Loch View in Highland

We had a lovely dinner on our first night in Glencoe. The service was warm and friendly and the bartender came and walked my husband through the best way to taste scotch. The food was delicious. We had fish & chips, the venison and the lamb shank, all of which were very well prepared.

We visited as a family on our annual holiday and it was a week before Christmas. Reservations are essential. We sadly missed the view of the loch from the restaurant as it was dinner and already dark. The food was great quality prepared very well. I ordered the mussels - I have not seen mussels as large or as tasty as these anywhere. It was the star of the show. The potato and leek soup and tortellini were just short of a little magic. The Christmas dinner was tasty with all the traditional fare. The wine was good. It was a wonderful dining experience.

We came here as a family of 4 adults with kids. Entrance to the restaurant is a bit strange, we went round the back side entrance and walked through a corridor with toilets then through a section of the bar before we found the actual dining area. Not sure if there was another entrance but if there were, it wasn’t very well signposted. The dining area has good views over the loch and the bridge and we were given a nice big table although we had to request for a high chair and the waitress wasn’t sure if they had one at first. We did check the sample menu on their website first before we booked here and the menu on the website must be years old as the actual menu we were given showed much higher prices. At almost £20 per main, only one choice of steak albeit 10oz for £32, starters you’re looking around £8 and desserts around £9. They have a kids menu which had starters and mains but oddly no dessert. We came for 5:30pm and it was very quiet and not much of an ambience but actually we didn’t mind as we were wary we had noisy kids with us and didn’t want to disturb other diners. Everyone in the party had a three course meal and we really enjoyed our food - burger, sea bass and roast chicken between us - although there were a few improvements that could be made. My roast chicken dish came with root vegetables that were not cooked enough and a bit on the dry side but the sauce that came with it was delicious and I wished there were more of it. It was served separately in a little jug which was too hot to handle - I had to hold it with my napkin so I didn’t burn my fingers! The chicken itself was nicely cooked and not dry but it was quite small and served on top of mashed potato which was slightly on the dry side. My son enjoyed his kid’s cheeseburger and it came with very chunky chips for £6.50. I really enjoyed my ‘bookie’ dessert which is a ginger cake served with fruit compote and custard. The portion size is not very big for £9 but it was delicious. All in all, the food was quite tasty and well presented but portion sizes are not very big so you would need 3 courses to feel full enough. Also, it’s a bit on the pricey side and usually at those prices you’d expect a fancier restaurant. Would go again as a treat as to be honest there are not many dining options in Glencoe and the ones that we have tried in the years we’ve visited are similarly priced and standard of food not much better.

Booked this based on TripAdvisor and the website for a relative’s birthday meal. We were disappointed as the reality of the restaurant did not match the photos or description online. No formal table linen or beautifully set tables as in the photo (may be a post Covid thing but linen can be washed!), certainly not a setting for “glad rags” as mentioned in the description. I had explained when booking on the phone that we were coming up from England to take my aunt (who lives locally) out for her 85th birthday and we talked about making it a bit special with maybe a candle or a happy birthday message with her dessert. We were shown to a bare wooden table set with a knife and fork tucked into a grey napkin at each place located underneath a large tv screen which was showing sport. It was turned off when I asked but I felt rather uncomfortable having to do so - the waiter made it clear to other guests that I had asked for this. The menus were laminated (again maybe a Covid thing) and bore little resemblance to the sample dinner menu online in that most of the dishes were a lot more ordinary - chicken with mashed potato for example in place of the roasted chicken supreme with crispy gnocchi - and no mention of the house gin or rum in the desserts. To be fair, the food we ordered (soup, haggis bonbons,haddock and chips, ice cream and brownie - which was more like ginger cake) was well cooked and the fish was delicious but £19 for fish, chips and peas was quite expensive. Service was good but very jokey - certainly not the slightly more formal service we had expected from the website description. No mention was made of my aunt’s birthday. The restaurant was popular and the food good although fairly basic, but PLEASE ensure the website pictures, text, menus and prices are more representative of the reality to avoid more guests having the same sense of disappointment that we had.

