lighter/takeaway options; maybe a half size portion as a bento box, or just the plum tofu in an onigiri. Having said that, the toasties did look amazing, and the matcha latte was delicious and beautiful. Fab and interesting soundtrack too. Left feeling hip and full.

I lived in Japan briefly and have since been craving a proper Japanese breakfast. The food here has absolutely filled that gap and although I don’t live particularly close, I try to make the effort to get here as often as possible! I also loved the honey americano, very yummy.

I've been here twice now and both times brought me so much joy. I don't know the owner but on both visits there were streams of people popping in and wishing them the best. Obviously proud of their friend and for good reason! The vibes are great The food is top notch (great vegan options) The drinks are wonderfully made And the music was on point! My husband ordered the traditional breakfast and I ordered the French toast (both times). The sour plum tofu (of which I stole from him) is crazy flavorful and the French toast (of which I did not share) is so decidant! My one gripe, if you can call it that is: We were waiting for a larger table but didn't know there's more in the back. There is! A sign above the door way by the tills pointing to extra seating and the loos may stop people from poking their nose in and thinking it's full and leaving but it was quite busy so that's probably not a problem! Can't wait to see how this spot, and it's menu evolves. Love it!

Had the loveliest Japanese breakfast on Friday! Really brightened my morning, each little dish is incredibly flavourful and perfectly balanced, in all its little ways - temperature, presentation, flavour profile etc. Loved that for the pickles and miso soup, and the tofu was insanely good too. It was expensive, sure, but was well worth the price! One small thing : my drink was too icy, which diluted everything, making it hard to enjoy the taste (I had the matcha with coconut water). Either way, excited to come back and try everything on the menu!! Happy to keeping support this business (especially after the lovely ramen pop up last year) :)!!!

*at kitchen by kask pop up! Managed to fit us in for a table of 2 on a Saturday night and was worth the wait!! Excellent service. Matching beer flight. Delicious Japanese inspired cocktails and most importantly ramen that tastes like it's been cooking for over 24 hours gathering flavour and depth. We ordered the whole meat menu, had beef tartare, trust me, sounds strange but worked so well with Nori sheets and a semi- cured egg yolk for dipping. Chicken Karrage so light crispy with a good spice mix hit and finally the ramen bowls. You have to try this place to see how amazing the ramen is, made with massive amounts of time, skill and enthusiasm for Japanese cuisine. I will be reccomending to friends and trying to get back soon!

The food was simple but cooked well, prices were high. 2 thin slices of miso aubergine came to £10 and 2 very small fillets of mackerel for £14. I felt a bit ripped off because I was expecting a meal rather than high costed tapas. The menu could do with a suggested order quantity.

Very disappointed... I had karaage fried (burnt)chicken Don. It was really really dry to the point that I'm not sure if it was thigh (as it should be) or breast! Rice was good but the rest I wouldn't recommend.

High expectations after the other reviews, but the food had quite the hill to climb after a 90 minute wait. Seems they spent that time on cooking the chicken alone. Thank goodness for the moisture from the cucumber salad. Was offered a refund which I refused because I do wish them all the best. They can and will do better I'm sure, maybe I timed it wrong.

10/10 so so so so GOOD. Had to order food from here three days in a row to sort me out after working a raw week in a kitchen myself. Every time I brought a friend with me they loved it as much as me. Used to be our favourite place to go for a quiet drink and to play ping pong for a few years. It used to be free with a drink but now it's £2.50 each without a gym membership. That would be fine but that money isn't being used to maintain anything. The bats are unusable and we had to stop playing: rubber peeling off and bats chipped on every single one. We werent offered a refund. Also, our glasses were filthy and covered in coffee (I hope). Didn't notice that until I was almost finished.

Food is great, I don't enjoy the feeling of constantly being rushed here. It's not our fault your place is too small to host the number of covers you need to turn a profit. Booked 2 weeks in advance and the waitress initially made us feel like a nuisance. Will return, but not in a hurry. Too cramped and noisy by virtue of being very popular (which is great) and small. Hope they upgrade to a bigger building soon. Plenty of empty ones nearby.
