Very rapidly gone downhill. Entire staff removed without notice yesterday and replaced with a couple of surly blokes. Bad music, empty and completely without the charm it had just a few days ago. Sad vibes.

This was a proper pub full of proper people and decent ale. Unfortunately it seems to turned into another soulless hipster hangout. Without ham and cheese baps. Sad times.

Nice local pub that's recently changed management and had lots of improvements.

Still trying to find it's feet a little after the change of management but going in the right direction. Lovely staff, decent selection of beer/cider and a good beer garden. The huge plus of the Sugar Loaf historically was the juke box, obviously this is a little subjective but the music has been awful recently. That may be 100% down to the patrons admittedly. Will be back to to have a proper look though the new juke box.

We loved it here before the facelift, but it’s now even better!

They've done a great job of doing this place up. The decor is great, friendly service and atmosphere 👌

Well I'm told it's the same team that runs the stillage on church road but who ever it is they are doing a Stirling job. It was full, it was vibrant and I had a great evening last night. I hope they open the garden up when the weather allows .

Nice pub with friendly clientele and staff. Make sure you buy a cheese roll. Pool table is 50p a game and darts is free. What's not to like ?

One of my favourite Bristol establishments! Always a good pint, a good roll and a cracking service with a smile from the pretty Welsh barmaid. Makes the jars go down a lot easier! ;-)

Great community pub, I live close by, and love the look, the care taken, the garden, the vibe of this place, a rare find these days.. hope it remains, the perfect Easton pub, unchanged for the future.

This warm and welcoming pub is a staple for our community. The staff are gracious and the clientele, wonderful. Always a homely vibe and a great garden out back. Also perfect if you have to wait for a train as its behind the station. Great little boozer.

This is lovely tradition pub, thank goodness it’s not been refurbished and lost its character. If only there were more like this

A fabulous local pub that feels safe welcoming great atmosphere and I have been going to off and on all my life . As a girl from Easton the pub is legendary and has always been a safe wonderful traditional family pub . The now landlord has worked wonders to keep it safe and welcoming 🙏❤️❤️

Brilliant pub, a true asset to Bristol! Good to have a proper pub rather than a ghastly chain or worse, a gastro feel. Full of interesting characters, mixed crowd, friendly, affordable with a great, welcoming atmosphere & awesome tunes. Highly recommended 😊

A proper local pub - no frills and no fancy bistro pub vibes. Great staff, great garden, infamous cheese rolls (they even went viral!), and a pint for a decent price. A proper boozer that’s got community at its heart that doesn’t pretend to me anything it’s not! Highly recommend!!

The only reason for a 3 on food was i never ate here....this was my first time in this pub, even though ive lived here my whole life 42 yrs to be exact and only ever walked past during a dog walk but for the first time i decided to actually venture in to meet my partner, as he was here with friends and had drank here previously....butttttt it was lovely i would definitely come-back and it was so relaxed, no clicky feeling when u walk in, they (the staff) couldn't be more welcoming to new comers and treated my dog like he was better that paying customers...i will always feel my dog (frank) was privileged as he was honestly treated like royalty, i would highly recommend this pub to anyone looking for a alternative pub with a different relaxed atmosphere, all of them couldn't welcome my dog and a new comers enough .... i actually think i might come to this boozers more while im on a dog walk....a massive thank u to all! Over priced beer local pub 1/2 mile away £2 25 cheaper for thatchers and Guinness with live music thrown in as a bonus .only giving 3 *** mens toilets nasty !! Not a place i would recommend

One of the best pubs in Bristol. Legendary pub rolls, great vibes, pool, darts, a wide variety of drinks at a good price and The Sunday roast is also top shelf and a bargain for £9.95. Full recommend 🔥👌🏻🍻

Can't believe I have lived in Bristol for 25 years and have never been here. Two pints and two cheese rolls for £10 is great value. Will be back.

Came in at 1pm, 16 of us, we sat out in the garden in the sunshine and had a roast each. Staff was very accommodating and patient with such a large group of us. Very attentive and brilliant service. I ordered the nut roast myself and thought it was delicious, will definitely be ordering again next time I’m here. Fairly priced.

Lovely atmosphere & the rolls are packed they only cost £1.50 & well worth it. And their drinks are responsible also, The staff are really friendly

Great pub with lovely beer garden. My partner and I had the vegan and vegetarian roast and it was delicious. The vegetables and gravy are amazing.

Good traditional style pub, good range of beers and ciders. They have their famous cheese or beef cobs/rolls that went viral for their huge slabs of cheese as well as a large range of other bar snacks. They play the football and there is usually a price drop on a couple of ales for matchs. They have a pool table and darts that are popular. It's a pretty big pub and they have a beer garden at the back as well as seating on the street out front. My personal favorite is the big cast iron radiators at the bar, great in winter when it's minus 3 outside and you've walked there. Staff and locals are very welcoming too. Check it out.

Grim. Staff miserable, Hardly any selection of beers, on a mid-week night anyway. For those into retro, this is like a trip to the early 1970s.

Good old boozer. Didn't get chased out with pitchforks, be sure to admire the 50s urinals: The wall-of-tiles took me back to my teenage years. Everything the Greenbank isn't.

A great, no-frills Bristol boozer that still feels like a community staple, the staff are always really friendly and attentive. There's a large beer garden at the back, which is great on a warm day. A must visit when in Easton.

Great pub. Super friendly and caring staff - they still ask about my back 6 months after I was hobbling around on a stick. Wouldn't change it. Also proper no messing rolls with slabs of cheese - real comfort food

I love the sugar loaf. As beautiful as Bristol is, it's propensity to gentrify and to cater to the well off minority is undeniable. The sugar loaf is an exquisite example of a pub that perfectly caters to the community it exists in, a pub that caters to the neighbourhood in its entirety and not only to the demographic with the highest income. It's not just a great place to drink, it's a great place to spend time as a part of the community and not apart from it. #❤️Martin

The best pub in Easton - a truly authentic local pub with the best vibes. The landlords done a really good job of making the most of the loaf and putting on some wicked nights too. NYE was so much fun and exactly what I wanted from a night out. Great music, great crowd and decent prices and it always has such a good atmosphere...you see the same faces over and over and its a good place to get to know others in your community. No snobbery or trying to be something it isn't - everyones welcome and accepted. It would be a true shame for the Loaf to change as it's perfect just the way it is and an asset to Easton.

Proper rolls proper job, especially the ham and salad cob! But no seriously, lovely pub, drank here for years and especially love it as it's a proper proper boozer, no frills but good feels.

Where can one start...The head of the house. Martin, the loveliest landlord in Bristol. Hospitable, welcoming, generous. All words that can be used to describe Martin. The prices, never too high, never too low. The widest selection of drinks, reasonably priced and served with a smile. Televisions on each end of the bar, always on. Not to mention, one of the finest juxeboxes in the South West. Garage to rock. Fleetwood Mac to Basement Jaxx. All genres are catered for. Truly one of the best pubs in Bristol. If you're nearby, you must visit The Sugar Loaf.