You can’t beat the view, service, and home cooked meal! We loved the local beers also. Easy to get to and plenty of parking.

We were really looking forward to dining here. Our mains of Haddock and the Spinach & Ricotta Tortellini were good, but the price of both seemed well over the top compared to other quality restaurants around. Most disappointing though was the £11.95 west highland cheeseboard which we were to share, there were 3 small pieces of cheese, a Brie, a blue and a piece of butter that we were later told was kaboc.

Amazing views of Sgorr Dhonuill and great food! The haggis Bon Bon was stunning and the vegan options for my partner were the best we’ve had in Scotland.

We had a lovely table by the window overlooking Loch Leven. We enjoyed trying a few of the gins before dinner which were made at the hotel, which was an added bonus. The food was delicious, one of the highlights was the Venison, and all beautifully presented! Would highly recommend for visiting the area.

Went for an evening meal one night was greeted by a friendly member of staff. We had the goats cheese starter between us, my husband then had the cod dish and I had the tagliatelle all were very tasty but were disappointed the next day when we popped in for a beer after a long walk we could find no-one to serve us even though there were other people eating and drinking, we waited around 15 minutes, my husband checked reception no-one there, then a member of the kitchen staff appeared who went to find someone to serve us as he said he didn't know anything about the bar, back he came unable to find anyone so at this point we decided to leave. We were disappointed after having an enjoyable meal the night before.

Beautiful food and the views are amazing. Lovely setting, lovely staff, and the bar tender made an amazing amaretto sour spritz. My husband loved his fish, perfectly flakey and my duck was the best duck I’ve ever had. They weren’t tight with the veg either. Plenty variety and great portions. Everything was finished off the plate at the same time. Highly recommend for an evening meal.

We stayed near this hotel and booked to eat here twice. We are glad we did as the food was very good as was the service. Unfortunately, due to scottish midges, we were unable to sit outside but on our first visit we had a window table. I had a view of the Loch and my husband had a view of Ballachulish Bridge. The food seemed freshly cooked and although busy both evenings we did not have to wait long. When the food arrived it was very well cooked and we both had 2 courses both evenings.

We enjoyed the Hogmanay gala dinner and a most enjoyable meal it was. An 'amuse bouche was served followed by a choice of three starters. I chose the goat cheese torte. There was a choice of four mains including a vegan option.I chose the roast chicken with mushroom and mustard sauce. It was perfectly cooked and very tasty. The house red wine was excellent and very modestly priced. All in all a very satisfactory evening in great company.

We enjoyed our meal here, we ate at the bar. The scallops were especially delicious. Good service and cozy bar area.

We had ribeyes and fish n chips for lunch. Food was good. Service was very friendly. Nice view to the loch as well. Great place, will visit again.

I was pleasantly surprised by the restaurant in the this fabulous little hotel. Breakfast was excellent, and the fish I had for dinner was one of the best meals of my trip.

Staying at the hotel, we booked a table for dinner. Good service, tasty food, but all seemed a bit average so thought it a bit pricey

We were very pleased with our dinners at Loch View. The menu offers provides a variety of dishes, but we all chose fish and we very pleased. The wait staff was attentive and not intrusive. The view was memorable.

Our hosts at Tom-na-Creige B&B (wonderful place, too!) recommended this restaurant and booked a table for us. We did not regret coming. We were warmly welcomed and there was a reasonable choice of vegetarian dishes, which suited us. Our meals were beautifully presented, copious and delcicous. I can recommend this restaurant without hesitation.

Wir haben spontan auf unseren Weg von den Highlands nach Stirling nach einer Gelegenheit zum Mittagessen Ausschau gehalten. Dabei sind wir auf das Loch Review gestoßen. Das Essen war sehr lecker und mit frischen Zutaten zubereitet (insbesondere das vegetarische Gericht mit guten Salaten). Wir hatten die Wahl draußen zu sitzen mit einem schönen Ausblick auf den Fluss oder im klimatisierten Lokal. Der Service war sehr freundlich und geduldig mit unseren spärlichen Englischkenntnissen. Mittags ist es überhaupt kein Problem einen Tisch zu bekommen aber wir haben die Information bekommen, wenn man abends oder spätnachmittags dort essen möchte ä, sollte man sich einen Tisch reservieren. Schöne Erfahrung!

