London Road Brew House in Southampton

Quiz was too long... 3 rounds would have been enough, no need to read out the answers just tell us the winners. Couldn't understand the guys (sound wasn't balanced), Pizza was yum though, be back for those.

I had a unexpected breakdown on my mobility scooter outside London Road Brewery house ,I managed to get my mobility scooter inside the pub I was very stressed and the manager called Taylor and other members of staff exceeded themselves in helping me out organising breakdown service to get me back home. Whilst waiting for breakdown service to arrive I was well looked after, I'm yet to taste there food but on waiting for breakdown service to arrive I noticed the food quality looked fantastic and very inviting I will be visiting in due course to have a wonderful reunion and have a beautiful meal. The pizza was actually one of the best I've ever had. I may have been a little tippy but it was banging.

Great place to watch the football and get a nice selection of ales and ciders. Can get busy in the evenings or when big sports events. Easy to book and great staff

Lovely atmosphere and good selection of beers, and the staff is very friendly. The pub was pretty quiet, but given the time of the year, it is pretty normal. Still my friends and I, had a good evening.

All good apart from the men's toilet cubicle upstairs. No lock on the door

Went in a Saturday night - 1st time here. The atmosphere is very nice, good music (not heavy or too strong) and you can make some requests to the DJ. There's plenty of board games (which I was not aware and was a pleasant surprise 🤩) so you can play with friends and eat at the same time. Not a big variety of drinks but definitely enough to choose from! I'm not a very big fan of alcohol, I like sweets cocktails with more juice than alcohol 😅 so everything was perfect, but I guess you can make your own request when it comes to this subject. The staff were all very polite and attentive. I believe the only downside (in my opinion) was the fact the waiter came to try and collect the plates many times, but that can also be their policy or being just following rules (I don't know). I'll definitely come back more times 🤩🎉

Nice enough pub but it no longer brews its own beers and no plans to brew in the future, one real ale on, a very ordinary Tribute.

Have had decent nights here before however tonight was a shambles. The Tyson Fury fight was on and we pre booked a table. The boxing did not come on at all despite us and others asking about it from 8pm. Then at 9:30 some school leaver came round to let us know due to technical difficulties they probably wouldn’t show the fight. The only reason we went there was due to the fight.

Good place to visit with friends

Great beers, food brilliant and good prices. What more could you want? Popped in on a Saturday afternoon, we shared pizza and nachos and a couple of drinks. Will be back!

Pre-booked table with kids for pizza and lunchtime football before heading down to St Mary’s. Food spot on with staff friendly and accommodating (wait times less than 30 mins)

Food was good, especially the plant based Korean fries. The music was a bit too loud though.

Love the cozy atmosphere - we came in to play our board games and have a drink ended up ordering Sunday roast and pizza 2 for 1 😂 good place to chill with friends plus reasonably priced 👌

To be fair, I'm not a huge fan of craft beers. Went there on a Wednesday night and were almost outnumbered by staff. I don't know how they stay open.

Pleasantly unique bar housing a jukebox you'll spend time queuing songs on. Friendly staff, food menu, plenty of tables, board games and pool as well as multiple TVs showing live sport. Highly recommend for a drink in a relaxed atmosphere in Southampton

London Brewhouse effort to make each day fun is amazing! with pub quizzes to bingo to different sporting events really makes this place constantly buzzing. The staff there are so thoughtful and have really made myself and group of friends feel welcomed.

Great atmosphere here. We went for work drinks and had a nice buzz but also a big enough table for us all to sit around and talk. Live music was also on which was cool. Queue at the bar but due to lots of bartenders it went down quickly. Didn't try food but looked nice coming out.

Went in here for the first time with colleagues. Never waited more than 45 seconds to be served, bloody brilliant 🎉

My beloved Varsity now in another new guise. My town visits are not particulary frequent but I do always tend to visit this place. Catch an early kick off and grab a pizza to set you up for the night. Decent prices and the pizzas really are good.

Fantastic Bar at the top of London Road, excellent selection of drinks and the pizzas are great quality & price!!

Overall a great bar, unique in it's design and feel, staff were attentive and welcoming. The only issue was how load the music was, we could hear each other from across the table and subsequently left because of this.

Comfortably busy, good beer and nice atmosphere. Bar staff helpful but don't look particularly happy to be there. Bizarrely ran out of wine glasses at 7.30 on a Friday 🤷‍♂️

Staff was rude thats the only downside! Overall decent pub...

Visited here now a couple of times casually. Someone in charge here knows what they are trying to achieve. Service is fantastic, friendly, like you are in a local village pub.All credit due especially in a city. Food is very carefully but expertly chosen. All can be seen being cooked in pizza oven and the other options including sourdough kebabs and salads really excellent. We are not very local but will come to this place often as such a nice vibe. Loved the boardgames available but all ages would enjoy this place.

Amazing venue with really friendly staff. Drinks reasonably priced with student discount options. Really enjoy going to the Monday night quiz hosted by Matt and Dan. Always a good laugh going with a group, with great atmosphere

A favourite of mine in the city of Southampton. It's a great meeting place near other bars and clubs or certainly captivating enough to warrant an entire evening. There's plenty of space with a variety of seats on multiple levels. Plenty of screens for the sports fans. Also they have a pool table, free juke box, retro games console and a wide bar with plenty of artisan ales or good old fave classics. I only tried the pizzas and wings recently and was not dissatisfied at all. They have a great range of pizzas all made and cooked onsite in a large pizza oven. Yum. Toilets are good, lighting and ambience good, security friendly and the clientele varied. It's a fun, vibrant and thoroughly enjoyable place. Cheers 🍻

I visited this place with seven friends on 30/9/2023. Had some drinks with no issues until doorman asked my friend to remove a baseball hat. There was no argument or drunkenness involved, but my friend was asked to leave for wearing said hat. I asked to speak to the manager and was directed towards a chap who appeared to be drinking shots with his staff. After a polite discussion he was not going to overrule his doorman so we all left. I run a business and this seems a pretty good way to alienate your customers particularly as there were only a few people in there.

