Lone Star barbecue is one of a few food and drink outlets situated inside the Ramsgate market, opposite Weatherspoons. Dont be put off by the dingy lighting as you first walk in , I have been there a couple of times now and everyone is friendly and welcoming. The folk who run lone Star are obviously passionate about their products, and will gladly describe the different dishes so you can decide whats best for you. Pork, beef, chicken and sausages are all prepared and smoked on the premises, and if you time it right, you can watch this done. I'm not usually a fries person, but the seasoned fries and brisket gravy are amazing. Prices are also very reasonable.

Was looking forward to trying this place however mixed thoughts on this one. Menu looks good, but food was mediocre tbh, which was a shame. Ask for the wine list and prices as they are not on the menu and choice is limited and expensive! Service started off great but the main course delivery was a shambles with the server spilling bbq sauce all over two of us and not even realising, when I mentioned it to another server they didn’t seem bothered and I had to ask for serviettes to clear it up - lack of accountability which was a shame. The ribeye was over done and had to go back but was dealt with swiftly and without issue. I did speak to the manager about the bill and our experience which as you can see was mixed and she was very quick to deal with this and put things right which was a positive and much appreciated. Overall not what we were expecting, but the things that were off were put right.

We very stupidly stopped in here after just parking up into Margate, very hungry, and really fancying some fish and chip shop chips! There was a traditional, small take away chip shop next door to this one but the queue was round the block, and like I said we were very hungry and didn’t want to wait! As soon as we walked into this restaurant, we regretted it and should have walked straight back out. There were 2 more customers sitting inside, in complete silence, a member of staff came over and told us it was only burger and fish and chips being served that day. We manage to get them to just serve us some chips, I had a wine and my partner had a coke (in a daisy printed glass that you would give your child at home). It was a very awkward setting to be sat in, the staff were just standing around, staring at you, in an empty restaurant, waiting for you to finish your food and then would pounce as soon as your had your last bite. A lady from outside came in and asked to use the loo but they said it was for customers only (fair enough) BUT they asked her to pay to use it if she needed it that bad! Shocking. She didn’t have any change so had to leave. I did need the toilet but felt too uncomfortable to go, I felt like there would be someone watching me. Needless to say, we left as soon as we could, and carried on walking up the beach….there were sooooo many more fish and chip shops and we were absolutely gutted that we just stopped in the first place.