This was our last meal of a short weekend away and it was definitely a great way to end our trip. First of all the setting is stunning as you would expect from this part of Scotland.Henry, the manager was so friendly, down to earth and very helpful; as were all his staff.But the food topped it all. I had the Scottish Venison with Pickled Raspberries and jous. Whoever thought this dish up is a genius. I actually didn't want it to end.Any time I am anywhere near Glencoe I am eating here!!!

Nous sommes allés dans ce restaurant car nous logions à côté. Notre hôte nous l'avait décrit comme un super restaurant mais nous avons été déçus. Tout d'abord l'attente fut très longue et peu chaleureuse. Le lieu n'est pas très authentique et nous n'avons pas ressenti le charme d'autres lieux et restaurants écossais. Aucune chaleur humaine de la part des personnes en salle. L'ambiance se veut guindée pour pas grand chose. En termes de nourriture, ce fut cher et pas exceptionnel. Cela nous a pas marqué du tout hélas.

Tres bonne cuisine avec des produits de qualité. Accueil sympathique et prix correct. Le seul bémol contrairement aux plats principaux les entrées sont un peu light.

Nice views over the loch and pretty location about 15 mins outside Fort William. We had the best meal of our long weekend here. Able to cope with food intolerances well, good wine list and delicious food. Particularly notable was the salmon starter. Efficient waiter service

Das Fisch-Gericht war lecker, der vegetarische Burger war sehr trocken. Die Blumenkohlsuppe war jedoch ausgezeichnet. Das Servicepersonal war freundlich. Zwar waren wir die ersten Gäste um 17:45 Uhr, haben aber den schlechteste Platz (direkt beim Billard-Zisch) gekriegt. Grund: ab 18:30 Uhr treffen die Gäste mit den Reservationen ein. Bis 19:15 Uhr waren die Tisch jedoch nur zu höchstens einem Fünftel besetzt. Schade, die Ambiente ist nämlich schön.

Nous sommes venus par hasard sur les recommandations de nos hôtes Airbnb et ce fut une belle surprise! Nourriture très bonne, assiettes très copieuses, personnel très sympathique et belle vue sur le Loch! Très bon rapport qualité prix!!

We walked in and were greeted and seated after a short wait (busy at the bar). We ordered wine, scallops, soup and 2 burgers. Absolutely amazing. Would definitely recommend! Wine was beautiful as was the food. We had a whiskey recommendation, mouth on fire but we did ask for something smokey!

We thought the barman was doing us a favour recommending this and that drinks. Little did we know the costs. Outrageous!!!

My brother and I came to eat our first hot meal in Scotland at the Hotel Restaurant. The food was fine but immediately the atmosphere was strange. The manager (maybe owner) made several off-color jokes to us and we felt uncomfortable. He seemed upset. The restaurant was almost empty save for a few patrons drinking quietly. When we finished, we asked to pay our bill. After 25 minutes of waiting, we got up and went to the bar. Twice we asked to pay our bill, very quietly and politely. Both times we were ignored. The manager interacted with us several times, but always making odd jokes that were uncomfortable for us. Finally, my brother got up and went to ask to pay a bit more firmly. The manager made a sexual innuendo concerning our desire to leave. Like "oh you are wanting to get back to your b and b for some ..." My brother was mortified. He explained that we were brother and sister. The manager made another odd remark, but finally (after nearly an hour of us waiting) let us pay the bill. We walked back to our bnb in complete shock. Probably the worst dining experience of our lives. Both my brother and I have previous experience working as servers in restaurants and just could not believe what we had just been through. Do NOT eat here.

great food and good staff. the cuisine style is homely and perfect after other cheffy hotels. nice atmosphere and the view is incredible.