Visited for several hours and had a really good time until the security guard refused to let us use the toilet. We arrived at 5.30pm and at 11.30pm were told it was past last orders and we weren't allowed inside to use the toilets. Security guard got very aggressive and threatened to call the police when we politely asked to go inside to use the bathroom before leaving. Will not return.

Great place to hang out for a meal and drink. Friendly staff, even though they didn't know how to make many drinks. Good pizza. A single pool table makes for more fun.

Great place to meet up with my friends but even better that its super dog friendly! Especially during the later hours of the day, my dogs get the happiest when greeted by security named Toni. She is an absolute amazing person! hard working and has the best vibes with people and certainly pets. It’s nice to know you are in a safe environment when Toni is around. The best and most genuinely kind security around the area of Southampton. The dogs will always have a special place in your heart.

Avoid for Rugby World Cup 2023. The venue itself is nice enough and the staff are generally friendly. But, massive point loss for advertising as a bar that's "serious about live sport" and taking table bookings for the Rugby World Cup opener on Friday that clashed with a live music night. A clear management mess up, and apparently a DJ will be playing through the England Vs Argentina match on Saturday. If you're booked in for any Rugby World Cup matches I'd strongly suggest you go elsewhere. The manager clearly is only after your money and doesn't care about your customer/sportsfan experience.

Toni was by far the best security guard we’ve ever experienced on our night out. She made sure we were safe on our pub golf night out. Would definitely recommend going here on a night out xx

Great place to see friends, reasonable priced drinks, good music! Best part is Toni, she is the friendliest bouncer in Southampton, makes you feel safe but is still up for people having a lovely time!!

Delicious pizza, yummy nachos, amazing local beers. And dog friendly to boot. Skip the dough balls - a little bland for my taste. Kids allowed until 9:00 pm.

Last minute booking but they managed to squeeze us in.....although it was early...6.15 it was already full & buzzing. We opted to sit outside as it was bright & dry. We ordered Halloumi as a starter to share & I had the grilled salmon to follow both were delicious....the salmon was a very generous helping, perfectly cooked - I would definitely have it again. To follow we ordered baklava to share which comes with ice cream. I dont normally like baklava....too heavy sweet & syrupy but these are the best!!! Crispy, delicious & moreish! Do try them! The staff are friendly, attentive and do a good job of managing a constantly full house. It's probably not the choice if you want a quick meal but any wait is well worth it as the food is so good. A lovely evening out!

The drinks are great (student discount offered), especially the home brew ipa’s. The pizzas are unreal and the portions are fantastic. Pub quiz on a Monday and it’s normally packed out. Really nice decor. My only criticism is that the music is too loud. This makes it hard to converse with your friends and kills the atmosphere. This becomes especially frustrating during the quiz as you cannot discuss answers clearly. Overall, a really nice place for a drink

This place and its team have been everything to me since I moved to Southampton in January. The pizzas are top-notch too, as it happens.

Large place, decent beers, quiet on my visit, but probably very busy with local students.

Everytime we are here, we are treated with complete respect from the bouncer who is honestly the BEST door staff you will ever come across. Toni is your friend, protects you and makes sure you look after yourself. She is an absolute Angel and you couldn’t find anyone as lovely. I come here every time for her, the bar staff are also lovely and the live music always slaps. There is nothing bad about this place. You won’t find anywhere in Southampton like this.

I can't rate the food because we didn't go there to eat, Great location, close to The Loft for some real ale as the venue didn't stock it. The beer was well kept. A pool table and retro video games for entertainment and staff with a good sense of humour gave the place a great atmosphere. We'll be back when we're next that way, and maybe try the food?!

Loverly dog friendly pub, we had the lunch time menu and it was excellent, the kebab was a very generous portion, they have a great selection of beers, some cider and a couple of stouts, we tried a few and they were all good. We chose to sit outside as the weather was good but dogs are also welcome inside. They also have a pool table which was good fun.

Great range of beers, so. E brewed in house so if you like crafty beers but also a range of larger and ciders. We went on Tuesday so half proce pizzas which were amazing, really tasty and fresh. Lots of screens for sports, pool table and lots of seats. Highly recommended

Please put a 5* spice sign on that chicken kebabywabby. It really hurt and is gunna hurt more in the morning. I reckon it’ll burn the toilet bowl

Saturday evening, easily got a table and we're served immediately every time we went to the bar. Home brewed beer was really good, with a good range of beers for all tastes.

The bar staff I have no fault. The toilet had no wood on the door so made it completely see-through. The door security were rude and kicked us out for no reason, clearly don't know how to do their job properly.

I thought it would be rowdy as they were showing a Premier league match; however it wasn't. Staff friendly and they fetch a bowl of water and some treats for the dog. Lovely pint of Neck Oil.

Really nice atmosphere at any day of the week. On Tuesdays they have half priced pizzas and on Mondays it’s a pub quiz day. Very friendly people, cool vibes. Design of the place is also phenomenal. Great place to visit in Southampton