The restaurant has a nice and tidy interior. Service was very good and friendly. The food, however, had some shortcomings, although I must admit I'm accustomed to pretty high standards. To begin with, my white wine, although good, was a bit on the warm side and I had to order some ice to chill it, which was served forthwith. The scallops tasted a bit musty, which should never be the case with seafood. Also, my lamb chops were overcooked for my taste. The Scottish cheeses I had for dessert tasted a bit bland. I wondered whether they had been kept in room temperature long enough before serving.

Nice ambiente with loch view. Staff a bit too active. Not all the guests can handle such humor. Starters were delicious and the mains could be the same. But the cook overlooked my steak. Ordered english, got well done. 2nd try, better, but not perfect. Over all, based on UK level, very good.

Fantastic service and great food. Lovely view over loch. Highly recommend the chicken and for starter baked Camembert.

Food is delicious and the service was excellent! We were staying at a B&B; down the road and she recommended Loch View. It was an amazing dinner. England vs Croatia was playing on the tv and everyone was into the game, including the staff. It was a fun night despite England losing. The view is pretty terrific as well.

once again this place was great. great service, fantastic food and a beautiful view. what else could one ask for. we are ladies that lunch all over the area and this we reckon is the best one so far. not a great choice but what was there was well worth it. last time my son and i came here for dinner and i had the venison and the only word that i can use to describe it is phenomenal! i am a lover of venison but the chef here does things that i didn't realise were possible with it. an amazing experience!

Very good meal, although quite expensive. Starter was very generous.Fish was excellent and very well presented. Good wine. The bar made a good start to the evening.

Enjoyed a wonderful meal in the bar/restaurant area overlooking the loch and bridge in glorious sunshine. The venison main course was delicious. We had our Guide Dog pup Unice with us and we were all made most welcome. Thanks to the courteous staff too.

Accueil très gentil, billard gratuit , petit bar avec cheminée et grand choix de whiskies et gins, terrasse avec vue sur le pont... tout est réuni pour passer un excellent moment. Les plats sont bons sans être inoubliables mais notre soirée a été très agréable, merci !

Was in Loch Leven hotel at 2.30pm yesterday to go for lunch and went to the bar entrance which we were so excited about with it being dog friendly and we were staying at the riverbed lodges who recommended the hotel for lunch and dinner.

I’d had a restaurant on my list of places to dine but I failed to have our hotel make reservations for us. Consequently we were unable to experience dinner at a local restaurant that is operated by a Michelin Star Chef… Our hotel dining room seemed like a logical back up for our dining plans.

De haber dejado los Loch Leven Hotel hace unas pocas horas que he estado en un dilema emocional. El pan estaba duro, el tocino gruesas y grasos rasher hijo dormido en la parte superior y el dumping de carne fue quemada y únicamente sabía mal. Yo creo que ha sido preparado y recalentado varias veces, sin duda no era fresco y no detectar cualquier indicio de humedad en la carne, aparte de mis lágrimas de dolor y asco! Fue tan mal! Era tan malo que terminamos con un aperitivo de nuestro hijo pasta acompañada de una sosa, insípida, hongos), pero fue mejor que ningún otro en la mesa. También compramos algunas patatas fritas en el bar para mantenerte. Nos sentimos totalmente insatisfactorio, y teníamos que salir de prisa. Tan pronto como nos de la puerta los autores estaban de pie allí en sus blancos (algo que fumar tabaco está fuertemente les riñan a en la industria, especialmente donde los clientes deben pasar para llegar al aparcamiento). Una pena enorme que estas dos personas dejan que el resto del equipo, así dramáticamente. El establecimiento, de lo contrario es encantador, limpio y bien situado. Contratar nuevos chefs, su ubicación no puede ser invocada si sirven una comida horrible.

We went there for a meal as there are not to many eating places in north ballaculish when on foot we arrived at the hotel and asked if we could have a table for two we where told yes but in 20 mins then we where taken to the bar to wait .going passed a empty eating room, after 45mins taken to a seat in a near empty room as we passed two friend we asked to join then the waiter did not like this but we join them and after 2 and a half hours we got something they called food which was hidden by water cress after removing it I found my dinner over cooked and dry are friend where treated in the same way the staff where rude it is the worst place to go in Europe they should cover the hotel with water cress so on one can fine it so don't go and have the same treatment

My wife and I came here for dinner when staying at a nearby hotel, we had eaten here before and thoroughly enjoyed it so decided we'd visit again. When we arrived we were informed that it would be 30mins before we could order as it was busy, this was fine and we were shown to a table in the bar area. We waited almost an hour and still hadn't had our order taken when I asked the young man in the bar for a menu , as I was fed up watching other diners who arrived after us being served. We eventually ordered our meals and waited and waited and waited and....... So I asked how long our meal would be to be told another 5 minutes or so, had I been closer to another restaurant and had more time I'd have cancelled and left, I had another beer which was given to me free to say sorry for the delay, we eventually had our main course which was decent tasting if not a little overpriced, ordered our dessert and waited again. From entering the restaurant to leaving again we were almost 3 hours which just seems an unreasonable length of time, and both my wife and I have decided that on our next visit to the area we will NOT be eating here, and instead dine in the nearby Ballachulish hotel, or in the Onich hotel where we were staying and had had a perfectly decent meal the evening before without the wait.

La ubicación en el mapa es incorrecta y el nombre es incorrecto. No hay restaurante sólo Restaurante prosiga hacia Loch Leven a una calle. Paramos aquí a través de Tripadvisor y nos sentaron inmediatamente. El servicio es perfecto y la comida era tan deliciosa. Pedimos el salmón, carne de hamburguesa y todos y shin eran muy buenos. Recomiendo encarecidamente este restaurante. La vista es espectacular sobre el río y la montaña.

Während unseres Aufenthaltes im selben Hotel hatten wir mehrere Abendessen hier, der Service war immer zuvorkommend, die Tagessuppen ganz wunderbar und die Steaks, Burger sowie das Lammfleisch auf den Punkt gebraten. Dazu die hausgemachten double cooked chips und jeweils passenden Soßen/Dips - herrlich. Wir kommen garantiert wieder ins Hotel und lassen uns mit den Kochkünsten verwöhnen.

refugiarse en un día de lluvia, estos dos humedad viajeros y su perro igualmente desaliñados mostraron una gran bienvenida y sirve buena comida. El whisky localmente salmón ahumado era excelente, y todo el personal era muy amable y hospitalaria. La próxima vez que venga y estancia!

This is one of our regular eating places on our annual visit to Scotland. Get a table by the window or sit out on the decking for superb views towards Glencoe and Lock Leven. The food is always good quality, nicely served and value for...

Nos metimos en aquí a la hora del almuerzo cuando el Drive. Era nada especial desde el exterior, pero lo bueno fue exquisito!!!

12 de nosotros llegamos en barco para un almuerzo de cumpleaños en un mal día y nos hicieron sentir bienvenidos con una chimenea crepitante para secar la ropa y una deliciosa sopa y sándwiches para coger fuerzas para la tarde. Una parada excelente en un día memorable.

Etant arrivés tard et sous la pluie à notre B&B nous avons cherché un restaurant indiqué par notre hôte et ne l'ayant pas trouvé nous avons atterri au restaurant de l'hôtel Loch Leven. Tout d'abord le service était nul le jeune homme allait interroger son "chef" à chaque question qu'on lui posait sur le menu et même sur une simple commande de bière ! Nous avons attendu au moins 45 minutes avant d'être servis (nous avions déjà attendu longtemps avant de passer commande) alors que c'était la fin du service. Nous n'étions d'ailleurs plus que deux couples dans la salle lorsque nous avons eu terminé ! La cuisine n'était pas bonne et le rapport qualité/prix médiocre ! La seule chose que l'on aurait pu apprécier si nous avions eu une table devant les fenêtres c'est la vue sur le lac.
